Please advise, thanks.

Actually the two error page shown occurs when the page is not found in the portal builder(Object not found) or the user is not allowed to access the page(do not have permission to perform..). These error page are shown automatically by oracle portal. I like to know where these error page is shown in oracle portal so that i can edit the page to suit my needs like change the header etc.
I went to the sample error page to edit but the change was not reflected in the two error pages above so these two error pages might be stored in some location such that when either object not found or no permission, the error pages are reflected in the webpage.

  • ADF Application and Oracle Portal Login Page

We have developed ADF application and deployed it in Oracle AS 10.1.2 along with the custom JAAS module, which is working fine with the application custom login page. As a next page, I want to use Oracle Portal login page for the authentication and authorization.
How can I accomplished it? Any idea?
    Thanks,
    AP

    Shay,
    1. I created blank ADF project
    2. I copied myreport.jsp file (this one was generated by Oracle Report Builder) under ..ViewController/public_html directory
    3. Created directory 'lib' under ViewController/public_html/WEB-INF/lib
    4. Copied reports_tld.jar file under the directory created in 3.
    5. Created simple jspx page with the af:link (btw af:goLink does not exists in JDev 12c), set 'destination' to myreport.jsp
After the steps above I could not even compile the application, many problems too many to list here, Basically JDev is trying to build the project with .jsp file generated in Report Builder and is unable to.
So to be sure we are on the same page: I am trying to embed JSP report files generated by Report Builder into ADF project, then create EAR file and deploy on standalone WLS. Finally execute JSP web only report.

  • Oracle Portal Dynamic Pages?

I grabbed this from the Primer on Portlets "<b>By simply cutting and pasting the HTML provided by affiliates into Oracle Portal dynamic pages, you can create a portlet specifically for that affiliate program and embed it into your portal.</b>"
How is this Oracle Portal Dynamic Page created?

The dynamic page is a portal application component. You can create one within any portal application that you have been granted edit privileges (for a sample, go to the Navigator, click on the Applications tab and open EXAMPLE APP). For additional information, check out the on-line help (search for dynamic) or glance at the components section of the product features whitepaper: http://technet.oracle.com/products/iportal/pdf/portal_twp.pdf

  • Customizing Portal Error Page?

Is there a way to customize the look and feel of Portal Error Pages?

I found the section of Portal Configuration document 4.3.7 that shows how to set a global Error Message Page. However, it utilizes the / Administration Portlets / Portal / Error Message Portlet
Is there a way to modify this portlet? I'm thinking it's a PLSQL portlet. Does anyone know where (what package/procedure/function) it resides in the PORTAL schema?

  • Customizing portal error pages using WPC seems not to work

    Hi,
I am running a EP 7.01 system and have instaled the KMC-WPC component.
My goal is to edit custom error pages. I have followed the help.sap.com
    guide, however i don't see any results. When i create a KM-document
iview to a non-existing document, i stll get the default 404 error
page. I have restarted the portal, but without effect. Am i missing something or is the error-page editor not meant for this kind of use? I have also tried to edit the web.xml file, but these errorpages are on a very global scale and not usefull for my purpose

    Hussain,
Yes, it is a KM document not found page

  • ADF/Webcenter Portal Error Page configuration in web.xml

    Hi All,
I am using jdeveloper version 11.1.1.6.0.
I set two error pages in my application by following web.xml entries.
      <error-page>
        <error-code>404</error-code>
        <location>/oracle/webcenter/portalapp/pages/AfError.html</location>
      </error-page>
      <error-page>
        <error-code>503</error-code>
        <location>/oracle/webcenter/portalapp/pages/SiteMaintenance.html</location>
</error-page>but it does not divert to the AfError.html page but shows 404 error.
    How to solve this.
Is it possible to set .jspx page in location attribute also.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Require as early as possible

    Hi,
this should be asked on the WebCenter forum. However, how likely is it that your error page also causes a 404 error? The message in you web.xml file are for site not found and site not available. So unless you redirect to something that is accessible you wont be able to tell whether it works or not

  • Replacing default Oracle Portal HTML pages

How do I modify/replace the default Oracle Portal pages, such as the home page for non-logged-in users, the login page, the customize page, etc.? I'd like the fact that we're using Oracle Portal to be transparent to the users.
This is probably covered someplace in these forums or the product documentation but I have yet to find it.

    Benjamin,
Home Page = home page for the PUBLIC user. You can also set the home page for the AUTHENTICATED_USERS group for logged in users.
Login Page = If you're using 3.0.7, search for "Login" in the online help. Select the topic "Customizing the Single Sign-On (Login) and Change Password pages". You can also use the Login Portlet on any Portal Page.
Customize Page = Cannot be customized. In 3.0.7, we've removed the Oracle branding from the Wizard-type pages.
Most of these tips are contained in the Portal FAQ.

    Jerry

  • Oracle shows error page when trying to download JDeveloper 10g

    Hi,
I follow the link to download Oracle JDeveloper 10g. After completing the questionaire and click on download button, Oracle shows error message informing that system error and bad request.
    Please check.
    Regards.
    Heng

    I agree
I am trying to get to the Oracle JDeveloper 10g (Version 10.1.2, build 1811) Jan 2005 download, after clicking the link on this page,
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/jdev/index.html
you go the to standard "Oracle Technology Network License Terms " page at
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/htdocs/jdevlic.html?http://otn.oracle.com/software/products/jdev/htdocs/soft1012.html
    and then you get "http://www.oracle.com/errors/404.html"
funny this also happened to me last year when I was first trying to get the oracle 9i database for a class project, and had to get an Oracle person on the phone to go find it and send me a link for it. I need to get a working copy of the Oracle JDeveloper 10g (Version 10.1.2, build 1811)

  • Oracle Portal -- Installed pages use LOCALHOST

Did I miss a configuration step..
All the pages generate with http://localhost/.... in there
so if you are accessing from
another machine the graphics dont show.

    Hello,
yes, it work's perfectly ! I' am using the Apache HTTP-Server which is installed in the midtier of IAS (Portal) together with PHP 5.1.2 ( not the 4.x original version ). I also use SSO funtionality of IAS in my PHP scripts and smarty for template engine.
1.: install your preferred PHP version in a seperate folder of the machine where Portal runs.
2.: Rename the original php.ini file and move the new php.ini with your settings file from your installation to the folder ..\Apache\Apache\conf.
3.: change the httpd.conf entries for the php-dll to use your own php version
    LoadModule....
    AddModule...
As I know, changing the original version of the php installation in the midtier to a newer version is not officially supported by Oracle.
    Hope i could help you

  • Querying a Worksheet from PL/SQL Dynamic Page in Oracle Portal

Is there a way to actually ask Discoverer to give me a list of values for a report property from outside Discoverer?
In my case, I am trying to add reports to Oracle Portal via the Worksheet Portlet but I want to build a select list that contains valid entries for discoverer to run through the portlet for a discoParameter value. Is there any better way to get the list of values other than running the report's query 2x (once in discoverer to load the report and once in portal to get the list of values)?

    Hello David,
This is not a feature for Discoverer Portlet but as far as I can see Oracle Portal has Page Parameter Form that migh help in creating dynamic list of values. Please check in MetaLink :
Note.292521.1 How to Create a Page Parameter Form with Dynamic LOV
Once the Parameter has been created, it can be used from Discoverer Portlet too :

A general shared_pool_size Q&A is part of the Troubleshooting Guide on OTN: http://technet.oracle.com/products/iportal/htdocs/portal_troubleshooting.htm
The Configuration Assistant determines the shared pool size from the view v$parameter,
which lists information about the initialization parameters (populated from init.ora file). If the shared_pool_size value is more than 15728640 (for a default installation), you pass the minimal requirements set by the Portal Installer. Make sure you actually write out all the digits (i.e. 1000000000) and don't use abbreviations (1000M). Currently, the Configuration Assistant does a numeric check against the values that are set and cannot resolve the abbreviate syntax.
Also try running the sql [select value from v$parameter where name like 'shared_pool_size';] to check if the changes you are making in the init.ora is really getting populated in the v$parameter view. As long as you restart the database once you make the change in init.ora, it should take effect.

  • Customize Error Message Page - Oracle Portal

    Hi,
Please how i can customize Error Message Page ? or just the page not found ?
    tks
    carlo

This is documented in the Portal admin guides.
Make a copy of the standard error page (in the navigator) then change the portal configuration (in builder) and tell it to use your own page.

  • Page link error when other user connect to the oracle portal

    Hi,
I have a problem which I just realized today. I have created a page group, named community, and this page group contains few pages that are created using templates.
My problem is, when my colleagues logged to the oracle portal using their account, they cannot see the pages that I created, instead, when clicked on the pages within the page group, they only see the page templates (only the skeleton). They should be able to view the actual page that I created using the template, not the template I used to create the page.
Anybody with this problem can help? or maybe others can help me solve this problem.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
Did you try granting the page to PUBLIC or the users whom you want to show the page to ..
    Thanks,
