  • Do Oracle Developer Suite contains Oracle AS with Forms and Reports?

    Dear All,
I am having Oracle Developer Suite 10g.

Then do i need Oracle Application Server with Forms and Reports to deploy it?
Do Developer Suite contains Application Server with Forms and Reports?
How to test whether the report will run inside an application server?
If i am having Developer Suite and still do i need to install Oracle AS with Forms and Reports?
    DO revert.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Sameer,
Q1 Iam having Oracle Developer Suite 10g.
Using that i can design and test Oracle reports.
Then do i need Oracle Application Server with Forms and Reports to deploy it?
Yes you need Oracle Application Server to deploy forms /reports.There are 2 types . One containing only forms and reports services
Two containing forms, reports services, portal and many
    other product services.
So if you want to deploy only forms and reports then choose the first one
Q2 Do Developer Suite contains Application Server with Forms and Reports?
No. It contains a light component called OC4j. With this u can test the forms and reports in browser
Q3How to test whether the report will run inside an application server?
If you test it with developer suite, it should run fine with AS
Q4 If i am having Developer Suite and still do i need to install Oracle AS with Forms and Reports?
Pls note that Developer suite doesnt have any AS. And it has a light weight OC4J which is only for testing purpose. So u need to have AS for the deployment.

  • Oracle Portal with Oracle Web Cache

How can I configure Oracle Portal (or Web Cache) to work together?
I have installed and started both of them. Now, Web Cache works fine with standard html pages (for example Apache docs) but after trying to reach portal the url is redirected to standard port - on which Portal runs (Web Cache works on 1100 and Portal on 7778).
So it seems that portal pages are not cached.
    Web Cache:
    Application Web Servers:
    hpwin 7778 100 30 5 / 10
Where can I find any information about that?
    best regards
    KJ

Portal PM, I thought you said that this solution would not work. Everyone I have heard so far has said that you cannot configure webcache to work with Portal documents. Does this work or does it not?
Read the messages below from the bottom up.
It's not possible to do that today.
In 9.0.2 (the next release) we will be using WebCache configured out of the box so you won;t need to, however, till then you cannot use webcache with Portal 3.0.x
    Thanks

please try using this configuration on http.conf
    Port <webcache port>
    Listen <apache listen port>
    ServerName <webcache hostname>
you must running ssodatan script again.
    Note :
this config only make portal work together with webcache.

  • Oracle 8i with form 6i

    hi fellows
I have a problem that I have installed oracle 8i and forms 6i but the oracle is working properly but forms are not connecting to oracle
I have installed it on my personal computer while the operating system is windows 2000
I have specified the path in tnsnames but still no connection is building
    can anyone help me

I think Forms 6i requires that it be installed to a different Oracle home than 8i Personal.
The first step is to be able to connect to the database from 8i Personal's SQL*Plus. You know that both software packages install separate copies of SQL*Plus, right? If you can't connect like this, ain't nobody gonna' connect to the database.
The second step is to connect using Forms 6i's SQL*Plus. If you can do this, you should be able to connect using Forms. You'll have to set up tnsnames.ora, sqlnet.ora and maybe other .ora files. I forget exactly where they're located.
    Lemmie know how it goes.

  • Oracle Portal with 10G Enterprise App Server

I'm just getting back into the Oracle portal. We have certified Oracle 9i AS/portal in the past. How much different is it in the newer release. It seems that when I go to download it, everything is pointing back to 904 level installation. Has it changed?
    Thanks,
    Scott

Oracle AS Portal 10g and Portal 9.0.4 are different names for the same animal. Be sure to apply the patch set to upgrade to 9.0.4.1. Then you'll have the latest, greatest version.

  • Configure Oracle Portal with https

    Hello,
Is there any way which we can run OracleAS on https after user login to system (after runing the SSO).
    Thanks

Of all things you would want to be secured, the SSO is it. Why secure the midtier with the server doing the authentication is not.
At any rate, you can configure SSL for both servers. The 10gAS Administrator's guide covers it as well as the Portal Administrator's Guide.

  • Installation Oracle 8i with Forms 5.0

    Hi ,
I am trying to install Forms 5.0 in windows 2000 professional which has oracle 8.1.7.
After installation Oracle 8.1.7 gets disabled and Forms 5.0 too did not run.
Please let me know the solution for this problem.
    thanks ,
    Nimit

    1. Forms 5 (Dev 2.1) must be installed onto a new oracle home, not in the same on where 817 is.
    2. It is a good idea to install Forms 5 first, then 817.
Let me know if this solved your problem

  • Oracle Portal with Intermedia Searching

I had installed Oracle9iAS Portal and Intermedia. Then, I created a simple Content Area and added some items there, like Word Documents, HTML files, etc.
Now, when I try to find a word using the default Portlet "Basic Search" and it returns "no data found". But, if I use the "Advanced Search" it returns the items correctly.
I'm using "Brazilian-Portuguese" language and I think the problem is it. Can I modify the structure of these SQL codes (used from "Basic Search" portlet)?
Any idea is good for me. Thanks!

    Enrique,
see metalink for bug 1679678 . The workaround is for dutch, but you should be able to make it work in barzilian-portuguese. The side-effect is that searching the online-help becomes impossible ;-(
Another workaround is to copy the source of the HTML-form of the search portlet into a HTML portlet and add the hidden inputfield p_language . See the HTML-source of the advanced search for the exact line for your language.

    Ton

  • Accesing Oracle Portal with hostname invalid

    Hi!
We have a problem. We have a Portal server and a SSO server. Our environment call to portal server with:
    http://portalserver.mydomain.com
And when try to authenticate, it's calling to http://ssoserver (without domain), but we have users from other nets and needs full domain, but we don't know where change this config to http://ssoserver.mydomain.com.
¿Do you know how solve this?
    Thanks a lot
    Andrés

    Hi Andres,
I asked a colleague about this, here's his response:
The SSO server name needs to be updated on the SSO server first.
This is done with a call to ssocfg.sh script (see SSO Admin Guide).
Then the portal needs to pull in this new hostname by a call to ptlconfig -dad portal -sso.

  • Oracle Portal 11.1.1.6 with OAM 11.1.1.5

    Hi All,
I have the following customer requirement.
Oracle Portal 11.1.1.6 which is deployed on WebLogic Server 10.3.6
    Oracle Access Manager 11.1.1.5.0
    Oracle Internet Directory 11.1.1.6.0
The customer wants to have Single Sign On for the Oracle Portal Application. This is my understanding about the Architecture.
Oracle HTTP Server (with WebLogic Proxy Plug-in) talks to Oracle Portal
Oracle HTTP Server (the same above with WebGate) talks to Oracle Access Manager
Oracle HTTP Server has Oracle Web Cache
Oracle Access Manager talks to OID
Oracle Portal talks to OID with OID Authenticator
When I went through the Oracle Portal documents, they give steps for Oracle Portal which is deployed on Oracle Application Server but not with WebLogic.
    My questions
    1) Do I need to configure OID Authenticator at myrealm of WebLogic Domain (which hosts Oracle Portal) to connect to OID?
    2) Is there anything more I need to do to integrate Oracle Portal with OID (Meaning running pl/sql scripts or any)?
    3) Kindly advice me about the flow of Oracle HTTP Server, Oracle Web Cache, Oracle Web Gate to OAS and Oracle Portal?
    Thank you
    Regards,
    Somerset

    Hi Somerset,
I am going through the similar problems as you are so was able to find some high level answers (although still have problems implementing.)
    As for the questions:
    1.
Yes, you can check the details here:
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17904_01/webcenter.1111/e12405/wcadm_security_sso.htm#WCADM8176
Chapter 30.2.4.1 Configuring the Oracle Internet Directory Authenticator, item 9)
    2.
This is in no way a complete list, as it is still not working for me, but some of it:
OAM:You need to set up host identifier, resources(urls) to protect, define schemas and policies
OHS: Need to set portal name in mod_wl_ohs.CONF
Domain-level jps-config.xml: Needs to be set as per
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E15586_01/doc.1111/e15478/opssadf.htm, appendix c,
Example C-1 Sample SSO Configuration for OAM 11g
    3.
This graphic explains it I believe:
Same doc as above, at the beginning.
Figure 30-1 OAM Single Sign-On Components and Topology
You can also check the thread I have started describing my setup/issue:
    OHS/OAM/Portal SSO integration -  mod_wl_ohs.conf problem
    Hope this helps!
    ZoranZoran,
What you are tryiing to accomplish is the different than what Somerset's. Yours is the Oracle webcenter portal vs. Somerset's is the Oracle Portal.
For The road map of Oracle Portal integrating with Oracle Access Manager there is no other way than what I explained. ;)
