  • Default values for long text for mic in inspection plan

    hi,
Some long text are coming default when i am creating inpection plan for mic.
This is coming for only particular plant. For other plant it is not coming. Is there anywhere we can make it as default for a particualar line item . ie for particular characteristics i.e 10, 20 etc
    sathish. R

    Hi,
I am not sure , whether you are mentioning about Long text for MIC or Default insp char number (10,20,30..) in the insp plan.
If you are talking about Insp char number in the insp plan . you can specify the same in SPRO , QM->Q planning ->Insp planning -> General -> Maintain profiles for default values.

  • How to set default values to these fields

    Hello,
I'm new with UCM 11g, and i need to add default values to fields, for example to these fields:
Type -> Document should be the default and not editable value
Title -> Should be the name of the file i'm checking in
Security Group -> it's default and not editable value should be Secure
How do i set these default values ??
    Regards
    Carlos

Security Group and Document Type can be defined in your profile (as default values using dprDefaultValue - see e.g. Re: simple profiles and defaulting ). You can also define those fields as 'hidden' or 'info only'
Title with the name of file is a bit trickier - you cannot define it up-front as you don't know what file will be chosen, do you? You can, however, use a global rule where you can fill in dDocTitle with the value in dOriginalName (or somehow process it, if you will).

  • No default value for settlment rule

    Hi gurus,
Whenever i click on settlement rule> with default. it doesn't show an default value. it says "No default could be formed for the distribution rule"
I already have a cost center for my equipment. what could be the problem?
    Thank you.

    Hi,
go to OKO7 >>> Select your settlement profile >>> make default values & valid settlement recievers.
go to OIOA >>> Select u r order type >>> details >>> assign sttleemnt profile to order.
    Then it will take default,
if you want cost centre default, then in settlement profile set default object value as cost centre

  • UNDO_RETENTION default value

    Hi Gurus,
Have created a DB (9.2.0.1). After the DB creation I found the undo_retention parameter value to be set to 10800. But as per Oracle docs the default value should be 900. Searched metalink but did not find any bugs associated.
Can you please help me in finding the reason for this. Am using Solaris 32 bit.

    1) What documentation are you referring to, exactly?
    2) I'm guessing that you're quoting from the Oracle Reference section on the particular initialization parameter. If so, the default value is the value that Oracle would fill in if you left that parameter blank.
    3) If you are creating databases by picking one of the DBCA's templates, a number of initialization parameters are going to be set to non-default values to support the particular type of workload you've selected.

  • Why the default value is not the Oracle recommended?

Why the default value is not the Oracle recommended?
In Oracle 10g, the default alocated unit of Oracle ASM is 1MB. But the Oracle ducumentation states that "To ensure a higher probability of one
logical I/O resulting in no more than one physical I/O, the minimum stripe depth should be at least twice the Oracle block size". ---See Performance Tuniing Guide (10g10.2 Page8-3.
It's inconsistent. What is right way?

    >
    8 * 128 = 1024
    128 >= 2
At least twice the size does not mean exactly the doubled size.
There is no contradiction between the documentation and your observation in this case.

  • Default value of combobox using dynamic LOV in Oracle Portal form

We are trying to specify the deafult value of a combobox on a form that derives it options from a dynamic LOV. The option value is a number and the display is text.
    E.g.
    <Option value="1">Books
    <Option value="2">CDs
We have tried various ways of setting the default option to be selected on the Combobox. First, we tried using a sql query to return a number from a table (sql query returns number -> in the default value type field). Next, we tried to use a constant number (default value: 2, default value type: constant). In neither case, did the Oracle Portal form pre-select our default choice in the drop-down list.
Any suggestions? I browsed the other forum articles on this topic and noticed several folks believed it was a bug in Portal. We are using Portal version 3.0.9 (latest App Server for the Ebusiness Suite). Thanks in advance.

You can manually add the select list (or for that matter anything else) to a wizard created form. If the select list is for an existing item, simply change the "Display As" setting from Text to a Select List based on the LOV you create. Any changes made will then be applied by the update process.
    cheers,

  • Oracle Portal master details default value set up.

    Hi All,
Using Oracle Portal to create a master details form.
I have tried to set up the details table foreign key. I used the master table primary key as a default value for the details table foreign key.
Does anyone know what the correct syntax is when I fill in the Default Value field on the "Formatting and Validation Options for Detail Row" tab?
Also related to this: What should I choose from the drop down menu for the "Default Value Type"?
    Best Regards.
    Liviu Minda & Paul Williams
    Cape Town City Council.

    Hi Liviu & Paul,
NOTE: The following is applicable to Portal version 3.0.8 and above .
Well, if you want that the Detail table Foreign key should get the value of The Mater Table Primary key, then you need not do anything like setting the Default value for the Foreign Key of the Detail section. It works like this :-
    Operation INSERT:
When you are INSERTing a master record and the corresponding detail records, just fill up the master form and need not worry about the Foreign key(FK) in the Detail rows. Fill up the other columns for the detail rows and choose the appropriate action for each of the detail rows i.e. INSERT and click on the SAVE button. If the FK in the Detail have been left blank, then while inserting into the detail table, the Primary Key (PK) value of the master will be picked up and inserted . However, if you specify any value in the FK column of the Detail, then the specified value would override the PK value of the master.
Generally, what ppl do is make the FK in the detail of type Hidden.. so users cannot tamper with the FK values.
    Hope this helps.

  • Default value from Oracle database not working

    Hi Everyone:
    We use JHeadstart 10.1.3.1.
I have an Oracle table that has 2 fields that are both mandatory and have default values. We have been spending a lot of time putting this type of business logic in the database so that these checks do not have to happen in the JHeadstart Application.
The mandatory field is being brought into our Entity Object (as the mandatory checkbox is checked), but the default values do not seem to be getting pulled from the database. Even though the default value is defined at the database level, when trying to insert a new row into the table, a value must be filled in by the User running the application, otherwise an Oracle error is received that it is a mandatory field and must have a value. This happens when I am running the ApplicationModule by right-clicking it and clicking on "Test" as well as when running the Application
Does JDeveloper not pull default values from the database? Is there something I am missing?
Just for clarity, we have developed a re-usable library of entity objects that imports all of our Business Components similar to the following link
http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/B32110_01/web.1013/b25947/bcadvgen007.htm#CHEFECGD This is working well, but want to mention it here in case it is a consideration.
    Thanks in advance.

    Steven:
Thanks so much for taking the time to reply. Good to hear from you. Hope you are keeping warm in the Netherlands!
During synchronization or initial creation of the Business Components from the Oracle tables, JDeveloper brings over the mandatory attribute as defined in the database.
Would it be possible, in a future release, to also bring over the default values found in the database and assign them to the "Default" property in the Entity Objects Editor?
I always like to follow the best practice of defining something in one spot to make maintenance as easy as possible and avoid manual steps.
Thanks very much for your time.

    - This sounds very much like an Initialization Parameter.
    - Initialization Parameter defaults, descriptions, usage and warnings are documented in the Oracle Database Reference manual
    - The Reference manual is part of the doc set
    - The doc set is available at http://tahiti.oracle.com

  • Certificate Profile default values

Is there a way to default values when adding a new Master Insp. Characteristic when creating a Cert Profile? For example, if I want to default:
    Category=1 Master inspection characteristic
    Plant=QM00
    Result Selection Level=1 Summary
Add Text when not ok=1 If outside specification

    Hi Julie,
There is no option in SAP for creating the default values in the certificate profile. We can either try using the exits like QMSD0001 or just copying the earlier created characteristics.
Kindly ask me if you need any other details.

  • Oracle parameter - how to reset to the default value ?

    Hi

ALTER SYSTEM set <parameter> = <value>; - if not using SP file. and also change in int file.
    ALTER SYSTEM set <parameter> = <value> scope=<memory or spfile or both> ; - if using SP file.
Only some parameters can be changed this way not all.
