Oracle Projects for Exploration and Drilling

Do oracle projects can be used for exploration and drilling in oil and gas company?
What are modules which can cover these operations? Please Help

Hi
Oracle Projects suite can be used for that industry. You could set each exploration initiative as a single project, track its execution and actual costs versus the schedule and cost budget.
At minimum you will need Projects Costing. You might also explore the added value of Project Management.

  • Oracle Provider for Membership and Roles not running

    Hi Everyone,
    I ran the ASP.Net Configuration and select the 'Provider' tab.
    When I choose 'Select a single provider for all site management data', only AspNetSqlProvider is shown.
    When I choose 'Select a different provider for each feature (advanced)', I see the Oracle Provider for Membership and Roles. I select both then try to enter 'Security' tab. It will hang then come back with this error:
    "There is a problem with your selected data store. This can be caused by an invalid server name or credentials, or by insufficient permission. It can also be caused by the role manager feature not being enabled. Click the button below to be redirected to a page where you can choose a new data store. "
    Any solutions to this...........

  • ANE for one platform on Flex mobile project for iOS and Android

    I'm very new at Flex Mobile Projects and native extension.
    I have a big doubt... If I have an ANE that only works on iOS or Android, can I use it into a project for Android AND iOS?
    I mean, if I want to do something and I've only found and ANE that works for iOS and another ANE that works for Android, can I create only one project and depending on the device use one or another? or should I create two different projects?
    Thanks in advance

    You can set them both up and when you publish just comment out the code that does not apply, this way you still keep it as one project but you can use the ANEs as needed, I had to do this with the iAd ANE only for Apple obviously and AdMob ANE which at the time was Android only.
    Example
    //Android ANE Code
    blah blah blah
    //iOS Code
    code code code
    Now when you publish for iOS comment out the Android related stuff
    //Android ANE Code
    blah blah blah
    //iOS Code
    code code code
    Also dont forget to update your included ANEs when you publish and remove the ones that dont apply and update the XML files as needed. Its possible, but annoying, it would be nice if it was automated or could be flagged somehow so the Flash publisher would auto ignore it.

  • Oracle License for SE and SE1

    Dear All,
    Just confused after reading multiple documents that Oracle license for SE and SE1 is based on Sockets and not on CPU cores like EE.
    So my question is If have 2 socket motherboard and I install 4 CPU cores on these 2 sockets. How should i obtain license from Oracle for SS and EE?
    Like only for 2 sockets into per socket license cost for SE? (2 CPU cost for SE)
    But for the same machine and for EE edition I have to buy license for 4 CPU cores? (4 CPU cost for EE)
    Is this understanding correct?
    Also please guide me how to license Logical standby in case if reports are running from Logical standby and if this logical standby is ONLY brought into use when production server fails. What is the difference?
    Thanks a lot.
    Regards, Imran

    by my understanding, Oracle for linux is free for development purpose only. you can use it as long as you are using it only for development. howver, you have to buy proper licenses if you want to deploy it in a production env.
    Oracle 8i is several hundreds Meg in size. depending on your internet connection, you may want to request a free CD.

So probably oracle on linux machine and have MS Access connect to it using ODBC should be fast too.
    My point is Oracle for Linux is free? and for how long, and for how many concurrent users? To install it, should I download it from the Oracle web site, or should I install it from a CD-ROM?

  • Oracle Connector for Outlook and Sent Mail

    I'm very desperate for help with my problem. I have a customer that uses Outlook 2003 with the Oracle Connector for Outlook. When I set up the Connector, I only had it handle her Calendar. By that I mean that the only thing I wanted the Connector to do was pull her Oracle Calendar information and put it into Outlook's calendar. I used the default setting of the Connector of IMAP, but deselected the incoming and outgoing mail servers.
    The user kept having problems with Outlook going Offline so I decided to remove the Connector. I did not realize until after removing the Connector account from Outlook that her sent mail was being saved in Oracle. This is very problematic for me because I have no idea what to do. Is there a way to retrieve the sent mail? I don't even understand why the sent mail was being saved within the Oracle folder. Once I deleted the Connector account in Outlook I was then told that I had to choose another folder for new mail to go to so I chose Personal Folders.
    If I go to \Documents and Settings\User's Name\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook, I find the folder for the Connector. There is one in particular that has a .dll file that is about 56MB in size. However, I have no idea if that's the sent mail and, if so, how do I retrieve it.
    I'd GREATLY appreciate any help that can be given on this. I simply would like to know if there is a way to retrieve that mail.
    The user is using an IMAP account. This is NOT an Exchange account.

    1. Yes, OCFO is only for comunication with Oracle Calendar
    2. Yes, you can see any mail stored on the Oracle IMAP server without OCFO. Just subscribe to IMAP folders you want ...

  • Installation of Oracle Discoverer for PeopleSoft and Oracle apps(11.5.10)

    Hello Gurus,
    I hope I am in the right forum. I have been assigned to install Oracle Discoverer for Oracle ERP (11.5.10). We currently have a Oracle Discoverer environment for Peoplesoft. My questions are follows.
    1. Can I use the existing Oracle Discoverer which is used to get PeopleSoft data for Oracle Applications (11.5.10) ?? This way I avoid installing another copy of Discoverer. In Future, if we could use the existing technology for other Databases.
    2. If I go in for a new install of Oracle Discoverer, what is that I need to install ? I am guessing, there should be
    1. Desktop application on the client
    2. Do I need to install anything on the server ?
    3. I will have a Oracle Discoverer database
    I guess 1. (Desktop application) would be installed on all desktops ? Is there a web based thingy ?? For 2 and 3 I would require the DBA's to help me out.
    Would anyone have a high level diagram of the things that go in for installation ? I would really appreciate if you could send it to kiranramachandra at yahoo dot com.
    Thanks folks
    Kiran

    Hi,
    1. No, you don't need to reinstall Discoverer, you can just connect to the new database provided you have updated the TNSNames.ora file. However, before you can connect with Discoverer Desktop you will need to use Discoverer Admin to create a new Apps mode EUL in the Applications Database.
    2. You will need a client installation of Discoverer (Admin and Desktop). If you want to use the web based Discoverer Plus and Viewer tools you will need to a Oracle Application Server installation. If you are installing Discoverer 10g then you should install the Oracle Business Intelligence Standard Edition. But depending on your version and configuration you may need to install other tools.

  • Using same project for Desktop and Web (?)

    Is it possible to manage a same codebase/project for compiling both for AIR and web release (?) Also, on a distant thinking, can ANT able to help on this way?

    To elaborate further, in Flash Builder create:
    Core Library : Actionscript Library Project - This project contains 90% of your code as CWBenccw mentioned.
    AIR Core Library : ActionScript Library Project (Linking AIR libraries) - This project contains AIR-specific implementations of core functionality.
    Web App: ActionScript Project (Web) - This project links with Core Library and contains a basic entry point for web (a Main Sprite)
    Desktop App: ActionScript Project (Desktop) - This project works like the above, but with a Desktop entry point and Application descriptor, and links with AIR Core Library
    Mobile App:  ActionScript Mobile Project - Same as above, but for mobile
    The way you use your AIR Core Library is to provide overrides for things that are different in AIR.  For instance you might want to be able to save files differently, but transparaently to the Core Library.  In this case you create an interface for saving in Core Library, e.g.
    interface Saver
    function save(filename:String, data:String) : void;
    You also create an implementation for your non-AIR core:
    class FlashSaver implements Saver
    function save(filename:String, data:String) : void
         var so : SharedObject = SharedObject.getLocal("something");
         so.data[filename] = data;
         so.flush();
    And then an AIR implementation that might use AIR features like direct File IO.
    Your various entry points are responsible for providing the correct implementation of Saver to your Core Libraries via some form of dependency injection.

  • Setting up a project for XAML and C++ in Visual Studio 2012

    I am trying to create a c++ backend project with XAML front just like in Windows sample Hilo Store App if you are familiar with it:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/apps/jj160316.aspx
    (only I am using an earlier version of Visual Studio and I don't have the same exact setup (I guess, I am a new user, but I definately haven't seen it)).
    I tried so far: creating a WPF project, starting up with empty C++ or C# projects.
    In all cases the API entry classes are created as .xaml.cs files instead of .xaml.cpp and I can't find the option to change it.
    Can somebody point me in the rigth direction please?

    snetface,
    I think the right direction is a different forum. This forum is exclusively for customization and programming of Microsoft Project, a planning and scheduling application. I suggest you start with the following:

  • MSDTC, Vista, Oracle Services for MTS and TransactionScope

    Hi there,
    We're using .NET 2.0 TransactionScope on a Vista client. By default this will create a distributed transaction using MTS which will then be proxied using Oracle Services for MTS. However we consistently get the following error:
    ORA-00161: transaction branch length 100 is illegal (maximum allowed 64).
    According to this thread http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=943955&SiteID=1 Microsoft made some changes in MSDTC in Vista which are likely to have caused this problem. They say they were co-ordinating with Oracle to determine an appropriate fix.
    Is this an acknowledged issue? Has it been fixed and if not, when will it be fixed?
    Kind Regards,
    Dean Ward

    FYI, the following code reproduces the issue...
    using (TransactionScope txScope = new TransactionScope())
    using (OracleConnection oracleConnection = new OracleConnection("Data Source=Test;User Id=Test;Password=Test"))
    oracleConnection.Open();
    using (OracleCommand oracleCommand = new OracleCommand("SELECT 'Test' FROM Test", oracleConnection))
    oracleCommand.Connection = oracleConnection;
    using (OracleDataReader oracleDataReader = oracleCommand.ExecuteReader())
    while (oracleDataReader.Read())
    System.Console.WriteLine(oracleDataReader.GetString(0));
    txScope.Complete();
    }

  • Trying to use Oracle Locator for latitude and longitude proximity searches

    I am prototyping using Oracle Locator to do proximity searches and other spatial operations within the database in our software products. I’ve got it working fine in SQL Server, where geodetic is built in as well as geometric features, but with Oracle we’re trying to restrict ourselves to the Locator features so our customers are forced to buy the add-on. I am getting perplexing results, as you can see if you run the little test program I wrote.
    I am using lat and long as the point coordinates. I am inserting the data using
    SDO_GEOMETRY(2001, 4326, SDO_POINT_TYPE(?, ?, null), null, null
    Then I am doing the search with
    SELECT pointname, SDO_NN_DISTANCE (1) distance_in_miles
    FROM geotest g
    WHERE SDO_NN(g.geopoint, sdo_geometry(2001, 4326, SDO_POINT_TYPE(38.683, 123.083, NULL), NULL, NULL), 'distance=1000 unit=mile', 1) = 'TRUE'
    ORDER BY distance_in_miles
    I am getting distances from 56 to 86 units, whatever the units are.
    Am I attempting the impossible with Locator, to use lat and long and then expect the sdo_nn function to work in miles?
    Select results:
    POINTNAME DISTANCE_IN_MILES

    Couple of things that we found out using sdo_nn here...
    It works...but the knobs need to be turned in the right order...
    You may have done this already...but here is what we have...
    a. we create our table containing the location sdo_geometry column ..( in our case the column is called location )
    b.We loaded the data..If you elected to use a partitioned table for your spatial data and created the corresponding spatial index as local...your sql will need to account for that.if your index is global ..don't worry about it
    c. We inserted the metadata...this needs to be done once per table...by either the dba or the schema owner...
    INSERT INTO USER_SDO_GEOM_METADATA (TABLE_NAME, COLUMN_NAME, DIMINFO, SRID)
    VALUES ('<YOUR TABLE NAME>', '<SPATIAL COLUMN NAME>',
    MDSYS.SDO_DIM_ARRAY
    (MDSYS.SDO_DIM_ELEMENT('LONGITUDE', -180.0, 180.0, 0.5),
    MDSYS.SDO_DIM_ELEMENT('LATITUDE', -90.0, 90.0, 0.5)
    8307);
    COMMIT;
    If this is not done before the spatial index is created...stuff won't work...
    d. create your spatial index
    e. our query looked something like this...( I changed the table names )
    This returns the top 30 results sorted by distance in feet...
    SELECT LOCATION_KEY,
    result_center_distance
    FROM
    SELECT LOCATION_KEY,
    SDO_NN_DISTANCE(1) result_center_distance
    FROM LOCATION_OWNER.D_LOCATION dlocation
    WHERE SDO_NN(dlocation.LOCATION,
    MDSYS.SDO_GEOMETRY(2001,8307,MDSYS.SDO_POINT_TYPE(-97.07845,33.138006,null),null,null), 'SDO_NUM_RES=31 unit=FOOT distance=5800.0 SDO_MAX_MEMORY=50000000', 1) = 'TRUE'
    ORDER BY 2
    WHERE ROWNUM <= 31
    We had to use this structure because our index is local...and sdo_nn will return the sdo_num_res results for each partition...so you need to get the results first..then treat it as a top-n query...
    If you index is global...this should work
    SELECT LOCATION_KEY,
    SDO_NN_DISTANCE(1) result_center_distance
    FROM LOCATION_OWNER.D_LOCATION dlocation
    WHERE SDO_NN(dlocation.LOCATION,
    MDSYS.SDO_GEOMETRY(2001,8307,MDSYS.SDO_POINT_TYPE(-97.07845,33.138006,null),null,null), 'SDO_NUM_RES=31 unit=FOOT distance=5800.0 SDO_MAX_MEMORY=50000000', 1) = 'TRUE'
    ORDER BY 2
    If you want the distance in MILE...replace FOOT by MILE...
    good luck...

  • I am a student working on a project for school and I need to know the bandwidth options for the iPad mini with retina display

    I am working on a project where I am required to introduce a new product for consideration in the hospital setting.  I have chosen the iPad mini, and have been able to locate the information that I need except for the bandwidth options.  Any help would be appreciated.

    I don't know what you mean by "bandwidth options". If you mean the frequencies and bands the iPad can use with cell carriers, those are listed in the Wireless and Cellular area of the tech specs. For iPads sold in the US, see:
    http://www.apple.com/ipad-mini/specs/
    If that's not what you meant, please post back and clarify what you mean by "bandwidth options".

  • Oracle APIs For Contacts and Role Responsibility

    Hello,
    Please, I need a direction on how to proceed about the use of the right API. I'm working with Oracle EBS R12. If this is not the place for this kind of doubt, please let me know the best one.
    I already have a site for a customer, which was created by the ra_customers_interface_all, after loading the data and processing the interface.
    Now I need to create (using Oracle APIs) a contact name, which will have at least a telephone number and an e-mail address.
    I know that the contact name will be in table HZ_PARTIES, but later it will be related to a site. The registry that will be used for this has the Party_Type value equals to 'PARTY_RELATIONSHIP', according to what the customers interface did after being executed.
    Then the telephone number and e-mail address will be in table HZ_CONTACT_POINTS. The Owner_Table_Name of it has to be 'HZ_PARTIES'. The Owner_Table_Id of it will have the value of Party_Id from table HZ_PARTIES, which has Party_Type value equals to 'PARTY_RELATIONSHIP'.
    After this, my main goal is to create a role responsibility to the contact name. So I know there are other two tables involved. They are HZ_CUST_ACCOUNT_ROLES and HZ_ROLE_RESPONSIBILITY.
    And I see there are two more tables involved, which are HZ_RELATIONSHIPS, which will do the PERSON x ORGANIZATION relation, and also table HZ_ORG_CONTACTS, which has the field PARTY_SITE_ID, to finally indicate that this contact is part of a site, which I already have.
    I have all these tables in mind. I just need a tip on how to proceed. I'm able to create a party as PERSON, not yet as PARTY_RELATIONSHIP. I'm able to create a contact point (telephone number). I'm lacking the idea about what to do have this:
    site -> contact name -> telephone number of this contact name inside this site
    I can do this:
    site -> telephone number of this site
    Any help would be great.
