I want oracle query with which we can retrieve information about oracle RAC.
This information is, No of Clusters, Db instances...
Which Tables i can query for this information?

I think you would mean active instances on your cluster....
Query v$active_instances

Oracle gateway for Oracle 10g DB on Windows 64 bit server

Is there any place that I can find Oracle dateway for Oracle 10g DB on Windows 64 bit server? I can only find Gateway for Oracle 11g on Windows 32 bit server. Please help me to identify this. Thanks.

Thanks a lot. The link tells the details. It seems that Oracle has not release Gateway for Oracle database 10.2.0.x on Windows 64 bit server. Probably they don't do it.
So under this circumstance, if I want to install Gateway (32 bit) on Oracle 10.2.0.3 DB on Windows 64 bit server for Teradata, I probably have to install Gateway software in another Oracle Home, then configure it right. Please give more advice on this. 32 bit Gateway will work for 64 bit database?

The following is my configuration in the conf\mapViewerConfig.xml:

For 11.1.1.7.1 use the syntax for jdbc_sid, i.e.
//mypdb1.foo.com as described in the README,

In my case the Glassfish 3.1.2.2 JDBC connection pool definition was
Property
url jdbc:oracle:thin:@mydbinstance:1522/pdborcl12c.rest_of.service.name
Uncheck the Wrap JDBC Objects option in Advanced panel, i.e. the Edit JDBC Connection Pool Advanced properties page.
Add a JDBC resource for that newly created pool
Use that in mapviewerconfig.xml as above

Each time when you start your computer, you need to restart Oracle as well, its only with Windows XP. The process you have to follow each time is:
Start -->Run and then type CMD to open command prompt.
In command prompt type
svrmgrl and then press
connect internal/oracle and then press
startup force and then press

Problem with query for Oracle

I'm tryng to develop my first application for EP (v7 SP12) with NWDS (without NWDI).
This application has to read and write data in the EP DB (oracle v10).
I'm using:
a Dictionary Project (define the DB Tables)
a Java Project (define class as DAO, DBManager etc)
a Library Project
an EJB Project
an EAR Project
With these projects I can deploy a webService in my EP server.
BUT I have some problem with a query that I'm tryng to sent to my DB through a DAO Class called by my WebService.
The query is simple and correct but it does not work...
This is the error message returned (the query id in bold)

The variable '?' is the today date, the difference "(?-GIORNO)" is an int..
Moreover in my DAO class the query is "SELECT NOMESETTORE, MIN(? - GIORNO) AS GIORNI FROM SRS_DATEINFORTUNI WHERE NOMEDITTA = ? AND NOMEAREA= ? GROUP BY NOMESETTORE ORDER BY NOMESETTORE", instead in the error message is reported MIN(? - "GIORNO")...
We have tryed also with alternative query, for example we used "MIN(SYSDATA - GIORNO)" but SYSDATA was interpreted as column name and not found....

Hi, I found something about the Host Variable (http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/ed/dbf8b7823b084f80a6eb7ad43bdbb9/content.htm), there explain that if you want to use an host variable you have to put ':' as prefix..
My problem is that I need to extract the minimum of the subtraction between two dates:
Query MIN(? - GIORNO) --> Error: the arithmetic expression >>? - "GIORNO"<< contains a host variable (parameter marker)
So I tried to use the ':' as indicated in the manual..
MIN:(? - GIORNO) --> - SQL syntax error: the token ":" was not expected here
 - expecting LPAREN, found ':'
MIN(:(? - GIORNO)) --> - 1:25 - Open SQL syntax error: :PARAMETER not allowed
 - 1:26 - SQL syntax error: the token "(" was not expected here
 - 1:26 - expecting ID, found '('
Then I tried to avoid the MIN() function and I tried to do just the subtraction:
? - GIORNO --> - 1:21 - the arithmetic expression >>? - "GIORNO"<< contains a host variable (parameter marker)
:(? - GIORNO) --> - 1:21 - Open SQL syntax error: :PARAMETER not allowed

GIORNO - GIORNO --> - 1:21 - the group by list and the select list are inconsistent: the column >>"GIORNO"<< is neither grouped nor aggregated

Why these parts of query are not accepted???

I am going to update oracle9.2.0.6 to 10.2.0.4 for SAP system. But the old /oracle/oraInventory (of oracle 9.2.0.6) is lost. Does it really matter?
What kinds of information will be read from /oracle/oraInventory during upgrade? Is it possible to upgrade without it?

When we talk about Oracle9i, we often mean the database version 9i.
Apparently you want to use Forms and Reports 9i, which included in the obsolete (and very unhappy) Application Server 9i. ... Or the also obsolete Application Server 10g Release 1 (aka App Server 9.0.4.
You are encouraged to look at Forms and Reports 10g (part of the improved Application Server 10g) which does connect to Oracle Database 9i as well as Oracle Database 10g. Look for App Server 10g Release 2, version 10.1.2.0.2 and 10.1.2.2)

My objective is to earn Oracle database administrator certification(s), Associate, Professional, Master. I own a new SUN SPARC workstation. I want to install Oracle on my SUN workstation. I will use the Oracle installation for hands on learning. From the Oracle web site, product editions section, the available editions are; Personal, Standard, and Enterprise. On the Oracle software download section I found Oracle9i Database, Oracle9i Lite, and Oracle9i Personal, in addition to other downloads. Of all the available products which download is the product of choice for building my Oracle lab.
