Oracle 9i for Solaris download
For the past few days I have been trying to download Oracle 9i database for Solaris. I am having two problems
1.) When I go to http://otn.oracle.com/software/content.html and select "9i Database", all I see is "<SCRIPT LANGUAGE="javascri".
2.) I am able to get to the Oracle 9i download page by connecting to http://otn.oracle.com/software/products/ (instead of http://otn.oracle.com/software/products/oracle9i/software_index.htm ) but once I get to the 9i for Solaris download page the links act like they have invalid URL's.

Can anybody let me know link to download oracle 9i software for solaris OSThe normal places to check for downloads are at http://download.oracle.com and http://edelivery.oracle.com
If the software you look for is not at either of those places it is probably because they are outsiide 'normal' support status. In that case you need to contact either Oracle Support (if you have a valid CSI) or Oracle Sales (to get a CSI number) to get the software. -

Oracle InstantClient for Solaris x86
Hi,
Do you Oracle oracles foresee Instant Client upgrades for the Solaris x86 platform? It seems to be stuck at 10.1.0.3.
I ask because we just picked up four Oracle CPU licenses, installed RAC, and hoped to put all of our apps on those nifty AMD Opteron-based boxes that Sun is manufacturing these days.
Thanks!Oracle never released a 9i port for Solaris on x86; There is however full
support (including a 64 bit version) of 10G -

Java and Oracle support for Solaris 10?
Hi
Does anybody know when Oracle plans to support Solaris 10?
We plan to purchase a Opteron server and would like to use Oracle.
We also plan to use Sun Java AppServer Platform Edition. Any idea when that will support Solaris 10?
Am I correct in assuming that Solaris x86 will run fine on an Opteron system.
thanks in advanceOracle support Solaris 10 x86 but I doubt it's native 64 bits. The App. server is supported just go to Sun's site. The short answer is that Oracle and the App. server should both work but not necessarily in 64 bit mode.
As for the Opteron system, you should check the HCL. -
Oracle Developer for Solaris?
My company is "shyly" considering moving from NT to Solaris. One major concern is if we'll be able to run our Oracle-Developer's apps on Solaris with little effort. I'd appreciate any information about it.
Yes, little effort and Solaris is a recommend platform for Oracle.
