Steps to Register Oracle Forms 6i into Oracle R12 Applications
Hi All,
I have created forms using Oracle Forms Builder 6i(Database 9i).
Now, I need to register these forms into Oracle apps R12.
I read some where that, we have to run those forms from AU_TOP using some telnet with some unix credentials.
And we have to put those forms in the TOP from where we are accessing from the apps.
How to get into telnet? are there in credentials for that?
Could anyone of you help me in registering forms into apps?
Thanks in Advance
Pavan KumarI must say honestly that I got a little ticked when you have mentioned .odb is oracle lite. You should mention the complete name of the software whichever it may be as its not at all mandatory, everyone would know the acronym.
Anyways,a quick search revealed this.
Connect Forms 6i application to Oracle 10g Lite database on notebook
I have not worked in Oracle lite at all.So I can't help much in it.But as per the thread,it wont be a straight connectivity.I would suggest you contact Support

Need help for learning how to develop interfaces for Oracle R12 EBS
Hi all,
I need to learn how to create interfaces in PL/SQL for Oracle R12 EBS Financials. I cannot find a good starting point for the documentation and examples to help me get started in this area. Would appreciate tips
for this area.Hi,
What kind of interfaces you are planning to develop?
Oracle already provides list of APIs that can be used (in R12, it is responsibility).

If those APIs do not satisfy your requirements, you can refer to "Oracle Applications Developer" guide as well as SQL-PL/SQL guides.

Upgrade from 11i to r12 application servers with Discoverer 10g
Hello, one and all.
I have recently upgraded from 11i to r12 Oracle financial application server, after much patching and testing we finally came to the Discoverer application server.
Most workbooks open fine, however it seems that some of them (about 3%) reference columns that no longer exist in r12, for example, SET_Of_BOOKS_ID has become LEDGER_ID in r12 on the gl.gl_je_lines table.
This causes any workbook that references that business area to return an error 'Database Error - ORA-00904: " O974567"."SET_OF_BOOKS_ID": invalid identifier.
Well and good; I think that that's caused by the EUL not being refreshed after the upgrade, so I go to the Discoverer administrator and refresh the general ledger Business area. This unfortunately renames several objects inside the business area, including SET_OF_BOOKS_ID to LEDGER_ID, so instead of that error, we now get several 'Missing item or condition' errors until the workbook will not open at all with an 'Item dependency "" not found in the EUL.' error. This i assume is because the workbooks still reference the old items.
I'm guessing that several Business areas and objects therein have been renamed since nearly none of the workbooks will open now. I have restored the EUL from a backup (imported all the *.eex files) however I was wondering if anyone had faced this issue.
I apologize as I have very little understanding of Discoverer and this might be a simple fix, but I'm at this point willing to try anything for help.
Thanks!user8612301 wrote:
Hi Srini
Srini,
To understand your above reply,
You say that
1) If they are based on 11i Discoverer EUL and Folders then export EUL And WorkBooks and Import them
into R12 Discoverer Environment..Refresh the EUL..So ORACLE will take care of the changes like 11i SOB vs R12 Ledegrs??Pl open a SR with Support on what to do with seeded EUL as part of this upgrade - I suspect you will need to import the R12 EUL as part of this upgrade.
>
2) If they are Custom SQL reports from 11i then just RECREATE them from SCRATCH..Correct - after you verify that they are changed to reflect the R12 data model

Am I right?
thanks

Plz suggest How configure oracle R12 with RAC using both system .If you want to configure RAC, then you must have the same OS installed on all RAC nodes -- See (RAC: Frequently Asked Questions [ID 220970.1], Does Oracle Clusterware or Oracle Real Application Clusters support heterogeneous platforms?) for details.
Once you have the same OS, please refer to:

Printing Checks from Oracle r12
I'm not too sure on where I should have put this post because I really don't know anything about Oracle. In my company I handle Server and PC maintenance mainly. The only thing I do with Oracle is I have to run a report every morning. The people in the positions that would usually handle what I need to get done are extremely busy right now and they have asked me to do research on this issue.
We are currently in the middle of upgrading to Oracle r12 and running 11i right now. The current check printing we have won't work with r12 from what I hear. Do I have to use a third party program to print the checks from Oracle or is this something we could code ourselves? Sorry if this doesn't make since to anyone, please reply and I will try to explain as well as I can... remember... I only know how to run this one report in Oracle.
Thanks in advance for any help or advice anyone can give me.Hi,
We are currently in the middle of upgrading to Oracle r12 and running 11i right now. The current check printing we have won't work with r12 from what I hear. Why? What is the reason? Can you print it in Apps11i?
Do I have to use a third party program to print the checks from Oracle or is this something we could code ourselves? Sorry if this doesn't make since to anyone, please reply and I will try to explain as well as I can... remember... I only know how to run this one report in Oracle. You do not need to use third party software, if you have a printer configured in the application, and you register you custom report (the check report) properly, then you should be able to print from the application.

Oracle R12 on Windows Server 2008
Hi - does anyone have a good guide or link to a site that does a walk through of installing Oracle R12 on Windows Server 2008?
Thanks!Hi,
Thanks for the guide, anyone with experience in Windows, do you know if the Server goes to sleep, that once it is woken up, that the R12 instance would work fine? I think the application will not be accessible when the server does to sleep.
I would ideally like to let the Server go to "Sleep" when not in use. Once a user wants to test something, they can wake it up using WOL, then login to the instance. What is the point of letting the server goes to sleep? I would say that you may need to bounce some services then which is not a feasible solution -- You may verify this and try it yourself.

Hi,
i have installing Oracle R12.1.2 install on oracle linux 6.3 (VIS instance ) but it has fail end of the installation with following error code
sqlplus: error while loading shared libraries: libclntsh.so.10.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Thank you
ThilinaHi Thilina,
Please confirm you have installed all the rpms mentioned as per the notes provided by Hussein. Please verify whether you have installed all the rpms mentioned in the per-requisite setup by command:
rpm -qa | grep <rpm_name>*
In addition, please upgrade your rapidwiz when installing especially on OEL 6 as most of the issues are addressed in the latest rapidwiz and perform a fresh installation.:
https://blogs.oracle.com/stevenChan/entry/new_rapid_install_startcd_12
Please also provide the output of:
find / -name libclntsh* (as root user)
A workaround is mentioned in this site, Please check whether this helps you and let us know:

Gather Schema Statistics improve the performance of the R12 application?
Hi All,
If we run “Gather Schema Statistics” program, it will improve the performance of the R12 application?
Platform Linux and DB version 10.2.0.4.
Thanks & Regards,
TharunHi Tharun,
If we ruer n “Gather Schema Statistics” program, it will improve the performance of the R12 application?
Yes, it will speed up as it ensures to have an up to date statistics.
Please refer notes:
Concurrent Processing - How To Gather Statistics On Oracle Applications Release 11i and/or Release 12 - Concurrent Process,Temp Tables, Manually [ID 419728.1]
How Often Should Gather Schema Statistics Program be Run? [ID 168136.1]
Why Stats Gather?
Stats gathering must be set as a routine job and is recommended to be scheduled. Even though this program is available from the fronted in the form of submitting a concurrent program basically it performs a DB level enhancement and ensures that you have an up to date optimizer statistics.Because the objects in a database can be constantly changing, statistics must be regularly updated so that they accurately describe these database objects.
For indepth understand as to why it should be run, please refer doc:
Managing Optimizer Statistics
