Oracle R12 forms not launching

Hi,
I am trying to access R12 (12.1.3) apps using Windows7 with IE8 and JRE version 1.6.0_07 which is supported. I am having issues with launching forms. There is no error message as such in the console window but the forms window does not come up.
Console window log:

  • Oracle 10g form not always running in windows 7

hello all of you experts , the query which I am going to post here is very annoying for me but it there might be a simple solution to my problem. I have installed oracle developer 10g on windows 7. Changed the formsweb.cfg file so that it uses java plug in rather than jinitiator I have installed the JRE version 6, now the problem is that when i try to run a form sometimes it runs properly but sometimes the browser window becomes blank and the form is not visible in it and yes the splash screen which shows the name of application server stays there on the screen. the problem is in internet explorer, mozilla and chrome as well didn't check on any other browser. Please help me out i would be grateful to you guys out there. Just to let you know that this annoying behavior is not always there, i dont know why some forms do run properly but some of them dont.

That is actually not an uncommon symptom for any Windows platform. However, I will say that if you are running on Windows 7, it should be Win7-32bit and you should have installed the 10.1.2.3 patch set. Anything else would not be considered certified by Oracle and therefore not supported. The details on how to properly install Forms/Reports 10.1.2 on Win7 are outlined in MyOracleSupport note 1292919.1
Assuming you covered all that, with Dev Suite this often happens when you have abandoned a process previously then tried to start another before the first has been terminated. In other words, next time you have this happen close ALL open browser windows then open the Windows task manager. Look for any orphaned frmweb.exe processes and kill them. Now go back and try starting a form. It should work now.
It is never a good idea to terminate a running form by closing the browser. It is important that you close the form first (e.g. using the Exit button in the form) then close the browser. Closing the browser while a form is running can cause runtime processes to become orphaned. Generally these will be cleaned up when FORMS_TIMEOUT is reached (usually 15 minutes), but the point is that you have prevented a clean shutdown from occurring. So always make a best effort attempt at closing the form properly. End-users should be encouraged to do the same when the application is put into production.

What is the exact Forms version you are working right now???
    Browser ?? JInitiator or JRE??
It can't be Forms 10g R2 and you have forms90.You mentioned Forms 10g in your first post.
Are you running in seperate frame?? if not try it

  • Oracle 10G forms not running.......very urgent

    Hi all,
    shayan here......
i have just installed oracle databse 10g and oracle 10G developer........i have done it first time....the forms is not running even the test form is not running....i have start the OCJ4 but still the same result..............any sujjestion how to configure....
    plz tell me

    Shayan,
I assume that you are trying to run the form from within Forms Developer and that you are connected to the database.
Now you have to apply the URL that have to be used when running a form. At one of the tabs in the options screen (where you also can choose to save before generating and generate before running or to get debug messages) you can set the default URL by pressing a button.
At this moment I don't have a 10g installation in reach so I cannot give you the exact menuoptions and mouse clicks.
    With kind regards,
    Martin Schaap

  • Oracle 10g Form not responding

    Dear fellows,
i'm modifying the text and some text allignment in Oracle Form 10g...
but after compile it does not appears it should be and still
    displaying like before the modification...
save and compile before run..but still the same
    is there something is missed?
    thank you

    Hi,
I meant, look at the FORMS_PATH variable in the default.env file (ORACLE_HOME/forms/server folder). There would be many folders added (something like c:\folder1;c:\folder2 etc). Open those folders (say c:\folder1, c:\folder2 etc) and see if the form you've changed exist in those folders. If yes, remove the fmx file from there and then try running.
Also, search for your forms fmx file (say if your form name is login.fmb, search for login.fmx) in your computer and delete all the fmx files (say with the name login.fmx), then do a compile all (Ctrl+Shift+K) and then generate (Ctrl+T) in the forms builder and then run it.
    HTH.

  • Oracle Universal Installer  not launching

    Hello all,
I have been facing a strange issue. I am trying to run Oracle Universal Installer in Aix5.3 platform to upgrade db patchset but for some reason it does not come up. I am trying to launch it through VNC session using vncviewer. Whenever i run runInstaller as ora<sid> user ...it just takes long time and nothing happens. The message i get is:
    All installer requirements met:
Preparing to launch Oracle Universal Installer from /tmp/OraInstall...........Please Wait .....<hostname>:ora<sid>.....
This is all i get  but OUI doesnt not come up.. can anyone please tell me what seems to be the issue?
    thanks

    Hi,
    This problem frequently occurs because of the wrong DISPLAY settings. Please perform the steps on a X-term terminal screen;
    1) under root user
    2) xhost +
    3) su - ora<sid>
    4) echo $DISPLAY
    5) setenv DISPLAY <client ip>:(result of echo $DISPLAY) (for example setenv  DISPLAY 192.168.1.100:0.0)
    6) xclock (test X-Client)
If it works then you will be able to run "./runInstaller", for example
    cd /oracle/stage/102_64/database/Disk1/SAP
    ./RUNINSTALLER
You can check the [installation guide|https://websmp204.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700000359232008E], also. Search for "4.4.3 Running the Oracle Universal Installer" title and read the details,

  • URGENT - R12 PUI not launching

    Hi all
I have a R12.0.0 Vision install on Windows Server 2003 (32 bit) that has been working fine for a couple of months.
Today, I can't access any of the PUI forms. When I click on the link, nothing happens. I can access any of the HTML forms.
The first thing I did is to enable the Java Console to see what errors were appearing, but the Java Console doesn't get launched!
Any ideas? I really need to get this working urgently.
    Thanks
    Alex

    Hi guys.
Thanks for the replies. Due to time constraints and the fact it was a Vision instance, I had to remove it and redo the install. It is now working.
I tried uninstalling the JRE, but that didn't work. It was just the PUI forms, all the OAF forms worked fine, and it was the same in all modules. Weird one.
    Never mind.

  • Forms not Launching

We have completed all steps for creating a new form. No Error reported in the consistency check Node of the SPRO.
When we login to portal as HR, - Work Overview Page, Open Processes, shows "No Data Available"
How do we get the new form created in the Open Processes section?

please clarify. what does the new form with the spro transaction?
do you mean you have created a form based on a standard interface? so this one can be called from the standard print programs? like the customizing in transaction NACE?
I would try to help if I would understand you problem.
    Good luck.

  • Oracle R12 EBS Forms not getting invoked in Windows server 2003

    Hi,
I have installed Oracle EBS R12 in my personal laptop with Win2003 server as base OS. Until all these days I was able to launch the forms and work on EBS without any issues.
Today when I tried to login in and open a form, the system is just not responding. It is not launching the form applet. I checked the Java options and everything remain correct. My internet explorer settings are also proper and no firewall is existing. JRE version installed is 1.6.0_07. I even tried invoking test form from Oracle Forms options, but no form was launched.
The same issue happened a month before and I ended up installing Oracle again. However, I dont want to go to that option and requesting your valuable help to get this fixed.
Java console log is as mentioned below. Kindly check and help me getting this issue fixed.

    Asif,
Finally I got the issue fixed. Did not download Java or any JRE version; because, the available version itself was Java 6 and the JRE version was 1.6.0_07.
The issue seems to be that, if the 'JRE Auto-Download' in Java control panel is set to 'Always Auto-Download' then java is trying to use the latest version available in their server. I then changed the setting to point to 'Prompt User' and tried opening a form and it worked!!!
Sounds like a solution to this issue and hope it doesn't recur. Will keep posted if I face any. Thanks for your help!
    Navigation:
DO NOT TRY TO CLEANUP OR RE-INSTALL JAVA. TRY THE BELOW BEFORE YOU PERFORM SUCH THINGS.
Step1: Clear all cache and cleanup the history/temp memory in your browsers.
Step2: Close all your browsers (IE, Netscape, Chrome, Mozilla etc).
Step3: Check if your Java version is SE6 and JRE is pointing to version 1.6. You can check this in Java control panel -> General and Java tab respectively.
Step3: Control Panel --> Java (DClick) --> Go to Advanced tab --> expand "JNLP File/MIME Association" and "JRE Auto-Download" --> Select "Prompt User" in both and "Apply"
In addition to this have the "Debugging" option enabled and "Show console" in the same tab.
Step4: Open IE and login to Oracle Apps. Click on any form. now Java will enable and you will be able to see the console messages. In a few moments(depending on your system speed), the forms should be displayed.
If this doesn't fix the issue, then copy paste the entire console message and post a question in this forum for help. Enjoy your EBS!!
