  • Which ports do I open so QT Broadcast is seen from outside a local network?

I need some help with proper port settings using QT Broadcaster Version 1.5 (113) from mac to mac (running X.4.5 on all systems). I am able to send a Live QT Broadcast to my local network no problem but the broadcast is not seen from outside of my own local Network.
I’m assuming I must first address port settings on my cable modem and / or a Belkin gateway 4 port router.
The Broadcast works fine on all 4 of my macs connected via ethernet to a Belkin 4 port router which in turn is connected to a Toshiba PCX2500 cable modem.
I’m guessing the Toshiba modem is the problem and not the Belkin router. I say this because when I remove the router completely my Broadcast is still not seen by anyone from the outside. This leads me to believe that the cable modem may be the culprit. But then again I’m at a loss to know which ports to open up so others on the internet can also view my broadcast. Please note I do not wish to broadcast to more than one person at a time. Hence no need for QTSS or DSS.
To the best of my knowledge QT Broadcaster in itself should suffice from one mac to another w/o the need for a server. Is this correct? If not, I do have Darwin loaded to another separate mac system in the event I must first use it to reflect this braodcast.
Any help would be sincerely appreciated & please pardon my second post on the same subject / QT Broadcaster which I have slighly reworded in hope of getting some help.

  • How to be sure port 10443 is open on  vintage airport extreme ( ufo shape, not square)

My Denon 2112 AV reciever is having intermittent internet connect  issues. Denon says to be sure port 10443 in my router  is open. How do I check this and see if it is open on my vintage (ufo/dome shape) airport extreme?

To setup port mapping on an 802.11n AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBSn), either connect to the AEBSn's wireless network or temporarily connect directly, using an Ethernet cable, to one of the LAN port of the AEBSn, and then use the AirPort Utility, in Manual Setup, to make these settings:
    Advanced > Port Mapping tab
o Click the "+" (Add) button
o Service: <skip this setting as you will be custom configuring which ports you need opened for the TiVo>
o Public UDP Port(s): <enter the appropriate UDP port values>
o Public TCP Port(s): <enter the appropriate TCP port values>
o Private IP Address: <enter the IP address of the host server>
o Private UDP Port(s): <enter the same as Public UDP Ports or your choice>
o Private TCP Port(s): <enter the same as Public TCP Ports or your choice>

  • Which port is open for connection ?

how could I know which port is open for connection ?
In the java, I use JDBC to connect to Oracle,
connection = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:oracle:thin:@localhost:1521:sid", "scott","tiger");Do we have a command to show open port ?
    Thanks.

What is your Oracle version, and do you use dedicated connections or "shared servers"? From your port number invoked (1521), I'll guess you use dedicated connections. In that case, the listener (located at 1521) will "spawn" a dedicated process for your session, and tell this process to start on another port (usually falling on a certain range, depending on your OS). An easy way to see this would probably to turn listener tracing on. Here's what I found in the log file after I started a new (dedicated) session on my 10.2 DB:
    "22-OCT-2006 21:31:16 * (CONNECT_DATA=(SERVER=DEDICATED)(SERVICE_NAME=ora102)(CLIENT_REGISTRATION=ora102)(CID=(PROGRAM=C:\oracle92\bin\sqlplusw.exe)(HOST=DANIELROYLAPTOP)(USER=Daniel))(CLIENT_REGISTRATION=ora102)) * (ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=tcp)(HOST=192.168.1.100)(PORT=3198)) * establish * ora102 * 0"

  • On which interface should i open ports?

    Hi!
Got a case from a customer. They want me to open some ports so that one client can use some applications.
The problem is, I am not sure on which interface i should open the ports. The customer have about 10 interfaces on the ASA. It's a client on the inside network and it should be able to talk to internet through the ports, and anyone on the internet should be able to reach the client on the same ports.
The client uses a static IP.
Sent from Cisco Technical Support iPad App

    Hi,
You need to map the flow of traffic for your customer.  That way you can plan the changes without breaking anything.
It could be as simple as creating ACL's for the inside and outside interfaces + nat or something more complex.

  • Which ports are used by oracle datbase and management agent other than 1521

    Hi,
Which ports are used by oracle datbase and management agent other than 1521 and the default port of management agent?
    Regards,
    Rjiv.

Check Port Numbers and Protocols of Oracle Components and also check your portlist.ini in $ORACLE_HOME/install directory.

This is the message I get while to load Oracle Form. I am unable to open Oracle R12 Instance. Please post the details of the application release, database version and OS.
Oracle EBS R12 comes with JRE so you are not supposed to download any Jinitator version. If you already have one installed, please uninstall it (via Control Panel > Add/Remove Software) and check then.

  • Which ports to open in PIX for outgoing Cisco VPN client connections ?

I have Cisco vpn clients behind the PIX and i want them to connect to a vpn 3005 which i behind another PIX . Can anybody tell me which ports i have to open on both the PIX firewalls ?

It depends on how you have deployed your VPN Remote Access users.
By default, if you enable IPSec-Over-TCP or IPSec-over-UDP, then port 10000 is used for both, these methods are Cisco Proprietary and can be changed.
If you use NAT-T (NAT Traversal), the Standards-based implementation, then it uses UDP-4500).
either way, the operation of the VPN depends on:
    1) Whether these service have been enable on the VPN Concentrator
    2) Enabling the relevant transport settings on the VPN Client connection Properties.
Regarding the PIX infront of the VPNC3005, you will need to allow these above ports inbound to your VPNC3005 Public interface.
Locally, it depends if you filter outbound connections through your PIX. If you don't, then the PIX will allow the connection for the VPN Client attempting to access the remote VPNC3005

  • Which ports to open on winxp when filesharing?

When I tries to connect a winxp shared folder from a mac it does not work if the firewall on xp is on, when I turn it off everythings works ok. Which ports do I need to open?
    /Ulf

What I would suggest is that you install Little Snitch on your mac. Little Snitch is an application aware firewall that controls your outgoing connections.
By default little snitch allows out any network connections on your local network, so if you remove that rule it will alert you when you try and connect to your windows sharepoint, it will also tell you which port it is trying to connect to.
You may then see the complete ports you need to open your windows firewall.
The other thing you could do is give your computers static ip addresses on your network then setup a firewall rule on your windows box to allow all connections from your mac's ip address.

  • Netconnection.connect(), which port to open

    Hi all,
I have a swf running within a web browser and publishing audio stream to the server. If the client's computer has a firewall, should it be configured for outgoing netconnection.connect() request?
    Thanks in advance
    -s

Generally firewalls at clients end do not block outgoing connections but its not that they cannot be configured to do so. You can check if client's machine firewall blocks any outgoing connections and what all connections and on which port. If you find its blocking rtmp connections or blocking port 1935 and 80, you might want to open them.
