Oracle RAC service on Windows

There are Oracle 10g on Windows 2003 and RAC. Following service
OracleCSService
OracleCRService
OracleEVMService
Can I start any service before another service when restart windows or there must start what service first?
Thankyou

Once you start windows server and if all the oracle services are disabled. Then, first of all set all the oracle services to automatic mode and then just start the Oracle CRS service and then this will start all other services automatically for you.
in the sequence.
Hope this Helps

  • Oracle RAC 11g on Windows 2008 64 bit - blue screen error on both nodes

    Hi Everyone,
I installed Oracle RAC 11g on Windows 2008 64 bit, The installation was successfull and crs_state -t shows all services in two nodes are online.
When executed a select query with 100 sessions( For performance evaluation using Transaction generator ) ,the machine got crashed and blue screen is appeared on two nodes. I restrated the machines and and starts the same evaluation ,bt the same bug is repeating.
Can anyone suggest a solution to solve this issue? Is our hardware is not sufficient ? Shall we need to perform any
specific settings in Oracle RAC setup for performance evaluations?
Is our settings for load balancing is not enough? ( We added "Load Balancing= On" on tnsnames.ora on client for load
    balancing)
The following machine configuration is used for Oracle RAC setup
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.66 GHz,
    Ram :4GB.
    OS : windows 2008 Server 64 Bit
    Oracle RAC 11g , Clusterware 11g R2 , ASM with 5 raw disk ( 1- votting disk ,1- ocr files and 3 disk files)

  • Domain migration of Oracle RAC nodes on windows 2008

    Hello masters,
We are planning to migrate servers from old domain to a new domain due to company name change. That is, our DB servers named like db-node-x.old-domain.com will be migrated to db-node-x.new-domain.com. The servers are all on Windows 2008 R2 and Oracle RAC 11g2. As dba, i have no idea about what will happen to DBs. Please let me know any possible solutions?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Oracle Rac services on second node

    Hi all
I have got oracle rac database installed on a 2 node cluster. I was not able to get the below 2 services online (state) on the second node. Any idea?
    ora.racdb.racdb2.inst
    ora.racdb.racdb_taf.racdb2.srv
    Name Type Target State Host
    ora....b2.inst application ONLINE OFFLINE
    ora....db2.srv application ONLINE OFFLINE
I checked the +ASM2 instance on the second node, the asm_diskgroup parameter is not set.  Is that the cause of the problem I am encountering?
    Thanks all
OS: Oracle Enterprise Linux 5 x86
    Oracle: Oracle 10g x86

You should be able to find some more information in the instance's alert log file. But not having asm_diskgroups set is a very likely cause. Your diskgroups won't get mounted and that leads to the instance not being able to start (because it won't even find the spfile if it is stored on ASM). You could try to mount them manually like this:
    export ORACLE_SID=+ASM2
    sqlplus sys/ as sysdba
alter diskgroup MYDISKGROUP mount;and then start the instance with 'srvctl start instance -d myracdb -i myinstance2'
Or, of course you could edit the asm instance's pfile (or spfile) to include the asm_diskgroup parameter and reboot the server (or just asm)

  • Monitoring RAC services in Windows

I have a 2 node RAC database installed on Win 2003. I've had the Database service go down a few times kind of "magically". I'm looking into the kind of magic that caused this (suspect it was a storage issue), but in the mean-time I need to send out an alert to someone if this goes down. Does anyone have a good way/tool to monitor OS services and send out an e-mail when one goes down?

    Aren't you using grid control?

  • How to recover oracle 9i services in windows xp

i had my registry corrupted so i had to restore it from an old registry bakup tht i had made
the problem now is that the bakup was taken before i installed oracle
so now i have oracle installed without any registry entries so i had to install it all over again but it asked for a different database name.when i entered my old name it showed me an error that it already exists so i intalled it with a new database name. now everything is working but i cannot start my old database since there is no service available to start it in services
how can i create a service for my old database

You can find it in ORACLE_HOME\bin, where ORACLE_HOME may be your C:\oracle\ora92\bin.
    Utility name is oradim
following command will create the service.
oradim -new -sid %ORACLE_SID% -pfile c:\path\to\some\init.ora
where %ORACLE_SID% is your old sid name.
    Thanks

  • Oracle RAC 11gR2 on Windows - Disk Storage Newbie question

    Hi all
I have been reading through the Grid install guide in an effort to understand how to set up a RAC solution. I am new to Oracle so a lot of these concepts I am trying to understand but from what I am reading a typical install would be to have my cluster software installed on a particular shared storage type of either OCFS or ASM. These storage types then sit on top of a redundant option such as RAID, or logical volumes across disks or a kind of mirroring (SAME).
I know what I have said is probably a rough attempt at understanding this but what I would like is if anyone has any diagrams that lay this out for me to aid my understanding that would be great.
I am kind of at a stage where I am thinking about creating a RAC installation on some VMWare and want to know how best to configure the initial disks, and whether to add them to a RAID or carve them into partitions.
    Hope I have made sense.
    Thanks

    Hi;
Please change thread status to answered here, it pretend to lose time of other forums user while they are searching open question which is not answered, thanks for understanding

  • ORACLE_HOME in Oracle RAC 11g (Windows Server 2008)

    Hello,
I've got two (2) nodes in an Oracle RAC 11g in Windows Server 2008. Oracle software is installed in C:\app.
I realized that it's not been set ORACLE_HOME path. In System Properties-> Advanced -> Environment Variables, I see that ORACLE_HOME is empty.
    - Which path would be the ORACLE_HOME: C:\app\bd\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1
    - Do you have to setup the same in both nodes?
    Thanks

  • Correct way to install patch in Oracle RAC

    Hello,
What is the correct way to install a patch in an two-node Oracle RAC 11g on Windows server 2008? Each node has its own ORACLE_HOME.
Do I have to shut down one Node before I patch the other Node?
Or both nodes can be up when installing patch? First do it on Node 1 and then on Node2?
    Thank you

Typically you can do a rolling upgrade, patch one node, then the next node without bringing down the entire cluster, but as rui_catcuddler suggested, follow the Oracle instructions as closely as possible.
We have found several bugs with RAC 11gR2 on Windows 2008 R2, some minor, some critical. If this is your Oracle version and platform then try to get to the latest Oracle RAC release 11.2.0.3.

    Kevin
