Oracle Real Time Scheduler(ORS) Integration

Hi,
Currently I am working on ORS integration with the help of web- services. I created a web-service client in java but I am not able to receive a response from the ORS. When I use the soapUI to send the request the response that I receive is an XSD.
Can you please help me out as to how to get a response from ORS.
Thanks in advance
Vikram

Hi,
Hi,

I've heard of some stuff going on in the kernel development, referred to as "real-time scheduling."  Could someone tell me what it is, and what it's benefits are?  I've been having a hard time finding information on it.

  • Need urgent help in Real Time scheduling algorithm implementation

I am new to Java Real Time programming. I have faced a problem which is stated below:
    Declare tasks
    for
if it is schedulable then run the task
    otherwise it is not schedulable
    for
check priority with respect to deadline.
    select highest priority task
    for
    start higest priority task
    if the task is preemtable
then switch lowest priority task to highest priority task and stop the lowest priority task
after completion higest priority task, lowest priority task complete the rest of the work.
this is actually a pseudocode for real time dynamic scheduling ( rate monotonic scheduling). can anyone please help me develop the code?

this is actually a pseudocode for real time dynamic scheduling Define "real-time" in your context. Most people who use the term don't use it correctly. If you truly mean "real-time," then you'll need real-time Java running on a real-time OS.
can anyone please help me develop the code? What specific problems are you having? If you have no clue where to start, this site is not a good resource.

    Hi,
I have 2 questions in Oracle RTD.
1)I am using Oracle BI 11.1.1 and I want to change the persistance interval to 5 mins by default it is 60 mins So medel counts are getting incremented after 1 hr.
So can you help us to reduce the persistance interval.
2)RTD SDDS database is not refreshing automatically bacause we are unable to change the values in JConsole.
To reflect the data we are manually refreshing models and running the method CompleteSnapshot.
Please help us in resolving the issues.
Note:To Solve question 1 we tried to change the value in Application-->ModelDefaults-->Persistance level but its not getting incremented.

  • Real-time database or non real-time database

I know the scheduling mechanism in Oracle database is somewhat like the Linux OS which is not real-time. Does Oracle provide real-time database which has some real-time scheduling guaranteeing each user transaction to meet with a deadline ? Thx a lot.

The Berkley DB that Oracle owns has been ported to QNX which is a real-time operating system.
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/berkeley-db/db/ref/build_unix/qnx.html
Why, out of curiosity, are you looking into Oracle for a real-time system? That implies that you're running a real-time operating system on your servers, which is certainly unusual. I've heard of some ports of 9i to real-time operating systems, but that would certainly be unusual.

I believe what you're looking for is in here:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E16671_01/bh.200/e16641/portlets_install.htm#CBHIHBCD
That's a link to the Installation Guide for the Beehive Portlets, including a section specific to Oracle WebCenter Portal. What was called Beehive Conferencing is now being sold as WebCenter Conferencing (as part of WebCenter Real-Time Collaboration).
    Hope that helps,

  • What is the difference between Real-Time (RR) and Time-Sharing (TT)?

    Hi Guys,
I am trying to distinguish between LMS process priorities of Real-Time Vs Time sharing and was not able to find any good document explaining me the difference between them. May be one of you Gurus can explain the difference between TT and RR? Any metalink doc id or any url on this issue will be appreciated.
    --MM

Hi, Time Sharing scheduling is based on credits that are allocated to the process while creation and as long as process keep consuming the OS resources (CPU etc), its priority keeps on changing dynamically (Because process has lost credits) where as processes with Real Time Scheduling are given priority over other processes configured with Time Sharing (even kernel resources).
In simple terms, if LMS is configured with Time Sharing scheduling on a very busy Oracle RAC system, LMS process may contend for the CPU resources, which may cause performance bottleneck in cluster environment.
In Oracle Real Applicaiton Cluster, various organizations has gained performance benefits of setting few Oracle processes such as LMS with Real Time scheduling.

  • Real time Integration between Oracle i-Procurement with MUMPS based System

    Folks,
Has anybody worked on integrating Oracle Applications with any Legacy System? I'm interested in discussing real time integration between Oracle i-Procurement and Legacy System. Can 9iAS Advanced Queue be used to accomplish this?
If anybody has any information on this topic please reply back or email me at [email protected]
    Regards,
    J Ali

Yes, we have experience with the product Oracle9iAS InterConnect. Adapters are provided to integrate with iProcurement and legacy systems. If your legacy system is non-standard either partners might already have adapters or you can use the adapter development kit to build your own specialized adapter. Check out: http://otn.oracle.com/products/integration/index.html
and I would suggest to contact your Oracle account manager to get a detailed product demonstration and references.

  • Oracle Data Integrator - Real Time Integration

    Hi,
I want to know that, is there any possibility of integrating data in real-time using Oracle Data Integrator?
If yes, does it affect the OLTP system performance? (Could it read from db logs,etc..)
    Thanks..

Using ODI with Logminer-based CDC will affect performance on the source system more than using Oracle Goldengate, let me explain why:
When using the ODI Logminer-based Journalisation the Logminer functionality will move the primary-key of the affected row into the journal table. When you are then ready to move the changed data, running an interface to move the data reads the Journal-view, which joins the journal table (primary keys) to the source data (and dealing with deleted rows), optimising out duplicate rows in order to bring across the then-current state of the data, which can then be loaded into the target system, on completion, the moved rows can be removed from the journal table. The data will appear in the journal table as soon as Logminer puts it there, which may be a lag of up to two minutes using asynchronous setting, whereas Synchronous Logminer applies "system triggers to the table, with the consequent overhead.
With Oracle Goldengate, the comitted transactions are read from the log as soon as the log-writer puts the commit into the log. All the data is picked up from the log, at that point. It is then written to the trail-file system of Oracle Goldengate which can be propogated to multiple other systems potentially with sub-second latency, and minimal impact on the source system due to the efficient reading and writing mechanisms. One other consequence of using Oracle Goldengate is that you get every change of the data, not the optimised then-current state of the data when moved.
    Hope this explanation helps.

  • Third Party Real Time Integration

    Hi  all,
I am new to the SAP world.  My company just purchased FI/CO and we are in the process of implementing.  We have several feeder systems that need to be integrated.  Our partner is telling us that we have to send flat files on a timed schedule, but we really need the feeder systems to update the SAP system in real time.
My question is, is this possible with SAP?  I know that BAPI's are available but to what capacity?
I have a fair amount of integration experience w/ PeopleSoft (14yrs) and MS Dynamics AX (2yrs) both of which I have done this type of integration to.
Any information and direction would be great.
    Thanks in advance,
    Scott

So to clarify, it is possible for a third party application to make a connection to SAP and provide data to the BAPI?
Here is an example of what I am trying to do:
Our third party software will be the starting point for customers.  When a new customer is created we need to create that customer in SAP as well (for use with AR).  Currently we open a connection to the existing financial application, verify that the customer does not exist and insert the data into the table.
We all agree that we do not want to write directly to the SAP table(s).
What we would like to do is when the user saves the record in the third party app, open a connection to SAP, pass the data to the BAPI, wait for a return code then complete the transaction.
Please advise if this is possible and if so, a link to an example would be great.
    Thanks,
    Scott

  • How to replicate data  between Oracle db and SQL server dbs in real time?

    Hello,
Anyone has idea that what tool we can use to do data replication in real time between Oracle and SQL sever or Oracle and Sybase or Sql server and Sybase?
This is topic is brought by a project manager?
I only know Oracle to Oracle dbs by streams or GoldenGate.
    Thanks
    Jerry

Since GoldenGate's bread and butter was (and is) replicating data between heterogeneous data sources, and since Oracle has purchased GoldenGate, that would seem like a natural place to start.
Beyond that, it depends on the architecture you want and how you define "real time." Just about any ETL tool on the market, whether Oracle's ODI or OWB or any number of third party products (Informatica, DataStage, etc) can handle "trickle feeds" from various data sources to a database target of your choosing. Different tools will have different sorts of integration with the source database, many will require that a bunch of triggers are created to track changes on the source systems.
If you want Oracle to control the replication process (which doesn't really make sense if we're talking about replication from a non-Oracle database to another non-Oracle database), you can use the Oracle Transparent Gateway products to create database links from Oracle to the non-Oracle databases and query data on the source database periodically.
