Oracle Redistribution in a VM Image/Container (legality question, not tech)

Hello,
I have an application that is rather difficult to install and requires Oracle 10g+. I thought it would be nice for many people that don't have easy access to a DBA that is also familiar with C++, Microarrays, Perl, Unix, etc. to have a a vmware image (or perhaps if they like Solaris, a container) that is ready to use. I would be distributing this for free, and am wondering if there is anything in Oracle's policy to keep me from doing so, or any terms that I may have to fulfill.
After reading the OTN license I found the following statement, which is certainly a bummer for those people wanting to distribute ready-to-use applications that (currently...) use Oracle:
"You may not:
- make the programs available in any manner to any third party;
- assign this agreement or give or transfer the programs or an interest in them to another individual or entity;
The application is typically used only by universities for research purposes, though it may be possible that a biomedical or pharmaceutical company would use it. It would be nice if we could get a license such that we could distribute the application, but only on the condition that those downloading it agree to the OTN license for the included Oracle Software (the Oracle database).
Any advice would be appreciated.

VMWare used to front-distribute an Oracle "appliance" mounted on RedHat, but they required to register at RedHat and established the legal status for Oracle.
Yes, could be nice if that may become available ... you may better contact VMWare as a better channel to manage this initiative. They have more experience...

CFMAIL - Background Image contained in TD Not Displaying in Outlook

A backgorund image contained in a <TD width="400" background="http://www.abcdef.com/img/background_B.jpg"> does not appear when the html email message is opened in Outlook. However, if you click the having trouble viewing this email prompt the image does display on the web view. Is this a CFMAIL problem? If so does anyone have a work around for or other ideas where to look for a solution?

As we don't know your code, your imaging library or anything else that you are doing - and my crystal ball is on the fritz - we can't really help :(.
However, given that you are talking about CMYK the first question is about whether you a re working on a CMYK surface or converting to RGB? If converting, how?
Second, what filter is applied to the image? DCT? Flate? Other?
Third, are you considering any DecodeParms on the image?
Fourth, is the image indexed or not?
And the list goes on..

Yosemite Mail displays image attachments as question marks if attachments also contain a pdf

We have 11 macs running Yosemity in our company and I have the following problem with Mail since upgrading.
If an email is created in Mail and both images (jpg) and pdf's are attached to that mail, the recipient will see the images displayed as question marks, but the pdf show as icon as it should. This is only on mac. Other clients see the attachments properly.
This also appears to be the case when receiving email from others using outlook. When the email contains both images (even in signatures) and pdf files, the images displays as question marks and the pdf display as icon or previewed as normal.
Any suggestions?
Displaying remote images in HTML emails are ticked, but this is attached images, not remote images.

I found a solution here and it worked for me. It doesn't go back to old messages that are already in your inbox and correct the issue, but any new messages that come in will show images:

Very slow export on images containing brush adjustments

I'm currently on the trial version with Aperture and I enjoy the software so far. One quite annoying issue is that it seems that images containing brush-adjustments take ages to export into any format. When exporting the images to PS4 it hangs totally.
Images with only global adjustments export just fine. Also drag/drop an image (even with adjustments) out of Aperture onto the desktop for example works perfectly fine with no issues. Exporting the same into a smaller jpg onto the desktop takes minutes.
I did all the usual fixes, like deleting .plist files, rebuilding/repairing libraries and so on, but nothing did the trick.
Does anyone have an idea how this could be fixed?
update: and yes... I do have the feeling that this is a newer problem. Can it be related to the "pro-application" update recently? Because I have the feeling that prior to that it worked just fine...

Legality questions about Home Sharing

I have some legality questions about Apple's Home Sharing technology.
As I understand it, you can share (that is, copy it from one computer to another) your music, movies, applications and other iTunes-managed files amongst five computers. The only 'trick' is that each computer must have an iTunes Store account and must be logged in in order for it to work.
My question concerns the copying aspect and the legality of it. For content that was purchased through the iTunes Store I can see how Home Sharing can provide a limitation on content sharing, since all of the machines would need to be connected to Apple's servers in order for the validation process to happen. But what about content that was added to iTunes through other means, e.g., ripping my own CDs or converting my DVDs? These items can still be copied via Home Sharing and as there's no DRM on them there's no way they can be protected against "illegal" or "unauthorized" use.
It was my understanding that if I gave a copy of a song to someone else, that's illegal. Apple's Home Sharing technology seems to facilitate this action. If I rip a CD or DVD into iTunes and someone copies it out, isn't that making an illegal copy? Can I be held liable for distribution of content?
And how far does this extend? If I live in a house with four unrelated people, are they legally (?) allowed to copy music and media amongst each another? Is there a perceived or actual difference between using Home Sharing to copy a movie versus, say, using a USB flash drive? And what if one of them moves out? Am I legally obligated to go through that person's hard drive and remove content that they copied from me before they leave the building?
Does Home Sharing somehow retroactively change the copyright application on a given CD or DVD? Most of my CDs and DVDs contain notices and warnings against distributing copies. Can these warnings now be ignored, or at least amended with "...unless you're using iTunes Home Sharing" at the ends of them?
I am not trying to stir up a hornet's nest here. I'm only trying to better understand the legal issues surrounding Home Sharing and particularly how they relate to unprotected content. It seems very contradictory that the RIAA and MPAA would be fighting so hard against peer-to-peer services like BitTorrent and Gnutella while apparently allowing peer-to-peer services through iTunes Home Sharing.
Furthermore, I also understand that the intention of this system was to allow families who are living together to have common access to all of the "household" music, but my issues aren't about this. I envision, for example, a college dorm building where there's several hundred people living together on the same network subnet, and all of them have Home Sharing enabled and everyone is copying thousands and thousands of songs to/from one another. Is this now legal?

RIPping of commercial, encrypted DVDs (most of them) is illegal to begin with. Or rather, breaking the encryption on a DVD is illegal and in order to RIP the DVD, you must break the encryption. SO you have already "broken the law" by having a copy on your computer.

This is exactly what Napster was and why they were sued & shut down.
I imagine Apple lawyers have done their homework as well as consulted with the labels to discuss these exact issues.
And it's called "Home Sharing" to indicate that it is not "Dorm Sharing" or "Workplace Sharing", or even simply "Library Sharing"etc. even though it may be possible to use it in other places than the Home.
Users on other computers need to know your iTunes ID and password to enable it Home Sharing. Likely this is how Apple got the lables to be okay with it.
Are you gonna give (and get) dozens/hundreds/thousands/any other users your iTunesID & password?

How can i retrieve my wallpaper image? It is not in my photos. I deleted the picture from my photo's because i had the original file on my desktop. Then mydesktop was stolen and this is my only chance of recovery.

My problem is the backup is lost too, because the computer that contain the backup was lost with the original photo. It seems to me that the image is stored on the phone in some type of memory. I'm willing to destroy the phone in order to retrieve the image. Any thoughts on where or how the wallpaper is stored on the phone itself?

It does contain barcode font. I can view other xml template just fine ( other report )

1. I checked the values in the xml and found no nulls. I see all 0 or non-zero numbers.
2. Following MetaLink Doc ID 362496.1, I find:
- PDF Producer: PDF file properties shows PDF Producer "Oracle XML Publisher 5.6.3"
- AD_BUGS SQL: The SQL results show that I have the 5.6.3 patch, but the SQL in the Doc only includes patch numbers up to 5.6.3. I'm not sure how I can find out the patch numbers of more recent patches, to see if i have those.
- File version of the MetaInfo.class: $Header MetaInfo.java 115.28 2006/08/17 01:24:59 bgkim noship $
What is the latest XDO patch? I can't find anything newer than what I have in MetaLink, but I probably am missing something...

CONTAINS query -- the NOT operator

Is there a way to do the following:

FROM mytable
WHERE CONTAINS (my_search_col,'NOT keyword',1) > 0;
When I do this, I receive the error:
ERROR at line 1:

From reading the documentation, it appears that the NOT operator is really an 'AND NOT' operator. Is there a way to perform a true NOT?

My HP Pavilion 23 shows sethc.exe Bad Image: system 32 is not designed to run on Windows

While installing a new fan in my home, the electrician blew a circuit that my HP A-I-O Pavilion 23 computer runs from. We immediately activated it but my computer would not connect to Windows. I received the following message:

Native deployment (self-contained) icon integration not working for .exe?

I am having issues replacing the default icon that is used for the native installer. I referred to this guide: http://docs.oracle.com/javafx/2/deployment/self-contained-packaging.htm#BCGICFDB
Using the latest stable v. of JavaFX and NetBeans. The tutorial only had sample instructions for Mac OSX, but I assume they are similar to Windows. What I did was create 2 directories inside my projects root folder (given that my project is called test ) and place an .ico file:
test\package\windows\test.ico
When I dist build the project I get the following message: +Using default package resource [application icon] (add package/windows/test.ico to the class path to customize)+
Does this work for anyone? Any idea where the error might be in my case?

Legal Question - Photoshop in rented computer?

Dear all,
I have a legal question concerning photoshop: I work in a photo equipment rental company, and one of our services is a digital assistance (for capturing/developing images taken with digital cameras). Normally no computer goes out without an operator (assistant), but we are considering renting the computers themselves for photographers who want to capture/develop their own images.
My question is this: would I need a special licence for the above scenario?

Photoshop Image Processor.jsx could not be found. CS5

I like to use Bridge to export groups of photos and with past versions I've been able to select photos, go to Tools>Photoshop>Image Process and select one of my custom actions. Now I get this error: Photoshop Image Processor.jsx could not be found.
Any thoughts?

By default the image processor script should be placed in the Application
folder (on root level, not in the user
account)/AdobePhotoshop/presets/scripts/ image Processor.jsx
Also by default in Bridge preferences Start up Scripts Adobe Photoshop
should have a checkmark in front of it.
If you changed any of these there lies your fault, if it happened to fail
out of the blue you first should try restart Bridge holding down option key
and choose refresh preferences.
First check if it works now and if it does again set preferences to your
wishes. (obvious not deselecting the PS script... )
Now I get this error: Photoshop Image Processor.jsx could not be found.

Oracle Application Server Release 2 (10.1.2) Deployment Notes question

I have a question about Configuring JDeveloper to Generate Configuration Files That Are J2EE 1.3-Compliant. Do I need all the files in table 34-3? (http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/html/B25947_01/deployment_topics006.htm#CIHHBJAI)
I already have some of these files. Can I change the version of existing files or do I need new ones? How can I change the version of existing files?

I only use Image Capture, so I can't speak for other software.
Here is how I select a Scan To destination:
If you are using the minimal details screen, you should have the same submenu to the left of the page size.
