  • Financial statement generator & Oracle Reports Manager

    We are moving into Oracle Apps R12.1.3 on Solaris. Most end user machines are Windows 7 & going to be Windows 8. Some are Windows XP. Majority have Microsoft 2007 and some have Microsoft 2010.
    Financial Statement Generator (FSG) reports are called from GL Super user as well as Oracle Reports Manager. Attempt being made to open FSG reports directly in Oracle Reports Manager > Excel with drill down.
    Experiencing errors (of VB) , after some patching seeing Blank Excelsheet.  Though same FSG report can be open with Values in Oracle Reports Manager > html and pdf.
    Any body experienced this in recent past.
    Rgds

    Hi Hein,
    Thanks for the reply and I do have access but apart from standard/customized reports, sometimes users create their own reports using FSGs where they pull GL data (No sub-ledgers) by defining rows and columns and many more features.
    For eg: pulling up trial balance report by cost centers
    Is there any equivalent of these Financial Statement Generators in SAP.
    I was thinking about defining the "Variants" in each report and run variants but then thats not limited to GL, I guess
    Thanks in advance....

  • Oracle Report Manager & BNE

    Could anybody explain me in shortly what are Oracle Report Manager (FRM) and Web Applications Desktop Integrator (BNE) used for ?
    Thanks,
    Paul

    Oracle Report Manager is an online repository for storing and viewing reports. Report Manager provides a secure and convenient location to access point -in-time reports published or uploaded to a database. You access secured reports through your Personal Home Page (Self Service Applications home page and Oracle Portal page). Public (non-secured) reports can also be accessed through the Report Manager Public Home Page. Oracle Report Manager users can be either report producers or report consumers. Report producing users publish, upload, and set security for reports. Report consumers view, download, and approve reports.

    Web ADI brings Oracle E-Business Suite functionality to a spreadsheet, where familiar data entry and modeling techniques can be used to complete Oracle E-Business Suite tasks. You can create formatted spreadsheets on your desktop that allow you to download, view, edit, and create Oracle E-Business Suite data. Data entry shortcuts (such as copying and pasting or dragging and dropping ranges of cells) or even using formulas to calculate amounts, can all be used to save time. You can combine speed and accuracy by invoking lists of values for fields within the spreadsheet.

  • PDF Format Oracle Reports font issue

    My process is generating the batch oracle Reports.
    Their key map is:
    Key1: %* server=server1 userid=xxxs/xxx@xxxx report=D:\sample.rdf destype=file desformat=PDF
    My process is calling IAS server to generate report. IAS ser is generating and saving the report in the specified location.Reports are running on the server locally and DESTYPE=FILE. So the Oracle Reports output is saved on the server itself. Whenever i open the report on my machine/server i have font issue. Some of the reports has very tiny font. It seems the reports generated by using oracle reports which is Arial Unicode font type is causing the problem. If any reports other then Arial Unicode font like Arial Westrn, those reports are fine. We have 1000s of reports. So we don't want to change each report font type. For me it seems the issue is with the font on the server. Is there anyway to ask App server use Arial Westrn if Arial Unicode not found. How to make these configuration changes in the server. Any suggestions please.

    Maybe this helps or at least points you in some direction ...
    Have a look at font aliasing when configuring Application Server : http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14099_19/bi.1012/b14048/pbr_font.htm#i1006140
    If your Application Server is located on Windows I would suggest to install the fonts there.
    In Unix, this a more complex task.

  • Oracle Report Server Issue with Japanese Characters

    We are trying to setup a Oracle Report Server to print the Japanese characters in the PDF format.
    We have separate Oracle Report servers for printing English, Chinese and Vietnamese characters in PDF formats using Oracle Reports in the production which are running properly with Unix AIX version 5.3. Now we have a requirement to print the Japanese characters. Hence we tried to setup the new server for the same and the configurations are done as same as Chinese/Vietnamese report servers. But we are not able to print the Japanese characters.
    I am providing the details which we followed to configure this new server.
    1.     We have modified the reports.sh to map the proper NLS_LANG (JAPANESE_AMERICA.UTF8) and other Admin folder settings.
    2.     We have configured the new report server via OPMN admin.
    3.     We have copied the arialuni.ttf to Printers folder and we have converted this same .ttf file in AFM format. This AFM file has been copied to $ORACLE_HOME/guicommon/gk/JP_Admin/AFM folder.
    4.     We have modified the uifont.ali (JP_admin folder) file for font subsetting.
    5.     We have put an entry in JP_admin/PPD/datap462.ppd as *Font ArialUnicodeMS: Standard "(Version 1.01)" Standard ROM
    6.     We have modified the Tk2Motif.rgb (JP_admin folder) file for character set mapping (Tk2Motif*fontMapCs: iso8859-1=UTF8) as we have enabled this one for other report servers as well.
    Environment Details:-
    Unix AIX version : 5300-07-05-0831
    Oracle Version : 10.1.0.4.2
    NLS_LANG : JAPANESE_AMERICA.UTF8
    Font Mapping : Font Sub Setting in uifont.ali
    Font Used for Printing : arialuni.ttf (Font Name : Arial Unicode MS)
    The error thrown in the rwEng trace (rwEng-0.trc) file is as below
    [2011/9/7 8:11:4:488] Error 50103 (C Engine): 20:11:04 ERR REP-3000: Internal error starting Oracle Toolkit.
    The error thrown when trying to execute the reports is…
    REP-0177: Error while running in remote server
    Engine rwEng-0 crashed, job Id: 67
    Our investigations and findings…
    1.     We disabled the entry Tk2Motif*fontMapCs: iso8859-1=UTF8 in Tk2Motif.rgb then started the server. We found that no error is thrown in the rwEng trace file and we are able to print the report also in PDF format… (Please see the attached japarial.pdf for your verification) but we are able to see only junk characters. We verified the document settings in the PDF file for ensuring the font sub set. We are able to see the font sub setting is used.
    2.     If we enable the above entry then the rwEng trace throwing the above error (oracle toolkit error) and reports engine is crashed.
    It will be a great help from you if you can assist us to resolve this issue…

    Maybe 7zip or another tool has workarounds for broken file names, you could try that.
    Or you could try to go over the files in the zip archive one-by-one and write it to files out-1, out-2, ..., out-$n without concerning yourself with the file names. You could get file endings back via the mimetype.
    This script might work:
    #include <stdio.h>
    #include <zip.h>
    static const char *template = "./out-%04d.bin";
    int main(int argc, char**argv)
    int err = 0;
    zip_t *arc = zip_open((const char*)argv[1], ZIP_RDONLY, &err);
    if(arc == NULL)
    printf("Failed to open ZIP, error %d\n", err);
    return -1;
    zip_int64_t n = zip_get_num_entries(arc, 0);
    printf("%s: # of packed files: %d\n", argv[1], n);
    for(int i = 0; i < n; i++)
    zip_stat_t stat;
    zip_stat_index(arc, i, ZIP_FL_UNCHANGED, &stat);
    char buf[stat.size];
    char oname[sizeof(template)];
    zip_file_t *f = zip_fopen_index(arc, (zip_int64_t)i, ZIP_FL_UNCHANGED);
    zip_fread(f, (void*)&buf[0], stat.size);
    snprintf(&oname[0], sizeof(template), template, i);
    FILE *of = fopen(oname, "wb");
    fwrite(&buf[0], stat.size, 1, of);
    printf("%s: %s => %lu bytes\n", argv[1], oname, stat.size);
    zip_fclose(f);
    fclose(of);
    zip_close(arc);
    return 0;
    Compile with
    gcc -std=gnu99 -O3 -o unzip unzip.c -lzip
    and run as
    ./unzip $funnyzipfile
    You should get template-named, numbered output files in the current directory.

  • Oracle Report Manager - Please help

    Just a quick question for anyone familiar with this product. We have Oracle Applications/Financials 16.1, 10.7 SC and run on DG-UX. It looks like Report Manager is only available for NT and Solaris.... will the Solaris version work on the DG-UX platform as well?
    Thanks in advance,
    Darius

    hello Thiru
    thank u for ur help.
    here i donot find necessity of using Distinct and groupby clause.
    as the docnos are unique in the table i was referring,further
    iam not using any function so as to use groupby clause.
    Ofcourse i will try with LOV by calling reports from forms.
    This particular table contains 12000 records ,each record has 1
    doc no assigned to it.That means i want all the 12000 docs to be
    viewed in the parameter so that i can select one doc no to view
    that particular report.

    I have multiple printing issues with Oracle Reports developed in 10g. Please help me to resolve the issue.
    1. Even though i set ORIENTATION to landscape, it is printing Portrait .
    I have tried the below options
    1. I SET ORIENTATION AS landscape Under Data Model, System Parameters
    2. I have tried to pass ORIENTATION=landscape from the Keymap File
    3. I have tried to set ORIENTATION=landscape Under Paper layout Main,Header and Trailer Sections.
    2. Always the report is trying to fit in a single page (Width wise) which is annoying the user. I want to set Scaling instead of fit to a single page. How will i achieve this?

  • Oracle Wallet Manager Issue

    Hi,
    We are having a problem in importing user certificate using oracle wallet manager.
    While adding a new certificate request, we gave the domain name as abacus.ofda.gov to generate the key but we are doing this on a different machine laharguard.ofda.gov.
    Can we do this? If so how can I achieve this?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    For the error you are getting, please check below points -
    1. CA (Certificate Signer) certificate is there under trusted certificate list. If it is not, then first import the CA cert (with complete chain, if any) and then try to import the user cert.
    2. User cert should be imported in the same wallet where CSR (Certificate Signing Request) is saved.
    3. Certificate is valid in terms of it's date of expiry.
    Remember, process of getting a server cert is below -
    1. Generate a CSR and save it in a wallet.
    2. Export the CSR from the wallet and send it to CA for signing.
    3. Import the signed user cert in the same wallet after importing it's CA cert in this wallet (CA cert should be imported as Trusted Cert)
    It is recommended to generate CSR at the same server where it will be used. In case server machine changes, please get a new cert for that otherwise it may cause problems during authentication.
    Regards,
    Anuj

  • Oracle Enterprise Manager issues

    We are experiencing difficulties connecting to http://localhost:1158/em and also the ISQL link from the EM page when and if the EM console does manage to load.

    New Oralce 10G database installed ok no errors. Data imported from old Oralce 8 server. New schemas etc created and all was working well. Then we created a secondary 10.*.*.* address for users to connect via our VPN.
    Our EM home page seems to be a bit of a hit or a miss. The database is working fine and the listener is running. We can connect,to the prod DB via SQL or telnet we just can't access via EM. We have tried restarting the dbconsole using emctl start dbconsole but to no avail simply says running.
    (additional info) - We have also updated the hosts file to point at both the 192.*.*.* address and the 10.*.*.* address'
    Problem 2 -
    Even when EM was loading when clicking the ISQL link from EM control page we get a message "page can't be displayed check network connection" message in the browser, Again we have ensured the ISQL is started (response started) but it doesn't seem to connect to ISQL via the browser (firefox or Internet Explorer).
    Any assitance in any of these matters most grealy appreciated our box is live prod and we are getting a bit nervous and desperate to resolve

    Thanks for the reply
    Q1 -please give us the OS.
    A1- OS is AIX5.3
    so far i have a couple of thoughts, first, when you say :
    We have also updated the hosts file to point at both the 192.*.*.* address and the 10.*.*.* address'
    Q2 - what do you mean exactly; can you please paste the hosts file or make sure you don' t have the same hostname mapped to 2 IP addresses.
    in the hosts file if you map localhost to 192..., do you use the hostname for the address 10....?
    A2 - Sorry not at work at the moment and don't have access to host file but i do have the hostname mapped to both my 10 & 192 IP ranges. Although and i hasten to add this has worked ok for a couple of weeks and we even did a couple of reboots in the time after the configuration was altered 2 weeks ago.
    Up unitl two days ago we could connect to the EM via either 3 below
    http://localhostname:1158/em
    http://192.*.*.*:1158/em
    http://10.*.*.*:1158/em
    Q3 - Did you check whether the issue is occurring only when connecting locally or only when connecting via VPN or just random?
    A3 -More a random thing i think though i'm not 100% on the VPN side as i haven't checked that yet, very valid point though
    Q4 - Finally - for isqlplus, I assume you already checked that the process is running (isqlplusctl start). If so, in alternative to the button on the EM console, you can use the URL http://localhost:5560/isqlplus
    (the port usually 5560, but it is in the C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_\install\portlist.ini file as well as the EM ports).
    A4 - isqlplusctl is process is running. have also tried http://localhost:5560/isqlplus but i get page cannot be displayed even though the port is set to 5560 in the portlist.ini. I have also checked pop up blockers firewall ports etc on the windows client. i know this would have no bearing but thought i'd check anyway all appear fine

    i executed the command
    oemapp console
    it returns command not found.
    please help me to find how can i access my OEM.
    regards
    saima

    command not found ...... is an OS,not an Oracle message. So make sure $ORACLE_HOME/bin is in the PATH. If it is make sure you installed OEM. I don't remember 9iR2 details, but OEM had to be selected as compoment.

  • Oracle reports scheduling issue

    Hi,
    I am using oracle discoverer 4.1.8, I am scheduled a report with admin login. After scheduling i am able to see the scheduled report output from the admin(Submitted user login), where as when i try to see the scheduled output from my login (other users r unable to see the scheduled report output., I am unable to found the scheduled reports in the scheduled tab.
    BR,
    Umamaheshwar.

    Hi Umamaheshwar
    Your version of Discoverer does not have this feature. The ability to share the results of scheduled workbooks was introduced as part of the huge rework of Discoverer that Oracle did when they introduced Dicvoverer 10g (10.1.2 and up).
    In your version you will need to schedule the workbook when logged in as the user who needs to see the results.
    Best wishes
    Michael

  • Oracle Reports Date Issue

    In my reports, I have in the top of the report, the following line.
    &FROMDATE until &TODATE.
    &FROMDATE and &TODATE are user parameters to enter during runtime thru parameter form. I have set the format to 'MM/DD/YYYY' in the parameter form for these variables, but in the reports it is printing in the format of DD-MON-YY.
    How can I fix it. In the report I want to see the format of MM/DD/YYYY and not DD-MON-YY.
    Thanks in advance for your replies

    If you want to use the date parameters as dates in your query, but then display them as formatted text, here's what you do.
    1) create two text columns in your data model as placeholder objects. Place them outside of any data group or query.
    We'll call then formatted_dt_from and formatted_dt_to
    2) in your After Parameter Form trigger, put these lines.
    :formatted_dt_from := to_char(:FROMDATE,'MM/DD/YYYY');
    :formatted_dt_to := to_char(:TODATE,'MM/DD/YYYY');
    3) display '&formatted_dt_from to &formatted_dt_to' in your report header.
