Oracle Report Manager - Please help

Just a quick question for anyone familiar with this product. We have Oracle Applications/Financials 16.1, 10.7 SC and run on DG-UX. It looks like Report Manager is only available for NT and Solaris.... will the Solaris version work on the DG-UX platform as well?

here i donot find necessity of using Distinct and groupby clause.
as the docnos are unique in the table i was referring,further
iam not using any function so as to use groupby clause.
Ofcourse i will try with LOV by calling reports from forms.
This particular table contains 12000 records ,each record has 1
doc no assigned to it.That means i want all the 12000 docs to be
viewed in the parameter so that i can select one doc no to view
that particular report.

Oracle report parameters- please help

iam working on reports 2.5 and oracle DB7.3.
In a report parameter in order to retrive the parameters i gave
a query as
select docno from docket where status='A'
for some period it has worked well.
may be as the number of transactions have increased the report
parameter form is not gettign loaded and when i click the report
it gives me r25srv error.
i could get rid of this error by restricting the parameters
pertaining only to 2001 documents.
the report is working but i have limited the trasactions here
and the problem has been solved temporarily.
my question is
1) does the parameter field takes limited no of transactions.?
if so what is limit to the parmeters.
this i am asking the reason is i found some docnos got displayed
latter i could view only junck characters in the parameter drop
down list. This could view only once.all the time it gives
r25srv error
2) how can i retrive all the docnos in the parameter other than
the above query.

I am not able to Generate Arabic PDF reports (HTMLCSS is working fine with me.....)
O/s is Solaris........O/s supports Arabic....
NLS_LANG is set to "ARABIC_EGYPT.AR8ISO8859P6"
In place of arabic content its showing Junk characters..... In win2k Its working fine........ I have checked my uifont.ali I am giving my PDF section details..

Hi Sharat
I see that you have two entries for helvetica font in your uifont.ali. Be aware that order of precedence is alias->embed->subset. If the helvetica part is appearing junk, try and comment out the entry in embed section and let the subsetting happen.
On Solaris, ensure that the case of font file names match.

1- How can I define in employee appraisal the next years objecticves (KPI's) I saw in employee appraisal you can fill the needed training for the employee for the next year
but i did not find any thing about the next objectives ?
2- How can I enable the participants to participate in employee appraisal , hwo to let them update and share the appraisal request that I will send to them ?
3- Suppose I have the following competency :
- RELIABILITY & COMMITMENT (Under this competency I have the following :)
a) Employee are concerned about company values , priorities and objectives. (Here are five levels of rating 1,2,3,4,5)
b) Lacks cooperations and dose not following the instructions. (Here are five levels of rating 1,2,3,4,5)
c) Rarely adherence to the company policy. (Here are five levels of rating 1,2,3,4,5)
score here will be the average of overall rating as following -> (a) + b) + c)) /3
as you see above all of them under one competency , how can create this competency in the system with all above details, I saw in competency steup that you can do only one competency with add the other details to it as we in the above competency .

But in this case how can we make the overall rating which presents ‘RELIABILITY & COMMITMENT’ competency.
Because in end of appraisal we should have one rating which should be calculated as following :

employee get 10 out of 15 = 3.33 out of 5
here 3.33 , it should means he got this rate in one specific competency like ‘RELIABILITY & COMMITMENT’ .
if we do it as separate competency how can we clarify for the employee and the manager in the end that get 3.33 ‘RELIABILITY & COMMITMENT’ competency.

Financial statement generator & Oracle Reports Manager

We are moving into Oracle Apps R12.1.3 on Solaris. Most end user machines are Windows 7 & going to be Windows 8. Some are Windows XP. Majority have Microsoft 2007 and some have Microsoft 2010.
Financial Statement Generator (FSG) reports are called from GL Super user as well as Oracle Reports Manager. Attempt being made to open FSG reports directly in Oracle Reports Manager > Excel with drill down.
Experiencing errors (of VB) , after some patching seeing Blank Excelsheet. Though same FSG report can be open with Values in Oracle Reports Manager > html and pdf.
Any body experienced this in recent past.

Thanks for the reply and I do have access but apart from standard/customized reports, sometimes users create their own reports using FSGs where they pull GL data (No sub-ledgers) by defining rows and columns and many more features.
For eg: pulling up trial balance report by cost centers
Is there any equivalent of these Financial Statement Generators in SAP.
I was thinking about defining the "Variants" in each report and run variants but then thats not limited to GL, I guess

Refer this article to reset Winsock to it's default. Your PCTools may have inserted LSP.

After reset and restarting windows, you may get a prompt to remap LSP, click no.

Oracle Designer Problem Please help me

1) I created a database
2) Run>cd d:\Oracle_home\repadm61\admin\@ckqa
@ckparams.txt
@ ckvalqa
@ ckcreate
3)Opened Repository Administration Utility
Log in as 'repos_manager/repos_manager@orcltest'
Installed Repository.
4) Opened Oracle 9i Designer. I am able to connect
as 'repos_manager/repos_manager@orcltest'
But I am not able to logon as any other user in same database/ any other user in different database. Why?
Please help me.

Oracle Express Batch Manager-Please Help me out-urgent

Dear all,
I have created a Relational Access Administrator project and mapped an Express Datamodel with RDBMS lookup and fact tables and created a Maintenance Procedure Using "Express Database Maintenance" from "Relational Access Administrator". After that when I tried to run that "Procedure" using "Batch Manager", it creates a Command definition file "~5848371.cmd" and nothing is showing in the "Job Monitor" tab of "Batch Manager". At the same time since it could not run the procedure, no Express database have been created to the specified path.
Please help me out, as I am in need for this very badly. I have gone through the document "Relational Access Administrator(User Guide)" from otn.oracle.com, but nowhere such type of problem have been addressed.

I am a trainee and have been offered a choice between the oracle DBA and the oracle apps finance developer.
What is the future of a DBA guy ,can he get into the management side in an IT industry or just stick to the tech side all through the life?
Is getting into a managerial side more easier in the DBA or the apps developer side?
Please help ,I am in a real confusion and have to quickly make a decision.

Before giving an opinion, the most relevant part would be to know that you want to do what, be a manager or be a techie or both? AFIK, in the dba track as well, after few years, a person can become a manager , project/team lead. It all depends on this fact tht you want to be a manager or not. I have got couple of friends, some are managers but some chose to stick with technology only despite that they were offered to become a manager as they didn't like the idea of analyzing the appraisal reports than Statspack reports.
Getting into the manager side would only come(or should come) with a proven record. I am not from Apps background, never did that but I feel that's a more functional side that you have mentioned. If you are a finance guy, having a strong base in finance, you should go for it. I don't think that if you are not having a base in this stream, you should be opting for it. You are still a trainee as per your saying, think about being good in either side of the technology than being the manager. You can always be once you have spend some time with either of the tracks.

Oracle Reports with Tomcat - Help needed

How do you deploy oracle reports in Tomcat.
** Can we add the necessary Jar files and run the rdf files.? If so can someone please help with this.
**What are the settings to be taken care of ?
** I deployed the web.war and added the jar files to the web-inf/lib .
But when i call the report as
hostname:port/reports/servlet/rwservlet?report=test.rdf&destype=cache
It doesnt return anything .it gives 404 error The requested resource (/reports/servlet/rwservlet) is not available.Please help .

I have developed reports that run other reports in 9i and10g. I would have a "main" report that I would call from Forms (or HTMLDB). This "main" report would run multiple other reports. I used the report built-in procedure SRW.RUN_REPORT("report=report2.rdf parameter=XX") in the After Parameter Form trigger of the main report to call the other reports.

Report Server (Please help ! )

Hello!
I have installed infrastructure and AS onsame machine. In startthe default report server (rep_myserver) performe very well but after about 60 reports it went to down. Now when i try to start it from AS Home page it start and immidiatly stoped.
Log files are showing only start and stop time without any other details. Trace files are also empty.
Please help me to solve this problem. Is it a configration problem or i need a patch to solveit.

Make sure your rep_myserver.conf file has the following line in it and that it isn't commented out:
<trace traceOpts="trace_all">
Then restart your report server and look in the "logs" subdirectory for the rep_myserver.trc file. It should show you what happened that caused the report server to shut down.

My iMac is really slow and I need advice based on EtreCheck report. Please help?

Problem description:
Have recently found endless errors, crashes and general slowdown on my recently bought iMac Late 2013. I upgraded to Yosemite which seems to kick this off so took it to a local shop to have Mavericks re-installed as Time Machine Backup would not work. I also installed CleanmyMac to adios the trash and Memory Clean to monitor the Mac State. After running Memory Clean my memory drops continuously until about 1Gb and then Memory Clean kicks in again. The Activity Monitor shows a Kernel Task at the top of the list which, when clicked on, lists a Fault Figure which also is ever increasing. Please help?

The main cause of slow system is due to certain heavy applications running in the background

or because of duplicate and hidden files.
Files visible, hidden, the same as other files, do not do anything, unless they happen to cause the disk to be completely or nearly full. Otherwise they are just 1's and 0's. They are passive (speaking as a paid file system developer).
These files can't be easily removed.
If they can't be removed, then they are essential to the proper operation of the operating system (such as /private/var/vm/swapfie(s)). And if you have huge swapfile(s), then it is an indication of running too many RAM hungry apps concurrently, or a Mac that could use more RAM.
So I think using speed up Mac software is the best solution.
Hang around these forums long enough and you will see that in many cases those speed up, clean up, anti-malware apps "ARE" the "certain heavy applications running in the background" to use your own words. It has been the experience of the long time forum contributors that once these 3rd party utilities are removed, most performance issues and system panics go away.

I am new to Crystal Report world.. I am trying to integrate Crystal Report with FileNet. FileNet has its own API to call webservices for Crystal report which bring reports back to the web application. I am getting some error like incopatible cast type objects. If SaveOption doesn't have setTimeZone method, then my best guess is that either Serialization.jar file is from a version older than it should be, or rasapp.jar is newer than it should be - there might be a mixing of jar files from different versions of the RAS SDK. I'd recommend cleaning out the jars and copying then anew from the installation folder.

Report format - Please help urgently

We have an AR report with the following format.
Customer - Document No -Payment terms
Currently, the report rows shows for one customer ( Text and Key) for various document number and Payment terms.
Example:
Customer 1 - Document no1 - payment terms1
                  - Document no2 - payment terms2
                  - Document no3 - payment terms3
                  - Document no4 - payment terms4
Customer 2 - Document no5 - payment terms5
                  - Document no6 - payment terms6
But, the requirement is as below. Every line needs to show the customer no for all the rows.
Customer 1 - Document no1 - payment terms1
Customer 1 - Document no2 - payment terms2
Customer 1 - Document no3 - payment terms3
Customer 1 - Document no4 - payment terms4
Customer 2 - Document no5 - payment terms5
Customer 2 - Document no6 - payment terms6

Hi,
Right click on the query results and choose properties at the bottom of the pop menu. Uncheck the option titled "Suppress Repeated Key Values" then click okay.   Your query will update the results and you should see all characteristics now, even if they are repeated.
