Oracle Reports 10g Distribution - Dynamic file name

HI all.
I have a problem in my distribution file.
The following is my xml file:
<destinations>
<!-- Generate one file for all Employees -->
<file id="MyFiles1" name="C:\Apps_Attach\Jan2007\Rep_all_Employees.pdf" format="pdf" >
<include src="mainSection"/>
</file>
<!-- Generate a file for each Employee -->
<foreach>
<file id="MyFiles2" name="&<FOLDER_NAME>&<post_month>&<REP_EMP_NO>.pdf" format="pdf" instance="this">
<include src="mainSection"/>
</file>
</foreach>
</destinations>
This is used for generating Pay Slips as pdf files and storing in the AS.
The users can login to the application with their ID/password and view their payslips only. All working ok.
I can successfully generate both - single file per Employee and one BIG pdf containing all pay slips - this is for the report generator's viewing only.
My problem is - I have to store every month's files in a different folder. Say for example, Jan -2007 files in a folder called Jan2007 , Feb 2007's files in Feb2007 folder,etc.
The parent path for these is fixed - C:\Apps_Attach\
I am able to do this in the per employee files -
&<FOLDER_NAME> gives C:\Apps_Attach\
&<post_month> gives the Jan2007\, Feb2007\,..etc. folder name from Report.
&<REP_EMP_NO> gives the file name per employee.
But in the generate one file for all employees, I am not able to use dynamic path name like
name="&<FOLDER_NAME>&<post_month>Rep_all_Employees.pdf"
It works fine if I use
name="C:\Apps_Attach\Jan2007\Rep_all_Employees.pdf" as in my xml file code above.
Thanks in advance.

Anybody knows how?

  • [Secure Configuration] Oracle Reports 10g Email Configuration...

    Hi Everyone,
    In oracle Reports 10g, we have an option of sending mail as an attachment using destype = mail and desname = [email protected] For this to happen we have to add the outgoing mail server name in the <report server>.conf file. Once we configure this setting, end-users can send any report to any mail-id. So, how to make an secured configuration so that they can send only those allowed reports?
    Note: We have already many reports which are already deployed. So we cant incorporate the validation or some logic within the each report.

    hello dsegard,
    Thanks for you help. I tried the way which you had said. I have incorporated the security tag in the conf file and included the XMLSecurity Project( Deployed the JAR file and done necessary configuration). Now, I dont know how to use it.
    Is there any alternative way for this? Is there any way that we can remove the default options provided by the Oracle Reports under the Destype?

  • Oracle Reports 10g Fonts issue

    Hi ,
    I am developing report on windows environment and deploying on Unix environment.
    I am using Oracle Report 10g R2 version.
    The report is created in batch through unix script. I am using barcode fonts and some other fonts in my report.
    When I generate PDF output for the report, I am getting proper barcode font however other fonts used in the report are not showing up properly in the PDF output.
    1. I am using application specific PPD file which contains the list of all the fonts used in the report
    2. All the AFM files for the fonts are availabe in the AFM folder
    3. In the uifont.ali file, I have done following things:
    a. Created Entry for PDF section as below:
    [ PDF ]
    barcode_font = "barcode_font"
    [ PDF:Subset ]
    "Hamburd DB" = "HamburgDemibold"
    4. I have executed the report wiith debug option on. I have checked the debug file and it is reading all the fonts file from required AFM location.
    5. I have creaeted XML of the report and check the fonts used and check the same with Font Alias file and also in AFM Folder.
    6. I have checked the PDF file (document properties) for fonts. It shows that Truetype font is used for Barcode. For others, it shows that Actual font was Adode Sans MS of Type 1 font and it was replaced with HamburgDemiBold however the output file is not proper.
    One more point: If I create a PS file and then conver the file to PDF, then the output PDF file is perfectly fine. However, if I create PDF directly, I am not getting the fonts properly.
    Please let me know what I have missed or done wrong.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Ramchandra Jetwani

    Hi Hamid,
    I tried the steps mentioned in the link however I am still facing the same issue.
    I am using rwrun60 as report runtime and executable. In the environment, REPORTS_PATH is not set.
    I had tried setting the REPORTS_PATH in the unix script and also adding the fonts path with REPORTS_PATH. However, it still does not work. I had tried PDF subset and PDF Embed both however none of them seems to work.
    Also, in the PDF (using menu documents --> fonts) , i see that actual font seen as Adode Sans MM and not the font i need in the output.
    I have question that if the reports path is not set then how oracle report will pick up the fonts details and which location will it look for fonts?
    Also, if reports path is not set then how do i direct oracle report to use font path that i want to be used.

  • Export with dynamic file name

    Hi everyone.
    I want to know how export oracle tables with dynamic file name on windows XP platform.
    bye.

    You'd have to generate the export command-line or par file using a script -- Windows or SQL !
    It would be easy to use SQL to generate the script.
    So you could have a BATch file that
    a. Calls the SQL to generate the export command-line or parfile
    b. Executes the export
    even possibly run in a loop.

  • Oracle report 10g vs Oracle Forms 11g

    Hi,
    My application run on Oracle 10g with Oracle Forms&Report 10g
    I have to modify a report file which was saved by oracle report 11g.
    When I open the file with Oracle Report 10, I have the following warning : "Avertissement ! Ouverture d'un rapport enregistré avec une version plus récente. Risque de perte de fonctionnalité. Continuer ?" (translation : "The file opened was saved with a more recent version of Oracle Report. You may lose some information. Continue ?").
    What kind of information I may lose ?
    Can I modify my file on Oracle Report 11g and compile it in Oracle Report 10g ?
    Or
    Can I modify my file on Oracle Report 11g and compile it in Oracle Report 11g and run it on Oracle Report 10g ?
    Thanks a lot.

    Michel,
    Question 1 - the file will no longer be useable with Reports 10g - you will loose everything.
    Question 2 - No, newer versions of Oracle Forms and Reports are not backward compatible with older versions.
    Question 3 - No, see answer to question 2.

  • Can we add Basic Authentication for Oracle Report 10g?

    As we know, Apache supports basic Authentication, and Oracle Report 10g bases on Apache, that means Oracle Report 10g supports Basic Authentication too?
    Can anyone tell me the steps on how to configure Basic Authentication for Oracle Report 10g?
    Thanks for your help in Advance!
    P.S.
    I tried to add the following content to the file "httpd.conf" under the directory "E:\OraHome_2\Apache\Apache\conf\" (I installed report under this folder), but it doesn't work well:
    <Directory "E:\OraHome_2\Apache\Apache\htdocs">
    AuthType Basic
    AuthName "Private Documentation Repository"
    AuthUserFile "C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Apache2.2\mypasswd"

  • Invoke oracle report 10g from database pl/sql package

    Hi
    Is there a way that i can invoke an oracle report 10g from the database pl/sql package? I am working on a requirement that needs to generate a report when one of the criteria is not met.
    Please suggest me on this.

    Thanks for the info.
    I have a scenario where i need to fetch members details like name , email address and so on from the mainframes on the oracle database. Then on the oracle database i need to check if they have a email address or not. If yes then i need to generate a notice and mail it to them. If they don't have an email address, i'll have to print that out in a some centralized location.
    By the way, the notice was developed using oracle reports 10g.
    Now i am developing a pl/sql package which will do the address validation but i didn't know how to call a oracle report to generate the notice in pl/sql procedure.
    As suggested i will try with dbms scheduler and see if that works for me.

  • Cofiguring & sending email with attachment from Oracle Report 10g

    I want to run report from Oracle 10g reports to be sent as email attachement to differnt people with their respective personal content.
    The first problem is to know how to configure Oracle reports 10g to be able to send output to email address.
    The second problem is to be able to route seperate pages of the report to seperate email address.
    Thanks to all.

    For configuring email for reports
    http://download-east.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14099_17/bi.1012/b14048/pbr_conf.htm#sthref472
    For sending the output to different mail id's you can use bursting and distribution feature of Oracle Reports. For details,

  • Dynamic file name from input payload (RFC 2 flat file)

    Hi,
    I have an RFC to flat file scenario. The output flat file has not an XML structure, it's just a plain text file generated with abap mapping.
    In my source interface (RFC), I have a field called <FILENAME>, I want to use the value of that field to create the target file using dynamic file name. But if  in variable substitution I use payload:ZRFC_NAME,1,FILENAME,1 It doesn't work because the dynamic variable substitution try to access to output payload, not the source one...
    What can I do?

    Hi Marshal,
           You can add a extra node to your target strucutre like
    FileName- Node
    --FileName - Element.
    do the mapping from the field filename of RFC to FileName field in u r target strucure. And use this  field path at Refrence in variable subtituion.
    In the Content converison add the Name & Values as below
    FileName.fileldNames -- FileName
    FileName.fieldFixedLengths -- 0
    FileName.fixedLengthTooShortHandling -- Cut
    So the extra field in u r target structure would not populate in u r target text file.
    Cheers
    Veera

  • Dynamic file name ?

    Hi,
    I am following this blog to name the target file/directory dynamically at the runtime :
    /people/sameer.shadab/blog/2005/09/23/an-interesting-usage-of-variable-substitution-in-xi
    But I am getting this error in the CC monitoring :
    Could not process due to error: com.sap.aii.adapter.file.configuration.DynamicConfigurationException: Error during variable substitution: com.sap.aii.adapter.file.varsubst.VariableDataSourceException: Unknown message header category 'interface_name ' for variable 'var1'.

    Hi,
    Try following this weblog for dynamic file name.
    /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/11/10/xi-the-same-filename-from-a-sender-to-a-receiver-file-adapter--sp14
    Dynamic filename come under the Dynamic configuration in moni, for your messages.
    This is the code used inside.
    DynamicConfiguration conf = (DynamicConfiguration) container.getTransformationParameters().get(StreamTransformationConstants.DYNAMIC_CONFIGURATION);
    DynamicConfigurationKey key = DynamicConfigurationKey.create("http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/File","FileName");
    String ourSourceFileName = conf.get(key);
    return ourSourceFileName;
    That is why Dynamic configuration is coming in output.. It is a class to generate dynamic configuration file at runtime provided by SAP XI.
    Hope this will help you.

  • Dynamic file name in case of .txt output files

    Hi all,
    I have a query related to dynamic file name scenario.
    In case of IDOC-XI-FILE sceanrio,
    <b>Is it possible to generate .txt file name based on Plant number like</b>
    <b>%<Plantname>%_%<BusinessDay>_filename.txt</b>

    PLEASE HELP ME .
    Regards
    Prabhat

    Hi Prabhat,
    I think, the normal Dynamic File Name generation should work fine in your case also. Even if you perform Content Conversion, you can use Variable Name Substiution to create your Destination file name as, the name of the file is determined first and only then is the content converison perfromed.
    for info on content conversion, I would suggest that you go through this thread and check my reply,

  • Dynamic File name in File Adapter

    Hi,
    I have a requirement to pass dynamic file name in File Adapter.
    Is there any way to pass a variable for the file name attribut in file adapter.
    I am looking for some options apart from %yyMMddHHmmss%,%SEQ%...etc
    Please suggest if any of you have information on how to put values from a variable to file name attribute in file adapter
    regards
    Saiju

    Hi Saiju,
    Yes there is.
    Assign your file name to a variable, let's say 'fileName'.
    Now go to your invoke activity(for the specific fileadapter) -> Property tab-> find a property call jca.file.FileName -> in the value field assign 'fileName' variable.
    That's it... (assuming you are using 11g)

    Hi Ralf,
    i think, you need for each XML msg (each different root element) a new adapter -> a new IF determination, new rec agreement and a new channel.
