Oracle Reports compatible for any Web Server?

Hi,
Oracle Reports is JSP-based.So I want to know that whether this is compatible with any web server or not?To be precise, i want to know can i use Resin Webserver,Oracle database server? Lemme know ASAP.

Financial Reporting - PDF has not been configured for this web server.

When I try a Print Preview of my report, I received this error "PDF has not been configured for this web server".
As far as I know, this error is confusing because when I look on my log files I found this:

I read a lot of document but it seem to be au communication issues!!!
Can someone help me with that.

I believe the supported version for ghost script is 7.0.6; I had the same problem and after installing the lower version it worked like a charm.
If you cant find the older version let me know, I'll email it to you or place it in my website.

Oracle error ORA-00600 when using Oracle 10g and Sun One Web Server 6.1

I have a java application that was running under Solaris 8 and Oracle 9i. I am trying to get it up and running on a new server that is configured with Solaris 9 and Oracle 10g. Whenever the application tries to connect to the database it receives the following error: ORA-00600 [ttcgcshnd-1][0]. My research indicates that this is an internal Oracle error that represents a low level unexpected condition. I have looked through my configuration for the Web Server and I have not been able to determine the cause of this problem. My DBA tells me that we have the latest patch installed for Oracle! Has anyone encountered this problem before? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If the problem is also present in a SWING app, i.e. outside the web server, then it is porbably something external to the webserver.
I think you should ensure that the driver and database are compatible with each other. It is very likely that you need a new jdbc driver for the new database.

Oracle Database Gateway for MS SQL server

Hi,
we have Oracle Database Appliance.
OS: Oracle Linux 5 x64
DB: 11.2.0.3 enterprise (Oracle Database Gateway for MS SQL server at the same version)
Communication with remote DB is OK, but CPU load is too high without any reason. CPU waste, useless HW load, energy waste.

Oracle Transparent Gateway for MS SQL Server

Hello,
I successfully installed the Oracle transparent Gateway for MS SQL Server for Oracle 8i. Now I am doing the same for Oracle 9i.
Does anyone know how to 'create a new gateway service' on 9i???
This is how you would do that on 8i on the Windows box...
1) At the MS-DOS prompt, enter:
> set GTW_EXE=TG4MSQL.EXE
2) To create a new gateway service name, enter:
> GTWSRV73 sid -CREATE | MORE
-where sid is the gateway sid.
Does anyone know how to do those steps for 9i Oracle Transparent Gateway?

Oracle grid infrastructure for a standalone server download

Hi there,
I am trying to install Oracle 11g but it says if I want to use ASM and oracle Restart then I must intsall Oracle grid infrastructure for a standalone server.
I am doing this installation on my home pc running Windows 7 to make sure it work, however, I downloaded Database 11g Enterprise/Standard Editions but i cannot find any download for Oracle grid infrastructure for a standalone server.
Can anyone please help as i am confused here??
I even went to the /stage directory of my 11g download and there is no folder called cluster or grid or anything.

When you go to OTN to download the software, click on the "See All" link next to the platform you are downloading and you'll see the links for GRID.
However, you do not need to install GRID if you don't plan on using ASM and Restart.

Hi,
We installed 11.1.2 Hyperion WorkforcePlanning on Linux 32 bit OS.
When the user opens the workspace and tries to see the "Profit and Loss" and selects
"File --> Open In --> PDF format" , it just flicks for a sec and gives following message :
" PDF has not been configured for this web server"
Can somebody suggest me what to do ?

Check your print server service on your foundation server, sometimes I have had that just stop for whatever reason.

I have to retrieve data from Web Server and display in my iphone apps. I want to know that is there any API through which i can connect my apps to server and get data.
One way i know that use NSURLConnection and get XML response and prase it and use it like that.

NSURLConnection is straightforward to use. In the mobile world, and especially if you intend to use certain google APIs, I would rather tend to use JSON instead of XML. A great JSON parser for objective-c is here: http://code.google.com/p/json-framework/

How to run a report jsp on a Web Server

Hi,
I've been working as plsql developer for many years, but I'm completely new on Oracle Reports.
My question is very simple.
I've tried to create a report by using the Wizard and once finished I see that, if I try to save the report, it's saved as .jsp
Does this mean that I can simply save my .jsp on a Web Server (for instance Tomcat) and run it on a browser?

No, you need the Reports Server (as part of the Application Server or Weblogic, depending on your version).
I try to save the report, it's saved as .jspThat depends. You can save it as a .rdf file too (so called Paper Layout). I think this option is used more often.

Alternate distros for a web server

I've been running my web server on arch using the lts kernel for ages, but since i moved it into a vm on an esxi host, it's been troublesome at best and vmware tools isn't much better
so i'm looking for an alternative distro. so far debian or centos seem like good candidates and im currently grabbing centos to start testing in a new vm
I thought I'd post and see if anyone has any input that my googling may not have yielded?

Use separate packages for apache, php, mysql, ... , then you can react better when security problems in a single component occur.
