Oracle Reports gives : "Failed to locate the Browser" Error. Please help.

Hello All,
I am new to Oracle Reports Developer. I followed the "Oracle Reports Tutorials" (Document ID : B14364-01) to build my first report.
I tried to run the report in web layout mode : I got the following things.
1) A new blank firefox window.
2) After a few seconds : A message window in Report Builder with : "Failed to Locate the Browser" Message
My Machine details :
Windows XP sp3.
Oracle Developer Suite 10g.
Firefox version : 3.5.
Registry Entries : HKEY_CURRENT_USER|Software|Oracle|Toolkit|TKBrowser. No BrowserName, BrowserPath keys found. So I added these keys manually under the paths :
HKEY_CURRENT_USER|Software|Oracle|Toolkit|TKBrowser|BrowserName (value = firefox)
HKEY_CURRENT_USER|Software|Oracle|Toolkit|TKBrowser|BrowserPath (value=C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe)
Ran the report again. This time also I encountered the same scenarios which I mentioned previously. Also tried with registry setting
HKEY_CURRENT_USER|Software|Oracle|Toolkit|TKBrowser with value "BrowserName=firefox;BrowserPath=C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe".
I also ran with the all the settings once without restarting the computer after making the changes. And also ran each time by restarting the computer whenever I changed the value. I could not get a break thourgh.
Please help me in resolving this issue. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for replying. I tried the same thing with Netscape 9 now. It is still displaying a blank web page and after a few seconds the same message in Reports Developer : " Failed to locate the Browser".
Is there any specific setting that I need to customize in order to run the reports? My Forms are being executed without any issues. Where as I have problem with Reports Developer.

Uninstalling Oracle Client 8.0.5.0 And Getting Error - Please Help

I have installed the Oracle 8.0.5.0 client on a server and now I can't get it off. When I run the install program and select everything to uninstall, it starts to process and then gives me the following error.
It was not possible to find a value for the variable 'rdbms80' in '$ORACLE'. It is therefore not possible to remove Required Support Files. Please restore the binding for 'rdbms80' in '$ORACLE' in order to remove Required Support Files.
Could you PLEASE help with this?

I guess results are unpredictable when using such an old client, that was not written to handle pipelined functions. Presumably in its communication with the server it is sending the wrong information because it doesn't know what datatype it is dealing with.
You will also hit problems dealing with object and collection types in general, timestamps, intervals and WITH clauses. I've had no problems using the 10g client against a 9.2 database. Not only do you get a better version of SQL*Plus, but it solved some similar problems within PL/SQL Developer.

Very Annoying Browser Error - Please Help

I have Acrobat Pro CS3 set as default for reading pdf's, because I often have to edit the pdf's I open. This works fine with pdf's I open from disk.
However, it seems that somehow Acrobat Pro has taken over as default for opening pdf's inside browsers as well. My plugins list in FF shows "Adobe Acrobat 9.1.0.163 Adobe PDF Plug-In For Firefox and Netscape". Whenever I navigate to a page which is a pdf, the entire Acrobat Pro external program opens, displaying a blank page and an error message popup - when I click OK on the error, the application closes and the pdf opens in the browser window - sometimes this requires several tries before the pdf opens in the browser.

I have Reader 10 installed on the system, and I updated from 9 this week - it did not correct this.
Any suggestions on how to set my system up with Acrobat Pro as default for opening pdf's from disk, and having browser directly use a plugin?

Now, open an X terminal and run this command
sh MyDocs/.documents/debug.sh
When it finishes (it will take 30 mins or more!.. might be worth waiting until you have a charger handy!) it will show you an email address., make a note of it..
On the phone you'll find a file called debug.tgz.. Using a PC transfer the file debug.tgz off and email it to that email address.

Can you expand more on what you'd like to see when it comes to annotation?
As per highlighting, are you referring to the ability to select text? If so, you can do this now
To do it, tap and hold a word or sentence you'd like to copy for a few seconds and text selections will appear allowing you select text followed by copying it. Thanks!

Failed to open the connection error using Business View OLE DB

I have a Crystal Report built on a Business View with the db being accessed by an OLE driver. Everything works fine using Crystal Designer, but when I try to access it through BOE I get the "Failed to open the connection" error. I have the ole drivers installed on the server.
We are on BOE 12.1.0.
The db is IBM as400.
Suggestions??

Ok so I spent the day trying to find the differences between the working and the non-working application. I began by adding code one piece at a time to the working application. The goal was to try and get it to break on the deployment server. I found the lines of code that is causing the break on the deployment server. Here it is:

This sub-routine is called from my button click code and is used to set the parameters for the report. Once I added this to the working application it broke also. My goal here is to send the parameters to the report from a form the user is filling out. Please keep in mind this code works in Visual Studio 2005 and my local IIS server running on my development machine. It breaks on the target deployment server
The code broke on reports with sub-reports as well as report with no sub-reports. As soon as it was added and deployed the application through the "Failed to open the connection" error.
Thoughts?

I setup Oracle 10g for window 2003. When to Configuration Assistans then show table error : Failed ta start the service, Error:0, The operation completed successfully.
In the Event Viewer i can see the following:

I set the Path variable C:\oracle\SOL\102\bin and the ORACLE_HOME to:

But it did not solve the problem.
I installed only Windows 2003 Enterprise Server with Service Pack 2
when i use this command isqlplusctl start at command prompt the message appears:
Failed ta start the service, Error:0, The operation completed successfully.
please can you help here?

But when i uninstall it the same error appears...
But i think Oracle do run with 1.4.2_09 or not?

Had the same problem and the same message -- was suddenly unable to access icloud apps on my pc, also using Windows 7 and Internet Explorer. After several days of pulling my hair out, decided to try a different browser and was able to get in by using Firefox instead of Internet Explorer. Hope this helps.

I am trying to setup a Fujitsu fi-6130Z for use with Acrobat 9.5.5. When I open Acrobat manually I am able to scan as desired.
However, the "scan" button on the scanner is set to open Acrobat when pressed but I receive the error message exactly as the title of this post is described. I have reinstalled Acrobat and the scanner drivers to no avail. Fujitsu said this is an Acrobat issue and not with their scanner. Any ideas?

I am on the Adobe Download Assistant. It was stuck at "less than a minute" for an hour and a half, showing that the installation was basically done, since the installation bar was full. But it was stuck. Now it has stopped all together, and is restarting the download from scratch.
Apparently it does not save the download, or only saves a small portion.

It is at 85.6 MB, even though a short time ago it was close to 99.9% done with the 6,352 MB download.
My internet connection is fine, all is working, and I am able to browse, etc.

The conflicts are with the Adobe Download Assistant.
I amabout ready to just give up, and look for alternatives.

Also when i take the disk out it seems fine nd everything seems to be burned onto the disk. I am buring mac os x lion onto a disk.
The disk i am using is nextech and i am burning at the slowest speed (4x).
Also this is my 3rd time trying to do this and the verifying process keeps failing.... what do i do?

There is no chance at all that you can activate the iPad without the previous user's Apple ID and password. That is the feature of iOS 7 Activation Lock.
Every time I read one of these post, I can't help but think that the user asking about this (in this case - you) was duped into purchasing a stolen device. If the seller was legit, they would have erased the device completely before they sold it.

Your visa card is a credit card, not debit card? Do you meet the requirements as below, interpreted strictly?
