Oracle Reports Listing/Summary

Does anyone have a document that lists all Oracle Reports (or even just PO reports) and includes a brief summary of what each does? Thanks in advance.

I personally don't have this...however I have found it useful to go out to Metalink and in the search type in Purchasing SST...you can get to the users guide for whatever version you are using and there is generally a reports section in each guide.

  • Error in standard Customer Listing Summary report

I have three questions about this report.
    1) Has this report by chance been deprecated? All of the environments that I have checked have the customer listing summary (and detail) concurrent program as NOT enabled. We are on oracle applications version 11.5.10.2.
    2) When I try to run the report wide open it fails with the message "process terminated by signal 10". I figure this is due to the fact there are over 1 million customers in the table and the server is running out of memory or something of that nature. Any other ideas as to why I'm receiving this error?
    3) The report will complete successfully if you include some parameters. I used customer number in this case and it worked; however, when I tried customer name low and customer name high. Any value I choose would result in the following error: REP-0091: Invalid value for parameter 'P_CUSTOMER_NAME_LOW', which seems to point to a data type error. I checked the value set, AR_CUSTOMER_NAME, and it has a char data type of size 360 which matches the data type varchar2 and size 360 of the database column, hz_cust_accounts.party_name. Any suggestions as to why I am receiving this error?

  • How to create a page that lists available Oracle Reports to execute?

    APEX Version: 3.2.0.00.27
    Database: Oracle 10g XE
Hello! I'm fairly new to APEX and adapting to the features and terminology related to this product.
I don't think this issue is unique to Oracle Reports, but rather the concept of a page that reads from table (maybe a "report?") to provide a result set of data which the user can click on a result to direct to another page.
In any case, I have a table in the database which stores all the attributes (report title, parameter names, RDF name, etc) of about 100 Oracle Reports. So far, I've successfully created an application page that features Items that are used to execute a single Oracle Report. Now, instead of creating unique individual pages for each of the 100 Oracle Reports, featuring the report's attributes (parameters, etc), what do I need to do just have one APEX page that dynamically reads from the table and builds the Region and its Items based on what's in the table? Furthermore, I would like to have an initial page that lists every report available to the user, which they can then click on the name, and then it will take them to the page that presents all the parameters needed to execute the report. How to do this? I understand there is a concept of List (under Shared Components), but it would be impractical to create a List and an entry for each report, and then branch to the parameter page...not to mention, whenever a report is added or deleted, the List would need to be updated.
Can someone give me some pointers on how to approach this? It doesn't seem all too complex, but I just don't know at this point what the most practical way of accomplishing this...not sure what kind of pages, region, items, etc to create.
Also, any reference books that you guys recommend on the ins/outs of APEX? I realize Oracle has documentation, tutorials, and OBE's on this product, but from what I've seen they aren't thorough enough in explaining what each property/attribute of the various objects that can be created in APEX.

but rather the concept of a page that reads from table (maybe a "report?") to provide a result set of data which the user can click on a result to direct to another page. You are on the right track with the idea of an initial page with a report region listing your reports as links. Not sure from the provided information if this out of the box capability will meet your actual requirement, but try the Create Page wizard > New page > Form > Form on a Table with Report as a first approximation.
instead of creating unique individual pages for each of the 100 Oracle Reports, featuring the report's attributes (parameters, etc), what do I need to do just have one APEX page that dynamically reads from the table and builds the Region and its Items based on what's in the table? If this can't be handled using the built-in Form on a Table with Report design pattern, it sounds like it will be possible using a dynamic form generated using the [APEX_ITEM API|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B28359_01/appdev.111/b32258/api.htm#BGBHDGAI] either as another report region or a PL/SQL Dynamic Content region.
Also, any reference books that you guys recommend on the ins/outs of APEX? [Pro Oracle Application Express|http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/reader/159059827X/ref=sib_dp_pt#reader-link], the authors of which are active voices on this forum, is a good book. The forum itself is an unbelievable resource, as is the hosted service for learning and experiment at [apex.oracle.com|http://apex.oracle.com/i/index.html].

  • List of Oracle Reports run through Oracle Portal.

    Hi,
It's possible that I am posting my message to a wrong Forum. If that's so, please let me know (and the correct forum too).
I have several Oracle Reports that are run through Oracle Portal (when user clicks a link for a report). I want to get a list of all such Oracle Reports in one go as I need to modify all of them. At the moment, to get the actual report name that I need to modify I am following the steps below.
When I am at 'Oracle Reports Security' page (in the Portal) where there is a section 'Reports Definition File Access',
    1. I click list icon without entering any value in the box. It shows me a list of all report definitions.
    2. After selecting a report definition, and clicking Edit, it shows me 'Manage Component' page. There are several links available. One of them is 'Edit'.
    3. I click 'Edit' and it shows me the actual 'Oracle Reports File Name'. This is the file I need to work on.
But instead of following the above steps for each of the several reports I need to modify, is there any way, say by running a SQL query, to find out the actual Oracle Reports file names?
The 'Manage Component' page shows 'Run Link' and links for 'PL/SQL source'. I tried to search for the schema name and package name in the database (by connecting as SYS user). However, I found neither the Schema not the Package.
Hope my question is clear. In brief, I want to get a list of Oracle Reports file names that are run through Oracle Portal.
Any questions, please let me know.
    Thanks and regards,
    Manoj.

    Jim,
Did you ever try to add Reports portlet as an item, so that user can click on each item to customize/schedule the report? You can have 50 of them, if that is what you really need.
Any reason why you want to create custom user interface, instead of using this vehicle that Portal provided by default?
You mentioned "The report Portlet ... does not allow customization." Actually, it does. You can do it by clicking on the Customize link of the Reports portlet.
    Hope this helps,
    -Jeff

  • Multiple selection list and passing that value to oracle reports

    Hi
I need to create a multiple selection list and then based on use selection, I need to pass that value to oracle reports. Can any one help with steps on how I can do this. Thanks

    Hi
Concatenate the multiple values into a string separated by comma and then pass that string to report as a parameter.
In report query, you have to use the lexical parameter using ' & '

  • Oracle Reports Parameter List form called through URL bring blank page

We are using 10g Release 2
We are able to load balance all other reports out there.
    1. Using run_report_objects in oracle forms
    2. Using a URL to call a report directly with parameters.
However we are unable to use the URL function if there there is a hard ware load balancer in front. For the following scenario
    1. Using a URL to call an oracle report using its own internal parameters form. This is with the parameter "paraform=yes"

  • Perfomance of oracle report

    Hi,
I am working on a oracle report. the report performance is very slow.
Based on the requirement i have designed my data model in such a way that
i used many formula columns & summary columns...
Can some let me know how to tune the report. and increase its performance...
Plz let me know if you guys need any more details.

    Hi,
Formula columns are like subprogram, being called at the run time of the main query. They always degrade the report performance.

    # entry in the PDF:Subset section of uifont.ali would be:
    # "MS PGothic" = "msgothic.ttc,1"
    # NOTES ON PRECEDENCE OF PDF SECTIONS:
    # If you have entries for a same font in many PDF sections, then Font
    # Aliasing entry will take precedence over Font Subsetting entry. Entries
    # in Font Subsetting will take precedence over the entries in Font Embedding
    # section.
    # Generic entries for a font must follow more specific entries for the same
    # font. For instance, if you want to subset helvetica Plain, helvetica Bold,
    # helvetica Italic and helvetica Bold-Italic fonts, your entries must be:
    # [ PDF:Subset ]
    # helvetica..Italic.Bold.. = "Arialbi.ttf"
    # helvetica...Bold.. = "Arialb.ttf"
    # helvetica..Italic... = "Ariali.ttf"
    # helvetica..... = "Arial.ttf"
    # If helvetica..... entry appears in the top of the list, all the styles of
    # helvetica font in the layout will be subset as helvetica Plain font.

  • How can I use unix commands from oracle report

I have to use the following command from oracle reports.
In oracle forms we can use the HOST command but what about oracle reports2.5.
I have to email the attached file 100245.pdf from oracle reports to the given email id
    uuencode 100245.pdf 100245.pdf | mailx -s "test" [email protected]

    Hi,
It's because .bat (or .cmd) files are scripts and not executables and are interpreted using the command line executable - which is normally cmd.exe (although you can buy others).
So you need to call cmd.exe passing the bat file name as a parameter, something like
    cmd.exe /c batchfilename
Without the /c you will never get a response.
However, this brings us to the bizarre conclusion that you are going to:
    call cmd.exe (a shell interpreter)
    to launch a batch file
that calls cygwin (another shell interpreter)
    which then runs ls
    When shouldn't that just be:
call cmd.exe to run the dir command
Or better yet, If you are just after a file name listing and you seem to understand Java stored procs, why not just write a JSP to list the contents of a directory? No problems with OS dependant commands, scripts and 3rd party interpreters. Plenty of examples of that out on the internet as well.

  • Which table keeps the Discoverer Report list?

    Hi,
I'm new to Discoverer, actually I haven't started to use yet.
I would like to know is it possible to retrieve a list of reports created in Discoverer so that I can add them to the standard reports that I developed using Oracle Report builder in my application. If possible, which table can I get the report list?
My second question, is it possible to run a Discoverer report directly if I have the report link? Or everytime I run I must enter the schema username and password?
    Please advise.
    Thank you.

    Hi
With regards to question 1, I don't believe this is possible any more. The older versions were rather flexible in that approach but sadly, no more.
With regards to question 2, using a VPD you can authenticate to your heart's content using any custom defined table you wish. This is just an out of the box idea, and I don't know whether it will work, but here goes.
The table that stores public connections is this one: orasso.wwsso_psex_user_info$
I am wondering what would happen if we put a restriction on SELECT from that table to not allow selection if the SSO user was not of a certain class or did not have a certain privilege.
Would anyone else care to comment here?
By the way, inside SQL, this code SYS_CONTEXT('USERENV', 'CLIENT_IDENTIFIER') will return the SSO user.
For more info on public connections, look here: http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/html/B13918_03/conns.htm#i1016752

  • Layout issue while trying Migrate Oracle Report to XML publisher Reports

    Hi
I am trying to Convert Seeded Oracle Reports (rdf) to BI Publisher reports, in doing so encounter layout issues. The layout of the RTF , PDF or HTML generated by BI Publisher is different form the text, PDF or HTML outputs generated by the concurrent report. The problem with the BI Publisher template and out put
Is, the lay out is getting distorted .
Steps to archive the migration :
    -     download the rdf from the server to local m/c.
    -     execute Forms 9i Util rwconverter to generate a xml
    -     use the oracle.apps.xdo.rdfparser.RTFTemplateGenerator API to generate a RTF template of the report layout
    -     Then use this template to generate a XSL via oracle.apps.xdo.template.RTFProcessor API
    -     The Apply the XSL on the XML data output of the report using oracle.apps.xdo.template.FOProcessor to generate RTF , PDF & HTML files.
Name of the Report used for migration “FSG - Report Detail Listing” , responsibility GL super User. This was just a random report we picked-up for trial.
The layout of these files seems to distorted than the layout of the original report output as generated by the rdf report.
Pls suggest some means to resolve this or any pointers towards what causing this could be of help.
    -     Shudipto

The process of "converting" an old Oracle Reports rdf into a BIP report is more akin to writing a brand new report in BIP than to what most people would consider a true conversion.
The conversion routine outlined by Oracle just gives you a starting point for converting RDF layouts into BIP, and nothing more. In regards to the data define it does somewhat better generating your queries and XML layout (but honestly, that is the easy part), but even for the data define it will lose your formula columns as well as report triggers.
I have used the converter on several dozen rdf files and I have yet to see one that is better than 10-20% ready for use after the conversion process.
I would strongly suggest that you only convert the reports that you have to convert (for enhancements, modifications, etc). If it ain't broke in old Oracle Reports, dont' try to fix it in BIP.

  • Using CLOBs in oracle Report Builder

I want to select all the data in a CLOB column using SQL Navigator by just doing
    select entry_note
    from chartentries;
just as you say in your example by it just gives me back a result of (ORACLOB).
    If I do
    select to_char(entry_note)
    from chartentries;
    I get this error.
    If I do
    select dbms_lob.substr(entry_note,4000,1)
    from chartentries
I get this (there’s more up to 32000 characters in a clob) and these weird squares which I think are CR (carriage returns) or LF (line feeds). I don’t want to see those characters and I would like to retrieve the entire CLOB in one swoop without doing data manipulations of substringing.
Using the same data in Oracle Report Builder, I want to select all the data in a CLOB column into a field in a Paper report layout but I keep getting errors, ora-6502, and I've found out that I am restricted to 4000 characters and in Report 9i it looks like the largest field you can have is 4000 characters. My CLOB information can be up to 32000 characters long or longer and I do not want to substring out 4000 characters at a time into separate fields. In Crystal reports there is no problem just selecting the clob in a simple query and it is there in one shot. I would have thought by now that Oracle would have changed its development tools to be able to handle Clobs simply without any manipulation. Does anyone know how to do this in Report builder? I just have a simple query:
    select entry_datetime,
    to_char(replace((entry_note),chr(13))) as entry_note
    from chartentries
    where patient_id = 49741
Another thing I want to do, is call this Oracle report from a PL/SQL block passing several parameters to the report and also call a Crystal report from a PL/SQL block passing several parameters to the report. Does anyone know what the commands are?

What I had to do is create a query using query builder. This works fine; it's when trying to add the column to an existing query is where the data inconstancy error occurs. One thing you have to keep in mind is it will only work using the query builder in conjunction with the report wizard; I am not sure why. To incorporate the comments into an existing frame you will have to cut the frame created by the wizards and copy it into the existing frame. Otherwise the column name will not show in the source list of the property Inspector.
    Good Luck

  • Oracle Reports - Distributing Multiple Reports in a Management Report

    Hi,
I am new to Oracle Reports and would sincerely appreciate some guidance.
    Requirement.
I plan on using Oracle Reports to write multiple reports containing Text, Graphs, Crosstabs, Tables etc. There are 3 developers and each will be developing a number of reports.
At the end of each month, we need to run all the reports and publish it into a Management Report Pack.
This Management Report Pack must contain a table of contents with the names of the different reports and page numbers. Each Report in the Report pack needs to have a header, footer and page number.
The number of reports will change on a monthly basis so the page numbering will not be specific to a report.
    Summary,
    3 developers writing multiple reports
All reports must be run and then printed out in a specific order.
Table of Contents page with page numbering for each report.
How can we do this with Oracle Reports?
Is it possible, and if so, how?
What is involved and what is required?
    Your assistance is highly appreciated.
    Thank you.

You should be creating a universe using the table with filter utilizing a column which accepts a parameter value of language and shows the data in that specific language. This concept is already used in SAP standard audit universe which accepts language for any query and shows the data in that language.. The logic for the derived column for the table should look something like below Table.LANGUAGE = @Prompt(Select language)
