Oracle Reports Security Settings???

I am attempting to display Oracle Reports that are on a report server on a portal.
I look here and it tells me to set up the report server info on the portal...which makes sense...

But I go to the administration tab in portal builder, and there is no Oracle Reports Security Settings option. Anyone know why???

XL Reporter-Security settings in Microsoft Excel prohibit XL Reporter

i am getting the following error when i run the reports in XL Reporter
XL Reporter-Security settings in Microsoft Excel prohibit XL Reporter from running.
I have made the following chnages
1. Start Microsoft Excel.
2. In the Tools menu, choose Macro->Security...
This opens the Security window.
3. Choose the Trusted Sources tab and make sure the Trust all installed add-ins and templates and Trust access to Visual Basic Project checkboxes are selected
I am still getting the same error.

In ref. SBO System that you are loggged on to, do you have admistration rights on the local computer.
Are you trying to open the XL reporter for the first time ?
Which version of SBO you are working on?

XL Reporter security settings Excel 2007: com add-in Load Behavior: unloade

I have followed all the posts regarding the security settings in MS Excel (I'm using 2007), and I still get the error. I believe the problem relates to the com add-in. I have the add-in "available" but always unchecked. When I check it, I see the behavior as "unloaded". close the com add-in window and still get the error. Each time I return to the com add-in area the SAP Business One XL Reporter add-in is unchecked again.
Has anyone discovered this behavior?

I discovered a solution. Apparently, Excel had disabled the add-in in a prior attempt to start the add-in. I found out how to reenable the add-in at this microsoft note:

How do I get the inherent environment variables ( like userid, current responsibility she has chosen in) when a user login to EBS and call the concurrent program?
I what to add a security feature of my report that if her responsibility is like Payables Manager - CompanyA , she can not access the data of Paybles Manager - CompanyB.
I heard that it is done in the pre-report triggers where you get all the desired environment varibles for controlling your report.

Hi,
Multi-org access control comes into play here, and with R12 there is the new organization parameter on concurrent programs.
You don't seem to be talking about environment variables (they are at the operating system level) but profile option values - which are initialized in reports when the FND SRWINIT user exit is called in your before report trigger - see the Oracle Applications Developers Guide. You need to add user exits to custom reports per details in the guide.

List of Oracle Reports run through Oracle Portal.

It's possible that I am posting my message to a wrong Forum. If that's so, please let me know (and the correct forum too).
I have several Oracle Reports that are run through Oracle Portal (when user clicks a link for a report). I want to get a list of all such Oracle Reports in one go as I need to modify all of them. At the moment, to get the actual report name that I need to modify I am following the steps below.
When I am at 'Oracle Reports Security' page (in the Portal) where there is a section 'Reports Definition File Access',
1. I click list icon without entering any value in the box. It shows me a list of all report definitions.
2. After selecting a report definition, and clicking Edit, it shows me 'Manage Component' page. There are several links available. One of them is 'Edit'.
3. I click 'Edit' and it shows me the actual 'Oracle Reports File Name'. This is the file I need to work on.
But instead of following the above steps for each of the several reports I need to modify, is there any way, say by running a SQL query, to find out the actual Oracle Reports file names?
The 'Manage Component' page shows 'Run Link' and links for 'PL/SQL source'. I tried to search for the schema name and package name in the database (by connecting as SYS user). However, I found neither the Schema not the Package.
Hope my question is clear. In brief, I want to get a list of Oracle Reports file names that are run through Oracle Portal.
Any questions, please let me know.

Did you ever try to add Reports portlet as an item, so that user can click on each item to customize/schedule the report? You can have 50 of them, if that is what you really need.
Any reason why you want to create custom user interface, instead of using this vehicle that Portal provided by default?
You mentioned "The report Portlet ... does not allow customization." Actually, it does. You can do it by clicking on the Customize link of the Reports portlet.

How to remove Oracle reports banner from portal

I tried to rerun the rwaddpag.sql script. I tried to delete Reports security pages,Reports security Banner,
ORACLE Repots security provider. I Succefully deleted Oracle Reports Security and Oracle Reports Security provider.
But Oracle secutity Banner not deleting. I tried so many times it's not deleting. Please give me a solution
for deleting Reports Banner from protal,without deleting this one I can't run rwaddpag.sql successfully.

I am using Oracle 9iAS Release 2(9.0.2.0.1)
Portal Version 9.0.2.2.22
Following steps taken for deletion
1)Removing Reports Security Pages
Log on to Oracle 9iAS portal,Click Builder to go to Oracle 9iAS Portal Builder. Click Navigator. In the find filed, search for %reports security%. Deleted the pages named Oracle Reports Security.
2)Removing the Reports Security Provider.
Log on to Oracle 9iAS portal,Click Builder to go to Oracle 9iAS Portal Builder.goto Build tab. In the provider portlet , typed ORACLE REPORTS SECURITY in the Name filed. Clicked Delete.
3)Same procedure I done for Oracle Reports Security Banner
but it is not deleting.
The Oracle report Security and Oracle Reports Security provider deleting time it will ask confirmation for delete. But Oracle Reports Security Banner Delete clicking time nothing showing just a blank screen

Oracle Reports Builder X Oracle Portal - Integration

Hi everybody
I've created some reports with Oracle Reports Builder. Then I saved them as a JSP file.
I can view these reports in a normal WEB page, without problems. All that I need is to call the page with the parameters.
Now I need to deploy this report as a portlet, inside the Oracle Portal.
So, I've read the document "Publishing Reports to the WEB" (http://otn.oracle.com/products/reports/htdocs/getstart/docs/a92102_01.pdf) and I've followed the steps to run the report (JSP file) as a Portlet.
I've done the following:
- I've created a Database Provider
- I've created the "Report Server Access"
- I've created the "Report Definition File Access"
Until this point, everything is ok, I can "Run" and "Run as a Portlet" the report.
So, in the next class, "Adding the Report Portlet to a Page" (Page 8-8), the report portlet simply doesn't appear in the Portal DB Provider to wich it belongs!!! :-(
Has someone had this kind of problem?
Any hint will be welcome!
P.S: The Oracle Portal, the Application Server, and the Reports Server are in a SUN Machine.
The Portal version is 2 (release 2).

here is what you have to do:
1. navigate to the db provider which holds the reports. click
on grant access: check the expose as provider
2. builder - administer - oracle reports security -
edit the reports definition file access you created for
your report.
click on the access tab - check publish to portal.
now you can see your report portlets for selection
in portal.

I can run the report as portlet but I can't see the "Access" tab under Customize. I know the option "Publish to Portal" is available in other object, but the "Access" tab does not appear in any of the Report Defitinion file acess page. Only "Develop" and "Manager" is available. I'm running on 9iAS R1.02.2.2a.

Using JavaScript to create reports listing security settings

Hi...I'm trying to create an Acrobat 8 batch process using a JavaScript that creates a log/report that lists the security settings for each PDF in a directory. I want to be able to periodically run this script so that I can ensure that (a)each file uses the departmental permissions password and (b) that the set of permissions (copying not allowed etc.) are set according to our standard.
I've looked at the JavaScript reference etc. but am seriously confused. There's a securityhandler object but how can I use that (or something else) to get a list of the doc's security permissions and to check that password x has been used?

Need to solve serious security problem with Oracle Reports URL

As mentioned repeatedly on this forum, Oracle Reports allows serious security breaches that allow users to see reports that they did not generate -- it's easy to guess a legal URL by changing the getjobid parameter.
I've reviewed the JavaDocs to part of the rwrun.jar file and reviewed some of the example report plugins. This shows promise in helping to solve this security problem but critical pieces are missing.
1) The javadocs are accurate for only 10g (9.0.4) but not correct for 10g (10.1.2+), which we are currently using. I need access to the updated version of this javadoc.
2) Even with the updated version of the JavaDoc, I haven't found a class from which to inherit that would give me the opportunity to generate random jobid values, which then would effectively prevent users from guessing other jobid values, and thereby gaining access to other's reports (which in our cases, may contain sensitive information.
3) We have found that we can send the parameter=value of EXPIRATION=1 which helps protect such information, but this requires that every program which invokes a report be modified to add this parameter. It would be far better for the report server to be configured to use a java class we write that inherits from some rwrun.jar class that would by default, add the EXPIRATION=1 parameter.

But I would know if it could be possible to hide the technical name of the query in the url. It could improve the security level of our reports in a first time in this way.
