Oracle Role Manager won't install

I'm running MS Windows Server 2003 SP1 in a Virtual PC environment. The Oracle DB instance that I plan to connect with is hosted on another Virtual PC. Network configuration between the Guest PCs appears to be working normally through a Microsoft Loopback Adapter that I installed on the Host.
When attempting to run the setup.exe utility that ships with ORM (which should trigger the launch of the Oracle Universal Installer), a CMD window opens in which I can see things proceeding as I would expect them to.
However, when the window closes, instead of the Universal Installer GUI popping up, nothing happens.
When you restart the server, you get a message indicating that setup.exe encountered some problems and are prompted to report the problem to Microsoft.
Any ideas on how to resolve this?

Sounds like an issue with OUI - there's a log file in Program Files\Oracle\<something> that should lead you toward the OUI log file. In my experience the reason this happens is due to java classpath issues..

  • Problems with the installation of Oracle Role Manager

    Hello everyone;
I have a problem with the deployment of Jboss 4.05GA; just can not load the Role Manager Administrative Console (http://localhost:8080/ormconsole)
Probe load the Jboss and that if I load the console this APPSERVER (http://localhost:8080)
Also probe load the Role Manager Web UI and I had no problems (http://localhost:8080/webui)
Use the method of installation Install Software Only then can make the integration with the IOM.
Any suggestions for solving this problem.

    HI JLK,
i think i have solved the problem. Try to install the Oracle Role Manager with the installer and select the "Install Software and Configure" and install the "Standard Model" to the Database. Don't deploy the standard.car file.
I hope i could help you.

  • RE:Oracle Role manager

    HI
can any one explain me in brief about Oracle Role Manager and where Service Oriented Architecture comes in to picture.
    Thanks

All I know abt ORM is,
1)for a typical ORM engagment you need to first need to do a top dpwn analysis to identify commonly used roles and privileges and translate them into Business Roles and IT Roles respectively.
    2) Load Hierarchy data, clean the data through ORM reporting
    3) Use Role Discoverer to mine the roles fed to it.
    4) this will then translate into a role catalogue which you need the business to agree upon and sign off on.

  • Oracle Wallet Manager won't allow me to create a certificate request

    Hello,
I am trying to setup my installation with SSL, I am trying to create a certificate request on Oracle Wallet Manager and I keep getting this error:
"Could not create certificate request. Please check user information"
I am entering the following information:
    Common Name: portal.grupoalsea.com.mx
    Organizational Unit: Desarrollo
Organization: Sistema Integral de Administracion, S.A. de C.V.
    Locality/City: Distrito Federal
    State/Province: Mexico
    Country: Mexico
    Key Size: 1024 bits
Why could this be happening? Does Oracle Wallet Manager go and look for my info some place? Common Name is the name for my site on WebCache, which is in turn mapped to the HTTP Server called Mservicio.localdomain.
At this point, I have also tried setting the Common Name to other values, like the name of my HTTP Server, the name of my HTTP server without the "localdomain", but I still get the same message.
Any help will be really appreciated!!!!

Problem was due to a bug that won't allow to enter commas in Organization Name. All we needed to do is remove the comma from the Organization name and the certificate was correctly created.

  • Application Manager won't install Illustrator

I've been trying to install Illustrator CS6 for literally weeks. Every time I try, the install either freezes at a completely random percentage, or give me an error like this:
I was having the same problem with Photoshop for a couple of days, but then it just worked. I have installed other programs like Lightroom and Edge without issue.
Is there some other way I can install Illustrator? It's extremely frustrating to have to pull out my laptop every time I need Illustrator because it won't install on my workstation.

I have the same problem, The logfile reported:
Adobe Illustrator CS6 Update (version 16.2.0)
    Installation failed. Error Code: U44M1P7
So I went to the online help and this is the conversation I had:

  • Application manager won't install and freezes almost immediately.

I am on a Mac OSX Lion. I just bought creative cloud and the Application Manager won't start. I am connected to the internet. Every time I start it up it initializes and then begins download but nothing happens. I have tried redownloading several times but end up having to Force Quit.
Would love some help! What do I do?
    Thanks

No error messages are appearing. It literally just looks like the below image for hours. When I click quit it doesn't shut down. When I into Force Quit it does not say "not responding", but forcing it to quit is the only way to get rid of it. And my internet connection is stable as far as I can see.

  • Adobe Manager won't install

I have CS6 and when I try to install CC the Adobe Adm Manager sees another version o fAdobe Adm Manager and won't finish the install.

  • Adobe Application Manager won't install anything!

I've been trying to update Photoshop CS5 to 12.0.4, and the Adobe Application Manager (AAM) keeps asking me for my system admin password.  Everytime I enter it, the window pops up again.  I could enter my password a dozen times, it won't begin any updates or installations.
    I have tried:
    shutdown and restart
    changing my admin password
installing non-Adobe software (to see if it was an OS X problem)
uninstalling all my Adobe software (same problem as trying to install)
I'd really like to be able to update my software.  Anybody know what to do?
    -Sean
iMac 2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    OS X 10.7.3

Thanks Jeff!  That worked like a charm.  I've never enabled a root user, but now that I know that exists, I'll keep that in mind if I have any other installation issues (Adobe or otherwise).
A question remains - why is AAM being stubborn with my admin password?  If anyone knows, that'd be great, otherwise, I consider this answered.

  • Desktop Manager won't install on Mac

Would think I'm just missing something obvious but I give up.
    I have administrative privileges.
Download the dmg package from BB's website without problem and opens fine. (yes, it's the Mac version, not the PC version)
Click on "Install BlackBerry Desktop software.app" and get the usual warning pop-up that it is "…an application downloaded form the Internet. Are you sure you want to open it?"
I click on "Open" and NOTHING happens (other than this pop-up window goes away).
I've closed all other programs when installing and made sure there isn't another pop-up window (hidden behind the active windows) waiting for my to respond.
I've checked the Applications folder for ANY new listings (even if it's not called something obvious like BlackBerrry Desktop Manager) and don't find anything installed/changed.
The Mac is using the Terminal program to open this Unix-exec file.
If I click on the "Uninstall BlackBerry Desktop software.app", it responds by saying it cannot find the program installed. (That tells me both that the installation package isn't entirely corrupt but that the program never actually installed)
    Using Mac OS 10.6.7.
There is no antivirus/antimalware program running during installation.
Anybody have any idea what I'm missing for what should be a simple process?

After I have restart the next, the DM installer start to work. Maybe give it a try on restart computer?

  • Application Manager Won't install in Windows 8 64bit

    Hello,
I'm running Windows 8 64bit on a recently purchased Samsung Ultrabook with Intel i5 processor/4GB ram.
I can download the Application Manager.exe file from the adobe.com website with no issue but when I click on the .exe file nothing appears to happen.
I've bypassed my firewalls and also set up firewall entries for the install program. I've tried running it in compatability mode as well as Running As Administrator. I have yet to see any feedback from the program other than about 5 seconds of the small blue "wait" circle before the computer resumes normal operation.
    Please Help!
    Thank You

Have you tried disabling your software firewall and possibly security software entirely?  Are you downloading the Adobe Application Manager from https://creative.adobe.com/?

  • App manager won't install

Running Mac OS 10.6.8 - downloaded the Adobe Applications Manager to get a Cloud  App download, and the dmg install package opens- but clicking to run the install part of the process, on the unbundled file, isn't successful. The program runs, asks for a password to update the Mac system, then returns a message that it encounters some issues, and didn't install the App Manager.  Did this three times, with the same result.  Solutions??

  • Verizon Media Manager won't install - How do I get photos from my phone memory to my PC?

I'm getting frustrated with my new Droid, HTC Incredible. The salesman said I could just plug in the USB and transfer my photos to and from my computer, that the phone would look just like an external hard drive. False...
I plug in the USB and get an option to open the folders or to install drivers. If I chose to open the folders, I see three external drives - one with an autorun.inf file and a few other files. If I click on the other two drives, I get a message telling me to install a disk in the drive.
If I click, "Install Drivers" I am taken to the VerizonWireless website and instructed to install Verizon Media Manager. Okay, so I try to do that, on my Windows 64 bit OS, and get a message that says,
"This Application does not support 64 bit operating systems - operation aborted" (or something like that).
    So now what?

I apologize you are having problems connecting your device with your PC.
    Try using these steps below:
    Windows 7
Click Start > Control Panel > System and Security > Device Manager.
    Windows Vista
Click Start > (Settings) Control Panel > (System and Maintenance) > Device Manager.
    If prompted, click Continue.
     Windows 2000 / XP
Click Start > (Settings) Control Panel > (Performance and Maintenance) > System > Hardware > Device Manager.
The following devices are normally installed:
    Anrdoid USB Devices
    My HTC
    Disk drives
    HTC Android Phone USB Device
    Modems
HTC Modem (if using as a tethered modem)
    Portable Devices
E:/ (Where E represents the assigned drive letter.)
    Universal Serial Bus controllers
    USB Composite Device
    USB Mass Storage Device
If a red X, yellow ! or yellow ? is displayed to the left of a listed device, a conflict is present and the drivers must be updated or reinstalled.
Driver conflicts may also be indicated by a device entry labeled Other Devices or Unknown.
    1.  If using the HTC DROID Incredible ADR6300 as a Sync device continue to step 3. If using the HTC DROID Incredible ADR6300 as a Modem ensure the device drivers are installed.
    2.  If VZAccess Manager is installed and a driver conflict is still present, continue to step 3. Right-click the device then click Update Driver Software.
    3.  If using Windows 2000 / XP, right-click the device then click Update Driver.
The device name may differ from the example shown.
    4. Click Browse my computer for driver software.
If using Windows 2000 / XP, select Install from a list or specific location (Advanced) then click Next.
Enter C:\Windows\System32\driver into the search window then click Next.
If using Windows 2000 / XP, ensure that Search for the best driver in these locations and Include this location in the search are selected.
    5.  The driver location can be entered manually or navigated to by clicking Browse.
If the driver software is not found, a Windows Operating System update  may be needed.
    6. Click Close.
If using Windows 2000 / XP, click Finish.
Once your done, you should be able to see one of the following choices in  your My Computer:
    Anrdoid USB Devices
    My HTC
    Disk drives
    HTC Android Phone USB Device
    Modems
HTC Modem (if using as a tethered modem)
    Portable Devices
E:/ (Where E represents the assigned drive letter.)
    Universal Serial Bus controllers
    USB Composite Device
    USB Mass Storage Device
You can then sync the device with the PC.
Connect the device to the computer with the USB cable. From the home screen, pull down the window shade (located at the top of the screen).
Touch Disk drive then touch Done.
From File Explorer / Finder on the computer, create a new music folder in Removable Disk (X.
Removable Disk (X represents the SD Card installed in the device. This name may vary.
Use the computer to copy pictures into the newly created folder.
From the home screen, pull down the window shade (located at the top of the screen).
Touch Charge only then touch Done.
Disconnect the USB cable from the computer.

  • Media Manager won't install

I have an 8220.  I am trying to manage the pictures on my device.  Apparently I did not install Media Manager when I first installed the desktop software as it is grayed out.  I tried to "modify" my installation but it looks as though it is already installed.
I am afraid to completely uninstall for fear of losing something like installed games.
    What am I missing?

So when you went to Modify the installation, was the Media Manager set to "Run all from my computer"? Was the version of the Desktop Manager you downloaded one that came with the Media Manager?
Does the 8220 have a trackball in the middle of it? If so then you do not need to use the Media Manager to transfer files to/from the BlackBerry. Check out this KB article that explains about Mass Storage Mode. This is how I transfer files to/from my device.
