Oracle Sales Analyzer and Financial Analyzer

Hi All,
Where can I download Oracle Sales Analyzer and Oracle Financial Analyzer? Are they part of any module / package?
Thanks for your help,
Shailesh

Above given information is really helpful especially for newbies who wants to retrieve the multidimensional data from sql 2005.
I would also recommend a book on OLAP and believe me its pretty informative.
The [book is available on Amazon|http://www.amazon.com/Multidimensional-Data-Modeling-Toolkit-Intelligence/dp/0981775306] & you can buy an e-book directly from the publisher by writing [email protected]

  • ORacle sales analyzer doesn't display sql's using show sq.sql.stmts

    Hi,
I cannot view the sql statements generated by Oracle Sales analyzer cube using show sq.sql.stmts.
Moreover when I check on db I don't see any sql's being issued by web OSA session.
What could be the possible reason for this?

  • Regarding Oracle Financial Analyzer

    Hi all
Does oracle Financial Analyzer works with Oracle Apps only or can it be used with Other ERP packages also??
2)Is there any document on how to get reports regarding EVA,RAROC using the Oracle Financial Analyzer.

    Hi,
OFA: How is it related to DW. Is it an OLAP tool? if yes How is it different from Express Objects and why two tools like OFA and Oracle Express Analyser/Objects?
DW usually refers to a larger enterprise solution including multiple solution areas of data consolidated. OFA is an OLAP tool which typically only focuses on one or a few solution areas, such as Finance or Human Resources. OFA is a prepackaged solution much like Office productivity software, where as Express Objects is a complete development environment for OLAP applications. Express Objects is comparable to Oracle JDeveloper or IBM Eclipse, only it's for an OLAP data source (Express Server that is).
Why two tools, well some people want custom applications developed from scratch because of user requirements and data analysis needs, while others are happy with a predeveloped solution that only needs a little customization such as OFA. OFA does a great job in the Budgeting/Planning/Reporting area.

  • How we can run Oracle Batch Manager in Oracle Sales Analyzer

    Hi,
Please guide me how we can run Oracle Batch Manager in Oracle Sales Analyser.
    Best Regards,

You cannot run Batch Manager directly from within the OSA Administrator or Analyzer clients. Batch Manager has its own GUI client that can be used the define and schedule jobs, however, it also possible to run and montitor jobs via command line as well.
    The documentation helps explain this:

    Does that help?

  • Oracle sales analyzer 11i

I would like to know if Oracle sales Analyzer 11i is available as SAAS (cloud)?
is Oracle sales analyzer part of the Sales and marketing on the cloud service?

It is regarding Express Database that was used by a client at their Head Office. They have provied us some DB files(e.g. "mdw.db","dmdw.db","mdmdw.db","pdmdw.db" and similar more like these). They have been using these databases in their sales analyzer through express relational access administrator. Now we want to user their database in our OLAP environment with our sales analyzer. But after attaching these databases in express server, we can't connect sales analyzer/application manager tools of OSA to these through relational access administrator. Can you explain why or How can we use those db files in our environment?

  • Oracle Sales Analyzer

    Hi,
I'm new to Oracle Sales Analyzer and was wondering if anyone could assist me.
If you have any idea about any sites which could give me a more detailed explaination I'd be more than grateful.
I have created my dimension tables and now I was wondering whether I needed to create cubes before starting OSA. Another question that I had was how exactly will I use OSA ( ie how will I move my data from the database and access it over OSA).
    Awaiting an early reply.
    Thanks
    Maria

The name of the attributes in the RAA project must be spelled DATE and TIMESPAN exactly. The names of the columns in the relationship tables can be anything.
If you are using DATE and TIMESPAN for the names then look at the express structure PRIOR.x, where x is the dimension abbrevation, and make sure that PRIOR.x is being populated correctly.
    Hope this helps.
Let me know if I can help further.

  • Financial Analyzer : YTD figures

We have recently implemented OFA at our site where reports have been defined for management reporting. When we try to access a YTD column in a report for Year 2000 months, the system gives following error : "An error occurred setting up data for the report. Consider changing the definition to access a different selection." We have no such problem for Year 1999.
We have tried all the suggested solution by our off-shore consultant without any luck. Such as the YTD_OFFSETVAL has all values stored in it.
I would appreciate any assistance to resolve this problem.

    Marianne,
Regret the delay in thanking you for the response. The problem was somewhere else.
We have now resolved the problem. GL_TIME1.OFFSET variable data was not submitted to Shared database.
Earlier Our consultant had responded as follows :
    QUOTE
"There will not be any Y2K problem in the YTD calculation. Infact, this same logic is used to calculate YTD in Oracle Sales Analyzer, which is another Oracle OLAP tool. Also, if you remember, we had tested the reports for March 2000 and given reports to Financial/Management Account reports. We did not have any problems at all then.
To make things more clear about the YTD formula, I am not manipulating the
year value at all. Instead, the offset variable just stores a number against
the month ranging from -11 to 0. This is used in the MOVINGTOTAL function to
total up the appropriate preceeding months from the current month. The syntax
    should make it clearer,
MOVINGTOTAL(variable, start pos, stop pos, step, TIME dimension)
eg.The offset value for month no.12 (Dec) will be -11. So that the total will be the sum of all the preceeding 11 months including the current month. The offset value for Jan will be 0, bcoz that is the first month. etc.
Yes, GL_TIME1.OFFSET is not a standard OFA object. But OFA/Express does not have a generic function to calculate YTD. Hence, we use user-defined stored variables along with MOVINGTOTAL function to get YTD.
I hope that this make things clearer." UNQUOTE

I think the problem lies in your GL_TIME1.OFFSET object. This is not a standard
OFA/GL link object. It may be something like you're using extchars on the year
value, and have introduced a Y2K bug by subtracting 1 from the '00' year to give
you '0-1'. Describe your GL_TIME1.OFFSET object - if it's a formula make sure
that it operates correctly on 2000 years, if it's a variable then make sure it's
    populated correctly.

  • Difference between Bex Analyzer and Bex WAD

    Hi Every one,
I am pretty new to SAP, and working on SAP BW Front end.
I am pretty aware of Bex Analyzer and also Browser, but i always have a doubt about Bex WAD.
In my present job i talk to the users and take the requirments and create queries in the Bex analyzer which i am comfortable doing it.
I also know all the features of Analyzer and created quries and also published it on web, and also created workbooks and inserting multiple quries in the workbook etc etc..
However i have zero knowledge on WAD and how it is useful to me, and as if now i haven't got any requirment from the client for me to create any report in WAD or do some thing in WAD.
I have gone through SAP SDN help etc but i am not understanding it at all.
So can any one explain me in a laymans terms what WAD is and how it will be useful to me?
and also if possible send me link which has got PDF screen shots of what WAD is?
    Points is for sure.
    Regards,
    Ram

    Raj,
Thanks for the reply, but i still did not get the understanding about WAD. i have studied the link which you sent me.
I am still not able to understand how it is helpful for people like me,
See i create my report in Query designer, and i can execute the query in Analyser. and if i want i can execute it in the Web from my query designer, and also i can create chart on the web if i want. And i can Broadcaste it in the Web.
and also if i want i can create it in the workbook and create chart in that work book.
Then what is the point of Web Application Designer (WAD).
See i have created the Query in Designer in Development say Sales report Query on the infoprovider for SD, now what should i do with it in WAD.
How can i get it in WAD, i went to start> all Programs>Bex> WAD and i logged in to development and a sereen opend. And from here what i can do, i mean how can i open my created query in WAD?
As you guys know i am new to SAP itself, but i dont see any advantage about WAD, i read all the articals and there i found that i can create Web Items, HTML etc etc, but i already have HTML, when i execute my query from the Designer i get it in Web Browser...
See my question is simple, i have a query which i have created in the Query Designer, now how can i get it to WAD and after getting it what can i do with it??
If any one has a screen shots of there pls send me.
And Sanjeev has sent me a PDF which i saw earlear and i done the same in my WAD but i am not about to get it to work.
I have given the points to every one but still what i need i did not get yet.
    Regards,
    Ram

  • ORACLE 10g CBO...analyze stats

    Hi
Oracle 10g R2 Documentation says CBO does not consider stats gathered by analyze table command. But analyze table updates all the stats (dba_tables etc...).
Still will these not be used?if not how ORACLE knows that stats are gathered by dbms_stats or not
I agree dbms_stats Stats are more comprehensive than analyze. But want to know whether stats gatherd by analyze are completely ignored or not
    Thanks
    Pramod

It helps if you quote the passage you have read as this makes it possible to explain why you may have misunderstood what was said - the manuals are not always completely clear.
There are some calls to the analyze command that collect statistics that the optimizer does not need - but other calls to the analyze command do collect statistics that the optimizer can use. But there are differences between the "optimizer numbers" collected by analyze and those collected by dbms_stats - so dbms_stats is the strategic choice.

  • Re creating Express Analyzer and Express Basic with BI Beans

I am trying to move an application from Express Family to Oracle OLAP 9i. I wanted to know how practically Express 4GL codes can be moved to OLAP DML and Express Analyzer/Express Basic be re-developed using BI Beans.
I am completely unaware of the method of doing it but have experience in Oracle DB 8i/9i for 4 yrs and OLAP activities for 1.5 yrs. So can understand the technical answering.
Kindly contribute to my query very very urgently.

    Hi,
Firstly, you can do some What-if type analysis with Discoverer. You can use a temporary table so that data stored by the user will only be available to the current session. I have used this technique successfully, but you don't get the power and flexibility of Express Analyzer.
You can look at using BI Beans with JDeveloper. It's quite straightforward but you will need a different skill set.
You could also have a look at Oracle BI Enterprise Edition (aka Siebel Analytics). Another option is to use Oracle Applications Express which is a fast and simple applications development environment.
    Hope that helps,

  • Is Informatica8.1.1 Data Analyzer and Metadata Manager is Mandatory

    Hi all,
Is Informatica8.1.1 Data Analyzer and Metadata Manager were mandatory components for BI-Applications intallations.
we are installing BI-Applications with Oracle Application server, but the above components were supported by Jboss/IBM webSphere/BeaWebLogic.
Let me know whether i can skip these two components while Informatica installation
    Thanks

    Hi,
You dont require Data Analyzer and Metadata Manager for OBI Apps, use custom installtion and select powercenter only while installing informatica.

  • Webtrends Intelligence Suite and Hyperion Analyzer

Hi!I want to know if there is anyone who has tried to set up a environment based on the Webtrends Intelligence Suite and use Hyperion Essbase and Hyperion Analyzer for the analysing of the data in WIS.I want to set up a unix server running WIS OLAP and Datawarehouse as well as the ESSBASE, then let clients install the analyser software on local windows machines for the reports.Anyone has any experience in this?Best RegardsTorbj?rn

Hi I looked at this last year with the add of an Oracle Express consultant in the UK, we had an express 6.3 implementation of OFA and 1.0.2.2 of 9iAS. The problem was how get a dynamic implemention OFA within a portlet. At the time the only conclusion was to host the web enabled OFA within an iFrame portlet, this however had its own problems due to the timeout settings within Express Server causing hanging sessions, requiring administrator rectification and the user having to close and restart the portal session. NOT RECOMMENDED FOR PRODUCTION ENVIRONMENT. It may be implementable now but I doubt it.

  • Diff b/w Run time Analyizer(se30),Sql Trace (st05) and Performance Analyzie

Can any one tell me the Diff b/w Run time Analyizer(se30),Sql Trace (st05) and Performance Analyzie(al21) ?

    Hi
these all are doing t he same thing that is checking the program for better performance
    Tools for Performance Analysis
    Run time analysis transaction SE30
    SQL Trace transaction ST05
    Extended Program Check (SLIN)
    Code Inspector ( SCI)
Run time analysis transaction SE30 :This transaction gives all the analysis of an ABAP program with respect to the database and the non-database processing.
SQL Trace transaction ST05: The trace list has many lines that are not related to the SELECT statement in the ABAP program. This is because the execution of any ABAP program requires additional administrative SQL calls. To restrict the list output, use the filter introducing the trace list.
The trace list contains different SQL statements simultaneously related to the one SELECT statement in the ABAP program. This is because the R/3 Database Interface - a sophisticated component of the R/3 Application Server - maps every Open SQL statement to one or a series of physical database calls and brings it to execution. This mapping, crucial to R/3s performance, depends on the particular call and database system. For example, the SELECT-ENDSELECT loop on a particular database table of the ABAP program would be mapped to a sequence PREPARE-OPEN-FETCH of physical calls in an Oracle environment.
The WHERE clause in the trace list's SQL statement is different from the WHERE clause in the ABAP statement. This is because in an R/3 system, a client is a self-contained unit with separate master records and its own set of table data (in commercial, organizational, and technical terms). With ABAP, every Open SQL statement automatically executes within the correct client environment. For this reason, a condition with the actual client code is added to every WHERE clause if a client field is a component of the searched table.
To see a statement's execution plan, just position the cursor on the PREPARE statement and choose Explain SQL. A detailed explanation of the execution plan depends on the database system in use.
    Extended Program Check
This can be called in through transaction SE38 or through transaction SLIN. This indicates possible problems that may cause performance problems.
    Code Inspector (SCI)
You can call the Code Inspector from the ABAP Editor (SE38), the Function Builder (SE37), the Class Builder (SE24), or as a separate transaction (SCI).
The Code Inspector indicates possible problems. However, note that, especially with performance issues: There is no rule without exception. If a program passes an inspection, it does not necessarily mean that this program will have no performance problems.
