Oracle self service reports in R12

Hi,
We are gonna upgrade from EBS 11i to EBS R12. In 11i we have several reports which are run as self service. Would like some suggestions is there any way we can run these reports in R12, One method is I redevelop the reports using XML publisher. Is there any way I can redevelop the these reports so that they run as self service pages.
Your reply is appreciated.
Regards,
Boris

  • Query on Oracle Self Service Time & its R12 Upgrade

We have received a request from one of the prospective US based client for R12 upgrade proposal. The RFP say “Upgrade of Self-Service Time to Oracle Time and Labor (since Self-Service Time is not supported in R12) “.
Any idea on Self-Service Time, is it different module?
Has anyone done upgrade from Self-Service Time to Oracle Time? Need help to arrive at efforts required for upgrade from self-service-Time to OTL.

  • Oracle Self Service time

    Hi,
Can anyone tell me that how to have default into oracle self service time. For e.g suppose if i have not submitted time card from 6/12-6/18 then in the week of 6/19 - 6/25, I should see the timecard for 6/12-6/18 in oracle self service time not for 6/19-6/25

Unless you are on R12.1, you can't control this value. If you are on 12.1, Default Timecard Period has been added to preference Self Service Timecard Period for a Worker, where the following options are available:
Period on or after system date
Earliest Period prior to system date
Closest Period prior to system date

  • DB Connection in Oracle Self Service Modules

    Hi,
I have one question about oracle Self Service modules.
I am using Oracle Ebusiness Suite 11.5.10 on Oracle 10g database.
What database user it connects to when we login to Oracle Apps Self service modules?
Assuming that its 'APPS' db user, can I change this db user to some other user ?
We are planning to archive and purge the workflow tables to another database and want to access that
    data using db link.
So, we want to access archived data stored in other database using the db link.
Can somebody explain me how to achieve this?
    Thanks,
    DR

What database user it connects to when we login to Oracle Apps Self service modules?Apps user.
Assuming that its 'APPS' db user, can I change this db user to some other user ? You cannot change this user as it is not easy to do that, plus you would lose support (unless you have your own custom module).

  • Date Formats in Oracle Applications Forms and Oracle Self Service

Can someone tell me what determines the Date format that appears on Oracle Applications Forms and Oracle Self Service ?
*1.* In Oracle HRMS,all dates i see on the Forms are of the Format "MM/DD/YYYY" but my NLS Parameters are not in this format .I'm giving the results for the NLS parameters below.I thought the date formats are determined by the NLS format. Is there something else that determines the date format appearing on Oracle Applications Forms ?
    NLS_DATABASE_PARAMETERS
    NLS_DATE_FORMAT     :DD-MON-RR
    NLS_DATE_LANGUAGE     :AMERICAN
    NLS_LANGUAGE     :AMERICAN
    NLS_TERRITORY     :AMERICA
    NLS_INSTANCE_PARAMETERS
    NLS_DATE_FORMAT     :DD-MON-RR
    NLS_DATE_LANGUAGE     :
    NLS_LANGUAGE     :american
    NLS_TERRITORY     :america
    NLS_SESSION_PARAMETERS
    NLS_DATE_FORMAT     :DD-MON-RR
    NLS_DATE_LANGUAGE     :
    NLS_LANGUAGE     :american
    NLS_TERRITORY     :america
*2* What about the profile option : ICX_DATE_FORMAT_MASK ? Does it determine the Date Format for Self Service alone or does it impact the date format appearing on Oracle Applications Forms and the actual database also ?
*3* If I use a to_date function in ,say, a pl/sql function that i code for some custom requirements, what will be the output of the date format ? Does it take the format given in NLS paramaters or is it determined by anything else?
    Thanks in advance...

    Hi,
Thanks for your reply ,but I'm still confused ..
Here are the profile options I'm seeing for one of my instance :
ICX: Date format mask - 12/31/1999
ICX: Date language - American English
    ICX: Language - American English
    ICX: NLS Sort - BINARY
    ICX: Territory - United States
    ICX: Numeric characters - NULL
NLS parameters are given in my original email.
In Self Service applications(OAF) ,the date format is appearing in "mm/dd/yyyy" format but when i login to Forms based applications ,I see the date format as "dd-mon-yyyy".What determines this date format ?
How can i make the date format to always return one format everywhere ,be it Self Service (OAF) or Oracle Forms ?
I'm getting date format related errors for my code because of default date formats changing intermittently when i log into Self Service.I want to know if there is anyway to prevent this from happening?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Modest-Learner,
According to your description, you want to find an alternative for report model in SQL Server 2012.
In Reporting Services 2012, there are many alternatives which can support key benefits of report models.
Deploy Existing Report Model into Reporting Services 2012 Instance
SQL Server Analysis Services Multidimensional Model (Cube)
    Power Pivot for Excel
    Power Pivot for SharePoint
    Analysis Services Tabular Model

  • Oracle Portal for HR Self Service

    Hi All,
I am new to HR Self Service implementation. Can anyone tell me what is the role of Oracle Portal in Self Service HR? Is it mandatory to have Oracle Portal when we implement Self Service HR?
    Appreciate any fast reply.

    Hi,
    What is the application release?
Not sure if I understand you correctly, but I believe having Oracle Portal installed/configured is not mandatory (it is optional like configuring SSO). Please see these documents (check the referenced docs/links in these documents) for details.

  • Is it possible to track Self Service Application Usage?

We have the need to measure who is doing what in our self service applications. An example would be who has logged into Manager Self Service over the last month, save this data and then begin to do a trend analysis on that data? Also could we also drill down into the responsibilities and do some reporting at the function level. I thought that we initially we could /modify the Audit seeded reports under sysadmin i.e. Signon Audit Responsibilities. They work but it appear they only work on Form driven responsibilities. Also i have looked into the Workflow tables but dont know if this is the direction we want to be going.
So any and all information that could point in the right direction it would be greatly appreaciated

  • HOW TO Restrict Absence Type LOV Self Service in 12.1.3

    Hi All,
Will someone please inform of whar is the package to use for this new feature restriction as stated below. Thanks.
    From new feature PDF 12.1.3:
    3.26.4.6. Restrict Absence Type LOV
Prior to this release, all absence types created using Oracle HRMS are displayed to users in Self-Service HR. With this release, implementers can update ""a package"" to restrict the absence types that are displayed to users based on the business requirements. This feature ensures that employees enter only those absences for which they are eligible, and managers do not have to verify the validity of the absence type of employee requests.

    Apologies for the delay here.
The package in question is hr_absence_restricted. You replace the Package Body of this package so that the function absences_restricted returns a comma-separated array of Absence Type ids that SHOULD NOT be displayed.
    For example,
    RETURN '123, 456, 789'
Would prevent Absence Type Ids 123, 456 and 789 from appearing in the user's List of Values. This is supposed to be described in the following Oracle Article but it's not published:

  • OTL & Self Service Module on internet

    Hi,
We are using OTL and self service module in R12.1.3/11gr2. We are looking to deploy OTL and Self Service to be on Internet but other modules are not like GL etc. Employee don't need to come secure office connection and do their work or submit time sheet etc. Please point me if any ML document or presentation , how to configure OTL and Self service module on internet.

    Hi,
All you have to do is assign the profile Responsibility Trust Level to a responsibility which users want to access outside the secured area.
Make sure the value is External for this profile.
If you want to give access to only a set of functions under a responsibility, then you will have to create a new responsibility.
    Cheers,

  • Location update provision on self service page

As per new business requirement we have to provide update Location feature to Employees and Managers on Self Service pages.
    Navigation are:
VAL Employee Self-Service > Employment Details
VAL Manager Self Service > View My Team
Could you please advise what would be the best approach for providing this update feature.Does Oracle provide any option for customizing OA framework pages as we have CUSTOM.PLL for cutomizing oracle forms ?
As we are unable to find any guide/turtorials for customizing Oracle self service pages.
We are planning to add a new function for update location to the Employee/Manager Self Service responsibilities. Please suggest if we can go ahead with this or is there a better option? Please advise!

Oracle deliver a 'Change Location' self-service function out-of-the-box. Is that something you've looked at?

  • Oracle IRM service dependancy

    Hi;
I installed the oracle IRM server on the same machine that has the oracle database, and edited the registry entry for the IRM service in order to make the IRM service dependant on the database service, but it didn't work. I added the key "DependOnService" but the IRM service still need to be started manually although it is configured to start automatically. My operating system is Windows Server 2003 R2, and the database server is Oracle 10g R2. What can I do in order to make the IRM service starts automatically after the database serve has finished starting?
    Regards

Unfortunately the issue is that the Oracle DB service reports it has started way before it actually is ready to accept connections from the IRM server. In the past I created a dependency instead on a service which finishes late in the boot order. A good one was terminal services :) Include this as well as the DB dependency and you should be ok.
Another more solid approach, yet more complex, is to write a small batch file which uses SQL Plus to correctly determine if the DB is available and then initiate a "net start IRM blah blah".
I will actually look through all my old email to see if I might have another solution and if I do, keep an eye on my blog for an article on how to fix it.
