  • Index and template query

I am having a few problems i have my dreamweaver site created and i have used FTP to load my files up to my web host.....however when i go to my website i get the following in my browser  http://www.matthewroe.co.uk . i get a strange index screen also through going through my files using the index in the browser i can get to my website pages...
however the only pages that dont seem to work are the .dwt template pages i created i just get a screen of code instead of my page. this can be seen by clicking on public_html - website - site - temp_site -  home - projects - short animations - lamborghini - then click the small thumb nails on the left. (this step has to be done by going through the index on the browser.
Main qeustions i have are firstly how do i get my site to work correctly without arriving at an index page, and also how do i get my templates to display properly once clicked?
thanks very much for your time

    thanks for your reply,
i have created a site inside dreamweaver containing a local root folder etc, im just unsure about how the structure of the pages need to be loaded onto a web host, when i simulate my site inside dreamweaver it works fine,
If everything works locally, then you upload the files exactly as you have then structured in dreamweaver.  Just select all the files on the local site and 'put' them on the the remote site..so that both structures are exactly the same
So if you ever need to move a file into another folder, do it within Dreamweaver and when you upload it, 'put' it into the corresponding folder on the remote site.
Also i didnt rename my index folder i had that named index already it was just inside another file called 'home' inside the  structure of my site files, so i just uploaded straight from the 'home' folder
Ok, this was the big mistake and caused the linking errors.  If you need to move any files, move them within dreamweave via the Files panel on the right.  If you move or rename files or folders outside of dreamweaver then you end up with broken links as you have proven now by moving the index file outside of the home folder.
The only way to fix this now is to move the index file into the root of your Dreamweaver site.  You will be asked to update any links.  Say no for now because you're links are already broken.  Open index.html file in DW and then re-create all your links. Now, make sure that any html page inside other folders have the correct link to the index page  (they won't now because you moved it).
Now you have to  upload the site back to the remote host, ensuring that you upload to the root as you have now.  As long as all the other folders and files within them correspond to what you have in DW, then all your linking should work.
PS:  I would remove (delete) all your files from the remote server when you are ready to upload the newly updated site.. keeps your server clean.
example of what I may have for a site in Dreamweaver - fairly simple, but just to give you an idea.....
    Root of site:
      index.html
      aboutus.html
    CSS folder
        site.css
    Images Folder
        all imagesfor site in here
so when I upload all the above to my server, the structure is exactly the same.  The index.html page always has to be in the root of this site, both locally and remotely, so that when you type in your domain  name, the index.html page will load automatically without you having to type in www.example.com/index.html
Hope all that makes sense  :-)

I have restarted the servers and machines as well but still the same error.
    Kindly help me ?

    RCC wrote:
I agree with Hakan, sounds like your problem is getting to the proxy.
Is the SES server on the same network as PS?  Or is it really somewhere else? Is this some kind of home setup since you are running PS on Win 7?  If SES is on the same network as PS, I would drop the proxy config and test that way first.  Get it working without the extra complexity, then add in Proxy.  You can test connectivity from PS to SES with telnet or just browsing to SES.
    Thanks for the response RCC.
The PS is a Demo Instance being used for study purpose. Both the machines are on the same network.
I tried the ping after removing the entries in integrationGateway.properties files for proxy server and it worked.
Ping, Test Login and Validate are successful.
I get the following error when I check Proxy Login.
Proxy login failed : Invalid credentials for the federation entity (262,1317) (262,1318)
I have created Federation Trusted Entity key by the name HCM92 on Oracle SES side and am using the same ID and password in the Query Service Credentials on the Search Instance Properties Page.
I was not getting any error in any log file related to this.
    Kindly help.

  • New to  Webcenter Search- Oracle SES or WebCenter live search adapters.

    Hi
We are planing to implement the search functionality for Webcenter .
As per the Developer's guide WebCenter provides two ways of searching your application:
    ■ Oracle Secure Enterprise Search (SES) adapter
    ■ Oracle WebCenter live search adapters
Documents service provides its own search engine for file searches.(Is it only for file search ? What kind of Files ?)
    - Can you provide the the differences between the three searches (SES , live search , Document Service)?
    - Where can i find the refernces for implementing WebCenter live search adapters?
    - What are the search functionality that WebCenter live search adapters provide?
-What are the benifts of using Oracle SES over WebCenter live search adapters ?
    - What is that we cannot do with WebCenter live search adapters but with Oracle SES ? and the other way round.

    Hi Dani,
Eventually I found the problem, it is reported in Oracle Support as Doc ID 1503173.1.
It seems jDeveloper is a bit special when adding Directories to the MAR file. If the whole directory "/oracle" is added, the adf-config.xml introduces the following line:
    namespace metadata-store-usage="WebCenterFileMetadataStore" path="/oracle"/
As a result, this diverts all /oracle/... file and class requests to MDS, which causes failures.
So when editing the MAR deployment profile be careful to select the sub-directories under /oracle/webcenter/portalapp/ one by one.
Added to this, I had to perform the cleaning process you suggested to make it work too, otherwise I get a different error...
    Final steps are:
    1. Undeploy application.
    2. Delete MDS partition.
    3. Shutdown managed server.
    4. Delete /cache and /tmp content for the managed server.
    5. Start managed server.
    6. Exectute Clean all in jDeveloper.
    7. Create a new mar deployment as described in SR 1503173.1.
    8. Deploy to EAR file.
    9. Deploy new application to managed server using Enterprise Manager.
    And it works!
    Thanks for your help!

  • Oracle Text Index Query

    Hello
Had a query on oracle Text Index.
    1. I have created a table with column ID as sequence & column description as Varchar2(500)
    2. Inserted 3 records
    3. I created the Oracle Text index on column "description" as INDEXTYPE IS CTXSYS.CONTEXT
    4. Run a select using "contains" , get the records as required.
    5. I insert another new record & commit;
    6. Run the same old query using contains but for the new records I get 0 records
    7. Drop the Index and Recreate the index using same old index on column "description" as INDEXTYPE IS CTXSYS.CONTEXT
    8. Run the same old query using contains but for the new records and now I get the records as required.
Does that mean every time I insert new records I have to rebuild the Oracle Text Index ?
Your Help will be much appreciated
    Regards
    Harshad

You need to use some method of updating your index. You can drop and recreate or you can rebuild or you can use ctx_ddl.sync_index or you can include sync(on commit) in your parameters when you create the index or various other methods of periodic synchronization and optimization.

  • Delete All Indexed data in Oracle SES or Indexed data from a particular source (UCM,Discussion Forum)

    Hi ,
We have configured Oracle SES 11.2.2.2 with Oracle Webcenter 11.1.1.8 and UCM .
We are able to index all the data successfully.
For some test cases , i would like to delete all the indexed data / indexed data from a particular source from backend and run crawlers again .
Is there any SP exists that can do the job or any table that i can purge to achieve this?
    Thanks
    Regards,
    Sid

    Hi Sripathy,
From webcenter we had crawled everything including the user profiles which are appearing in the search results , we would like to get rid of that indexed data and would re index data with params as /rsscrawl?excludedServiceIds=oracle.webcenter.peopleconnections.profile,oracle.webcenter.community,oracle.webcenter.list
We will try your suggestion for recrawling the whole source for our first requirement .

  • Oracle Error Code and Message for Query Timeout

    Hi,
I need to catch the oracle error code and message for query timeout.
I am using Oracle 9i and could not find any relevant error code/message
for query timeout in Oracle Error Messages.
If anyone has encountered such error messages, please let me know the
    Oracle Code or Error message.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Kanjana

Fly is correct in that Oracle will normally let a query run forever in the absense of a user profile or dbms_resource setting that limits a users (query) resouce usage.
The errors returned for these condition would probably vary but errors ORA-02092 "exceeded session limit on CPU usage, you are being logged off" and ORA-02093 "exceeded call limit on CPU usage" might be of interest.
But for distributed queries Oracle does impose a time limit. See Oracle error ORA-02049 "timeout: distributed transaction waiting for lock"

  • Database search using Oracle SES

    Hi all..specially Luca,
I am a new to oracle SES.I have to search my database through oracle SES from my ASP.NET
    pages.
But before doing it from ASP.NET page , I just want to try serching from the SES tool itself.
I tried to create Database source type as :
Home > source > source type = database > create
then i got a page where i wrote the database connection string , userid , password , and a query (select * from images)
i clicked next n got another page which says step2 authorization ..
here again i need to put databse connection string ..for which i m confuse what to put ..
the entire connection string like "Data Source=atlas/orcl;User ID=yuntaa;Password=yuntaa" or "atlas/orcl" ..
i put user ID and Password, there wer few more fields like
Authorization Query,Single Record Query, Authorization User ID Format .i m not sure what to put in this fields,
and clicked next...i got an error saying ...
    Oracle Secure Enterprise Search Error
An error occurred while validating the plug-in parameters.
now i m really confuse how to create database source and how it will search to my search string...how it will know which
table to search...i mean search string may be audio, video, image or a doc ..according to the string it has execute different
query to search in different table...
Plz help me out a little to solve this issue...
    Warm regards and thanks
    Suraj

Thanks a lot for the reply Raford...n sorry as my question are too long...
In my project i need to search my database but i do not
have any URL as i am displaying data straight from the database. The data's
are audio, video or images which i have stored in database tables itself.
so in my case the URL column will be empty which is a mandatory field. The URL column contains the Display URL for the document but I do not have any document outside my database.
The way I am storing the data, is oracle SES posible ?. Most importantly do this will enhance
the performance..or provide some extra information to the user regarding search...
Actually what we are thinking is that when user will search and if the data is present in database we will display the data from the database using oracle SES
or else if the data is not there in the database we will provide some links
of other web site, something like google..
Please give some thought on it and tell me whether this is possible using oracle SES...if yes then what should i put in URL column...if posible plz give me some suggestion how should i proceed
You said If the data is in an Oracle database, it is easier to use the Table crawler. I tried
to configure that with my table but showing an error in error log :

the steps i ve taken to set the table crawler is :
selected source type as Table > provided source name , port number etc details > local table
selected primary key column > select content column > create and customise > table column mappings
Add another row(selected the contenttitle field) > apply > schedule > execute immediatlyWarm regards and Thanks

to be any valid "query" string passed to the cm:select tag (see "http://edocs.bea.com/wlcs/docs31/p13ndev/jsptags.htm#1057716"
for more info on this tag and the query param).
My problem is this: I don't think I should write ALL the stuff to validate and
    parse this string because bea has already done it in: com.beasys.commerce.foundation.expression.*;
but the only source of documentation available on those classes is the Javadoc(which
isn't that complete). Has anyone used these classes before(Search, Expression,
Criteria, Logical)? Does anyone know of some documents on how to use them?
Please help if you can. I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

rajan please just google or search SDN. there are large number of post for this..

  • Oracle 9i 10g slow spatial query

I have been using the following spatial query in oracle 9i to assign jurisdictions to spatial points.
    SELECT /*+ordered*/ L.TCH_X_COORD, L.TCH_Y_COORD, T.NAME
    FROM tis.tis_coordinates_hold_on L,
    geospatial.mdt_admin_districts T
    WHERE SDO_RELATE(T.GEOMETRY,
    MDSYS.SDO_GEOMETRY(2001,41079,MDSYS.SDO_POINT_TYPE(tch_x_coord,tch_y_coord,NULL),
    NULL,NULL),'mask=ANYINTERACT querytype=WINDOW') = 'TRUE'
    AND tch_assigned_base_rte='M00001N'
By using the ordered hint I was able to double the retrieval rate.  My problem is this: We are now migrating to oracle 10g, and the use of the ordered returns no rows (different incorrect results). If I remove the + ordered the results are correct, but I no longer get the increased speed of retrieval. Has anyone run into this problem, and can you suggest a way that I could speed up this query. As it stands now it takes more than 1/2 sec for each record retrieved, and I have millions of records !! Thanks.

We're using 10.2.4.0 I believe I have found the reason the queries were different. When I dropped the spatial index and re-created it, the query returned the same rows as 9i. However, I still have an issue with the speed. 10g appears to be about 1/3 as fast as 9i was. It doesn't seem to make any difference whether I put in the +ordered or not.  Our dba says just based on cpu and processing speed the server that has 10g should be significantly faster.  Any comments?  Thanks.

  • Use of Indexes in select query

    Hello,
This is on a 9i install.
There is an index called form_id_idx on the form_id column.
Why does this query use the index (autotrace indicates range scan on the index):
    select count(*) from table_name where form_id=123456;
but this query does NOT use the index (autotrace indicates full table scan):
    select accepted from table_name where form_id=123456;
This second query runs much faster when I use a hint on the index. Any help/suggestions?
    Thanks.

The first query does NOT have to go to the Table it all. It can read the index to count the number of rows for "form_id=123456". An Index Range Scan would be fast.
The second query has to go to the table to get the values for the "accepted" column for all the rows that have "form_id=123456". Remember that every get can require a read of 2 or more blocks -- at least one, probably 2 or 3, from the index and 1 from the table. If the number of rows is likely to be large then the number of block get operations would be high. In such cases, Oracle computes that it is faster to do a small set of multiblock reads to read the whole table (Table FullScan).
    Therefore, the optimzer weighs :
    a. how many rows it thinks will satisfy "form_id=123456"
    b. how many index + table block gets it would have to execute (all as single block read calls to the OS)
    versus
    x. how many multiblock read calls it thinks it has to execute to read the whole table
If the available statistics on number of rows, cardinality or density and the size of the table indicate that operation "x" would be cheaper then operations "a" + "b", Oracle would prefer the latter.
