Steps to follow for Installing Oracle SOA 11g in 64 bit Windows 7 machine
Hi,
I have successfully installed Oracle SOA 11g components in Windows 32 bit machine by following the downloading the installers for Windows 32 bit and following the steps mentioned in the Quick Start Guide for SOA Suite and BPM Suite.
Now I am trying to install Oracle SOA components in Windows 7 64 bit machine.Are the installation steps I followed for 32 bit is applicable for 64 bit too?Or are there any difference?
In the download section of installers,I could see one for 32 bit, linux and generic.Can you guide me which one I need to download for 64 bit machine?
Thanks in advance.I followed for 32 bit is applicable for 64 bit too?Or are there any difference?Steps followed for 32 bit installation would be same as for 64 bit. The only difference would be 64 bit JDK as it's required for win 7 to run the installation binaries of SOA Suite.
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/java-se-jdk-7-download-432154.html
I could see one for 32 bit, linux and generic.Can you guide me which one I need to download for 64 bit machine? You can use even 32 bit installer for 64 bit machine ( it works like charm for DEV like environment)...
but as per Oracle doc they prefer to use generic installer.

How to use JKS-based Keystore in Oracle SOA 11g
I am trying to do FTPS on third party remote server(with UNIX OS) using SOA 11g FTP Adapter. I have Installed and Configured vsftpd and generated vsftpd.pem certificate file on remote server.
Followed the steps mentioned in http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17904_01/integration.1111/e10231/adptr_file.htm#CIABDGCF
In one of the step "Setting Up the Oracle FTP Adapter" walletLocation is required, then I went through steps mentioned in http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17904_01/core.1111/e10105/wallets.htm#CHDGIJDC
Tried to use both 1) JKS Keystore Management 2) Wallet Management
But unable to find both of them in em of Oracle SOA 11g as the steps are not matching.
Can anyone tell me how to use JKS Keystore Management or Wallet Management ?
Many Thanks!!
Regards
YogeshHi Yogesh,
I believe the wallet can be created from the FMW console only if the HTTP server is installed and available. If there is no Oracle HTTP server, please configure one as given under.

Oracle BPM 10gR3 to Oracle SOA 11g Suite
I am not sure some body else already asked.
I have Oracle BPM product in production which is fine and happy the way it works. Its developed from Version: 10.3.1.0.0 Build: #100364. We use custom JSP, JavaComponent, PAPI etc in this.
We are thinking of migrating to Oracle SOA 11g Suite.
Is there any tool for this? If not, anything expected?
Do we need to re-write our BPM 10g app to 11g? What all parts might need to re-write?To answer to you question in a straight way I am afraid there is no direct migration path from OBPM 10g to Oracle SOA Suite 11g. You would need to we-write a lot of things like
1. As of now the BPM API's arent public. so u wont have something like PAPI as in OBPM
2. There is no support for PBL/Java in Oracle BPM 11g. However if you want to use custom Java Component u can leverage BPEL or Spring along with BPM. Every component is afterall packed inside a single composite.
3. It is advisable to have all dashboards and UI's developed with ADF if you are with Oracle SOA Suite 11g but even if you have JSPs that shouldnt be a problem.
This topic was discussed some days back in this forum. You can find the thread here

Oracle SOA Suite Installation with traditional Oracle Infrastructure
Dear All.
Good day, I have a question related to the Oracle SOA Suite, I need to know if I can use Oracle Application Server 10g Release 2 ( the traditional version) which contains the Oracle Infrastructure & Oracle Middle tier on the same product, Business Intelligence & Forms version, to work with Oracle SOA Suite 10.1.3 Release 3, to give the authinticatio & authoraization using Oracle Internet Directory not using the Java SSO.
Is this has any effect of development the BPEL Processes or the web services? such as using specific Java containers??
can I use this OAS 10g Realease 2 to deploy the web applications (J2EE) and integrate them with BPEL processes deployed on the Oracle SOA Suite Installation??
I really need help, thank you in-advance
Adham HattabHello.
When you install SOA Suite you get typically a "home" and "oc4j_soa" container. You can deploy apps into the "home" container if you wish. Technically you could also deploy into oc4j_soa, but I strongly suggest leaving it alone!
You can also do a 2nd Oracle install in a new Oracle Home to just have a J2EE server, in order to deploy web apps. Or, you can use WebSphere, Sun, or WebLogic, too. You can add a new OC4J container to your Oracle app server home. That is what we do typically - that way large apps can have their own JVM and memory, you can restart an OC4J container to "reboot" a problem app without impacting apps in other OC4J containers, etc.
You can configure OAS to use OID or any 3rd-party LDAP for authentication/authorization, including Active Directory. At our site we use OID Directory Integration and Provisioning (DIP) to import AD users/groups into OID. This way corporate users/groups/logins are all available to OID, making SSO that much more powerful, with no need to create new accounts just for OAS.
The install docs and/or MetaLink (My Oracle Support now) should have details on what versions of OAS work with OID. As I mentioned, we have Business Intel. & Forms (10.1.2) and SOA Suite (10.1.3.3) both using OID 10.1.4.0.1 (which itself is on top of OAS 10.1.2.2).

Folks,
Hello. Initially, my Windows XP host name is "localhost" and IP address 127.0.0.1.
I installed Oracle Database 11g with Windows XP successfully and all Database clients work with Database instance correctly.
For some reasons, I uninstalled the entire Database Server and delete the entire installation directory /oracle.
I configured Windows XP IP address into 192.168.196.101 in order to ping other machines.
For my need, I installed Oracle Database 11g with Windows XP again. On step 7 of 8: Oracle Database Configuration Assistant, I got this error:
ORA-12560:TNS: protocol adapter error.
I click "Password Management" button, there are no rows in this Windows (no username, no lock accounts).
I check listener as below:
C:\>lsnrctl
LSNRCTL>start
Its output: listener name LISTENER has already been started.
LSNRCTL>status
Its output: ......Service DB1 has 1 instance. Instance DB1 status ready. The command completed successfully.
I check \Oracle\cfgtoollogs\dbca\DB1\trace file, the entry is :
listen[0]=LISTENER address=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=localhost)(port=1522))
I also check \oracle\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1\NETWORK\ADMIN\SAMPLE\tnsnames.ora file and listener.ora file, the entries are the same as below
HOST=localhost port=1522
I think HOST=localhost and port=1522 is the cause of the error ORA-12560 because Windows XP has been configured into HOST=192.168.196.101.
But I don't understand how to solve this issue.
Can any folk tell me how to solve this issue ? need to cancel the installation on step 7 of 8 and install it again ?
Thanks.Folks,
Hello. Oracle Database 11g Installation Wizard is on step 7 of 8. I don't cancel the Wizard. I am not sure whether there is effect or not. listener.ora is not removed. I have been waiting for a while after stop listener. I run the 3 commands again and copy the result as below:

Task.getProcessInfo().getProcessName Returns null -Oracle SOA 11g Worklist
Hi,
Im working on building custom worklist application using oracle SOA 11g Java API .I 'm able to query a list of tasks from the BPM server. But, When I try to find process name by invoking task.getProcessInfo().getProcessName() it returns null even I specify PROCESSNAME in my column list.Do i have to specify anywhere else except query columns ? What could be the reason?
Thanks,
GovindhIf BPEL don't timed out, you can have Human task in Synchronous BPEL process.
For this, you can have your synchronous reply before any Human task call back receive activities (this causes the timeout) or you can just create human task and no other call back receive activities.
Thanks

Oracle EBS Inbound/Outbound Interface build using Oracle SOA 11g
Hi SOA Guru's,
I am very much new to SOA 11g, could you guy's help me in understanding "How I can build any Oracle EBS Inbound/Outbound interface using Oracle SOA 11g"
It will be great if anybody explain me with any example script/screen shot/document.
Thanks in advance.
Regards
PankajI don't have any experience with ebs, but i assume it works like this.
In the composite editor you will find a list adapters at the right..over here you will also find the oracle applications (ebs) adapter.
This will be the component for you which will communicate with the ebs packages.
you need to drag this adapter on the swim lane, and after that you should create the composite application like the way it's described in the tutorials Oracle supplies, put a mediator component in the middle and expose this interface (drag the line to the left swim line)
Hope it's a bit clear like this ?

this should make a few things clear too -
Oracle 11g installation Kernel version error
Hi
We are inprocess of installing oracle 11g on solaris 5.10. Our current Solaris 10 is with kernel version (5.10-2008.03.24.13.19). . It requires kernel version (5.10-2008.10). What patch need to be installed for us to achieve this. Please advice.
The following are the operating system requirements for Oracle Database 11g Release 2 (11.2):
* Solaris 10 U6 (5.10-2008.10)
When I check with my OS team they says the currently have kernel patch ID 142909-17, which already Solaris 10 U9.Thus this Domain already fulfill the requirementYou could post to the Installation forum : Database Installation
But you should also log an SR with Oracle Support.

Oracle SOA 11g TP3 - Tutorial problem
Hello!
I am quite new to this whole platform, and while I was following the First step of the tutorial, I ran into a problem, which I have no idea how to solve.
(this tutorial: http://download.oracle.com/otndocs/products/soa/105-end2end-PO-Processing.zip )
As it said I installed the prerequisites,
an Oracle database,
Oracle Database 10g Express Edition Release 10.2.0.1.0 - Product
PL/SQL Release 10.2.0.1.0 - Production
CORE 10.2.0.1.0 Production
TNS for 32-bit Windows: Version 10.2.0.1.0 - Production
NLSRTL Version 10.2.0.1.0 - Production
the Oracle SOA Suite 11g TP3,
as well as jDeveloper 11.1.1.0.0
After I successfully created and successfully deployed the 'CreditCardValidation Application' following the steps in 105-end2end-PO-Processing_2.pdf (part of the zip, but it's basically a database adapter a mediator and an exposed web service packed together) and I tried to test it, i got this error:
<env:Envelope
xmlns:env="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
<env:Header/>
<env:Body>
<env:Fault>
<faultcode
xmlns="">env:Server</faultcode>
<faultstring
xmlns="">null: Exception occured when binding was invoked. Exception occured during invocation of JCA binding: "JCA Binding execute of Reference operation 'OracleXESelect' failed due to: Could not create/access the TopLink Session. This session is used to connect to the datastore. <faultactor
xmlns=""/>
<detail
xmlns="">
<exception/>
</detail>
</env:Fault>
</env:Body>
</env:Envelope>
If I understand it correctly, the core of the problem is this:
java.sql.SQLException: No suitable driver Error Code: 0.
now if this is the problem, how to solve it?
Ideally I would start by looking at the configurations of Toplink, but I didn't install Toplink, as such I have no idea where these options are.. (Is it part of the database in this current configuration?)
Thanks in advance!
MikeActually, the tutorial works fine in this version, all the way through. Specifically, the database adapter is working.
The problem you are having has been discussed on this forum. You should do this:
sqlplus sys/system@XE as sysdba
SQL> show parameter session
SQL> show parameter processes
SQL> alter system set sessions=100 scope=spfile;
SQL> alter system set processes=150 scope=spfile;
SQL> shutdown immediate
SQL> startup
SQL> show parameter session
And restart your server. That should fix it. Some people have also restarted Windows.

This error is related to the wrong version of JDK u r using & the sequence u apply to install the Forms, Reports and Discoverer 11.1.1.2.0
java version "1.7.0_03" is not supported always it's not smart to always used the latest version of a software each has a compatable version related to each other.
pls uninstalled java version "1.7.0_03" (reason : for the wrong version used) & Oracle WebLogic Server 10.3.2(reason : for the wrong sequence used in installation)
Then installed the following jdk (a support version!)as a first step:
