Oracle Solaris 11 template won't start up properly
I downloaded the current Solaris 11-1111 template from edelivery and cloned it to a virtual machine. After removing the vncpasswd, since even when entering the correct password, the VNC console wouldn't let me in, I noticed that Solaris boots up until the screen resolution changes, but then stalls until the VM finally gets yanked or dies otherwiese.
Anybody, having Solaris 11 running properly on OVM 3.1.1?
Oracle has a newer Solaris text install iso, available via this Patch ID: 13478149
Unfortunately , it's not on OTN yet, so access is limited to customers with valid Solaris CSIs. I tried it out and it worked flawlessly on my OVM 3.1.1 server(s).

Oracle Home Agent service won't start
OracleOraHome90Agent service won't start on Win XP Home Edition. Was working fine. Installed Sun Webserver 6.1 and started facing problems. So uninstalled webserver and even then the Oracle Home Agent service starts and stop immediately. the oracle database service and the listener starts without any issues. Any help appreciated.
XP Home Edition is not certified for Oracle9i Database but according to the information given by you, that service was functioning well. Perhaps the new software that you installed is consuming a lot of resources regarding the virtual memory of the machine and maybe for that the services is not starting.
I recommend you to increase the virtual memory of your machine and try again.

My MacBook won't start properly. It seems to run, but the screen won't light. I suspect the cause is a power surge due to faulty wiring in my apartment. Is this the kind of thing that can typically be repaired, and if so, at what price?
you need to bring it somewhere so it can be determined exactly what is wrong with it and then an estimate can be provided.

Pasted excessively large folder, won't start up properly
Here is the deal.
I was in GarageBand and I accidentally dragged the iTunes icon from the media pane to the desktop. It kept saying "Preparing to copy 4464 items" and after an hour of freezing it eventually went to sleep. I rebooted my iMac and now it won't start up. It shows the dock some desktop icons, the menu bar and I can only move the mouse. Any ideas on how to maybe restore the system on a previous state or cancel the action which I guess tries again when finder opens at login?Click here and follow the instructions.

Mac Mini won't start up properly
I have the latest generation Mac Mini (actually it's my son's) and it worked fine for some months (2 months to be precise). He doesn't use it very often, maybe once a week or so. And then suddenly the Mac Mini doesn't want to start up properly. It starts (takes a lot of time) and then on the main screen the mouse will not function whatever I do; no reaction. Same thing for the keyboard. Tried both USB devices on my MacBook Pro and they functioned fine. I then started up in target mode and installed the new 10.6.7 combo update from my MacBook Pro on the Mini but still it will not start up. What could I do to solve this?

Oracle E-Business Suite Won't start after reboot.
Hi,
I have installed Oracle E-Business Suite Version 12.1.1.9 with Oracle Database 1.1.0.7.0 on OEL 5 Update 5. Everything works perfectly after the installation, I am able to log in to the database and log in to the website at http://<hostname>.<domainname>:80nn.
So here is my problem, after I reboot the server and try to log back into the website I get this screen.
500 Internal Server Error
Servlet error: An exception occurred. The current application deployment descriptors do not allow for including it in this response. Please consult the application log for details.
I know many other people have gotten this issue and I've been trying to debug it for a while but no luck.
Hussein mentions to run the autoconfig on both application and database tier but when I do that it completes with errors.
I even tried running the autoconfig on a newly installed Oracle EBS without rebooting it and the autoconfig still completes with errors.
Also, I looked into the apache log files, I checked the error_log and it says file not found: favicon.ico. So, I added that file but the error_log just doesnt show anymore errors but the website still does not work.
Can I get some more ways of solving this issue? Any help would be awesome.
Thanks in advance guys.

Oracle 10g Database Setup Won't Start on Win XP Pro
I am new to Oracle and have just downloaded the 10g database from the Oracle website and am trying to install it on my Windows XP Professional Machine. When I double click "setup.exe" the hourglass timer appears very briefly but then nothing happens. Does anyone know why this would be? Thanks.
Try using the setup.exe in the install folder instead. If that doesn't work, verify that your download was ok (you should be able to verify the size of the downloaded file with that on the download page of OTN) and also verify that your hardware meets the minimum requirements for installation (see documentation in your doc folder).

I got my Macbook to start up before, but it keep freezing (as in the only thing I could do was move the mouse. The clock would stop, even). I tried shutting it down, but eventually had to resort to holding down the power button until it shut down. Now, when I power it up, it won't get any further than the Apple logo and the little "thinking" circle. I've tried all the shortcuts (holding X down to force it, resetting the nvram, etc), but it still won't power up. Any suggestions?
Oh and the nearest apple store is over an hour away, so that's a last resort. If I can fix it myself, that'd be wonderful.
ADDITIONAL INFO: My Macbook Pro is about 3 years old. I upgraded to Leopard last year, and I haven't had any major problems with it so far. I believe I have 10.5.4, but as I can't get on it, I'm not 100% positive on that one.HI and Welcome to Apple Discussions...
Try booting in Safe Mode.
Starting up in “safe mode” may help you to diagnose problems you’re having with your computer.
To start up in safe mode:
Shut down your computer and wait 10 seconds.
Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold down the Shift key.
You should press the Shift key as soon as possible after your hear the startup tone, but not before.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple logo and progress indicator (spinning gear).
To leave safe mode, restart the computer normally without holding down any keys during startup.
What is Safe Mode
Boot from your install disk and use Disk Utility. xInsert Installer disk and Restart, holding down the "C" key until grey Apple appears.
Go to Installer menu (Panther and earlier) or Utilities menu (Tiger and later) and launch Disk Utility.
Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in the left panel.
Select First Aid in the Main panel.
(Check S.M.A.R.T Status of HDD at the bottom of right panel. It should say: Verified)
Click Repair Disk on the bottom right.
If DU reports disk does not need repairs quit DU and restart.
If DU reports errors Repair again and again until DU reports disk is repaired.
If Disk Utility cannot repair the disk, then you will need a disk utility like DiskWarrior or TechToolPro

Help! imac won't start up properly
I recently purchased a new macbook and yesterday I transfered all my data from my old imac g5 to my new macbook using the migration manager program. I have been using my macbook sucesfully ever since, but now whenever i try to turn on the g5 I get an error message along with a power symbol that says "you need to restart your computer. Hold down the power button for several seconds or press the restart button" I'm very concerned and really can't loose data from this old computer. I've tried restarting the computer many times, and unplugging it as well as unplugging all the attached cords. Nothing works. Please help.
I'm worried that if i restart it using the startup disk i will loose information and i really can't have this happen.
Thanks so much for your help!

Is this what you are seeing?
If so, you are having what is known as a kernel panic - What is a kernel panic? (Mac OS X)

You won't lose any info from starting from your System Install DVD. However, most people here recommend that you always have a backup. -
I purchased a Lenovo B575 about 2 months ago. Just in the last week, 5x I have had issues with start up of my system.
It started last Wednesday, I turned on my computer, the black Windows start up screen came up with the Windows logo, then changed to the turquoise blue screen that says Welcome and has the little spinning circle, which usually quickly changes to the screen that needs my user password or fingerprint swipe. Then it stalls. The spinning circle stops spinning and nothing happens. I have left it for up to 10 minutes and it does not load. I powered it off and I get the screen saying Windows didn't shut down properly giving me the options to start in Safe Modes or normally. Tried normally, same thing happens. The only way I got it to work was to start it in safe mode and then do a system restore back to the day before. It would then power down and start up and work. As soon as I shut down, two days later, I try to turn it on again, same issue. I try to restart it, no worky! I system restore, back to the same day it shuts down and restarts but I get an error mesage saying the system restore didn't compete, but the systems starts up normally and I have no issues. I have had to do this 3x again since, every time I turn on the lap top. I am not sure what the problem is and why or how to fix it permanently. It's not a pricey computer, it was on $450 but I shouldn't need to system restore everyday to start it up! Any advice or troubleshooting tips or explanation would be appreciated. Of course, I didn't buy any extended warranty with Future Shop where I bought it (or I would have just taken it back) because of the price, it wasn't worth the money they wanted, but it is still under manufacturer's warranty as it is only 2 months since I purchased it. I know I can wipe it out and do a complete reinstall, but I don't want to go that route if I don't have to......plus, what's to say the same thing won't happen again in another couple months. Would prefer to know the cause of the problem to find a long term solution as opposed to a short term bandaid!
I appreciate any advice or help to troubleshoot it further.
ThanksHi

Recently, one of my school's iMac's broke down and the IT guy was brought in to fix it. It ran smoothly for a bit but then started freezing, then not even being able to reach the login screen. It will take up to sometimes exesses of an hour to finish the white screen with the apple on it bit. Then it will go blue, and won't load anything after that.
Just wondering if there is anything I can do to solve this.
Thanks,
RossMy iMac is doing the same thing, started the day I downloaded the first update for leopard. No one can figure out what's going on except I have no hardware problems it just can no longer find os to boot up on. Leopard has killed my computer and many others and it seems because some people have complained wrongly apple is not going to step up and repair the damage done by there software. And ore intel macs like my g4 iMac really get crashed at least the new macs stay up enough to uninstall leopard.
