Oracle Standby DB with SAP - BRARCHIVE and BRBACKUP

Hi experts,
I was requested to configure and standby Oracle scenario for with SAP. After reviewing many different documentation regarding this, I would like to confirm the following with youu2026How do the BRARCHIVE and BRBACKUP tools should be integrated in this standby/data guard configuration? Actually data guard configuration has been already completed and redo logs are being shipping and applying successfully from primary db to the standby db. Please note that no settings for BRACRHIVE or BRBACKUP have been done so far.
From doc. u201COracle White Paperu2014Setting up Oracle 11g Data Guard for SAP customersu201D, it says that u201CThere is no change to BRARCHIVE configuration necessary. It can work like with any other standolane databaseu201D. What changes or considerations would be required on the current data guard configuration to implement these BRTOOLS? For exampleu2026If I start using BRARCHIVE to copy the offline redo log files from the production database to the standby database, its necessary to disable anything from the current configuration?

If the use of BRARCHIVE is not required or at least is not mandatory to configure an standby db for SAP environments...I've started thinking If I've followed the right process to complete this?
As mentioned if my post the following documentation was used "Oracle White Paperu2014Setting up Oracle 11g Data Guard for SAP customers". Did I follwed the right process or is there any different set of steps to configure Oracle standby DB for SAP using BRARCHIVE and BRBACKUP?
As you can see I'm confused about the Standby DB configuration process for SAP environments.
Any clarification you can provide me regarding this would be highly appreciated.

Help with Apache Reverse Proxy configuration with SAP Portal and SAP Webgui

Dear Experts,
I have an issue configuring Apache to work with SAP Portal and ERP webgui. Accessing Portal through Reverse Proxy is working fine. But the problem arises when we try to open an iView ERP webgui transaction page from Portal with the Reverse Proxy. when i run a brarchive or a brbackup job i get the following errors as below:

Oracle versions compatible with SAP

The current Oracle "Critical Update Patch" released Jan 2008 will be the last one released for Oracle version 10.2.0.2 on platforms where 10.2.0.3 is available. I was told that SAP is not compatible with 10.2.0.3.
Can we upgrade to 10.2.0.3 on our SAP databases?

are there any plans to release RAC One with SAP?
Will it be included in the general Oracle RAC 11.2 release for SAP?

I am especially interested in the licence policy of RAC One.
Will it be part of standard or extended licence ???
Generally RAC One is an Oracle Option that just limits the RAC with 2 nodes.
If SAP makes certification for "RAC" generally and not for "RAC One" this would be
no technical reason.
If somebody authorized can answer my question this would be great.

What is the delivered content provided by Oracle BI Apps to map with SAP data sources?

As things stand right now SAP R3 is only supported on a much older release of BI Apps (7.8.4). That release used the Informatica SAP PowerConnect technology to populate the Warehouse.
I posted before on this forum the list of supported SAP Modules.
BI Apps cannot use SAP BW. BW can be a direct data source for BI EE however.
In the near future our support for SAP will be up to date and back on track. There are internal efforts underway that I cannot discuss here in the forum.

Calling Oracle Stored proc with record type and table Type

I have a oracle SP which takes record type and table Type which are used for order management.
Is there anay way to populate parameters with these datatypes and call the stored procedure using ODP.NET?

ODP supports associative arrays and REF Cursors. There is no support for PLSQL table of records.

Chartered Accountancy with SAP FI-CO itself is a lethal combination. Looks like you love Japan or there is someone there whom you love. There are quite some companies in Japan that have implemented SAP (you can get into support, upgrade, enhance kinda roles) and there are also new implementations in the pipeline. As far as training goes, go to any SAP Education Partners (Siemens, etc.). Give your full time to demos and practice sessions on SAP when in training - reading books only will not help.

Autorization issue with SAP Query and RPTQTA10

Dear all,
I am having some difficulties with autorisations in SAP Query and Report RPTQTA10.
in IT2006 I have a subtype 03 which should not be accessible for a group of users.
Also I have created a test employee with a sybtype of IT2006 which is allowd and one which is not allowed.
When I run some reports with that user I get a nice result with PT50. Only the allowed subtypes are being displayed.
When I try to run A SAP Query or report PRTQTA10, the employee is not visible and seems to end op in an error list.
Can someone shed some light on this issue?

Hi,
you need to create OData service which will retrieve (search) the required information and then need to create UI5 application to consume it.
you can refer this blog How to Implement Value Help (F4) with SAP UI5 which covers both parts.

In GRC 10 there is no concept of web services . GRC 10 uses native SQL query for calling risk analysis which mean no need to configure web service in GRC 10
