Hello,
Oracle Terminal allows you to customize keys. Find out
Oracle Terminal Item in menu ..
Start -> Programs -> Oracle Forms and Reports 6i -> Oracle
Terminal
select Oracle Terminal
Now Open \Orawin95\Forms60\Fmrusw.res file and
Click on Icon 'K' or select Functions -> Edit Keys from Menu.
Select Option E.g. Runform, Double Click it.
From PopUp Window Press Insert Row button then you can use macro
mode to Create Button.
E.g. Let's Assign Next Block to Control+Down.
1. Insert Row
2. Type Next Block in action.
3. Click on Macro Mode
4. Enter any key. e.g. t
5. Press Control + Down Arrow
6. Again press 't' to end function.
7. Save File
8. you done it.

  • Oracle*Terminal configuration problem for Web deployment

    Hello everyone!
I am a novice in using Oracle Forms 6i. I installed a Forms 6i Developer and Server at Windows 2000, the same machine where 8.1.6 Server is running (of cource I installed DB server and Developer in different Oracle_Home's).
Everything seems to be going well while trying "Client-Server" model. But I can not suceed in deploying forms to the Web. For example when I try "Run a form on the Web" standard option, after I try to run a standard test form (test.fmx), I get another Browser (IE5) window opened, then an applet loads and after that I get a Java-form inside of IE5 window with red bell picture and an error message: "Error while opening Oracle*Terminal file fmrweb."
Can anyone help me with an advise what to do in such situation?
    Thank you in advance
    Alexander Ilin

I can't answer the specific problem about the test, but the resource file is set up as follows:
The html file that invokes the Forms applet has a server argument showing where the terminal key-mapping file is stored on your forms server. In your case it appears to be looking for fmrweb.res and can't find it.
Take a look at the html and find the path it is using to look for it (I think you'll find this in the ServerArgs parameter). Then make sure the file is there on your Windows 2000 server.
If it isn't there, do a search for it in the server's Oracle_home directory, and then copy it to the directory where it is expecting it. Along with fmrweb.res, you can also use fmrpcweb.res - just replace fmrweb.res in your html file.
    Hope that helps.

  • Oracle Terminal, how can i simulate this setting into all client places

    Hi friends,
i did setting at ORacle Terminal for ESC button to exit_form. it is ok working fine. i have his application installed into several client places, so, in all this places do i ahve to install Oracle terminal and change the key mappings or is any common registry setting i can add into the registry key, by copying FMRUSW.res file into my application folder,
i do have all my icons in my aplication folder and i add a registry key UI_ICON = 'myfloder', is there any possibility like this.
    Thanks in advance

That is one of the big problems with client/server forms. You have to install your FMRUSW.res on every machine running your application, or at least on a file server where the runforms software gets the fmx files.
Changing the resource file is not something you want to do on a regular basis.

  • Oracle terminal

    Hi,
In D2K, F7 Function key is performing particular task of setting the current form in enter_query mode. I want to overide this function, how can I do that?
I read on net that using oracle Terminal we can do this but where to Oracle Terminal.
    Thanks in Advance
    Praveen Kr. Arora

    Oracle Terminal is to deep.
You can change this in your forms. Create a trigger KEY-ENTQRY. All F7 's are going through this trigger and can be handled. Create it on form-level, so each trigger in each block is redirected in this trigger through your new functionality.
    try it

  • Oracle Terminal problem

I have a problem running Oracle Terminal in command-line mode on Linux. I am very familiar with Oracle Terminal on Windows, but not with Linux. Unfortunately, I need to support Oracle Forms6i on Linux in character mode for the hand-held, wireless, bar-code scanners we use in our warehouse. They have a very limited keypad and we want to change a couple of the default key mappings for Oracle Forms6i on Linux.
I opened a TAR on this issue (3595315.999) a couple weeks ago, but so far it has not been resolved.
Does anyone know where to find documentation for running Oracle Terminal for Forms6i on Linux in character mode?
Or, does anyone know if the conversion utilities exist for Windows to convert the Oracle Terminal resource files from binary to text and vice versa. I have these utilities for Linux, but not for Windows. If I could get those for Windows, I could transfer the Linux resource file to Windows, edit it there and transfer it back.

It's look like a joke. When I change NLS_LANG from POLISH_POLAND to AMERICA_AMERICAN in Developer Home everything start fine with English menu but... work heeehhhh........
    Thx For Right Direction :)))

  • Error Opening Oracle Terminal File fmrweb.

I installed 9IAS portal and the forms/reports server. The portal works fine, but when I try the 'Run Form Web ( runform.htm)' I get an error "Error opening Oracle*Terminal file fmrweb." The file does exist in my c:\oracle\806\forms60 directory and my FORMS60_PATH is set to c:\oracle\806\forms60 as well. Anybody having ( had ) similar problems? Note: 8.1.7, portal, and formsserver installed on the same Win 2000 machine. No Oracle apps. Thanks in advance.

    Hi Christian,
It's probably working because you're now using fmrweb.res instead of the foobar fmrwebdk.res. Just look out for that missing quotation mark :)

  • Installing Oracle Terminal on a NT 4.0 station

We need to install oracle terminal, in order to map the page up and page down keys. The product isn't available on the install list. Has anyone else install oracle terminal in a windows environment or is there another way to map the up/down keys?

I did this but when I run the ot60.exe it says "ot: cannot find the application startup file.". Could you please tell me how to install this Oracle Terminal properly? Thanks.

You may still need terminal if you are talking about Client Server key mappings.
In certain versions of the Developer CD Terminal was not available on the product list when you did a custom install.
To work around this simply copy the files manually from the CD:
    OT60.EXE to your \bin directory

  • Problem changing default key bindings using Oracle Terminal

    Hello,
I'm facing a problem changing default key bindings using Oracle Terminal. I changed
some bindings, saved them in forms60/fmrusw.res, started the generation and saved again.
I thought that's it but it wasn't. It took no effect at all in Forms (even after recompilation) although reopening the file in Terminal showed the changes. I'm using Forms in German, which means that even the key bindings displayed in Forms are translated i.e. STRG+F1 instead if CTRL+F1,
but I can't find a german version of this resource file, so i think it's the same resource file for all supported languages. But what is needed for the changes to take effect ?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
is it client/server you are working?
if so you should not be using the fmrusw.res file because I guess your NLS_LANG is German_Germany.WE8ISO8859P1 or something like that. This means the terminal that is being opened is fmrdw.res instead of fmrusw.res and this file should be edited using Oracle Terminal.
if you are working via the web implementation than you can open the file fmrweb.res in a text editor and change the keybindings in there. If you need to have the PC like key bindings on the web just open the fmrpcweb.res and see if it contains the German texts. If so you can either copy this file over the frmweb.res file or you can specify term=fmrpcweb.res in the serverargs parameter.
    Hope this helps.

  • Windows code for Ctrl+Q in Oracle Terminal

    Hello!
We use Forms6i and Windows 95 OS and
in our forms people usually use CapsLock
to type info in upper case and some times
they can't use Exit button (Ctrl+q) because of this. That is why we would like to create
another one Key Binding Definition in Oracle Terminal with Action "Exit" and Binding
"Contol+Q". Did anybody try to define repeated Actions? Is it possible? And,
actually, the main quesion is - where can we
find windows codes for different combinations of keys?
Any help will be greatly appreciated!
    Thank you in advance,
    Andrew.

    Andrew,
You don't need any window codes to do this.
    Just do the following:
    a) run Oracle Terminal (you'll have to do a Custom Install if you don't have it installed.
    b) open %ORACLE_HOME%\forms60\fmrusw.res
    c) Choose Functions->Edit Keys.
    d) Doubleclick the "Runform" circle.
    e) Click in the "Exit" line.
    f) Click the "Duplicate Row" button.
    g) Change Control+q to Control+Q.
    h) Ok, OK, Functions->Generate.
    i) File->Save, File->Exit.
And if you were running Forms6i on the Web, it would be much simpler (the res file for Web is an ascii file).
    Hope this helps,
    Pedro

  • Oracle terminal mapping

    hi....

In client server you use Oracle Terminal - do a google search and there are loads of hits and examples.
For web deployed its even easier - the frmweb.res file is a text file which does the key mapping.
