Oracle Time and Labor time entry

Hi,
In Oracle Time and Labor on-line time entry (Timecard) screen I need to record end user's system's time as time-in and time-out i.e. user should not be able to modify the timing details.
Can OTL possibly meet above requirement. An urgent response will be highly appreciated.
Thanks
Bilal

Hi Bilal,
I tried it earlier, but was not successful.
Only thing you can do is something mentioned in the forums below -
Start/End times in Custom Formula - OTL
Auto populate system time for start/end times in OTL Time card
cheers,

  • Oracle Time and Labor - Change and Late Audit

    Dear All,
    We are using Payroll Layout and Single Day period.
    Timecard has only Hour Type (Regular Time, Overtime & So on.) and In / Out.
    We have Swipe Machines. Employee Swipes In & Out. Every night these entries are deposited in OTL with Submitted mode.
    Next day Employee is allowed to modify these entries in accordance with Time Policies.
    For e.g. Timecard shows 08:30 to 19:30 as Regular Hour. Employee can modify 08:30 to 17:00 as Regular Time and 18:00 to 19:30 as Overtime Hour Type.
    Now the problem is Approver would like to know exact change, as what was the Original Entry and What is the modified entry.
    Is there any way to achieve this?
    Can Change and Late Audit work on Payroll Layout?
    I am unable to find Payroll Change & Late Audit Layout. Only Project Change and Late Audit Layouts are available and we are not using Project.

    Hi 864434,
    An easier way would have been to use Earning policies.
    You can define rules which would automatically split the earning types to Overtime etc..
    This is a very simple setup too.
    Some examples here -
    Oracle Time and Labor (OTL) OTLR California Overtime Policy Setup and Examples [ID 1451080.1]
    This way, the layout would show what the employee has actually worked and how the rules are applied to split it, all on one page.
    But if you don't want to go that route..
    Can you not use the data from the swipe machines ?
    I guess you would load the data into an temporary table.
    So you can write a discoverer report which would show the actual times for each employee.
    On the layouts, there are only some predefined ones.
    Others, you will have to create on your own(may be by customising a seeded one)
    Hope that helps,
    Cheers,
    Vignesh

    Hi
    We are not implementing any kind of flex Time.
    Are you aware of how to setup OTL to record time worked in Days, and how that can be transported to Oracle Project.
    The module is configured to setup in Hours.
    Any ideas?
    Could you highlight any documents that will simplify the process of a basic OTL setup
    Oracle HR and Project is going to be implemented

  • Oracle Time and Labor in OBIA

    Hi All,
    Can anyone confirm Oracle Time and Labor (OTL) dashboards (or data) is available in OBIA? I'm just wondering whether HR analytics contains those data.
    Thanks for the help.
    Nilaksha.

    T&L is not available as of yet in OBIA. I believe the only HRMS modules includes with OBIA (as of 7962) are:
    Oracle Human Resources
    Oracle Payroll
    Oracle Learning
    Management
    Oracle iRecruitment

  • Oracle Time and Labor Patch 4773293 - HXT.I CUMULATIVE BACKPORTS 5

    Oracle Time and Labor Patch 4773293 - HXT.I CUMULATIVE BACKPORTS 5 has been released to MetaLink for download.
    This patch contains a number of important fixes. oracle Development recommends customers on HXT I level to apply this patch.
    Patch details, prerequisites and installation instruction are contained in the 4773293 Readme.
    Regards,
    Greg

    Greg,
    Thanks for this update.
    You state that this is the final roll up patch on HXT-I.
    Isn't Oracle policy to provide backported patches on the last two minipacks? Wouldn't that currently be HXT-I and HXT-J?

  • Customizing Oracle Time & Labor pages

    Hi All,
    I have got a client requirement for customizing the oracle time & labor standard pages. Has anyone worked on such requirement?
    For many of the pages in this responsibility (e.g. Time Entry Layout), I need to add columns like Project Name & Task Name. Currently only the Project Id & Task Id are displayed.
    I downloaded the pages from the server & studied them. The page is dynamically created through the CO. There are also entries in table hxc_layout_components_v for the header captions which are currently appearing on the screen.
    I need to know what approach should I follow to design the page. Can anybody help?
    Regards

    user622474,
    OTL timecard page is dynamically rendered based on ldt files and hence you don't see anything in the xml. Explaining ldt changes is not possible here. You can pickup the initial details on http://shiv-saroj.blogspot.com/

  • Show Project and Task name in Time entry

    Hi,
    Is there any possibilty to change the layout of the Time entry so I can view the Project and Task name?
    Via OA Framework, Timecard styles etc....
    /Daniel

    Folks,
    I have displayed project name on TIMECARD using below mentioned code
    # Project Name on the timecard matrix
    BEGIN HXC_LAYOUT_COMPONENTS "Projects Alternate Timecard Layout 100 - Project Name"
    OWNER = "ORACLE"
    COMPONENT_VALUE = "PROJECTNAME"
    REGION_CODE = "HXC_CUI_TIMECARD"
    REGION_CODE_APP_SHORT_NAME = "HXC"
    ATTRIBUTE_CODE = "HXC_CUI_PROJECT_NAME"
    ATTRIBUTE_CODE_APP_SHORT_NAME = "HXC"
    SEQUENCE = "201"
    COMPONENT_DEFINITION = "TEXT_FIELD"
    RENDER_TYPE = "WEB"
    PARENT_COMPONENT = "Projects Alternate Timecard Layout - Day Scope Building blocks for worker timecard matrix"
    BEGIN HXC_LAYOUT_COMP_QUALIFIERS "Projects Timecard Layout - Project Name"
    OWNER = "ORACLE"
    QUALIFIER_ATTRIBUTE_CATEGORY = "TEXT_FIELD"
    QUALIFIER_ATTRIBUTE1 = "N"
    QUALIFIER_ATTRIBUTE2 = "NODISPLAYCACHE"
    QUALIFIER_ATTRIBUTE3 = "7"
    QUALIFIER_ATTRIBUTE4 = "1"
    #QUALIFIER_ATTRIBUTE6 = "OraBGGrayLight {light gray color as background}
    #color:#cccccc;"
    QUALIFIER_ATTRIBUTE6 = "OraFieldTextDisabled {Renders gray text in disabled form controls such as text fields, radio buttons, check boxes - does not match current BLAF guidelines}
    font-family:Arial, Helvetica, Geneva, sans-serif;
    color:#999999;
    font-size:10pt;"
    #QUALIFIER_ATTRIBUTE18 = "INCLUDE"
    #QUALIFIER_ATTRIBUTE19 = "|READ-ONLY|"
    QUALIFIER_ATTRIBUTE20 = "N"
    QUALIFIER_ATTRIBUTE21 = "Y"
    QUALIFIER_ATTRIBUTE22 = "L"
    QUALIFIER_ATTRIBUTE25 = "FLEX"
    QUALIFIER_ATTRIBUTE26 = "PROJECTS"
    QUALIFIER_ATTRIBUTE27 = "Attribute20"
    QUALIFIER_ATTRIBUTE28 = "PROJECTNAME"
    #QUALIFIER_ATTRIBUTE30 = "N"
    END HXC_LAYOUT_COMP_QUALIFIERS
    END HXC_LAYOUT_COMPONENTS
    and it involved changing QALIFIER_ATTRIBUTE6 of Project name LOV also:
    QUALIFIER_ATTRIBUTE6 = "HxcCuiProjectNumber|PROJECT-DISPLAY|CRITERIA|N|HxcCuiProjectId|PROJECT|RESULT|N|HxcCuiProjectNumber|PROJECT-DISPLAY|RESULT|N|HxcCuiProjectName|PROJECTNAME|RESULT|N"
    But now for all old timecards we see the project name feild, but its blank.....I am just curious that if this functionality is implemented somewhere before, then someone might have answer to my question
    Thanks in advance

  • Biometrics for PeopleSoft Time and Labor Reporting

    Hello,
    Can you please share any information regarding partners for Biometric identification integrated with PeopleSoft Time and Labor reporting?
    I have an existing Peoplesoft customer interested in adding Biometrics to their implementation and they have asked for a "recommended" list of partner solutions.
    A Google search turned up Kaba. Please understand I am not experienced in the Peoplesoft landscape, so any advice and direction is appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Dean

    Dean,
    I realize I'm a bit late to the Party here but there is another Oracle validated integration with PeopleSoft for biometric time clocks. Accu-Time's Cesium solution seamlessly integrates state-of-art biometric terminals with PeopleSoft Enterprise simply and accurately. These biometric time clocks are the only technology of it's kind available through an Oracle/PeopleSoft validated partner. Both skin surface and sub-surface are evaluated making the inaccuracies of traditional biometric technology due to dry, wet, dirty, extreme, demographic or skin condition irrelevant. Please reach out to me if you have any questions

  • Error Running Oracle Apps and Discoverer at the same time

    Hello,
    We are having trouble running Oracle Apps and Discoverer at the same time on certain user's machines. Here are the specifics:
    The user opens Oracle Apps in Internet Explorer. The user then opens Discoverer in another Internet Explorer windows and receives the following error: Runtime Error! Program: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe abnormal program termination
    As a work around, I installed Firefox on those user's machines. These users run Oracle Apps in Internet Explorer and run Discoverer in FireFox. This has solved the problem in 99% of the cases. However, there is one user who is having FireFox using Discoverer freeze when running Oracle Apps in Internet Explorer.
    Can anyone provide any insight on how I can solve these conflict issues so users can run Oracle Apps and Discoverer at the same time?
    Thanks in advance for your help,
    Carlos

    Hi Michael,
    I agree with you completely. It is reccommended to run 10g on a separate physical server unless you have sufficient resources to run on the same server (which even most large clients do not) Even then, I would recommend a separate server.
    I should have put my comment in context :-)
    a.) I was only stating that it was possible
    and
    b.) whether 10g is installed on the same physical server or separate should not affect the client browser crashing issue that was posted.
    I do have an install with EBS11i and Discoverer 10g on the same physical server and it works fine (this is sandbox/ TEST). Most of my large customers have 10g installed on multiple physical servers due to load balancing (capacity).
    I do work for Oracle. I try to help out on the forum when I can, but it is hit or miss :-(
    I would be glad to discuss anything privately.
    As for the issue at hand, I can reproduce the problem and here is what is occuring.
    I have EBS 11i configured with Jiniator 1.3.24
    I have Discoverer 10g configured with Sun Java plugin 1.4.2_06
    1. If you launch EBS 11i apps and a form with MS IE, then the browser launches the form using Jiniator JRE 1.3.xx (whatever you have configured in AutoConfig for EBS11i)
    2. Next, the user navigates to EBS 11i SSWA and launches a Discoverer workbook.
    What occurs is a child IEXPLORE.exe process is spawned from the parent IEXPLORE.exe process and Discoveer Plus is launched. The parent iexplore.exe process will be attached to the Jiniator JVM. Now if Discoverer is configured with
    a.) Sun Java Plugin or
    b.)a version of Jinitiator that is a different version from what EBS 11i is configured with
    then you may get this conflict.
    It really is an MS IE/JRE conflict with Jinitiator and Sun Java Plugi and the way the broswers attaches to the JVM (IMHO) as this behaviour could be reproduced with other non-oracle java applets.
    You can workaround the situation by:
    a. configure EBS11i and Discoverer to use the same version of Jiniator 1.3.xx
    b. educate the users to open one MS IE browser to connect to EBS11i and then open a second MS IE browser to login to EBS11i SSWA or Discoverer 10g Plus directly to launch workbooks. They need to to this by clicking on the icon and not using File >> New browser. Clicking on the icon will spawn a new parent iexplore.exe process that can attach to a second/different JVM. File >> New Window will spawan a child of the parent.
    c. As you did use two browser versions. MS IE for EBS11 connection and FireFox for Disocverer 10g connection.
    I would choose optoin b, so that you can use Sun Java Plugin with Discoverer.
    Open to any comments. I hope that helps you workaround the problem. The ideal solution is to have EBS 11i use/cerified with the 1.4 or 1.5 JRE. In poking around, I see there is a related post to this on one of Oracle's EBS 11i Product Managers Blog.

  • CAT2 for Time Entry (single and multiple)

    Hello all,
    We have been using CATW for time entry and CAT2 for multiple time entry and have security set up accordingly. We're thinking of moving to CAT2 for all time entry but need to make sure we can configure to allow single time entry for those reporting only their own time, and multiple time entry for those reporting their own as well as others. I think this may be doable between a combination of security and IMG/Data Entry profile work. Does anyone have any experience using CAT2 in this way?
    Thanks,
    Doug

    First create a  data entry profile/CVR through SPRO for a time sheet,
    Then assign this profile to a user through user parameter CVR (Cats Variant for Recording) in the table USR05.
    This CVR is used in CAT2 to access the time sheet corresponding to the profile assigned to the user.
    Thanks
    Mahi
