Oracle Tools to manage LOB

I am looking for an Oracle tool for development. I need to manage a lot of LOB objects. I found that the following tools can also fulfill my requirements and in reasonable price.
- PL/SQL developer (http://www.allroundautomations.com)
- dbXpert for Oracle (http://www.vecal.biz)
Does anyone know about these two tools ? any suggestions ?
Thanks.

  • Tools to manage and use oracle scripts

Easyscript for Oracle is a tool to help you manage scripts efficiently
and use scripts easily. The goal of easyscript is providing you a uniform
and easy envrionment to manage and use your scripts.
With hundreds of ready-made scripts, easyscript is also a monitoring and tuning
tool for Oracle DBA and application developer.
With Easyscript for Oracle there is no more hunting around on your hard drive for your favorite and important scripts!
    Manageability
    1. Scripts are well organized in tree structure, can be nested in any level, divided into
different categories as you like. Each tree node represents a script.
    2. Using the search function, you can find a particular script even faster.
With a mouse click, you can view the entire script, and even flip back and forth between scripts.
    3. Add script into (delete script from, modify script name in) script tree can be done on the fly.
    4. SQL statement, sqlplus command and pl/sql block can be mixed together into a script,
edit script in script window with syntax highlighting.
    5. Able to convert old scripts located in directory and subdirectory to a well organized script
tree used by easyscript, so migrate your old scripts in file system to easyscript is very handy.
    Usability
    1. Script is sqlplus compatible, so any scripts previously run in sqlplus can be run
    by easyscript, and vice versa.
    2. Execute script in easyscript is just one mouse click.
    3. All scripts or scripts located under a categories can be runned in batch mode.
    4. Scripts can be scheduled to run in batch mode to generate report of any targeted databases.
    5. Report generated by easyscript can be in htm or txt format.More output format such as cvs, excel
    will be supported soon.
    6. Able to highlight column data of query result when it's value meet pre-defined condition,
    this makes report more readable.
    Script depot
    1. Hundreds of ready-made scripts,These scripts cover all
aspects of day-to-day Oracle administration, from installation
to system monitoring and backup and recovery.
    2. Easy to share and exchange scripts with others in a uniform way.
    3. Affiliate with other famous Oracle site to provide more scripts continuously.

  • GUI based tool to manage Dimensions in Oracle 8i

    Hi guys check this out,
Exalt Systems(www.exaltsystems.com) has come up with a tool, Dimension Manager, to manage Oracle relational database Dimensions in Oracle RDBMS 8i and higher. This tool can be used to browse dimensions, create new nodes, move/copy nodes by simple drag-and-drop operations in dimension within same schema and in different schemas.
This is really cool. You can get the demo copy by mailing to [email protected]
    null

Oracle does not provide any tool for altering the contents on an existing dmp file.
What you probably should do is filter the data prior to extraction. There are actually third party tools to do this such as Priceton Softtech had such a tool which IBM bought the company to get. It would extract data into files and then manipulate the table column data while maintaining the PK to FK relationships. That is if it changed the value of a PK it would update all the FK that pointed to the old value to point to the new value.
Naturally, you can do this yourself.
You could define a set of manipulation tables, insert/select the data, manipulate it, then export and import the data from these tables.
Filtering can be fairly simple or pretty complex depending on the number of objects involved, the amount of data, and the number of sensitive columns.

  • Oracle Universal Records Management adapter with FAST ESP

This is my first post on the forums and I have limited Oracle exposure. So if I’m posting in the incorrect spot or there are some other guidelines I need to observer, please let me know.
I’m trying to figure out the possibility of leveraging the Oracle Universal Records Management adapter for SharePoint in Records Management with FAST ESP (a best of class enterprise search platform). From the technical documents I’ve read on the adapter, it looks like it heavily relies on SharePoint search as the “feed’ for content. Does this mean that the SharePoint Search is required for the SharePoint adapter? As in environments that deploy FAST ESP also need to maintain SharePoint search for the adapter. Or can the adapter leverage FAST ESP?
    Any insight would be appreciated.
    TIA

anyhow i have tried ur tips as much i unterstand them (some of the command in cmd prompt and rest in sql plus)
it notifies an error of missing a datafile that i have corrected and finally the login page appeared in the em. also connection from sql plus is successful.
now while connecting to oracle through ORACLE DEVELOPER TOOL for .NET, i got this error:
"An error occured while opening the connection, connection must be open for this operation"
if i tried to connect through SYS as NORMAL it gave me the error to connect as SYSDBA or SYSOPER that is a valid error, but wat for the connection open error.
    thanx.

  • Connecting to Oracle 10G Enterprise Manager console

    Hi SDNers,
We've recently successfully upgraded Oracle from 9.2.0.7 to 10G (as part of a Solution Manager 4.0 upgrade) and I'm now interested in getting started with the new Oracle 10G Enterprise Manager (web-based console).
I'm at the point where I have EM up and running, but it is not connecting to our SAP database because it is trying to connect to port 1521, whilst the database uses 1527.
Does anyone know how to change the EM configuration so that it points to port 1527 and therefore connects to the SAP database?
    Thanks in advance,
    Arwel.

  • Oracle 10g Enterprise Manager DB control vs Enterprise Manager Console

We have a consultant install Oracle 10g on Windows platform. Somehow, I only see Enterprise Manager Console installed and I can use this console to access database. I don't see Enterprise Manager Database Control installed. What difference between Console and DB control? Please advise.
    Thanks
    S.

    ski123 wrote:
I see the interfaces are totally different. the console is more like Oracle 9i. I know the DB control is a web tool, just for Oracle 10g. My question is in terms of admin, which one is better? Why Oracle has different tool to manage Database? The Oracle Enterprise Manager Console is a Java Standalone client, not a 3-tier product like the EM DB Console.
The Java Standalone client was deprecated in 10gR1. Probably since not all features had been ported to the 3-tier DB Console (eg: Spatial index management and Workspace Management), Oracle decided to let us use the Java Console as an extra install from the Client/Companion disk. However it is no longer available going forward into 11g.
If you look at the 'Console' carefully, you will not that some areas are no longer functional and it does not cover all capability of 10g, for example in partitioning and indexing.

  • Management Tool to manage both Catalyst and Nexus

Is there a single network management tool to manage both Nexus and Catalyst at the same time?

  • Is anyone using the Oracle Software Configuration Manager (SCM) feature?

I would like to provide version control over my forms development process (check in, check out, etc). I see that there is a built in Oracle Software Configuration Management tool. Has anyone used it?
    Any pros?
    Any cons?

Hi Daniel, it looks like Bruce has succinctly and accurately described configuration of the ImportManager step above (8/13).
One thing I could add is that the Key Field for Manager ID field should be set to the LDAP attribute that contains the 'pointer' to a given person's manager.
For example, given John Smith's sample LDAP record with the following attributes and values:
    givenName = John
    sn = Smith
    uid = jsmith01
    mgrUid = mmartin51
    In this exam

  • Integrate Siebel eService (8.0) with Oracle  Enterprise Content Management

We are planning to integrate Siebel eService (8.0.0.10) with Oracle Enterprise Content Management. Has anybody did this integration in past and give us some suggestions.

    Hi,
Oracle SQL Net Connect String is the entry in TNSNAME.ORA file which identifies your Oracle Database SID.
    e.g.
    ORCL_SBA =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS_LIST =
    (ADDRESS =
    (PROTOCOL = TCP)
    (HOST = host.com)
    (PORT = 1521)
    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SERVICE_NAME = ORCL_SBA)
Here, the Oracle SQL Net Connect String is: ORCL_SBA. Net Connect String is utilized to directly connect with the Database, without any Driver being interfaced in between.
While, ODBC DSN is a all together different stuff. You create ODBC DSN using "Data Sources (ODBC)" Utility under Administrative Tools. Here you need to specify a Driver to Connect to the Database, which should be the Siebel Oracle Driver Provided by DataDirect Technology.
    Hope this clears your confusion.
Oracle SQL Net Connect String & ODBC DSN are two different stuff, used for different reasons.
As Robert said, you need to read the Installation Guide more thoroughly for understanding the nuances of Siebel Installation.

  • Migrate Lotus Notes Finance Apps to Oracle Enterprise Asset Management

    Hi,
I would like to know if Lotus Notes apps for asset management can be migrated to Oracle Enterprise Asset Management. If so are there any tools to aid the process.

    Hi,
This forum is for migrating from non-Oracle databases to Oracle.
It would bebetter to ask this question in an EAM forum so try here -
