Do you know if it is possible to have oracle UCM with an Open Text Content Server? Can you share any experiences you had with me?

Yes, I do use SAP DB and trying to migrate files to Open Text Content Server. Actually I have been looking for other ways except changing the file names 'casue cannot change some names for technical reason .
Anyway, much appreciate for your help for me confirming no solution come yet from Open Text .

Oracle UCM with Weblogic portals

Does any one has idea working with oracle UCM with Weblogic portals. Can anyone suggest any tutorial in online.

Oracle UCM doesnot open after it is getting installed -- please help

I am getting a typical error in which the oracle - ucm content server fails to open after getting installed. I am using the DB2 database, what can be the cause for this issue am unable to understand. Please find below the logs corresponding to this process:-

1. Web content management tool used is Oracle UCM.
2. Web content managed using oracle ucm needs to be published and accessed via SAP Portal.

In the method run(), you call the method MakeConnection(), which might throw an IOException.
Since IOException is a checked exception, you must in the method run() specify what you're going to do when an IOException happens. You must either catch the exception (put the call to MakeConnection in a try / catch block) or indicate that run() can throw an IOException by specifying it at the beginning of the method:
public void run() throws IOException { ...
But note that you'll just be moving the problem to the method that calls run(). Somewhere in your program you must catch and handle the exception.

Populating Users With Open Directory Archive

I have a New 10.8.2 Lion server that I would like to bring all the 10.7.5 users over. what is the best way to do this. It seems that the 10.7.5 arcive is not compatable with 10.8.2. Any ideas would be great. I can't upgrade the 10.7.5 system becuase its an an old system.

Trying to log in with Thunderbird showed differently in the IMAP log. It's user disabled instead.

ABAP for Open Text

Hi,
We are implementing Open Text for Finance AP, we have a third party workflow system running for corporate approval solution.
Is it possible for me to write an ABAP code retrieve the image or any URL link? So that I can view it outside SAP?
My objective is to let the approver view the original invoice which already deposit into Open Text Archive server before approved to release payment. The approver is not part of SAP users.
Any ideas or solution is very much appreciated.

Started the installation of oracle ucm but couldnt complete that.
When i looked in to the log files got the error message which says

DMS and Open Text Interfacing

Dear Experts,
Kindly guide me how to do customization in SPRO for Doculink for SAP Solution
Nevigation: SPRO >> Open Text Archiving and Document Access for SAP Solutions >> Doculink for SAP Solution
When I got to change document CV02N and trying to save the document this is showing me an error message -
"Error : while checking in and storing in specified path"
I feel some customization setting missing here due to which I an getting this error.

Hi Sumedha,
This error means the storage location is not defined properly. Kindly check that you have defined storage location properly.
where r u storing these documents? Also check in customizing for this in current path which you are using. In standard dms we
are defining it in OAC0 and OACT.

Integrating ucm with other content servers.

Can I integrate oracle ucm with other content servers like Alfresco,Documentum etc.If possible how can i do it?

Yes , can do it in certain cases like Share Point where UCM has adapter components which would connect to the 3rd party CMS and data transfers can be possible .With Documentum as well I believe that there is an adapter which when installed on UCM / URM one can access to the other CMS.
Do not have any adapters apart from these 2 as far as I know.

OCR support in Oracle UCM

Can we integrate Oracle UCM with any OCR to capture data? if yes, how, is there any document available?

Oracle UCM fails to check in text/xml files

We have an Oracle UCM server that is failing to check in xml files over a certain size - I haven't narrowed down the size limit yet, but a <100kb file will work 100% of the time, while 300+ Kb xml files fail almost all the time, though there has been some success. Image files and zip file succeed on new check ins 100% of the time as well. We have tried with the SOAP API and the UCM new check in form - in both cases we get an empty repsonse from the server. In firefox we get the "The connection was reset" page. I'm at a loss as to explain why, but I have almost no experience with Oracle UCM. This particular server has been running for over a year happily accepting xml files of all sizes, then one day just stopped - as far as I am aware, nobody changed any
settings/upgraded anything/changed network topology.
When I look in the server output, I don't really see any indication of failure or find any mention of the file name or content title like I do when a file successfully checks in.
I have already asked the DBA to drop and rebuild the database index, started the Collection rebuild cycle (it finished successfully) and turned on the webless file store option on the defaultfilestore provider.
UCS Version : 10.1.3.3.3 (080807) (Build:7.2.2.188)
Database : Microsoft SQL Server 09.00.4035 currently using DATABASE.METADATA though I think it was at one point using Full text search, but the database was not.
Java Version:1.6.0
Please ask if there is any other information you need, but I do not have physical access to the machine, and I may not be able to reveal certain info due to privacy/security concerns.

I think you should open an SR with support to help out. Be that as it may, here's some observations/suggestions...
* You are running a 4-year old content server. There have been numerous fixes since then. Your system may have grown to a point where it's hit one of the older issues.
* Is it possible the XML encoding may have changed? i.e. that whatever generates the XML files is now generating them slightly differently and therefore the encoding is different so check-in doesn't follow the same rules? I'd look at the first line of older files versus the new files which fail. If there's a difference, refer to KM note 978689.1 in our knowledge base.
* You say there doesn't appear to be anything in the logs, so let's increase them:
- Login to UCM as Administrator. Go to Administration->System Audit Information. Switch on the Full Verbose Tracing checkbox. In the Active Sections field, put in:
systemdatabase - this will show you what queries and inserts are made to the database and should show whether there's a problem at that level.
requestaudit - this shows you the requests as they come in, as well as a roundup of all requests every 2 minutes. If you see large amounts of time being taken on requests, your server could be creaking because of resources.
publish - tells you about publishing related issues, most XML file check-ins are related to this.
- Try to check in a file which should fail.
- Switch off verbose logging (see above) to reduce overhead.
If the OS is Windows then the <install>/config.cfg file needs to have UseRedirectedOutput=true in order to generate a log file for this tracing. On Windows the file is the <install>/bin/IdcServerNT.log file. (if the above config is set)
On *nix it is in the <install>/etc/log file (notice that there is no file extension on the file)
If none of the logs helps you, an SR is probably in order.

SAP Archiving & Document Access by Open Text installation problem

Hi!
Has anybody successfully installed the "SAP Archiving & Document Access by Open Text"?
Currently I'm trying to Install the "Runtime and Core Services 10.1.0" - a part of "Open Text Enterprise Library Services 10.1.0".
The install guides I follow: "Open Text Enterprise Library Services 10.1.0 Installation and Upgrade Guide.pdf" and "Open Text Runtime and Core Services - Installation and Upgrade Guide.pdf".
All the prerequisites a fulfilled, but the process of installation fails with message "The installation of Runtime and Core Services 10.1.0 returned an error". There is no any log or trace file created during the installation, so I cannot find out what causes the problems.
System configuration:
OS: Windows 2003 SP2 32-bit
DB: MS SQL 2005
AS: Tomcat 5.5
JAVA: JDK 1_5_0_22
Any idea?

I had same problem with RCS 10.2.0. I've solved this with good JRE version, see KB : http://knowledge.opentext.com/knowledge/cs.dll/Open/21121763.
