So that we may better diagnose DOWNLOAD problems, please provide the following information.
    - Server name
    - Filename
    - Date/Time
    - Browser + Version
    - O/S + Version
    - Error Msg

This is pretty old. From the certify matrix, you can see the last available versions this platform supported were 9.0.1 and 8.1.7, just for the Intel SCO Open UNIX 8 with LKP. SCO 5.0 last time I used it was with an Oracle7.3 release. In case you don't have software it'll be hard to find, unless you address this to your Oracle Representative.
Are you absolutely required to run on this version? Otherwise, you could try new software and new oracle releases, unless you want to run unsupported.

  • Which Reader version is right for Vista Basic?

I am being prompted to dowload Reaer v. 10.1.6. I have been infected before by clicking on a prompt. I went to Adobe.com and only 10.1.4 seems to be available for Vista. Should I accept the 10.1.6 download?

  • Oracle 9i for VISTA

    Hi,
I would like to install oracle 9i in my personal computer Operating system is VISTA.Basic need for me is to execute sql query to be familer with sql.
Please let me,what I need to install?
Is it enough if i download following:
    Oracle9i Database Release 2 Enterprise/Standard/Personal Edition
    for Windows NT/2000/XP
    Thanks
    Aravindh

    1) No version of Oracle is certified on the Home edition of any version of Windows
    2) Oracle 9.2 desupport was the end of last month (though customers get a free year of extended support)
    3) No version of Oracle 9i was ever supported on Vista
Unless you have a particular need for 9i, I'd strongly suggest that you download the latest version (Oracle 10.2) which does support Windows Vista. A 9i install might potentially work on Vista, but I would strongly suspect that there will either be issues during installation or issues while you're using the database.

  • Oracle 11 for Vista 64bit

Does Oracle has an installabe database version for Windows 7 64bit? I tried to install 2 versions but nothing works. The requirement check expect something with version 5 or 6.0 but version 6.1 is returned from my system. Don't know what it means - but Oracle is not installable!
    1. does not work: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/10204-winx64-vista-win2k8-082253.html
    2. does not work: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/enterprise-edition/downloads/index.html

    Best regards, Andree from Munich

    Welcome to the forums !
The only versions that are currently certified for Windows 7 are 10.2.0.5 and 11gR2. 11gR2 can be downloaded from http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/enterprise-edition/downloads/112010-win64soft-094461.html
For installing 10.2.0.5, you will need access to My Oracle Support to download the 10.2.0.5 patch.
The Install Guide for 11gR2 is here - http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11882_01/install.112/e10843/toc.htm
What do "not installable" and "does not work" mean ? Any error messages in the install logs ?

  • Unable to download oracle 10g for vista

I'm trying to download Oracle 10g for Windows Vista, but I only get a zero-byte file.
I even tried Oracle 10g XE for Windows, but I get a zero byte file.
Also, when you try to download, it waits about a couple of minutes before saying completed.
Any ideas how to resolve this?.

    Thanks for the replies.
It seemed to be a problem with either oracle's web site or a hop between oracle and my computer. It works now. I don't think it was my computer because I succussfully downloaded files from several other sites.
I have downloaded Oracle 10g for windows vista and installed it successfully on vista home premium 32-bit.
I did get a warning because I use DHCP. It recommended to install Microsoft Loopback driver as the primary interface - I didn't do that.
Oracle seems to run okay. I downloaded sql developer and it connects okay to oracle.
I have read other messages on here that installing oracle on a windows system using DHCP without a loopback driver can fail once my IP address changes. If I did install the microsoft loopback driver as my primary interface, what else would I need to do? Would installing this driver cause other stuff on my computer to fail?
Also, when I entered the database name for Oracle, it truncated a character.
I wasn't paying attention. So, after I installed, I was unable to connect at first because I kept entering the wrong TNS name. Is there a maximum TNS name length?
Notice the TNS name is TESTDB10 but the service name is TESTDB10G
    TESTDB10 =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = 192.168.1.101)(PORT = 1521))
    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SERVER = DEDICATED)
    (SERVICE_NAME = testdb10g)
    )

  • Oracle version for AIX 5.3 ?

I just download the latest Oracle 10g Trial version for AIX 5L from the Web. But as I go through installation, while running "runInstaller", it gave me message:
"Checking operating system version: must be 5200
    Failed <<<<"
Of course since I have AIX 5.3. The requirement of Oracle 10g says the OS should be "AIX 5L version 5.2, Main level 1 or higher". With AIX 5.3, is there a Oracle version?
    thanks,

    Thank you, it worked!
However it seems to me a more workaround. Is there a source to say Oracle 10g for AIX 5.3 is officially supported (or aka certified for the platform)? If a Oracle 10g is purchased and problem develops on AIX 5.3, I don't want to get a saying it is not yet certified.
    Thanks,

  • Which Oracle version for analytic sql?

Can anyone tell me from which Oracle version on there exists the "analytic sql"?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
    Mark1970 wrote:

Thanks!Analytic functions (that is, functions using the OVER keyword, such as
RANK () OVER (ORDER BY hiredate)) were introduced in Oracle 8.1
(It's no coincidence that in-line views were introduced around the same time, since so many uses of anaytic functions require sub-queries.
In-line views were first documented in Oracle 8.1, but they worked in Oracle 8.0.)

  • Oracle Version for Windows 7 ??

    Hi,
I had 10g on Vista 64bit prior but now since I have switched to Windows 7,sadly 10g doesn't work for me anymore :( I searched around and found that Oracle 10g supports Windows NT kernel version 4.0,5.0,5.1 means Xp and Vista and designed for that and windows 7 based on NT 6.1 so no support for it by 10g.
So I wanted to know which version should I use of Oracle 11g?? I will be giving my certification exam soon so wanted to practice,so kindly help me out :)

11.2 will be the first version of Oracle to be certified on Windows 7. 11.2 for Windows, last I checked, is scheduled to be released some time in Q1 of 2010.
I have installed 11.1 on Windows 7 laptops that seem to be working. It's not certified, and there may well be issues with certain components, but I haven't personally encountered any issues.

  • Which version for Vista Home Premium?

I have to run ITunes on a laptop with windows vista home premium 2006.
After some recent automatic update Itunes is not running anymore. It crashes either if I try to upload any CD on my Ipod or if I try to sinchronize my Ipad.
In a few words, should I reinstall an older version of Itunes? Which one?

    Itues is version 11.0.2
Maybe the Vista version has not been updated in recent years. I'll see, but I wouldn't like to update Vista because the laptop is old and I guess it would become slower.
The problem with Itues is that as soon as I try to synchronize the Ipad it freezes and I'have to force the shutdown of Itunes in order to make the laptop run again.
If I try to upload a music CD the upload and conversion to Aac format is supe slow (I mean 1 hour for a 4 minute track).

  • What Oracle version for XML Parser for java

Is the XML Parser for Java only available for use with
Oracle 8i? Is it possible to use with Oracle 8.05
    null

The XML Parser for Java can be used with any of the supported
version JavaVMs. The only difference with 8i is that you can
load it into the database and use JServer which is an internal
VM. For 8.0.5 you simple run it externally and connect through
    JDBC.

  • Oracle Version for Advanced Replication

    Hi all,
When, Advanced Replication first appeared in Oracle Database?
Was it in version: 7, 8i or 9i?????
I' d like to do the same question for materialized view.
I know that in previous releases materialized view was snapshot. So, in wich version of Oracle snapshot was introduced?
    I hope somebody help me...

Do not use none of them. Conflict resolution will kill you. This is only will works if one side working on one set of tables while other working on other sets of tables. If you do not want to have such hadace use active standby database (11g) to run reports locally, but all changes must happen on primary side.

  • Recommended Oracle version for SAP 4.7 and for BW 3.5

    Hi,
where I can find the SAP's recommended version of Oracle for SAP ERP 4.7 and BW 3.5?

    Hi,
    Recommended would be 10.2.0.2
Oracle has ended the customer care support for 9.2 in July 2007:
Note 925871 - Discontinuation of 'Customer Care Support' for Oracle 9.2
At the same time, SAP customers have a "free" year of  Extended Support for Version 9.2.
9.2.0.8 is the latest patch set provided for 9.2. (see note 1021844)
I think that, if you are planning to perform a new installation, it would be better to do it in 10.2
