Oracle Vision Database Structure

Hello guys
Does anybody know where I can find the Oracle Vision Database Structure? I don't want the installation documentation. I just want a document that shows the Database Structure.
Thanks for all your help.

Hi
plese explain Youre question
Do You want to get DDL-statement to recreate objects ?
The space which You allocated for database is reserved and marked on blocks.
Free bloks doesn't belong to a reserve of an empty space of operating system .
I think if You whant to get size of the absolutely empty database
You need to calculate sizes of minimum necessary files in tablespaces SYSTEM, SYSAUX, Redo-files, control files , password- and controlfiles
or shrinking every table to a minimum space, move HWM and then calculate the size that Youre database occupy

Pavel

  • Converting between tables in an Oracle Lite Database

We have a standalone application that uses Oracle Lite. A requirement we have from a new customer is to use their Oracle Lite database structure or to come up with a mechanism that sends the data between the 2 different structures.
Both the structures reside in the same database.
Initial thoughts were to write triggers on both structures that convert the data or to use XML / XSL and treat them as seperate apps.
However, I'm wondering if there is a different way. Do Oracle provide any tools that can help with mapping between 2 different structures that hold the same domain data?
    Anyone got any better ideas?
    Cheers, Matt

  • Migration bigger database structure Informix- Oracle : neverending process ?

I have problem: I tried to convert Informix source model to oracle model (real database structure - several tenths of tables, triggers, procedures, ... - without data). Log window "Creating oracle model" appeared and icon and text "Mapping" had been showed. And this state stayed permanent. Nothing following happened, no next changes on file 'omwb.odb' I could to see. After 6
hours i 'clicked' on 'Abort' button. On following Workbench showed message that it could not to do abort and recommended me to restart program.
Are there some limitations in Workbench for complexity of database structure ? How many time can take obviously creating of Oracle model from real (but empty) database ? Can it take more then 6 hours ?!
    null

No, 6 hours is too long, something has gone wrong with the migration. Please send the error.log file (under %ORACLE_HOME%/Omwb/log) and a description of the problem to [email protected] and we shall do our best to assist you.
    Regards,
    Brian.

  • Where can I download or buy Oracle Application Vision Database ?

I want to practise the Oracle financial 11i on-line training, but where to download the Oracle Application Vision Database? And, is there any other way I can practise? Thanks a lot.

    Hi
Nicky is right. Download is not possible but you can order one by authorized service partner in your country. The addresses you can find under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com ?Support & Downloads ?Find an authorized service partner.
You can also use your own OS installation and install all Toshiba stuff (drivers, tools and utilities) alone. All you need you can find on Toshiba download page.
    Bye and good luck!

  • Looking for a specific list of modules included in Oracle Vision demo

    Hi All,
I am trying to find out which EBS modules are included when you install Oracle Vision demo db. My client no longer has the Vision db installed and before I reinstall it, I'd like to know what I will get. For example, is GRC included and what is the lastest ver/rel that I should install to get the latest?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Thanks in advance for your help.I do not think you will find the list of modules documented. However IINM, vision demo database is similar to any fresh EBS installation except for more installed modules and data, so if you refer to any fresh installed EBS instance you should get the list of modules.

  • Restore Oracle XE database to another machine

I have an oracle XE database on a Windows XP machine, and I want to copy it to a Windows 7 machine.
On the XP, I performed a backup through the "Backup Database" from the GUI (BACKUP.BAT). The Oracle backup created 3 new folders underneath C:\ORACLEXE\APP\ORACLE\FLASH_RECOVERY_AREA\XE\
    ARCHIVELOG
    AUTOBACKUP
    BACKUPSET
I installed XE on the Windows 7 machine and it seems to work well.
Then I coped the 3 backup folders onto a jump drive and put them in the corresponding folder structure on the new Windows 7 machine. I ran the Restore from the GUI as an administrator (RESTORE.BAT). The restore failed, and I can't seem to figure out why. I'm not sure what the Sequence Numbers are all about.
Now I can't get into Apex or Apex_Admin
Thanks for taking a look at this.

After playing around a little bit I fixed the problem.
There are a total of four folders in \FLASH_RECOVERY_AREA\XE\ I had only copied three of the four.
    ARCHIVELOG
    AUTOBACKUP
    BACKUPSET
The Windows services keep the files in ONLINELOG open, so I had to shut down the services and then work with the folder. Therefore four folders have to be transported and copied onto the new machine:
    ARCHIVELOG
    AUTOBACKUP
    BACKUPSET
    ONLINELOG
If you run as an administrator "Backup" from the GUI, it executes BACKUP.BAT, a batch file which calls RMAN. Once that's done, copy the four folders to the same location on the target machine and then run as an administrator "Restore" (RESTORE.BAT).
In another forum someone said to be sure that the "Archive Logs" are copied. It should be interpreted to mean not just the "ARCHIVELOG" folder, but all four folders.

  • Oracle 8.1.5 oci client to oracle 9i database

Is is supported to use an Oracle 8.1.5 oci client to oracle 9i
database? If not, will it work?

    Ok,
so You can follow the migration path that I've indicated before:
"To do that, the simplest way., is to install 10g r2 software on the Win 2003 machine. Create the DB and create the same accounts of the 8i version.
On the 8i version, export all the schemas using "exp" utility, w/o using the DIRECT option.
Copy the generated dump files onto the Win 2003 machine and import them using th "imp" utility,
Analyze all the objects and that the migration is complete.
You shouldn't find any problem porting structures and code from 8i to 10g R2
No matters will occours, cause imp utility of 10g is backward compatible with 8i exp files
    Hop this helps

  • Security problem in oracle 9i Database Configuration Assistant

Inside the tool Oracle 9i Database Configuration Assistant there is an option by which you can make a "copy" of your Database. This "copy" is called a template and you don4t need any password or aunthentication to do it, you just need the tool to be installed in your server. Once you have a template, you can bring it anywhere and recreate the original database (including data). Again, you don't need any password or aunthentication to do it, further more, in the last step of this process you can change the password of any user (inluding SYS, SYSTEM or another DBA user). The thing about this is that anyone with access to the computer where the database is can make a template of it, take this template to another computer and recreate my database having FULL access to it (structure, data, code ...). And everything without needing any password!!!. I really thing that it is a big problem. Is there any way of preventing this operation?. How can I safely protect my database?. I thought about unistalling the product, but someone can re-install it and everything would be the same. Can someone give me an answer?
    Thanks for everything.
    Pablo Cuenca

You must protect your database from casual browsing at the OS level. This is not a security hole, per se, since this is a known issue with any and all software. Database Configuration Assistant is not needed for this since one may copy the database without it.

  • Oracle 9i database CLONE

    Hi all,
Can any one tell me how to clone oracle 9i database. I am new in DBA post plz help me. Or plz give me any document ID in metalink.

You could use RMAN to clone a database:
Steps for Creating Duplicate Database using Rman:
    •     Create an Oracle Password file for the Auxiliary (Duplicate) db.
    •     Create an entry for the duplicate db in listener.ora & tnsnames.ora
    •     Create an Initialization file for the Duplicate db & modify the following parameters:
DB_FILE_NAME_CONVERT='/u01/oradata','/u01/oradata1/' [ specify primary db dbf location & duplicate db dbf location ]
LOG_FILE_NAME_CONVERT='/u02/oradata/','/u02/oradata1/' [ specify primary db redolog location & duplicate db redolog location] CONTROL_FILES=(/dup/oracle/oradata/trgt/control01.ctl)
    •     Create spfile for the duplicate db
    •     Startup nomount - - - duplicate db
    •     Mount or open the primary db
    •     Take a backup of primary db including archivelogs using rman
    •     Duplicating a Database on a Remote Host with the Same Directory Structure: rman catalog=rman/17rman05@t920_ant target=/ auxiliary=sys/dbsys@dupdb
    run { DUPLICATE TARGET DATABASE TO dupdb                                            NOFILENAMECHECK; }
    •     Duplicating a Database on a Remote Host with the Different Directory Structure: DUPLICATE TARGET DATABASE TO dupdb

  • How to convert oracle 9i database to mysql using JSP?

    Dear friends,
I want to convert oracle 9i database to mysql using JSP technology. Does there anyone who have a hint or some web links about this task? I searched the internet and found all of them are not free and no source code. In fact, what I want to do is really simple, I just want to first, reading the oracle database table structure information and then create the exactly same table in mysql, and then copying all the data in oracle database table to mysql table. But I dont know how to retrieve the oracle table structure using JDBC. And also I want to retrieve all the tables in the oracle database, so I can choose from them to convert to mysql. It seems that the structure in oracle usually have the tablespace information, I dont know if I can create database in mysql using this tablespace information. And I dont know where I can find the information about the functions in JDBC? For example, how to retrieve the table structure? Once I retrieve the table structure and create the exactly same table structure in mysql, then I can fetch all the data in oracle table to mysql table.
Any hint will be great appreciated!
Merry Christmas and Happy new year!

    Hi, beattris and rtg54,
thank you very much for your great help!
beattris, do you know if there is any such kind of tool free? I am a student and don't want to do commercial product, as you see, my work is very simple, in fact, just as you said, the most important of all is how to get the database structure from oracle schema? do you have any idea about this? or do you know any tool that is open source? so I can learn from it.
rtg54, I just want to convert the database from oracle to mysql, after that, I can use mysql database as storage instead of expensive oracle database. the problem is that I have some data stored in oracle database and the application is built on oracle, after the convertion, I can use mysql to provide data to jsp or servlet application. I will great appreciate if you can contact with mysql about this problem because I don't know how to contact with them.
thanks again and happy new year!

  • Automatic Checking of Database Structures

In OSS note 521870 SAP recommends to perform a weekly
check of the Database Structures to verify that the
Maxdb database is not corrupt. Unfortunately this
OSS note only describes the manual procedure to
    perform this task:
dbmgui -> Check -> Database Structure
Is there any way to easily schedule this also via dbmcli?
The SAP online documentation contains some interesting
information about integrating the check into the CCMS,
here I can see whether the database structure check
was performed recently, but unfortunately I cannot
    schedule it
    http://dev.mysql.com/doc/maxdb/en/30/5ada6e596211d4aa83006094b92fad/content.htm
All I can find here is to schedule it via DB13,
but unfortunately my SCM 4.1 system is running on
Oracle and I want to check the liveCache on Maxdb,
so I cannot use DB13 for scheduling the check.

    Hello Mark,
    Central DBA Planning Calendar ::
In the user menu, choose the Central DBA Planning Calendar
    (transaction DB13C).
If it is not already there, add your liveCache to the list of systems.
To do this, choose Configuration ® Add System.
System ID: Enter here the liveCache name that you assigned during the
integration of the liveCache (using MaxDB/liveCache System Overview).
    Database: Choose SDB/LVC.
Database Release: Choose the liveCache Version in accordance with the
     version notation .
    Select No SAP Basis.
Database Server: Enter the name of the liveCache server.
Connection Name: Enter the name of the database connection.
To switch to a local DBA planning calendar, choose Local Calendar and then
select the system for which you want to edit actions.
Please also review the SAP notes 940420, 521870 ( you already know this note ).
And note 820824 FAQ: MaxDB to find the note for the documentation & more -
For SAP liveCache documentation in English:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/f2/0271f49770f0498d32844fc0283645/frameset.htm
->Database Administration in CCMS: SAP liveCache ->
    -> Central DBA Planning Calendar
If you are the official SAP customer, I recommend you to create
the ticket to SAP on 'BC-DB-LVC' queue.
Thank you and best regards, Natalia Khlopina

  • Different Database structure migartion

In second version of our software we change the database structure.
Now we need to migrate data from version 1 to version 2 that have different database structure.
Is Streaming or any other oracle feature provides possibility or I should write code by hand?

I sugeest you migrate the tables individaully having in mind the DML and DDL statements
hitting the database from the application end. You need to do a mapping for both the databse.
Do the events from your old application still update the same tables as the new application
You need to really think this out to avoid having complications in your new version.
I dont think stream option is the best at this stage rather export/import of tables would be the best option
then you can think of stream to update your new version at run time.

    Hi,
You should be able to get the complete database structure of Oracle Teleservice module if you have access to Oracle metalink.
Also there are standard customer interface APIs available in Oracle. You will find more information in Oracle metalink or in TCA architecture forum in OTN.
