Oracle VM 3.1.1 - discover existing repositories

Hi all,
I have next situation:
- one server up and running with 3 vm and all stuf (iso..) >> local repositories
- I stop all virtual machine, deregister server from pool and I added to anoher manager and pool
- I discover the server but I don't find where I can rediscover existing repositories like in version 3.0.3

Existing repositories can be discovered in Storage tab clicking "Shared File Systems", selecting your LUNs which contains repository and then clicking Refresh button.
Select one server to perform the refresh then in Repositories tab you will find your old repos.
At this point repos are listed correctly but they are empty, you need to present repos to servers clicking "Present-Unpresent Selected Repository" and finally perform a repository refresh clicking Refresh button.

I have Oracle enterprise 9i running on a linux server.
Would i have any problem if I install Oracle10g for another db on the same server.
What are the issues I should consider in order to avoid damage of the existing 9i db

There is absolutely no problem if you have multiple oracle versions. Just beware of:
Inventory location. Backup the inventory, in case something goes completely wrong, this is a usefull mean to perform a clean deinstall. If other version corrupts the inventory you have a valid backup copy.
Oracle 10g installer is different from the 9i installer, use oui provided at install media, do not use already installed oui.
When starting services, oracle will try to use 1521 default listener port. It can listen to all instances, even if they are from previous releases, it is advised to use the 10g listener. I would reccomend you, however to use a different port, this way you can perform several tests without messing with current 9i configuration.

Oracle VM 3.0.1 Discover Server Fails with NullPointerException

I am testing Oracle VM 3.0.1 on two physical server, one for the Server one for the Manger, they are able to ping each other by hostname, but when trying to discover servers the job fails on fixupMACAddress,

Hi Avi,
I have the same issue, but I did not configure a xenbridge, and I did remove the default bond configuration the installation does.
Can I only discover 3.0.1 servers if they have the bond configuration? Is there a way to get around this?

Loadjava error: ORA-29540: class oracle/aurora/rdbms/DbmsJava does not exist

Hi,
I'm trying to create a simple Java stored procedure running 8.1.6. When using loadjava (c:\jdk1.2.2\bin\java -classpath .;d:\orant8i\lib\aurora_client.jar;d:\orant8i\javavm\lib\aurora.zip;d:\orant8i\sqlj\lib\translator.zip;d:\orant8i\jdbc\lib\classes111.zip oracle.aurora.server.tools.loadjava.LoadJavaMain -u system/manager -f -v Test.class), I get the above error. The problem: file DbmsJava exists in the included aurora.zip package. To verify this, I checked the zip file, and I successfully compiled a test program importing the class.
Any ideas?

I also tried another approach to create a Java stored procedure, and got an error which I think has the same cause as above:

create directory dir as 'C:\Test';
create java class using bfile(dir, 'Test.class');
create procedure test is language java name 'Test.test()';

Can Oracle Database 10g and Oracle Database 10g Express Edition co-exist ?

I just installed Oracle Database 10g Express Edition. But I also want to access isql*plus for study purposes.
Can I download/install Oracle Database 10g without removing Oracle Database 10g Express Edition ?

I decided to download and install Oracle 10g myself and it was pretty quick to install. So I answered my own question : Oracle 10g Express is definitely able to co-exist with Oracle 10g no problem.
I want to post/share this answer for others who started with Oracle 10g express first - the journey I started.
The url isql*plus is displayed near the end of the installation together with the enterprise manager url. Pretty cool.
Now I can learn both Oracle 10g enterprise edition and Oracle 10g Express which is based on apex engine.

Migrating from Informix 9.21 to Oracle 9.2.0.4(Using Existing Tables space)

Hi
I want to create tables & indexes on different tablespaces as planned. I have already created table spaces using OEM. (for a given schema different set of tables have to be created on diffrent tablespaces and so on)
But,it appears,"OMWB Table Space Discoverer" is not much of useful. It allows to specify one for tables, one for indexes and TEMP. Is there anyway I can 'discover' all the tablespaces from the target and assign the tables & indexes to various tablespaces as planned.
Any suggestions?

I was unable to reproduce your problem. I carried out the following steps in attempt to replicate the issue:
1. I launched the workbench, version 10.1.0.2, selecting the Oracle Lite "Default Repository".
2. Using the Oracle Enterprise Manager Console, I created a user "rtdb" with the password "rtdb" on my target Oracle 9i database.
3. I captured a test Informix database, generating its source and oracle models.
4. I then proceeded to migrate the database to Oracle and supplied my target Oracle9i database information in the "Migration Wizard, Step 1 of 4: Destination Database Details", supplying rtdb/rtdb as the username/password.
5. My test database migrated with no such error messages reported.
If you carried out the migration steps as I have outlined above, and are still experiencing issues with a "Failed to connect" error, I would contact support.

How to install Oracle Form and Report 6i on existing database

Hi all please help me,
My system is rhel 3 (update 6). My question is how can i install Oracle form and report 6i on my machine, which is already have database 10g R2? I known i have to create two separate ORACLE_HOME. Since i already had database 10g R2, can i just go head install Oracle form and report 6i on separate ORACLE_HOME? or i need to remove database 10g R2 first, and then install Oracle form and report 6i

How to reinstall Oracle 8i when I have an existing database

I used to have a perfectly working Oracle database installed on my domain. However, when I moved this computer physically to another location and try to make it a standalone, it did not work. After which tried to relocate back to the original location but encountered the following errors:
ORA-12500 TNS:listener failed to start a dedicated server process.
The Oracle Service when seen through the control panel shows Started.
However, i am just unable to logon to the database.
My question is : If I were to reinstall the Oracle, what are the steps that I should take such that my database will not be lost.
Have tried to do an export of the database but encountered the following error :
EXP-00056:ORACLE error 12560 encountered
ORA-12560:TNS:protocol adapter error
EXP-00000:Export terminated unsuccessfully

Create new Master Repository - oracle technology exist in logical topology

I have created a new master repository using the 'Create Master Repository' function in to an ORacle database user. This was all successful and I can sign in to topology manager as SUPERVISOR.
However I notice that the physical topology includes the 'oracle' technology in the list but this is NOT present in the logical topology.
When I import our models and projects that were developed elsewhere they fail becasue they are based on the oracle technology and this does not exist in the logical topology.
If I try to create the oracle technology or import it I get an error index violation on AK_TECHNO which is the index on the SNP_TECHNO table.
In the physical topology the oracle technology is shown as being both 'physical' and 'logical' (both check boxes are checked).
Any ideas ?

Turned off the hide unused technologoes and there they all are - including Oracle.................
So that explains why it appeared at some point before - once some data servers had been defined etc...........
I have my dataservers and schemas loaded now in the physical topology - but they are still not shoinwg in the logical topology - I think this is due to the data server in physical not being in the correct context. When I click the physical dataserver and go in to the contexts tab and choose global I get the error message (logical topology not configured for this context).

Installing support for Oracle Designer Objects in an existing repository

We have been using SCM to store Forms and other files
for our development work.
Now I want to use Repository Reports in the Repository
Object Navigator, this requires me to install support
for Oracle Designer Objects.
Can I use the Repository Administration Utility and
Install support for Oracle Designer Objects
without effecting the existing repository data?
(I've tried metalink but keep getting TCP Error
while logging the TAR).

Error while loadjava xmlparserv2.jar: ORA-04043: object oracle/xml/.. does not exist

In Oracle8i.15, I tried to install xmlparserv2.jar after I downloaded xdk_plsql_9_2_0_2_0.zip and upzip to local machine.
However, when I issued the follwoing command:
loadjava -v -r -user SYSTEM/manager -force xmlparserv2.jar
For each class, it has the following error message:

Do you mean you use 8.1.5? You can't directly load the xmlparserv2.jar to it.

Error on Undeploy: Application with name "crazy" does not exist.

I am working with Jdeveloper Studio Edition Version 11.1.1.6.0 Build JDEVADF_11.1.1.6.0_GENERIC_111205.1733.6192.
I have applications that run fine, however when I click on the undeploy, I get the error below. Please keep in mind that this is a simple sample application -- no security. Just one form with reading an HR schema table. Just a sample to try and figure out why I am getting this error. Any ideas?
1. I have deleted the system folder (repeatedly)
2. I deleted out my entire C:\Users\stuart\AppData\Local\Temp directory (someone mentioned this in another post)
3. Reinstalled Jdeveloper.

Thank you for your answer. I had not checked (will do so tonight).
I had considered it adequate to wipe out the entire system directory (thereby wiping out the integrated weblogic server), but perhaps it was not adequate? I did not specify that this is on the integrated server, but that is the case....

After update to 4.0 all repositories gone

After update to OS X Server 4.0 all repositories are missing. I can still see them on the disk but how can I add repositories from the server's drive? There is not option for this.

I noticed after I updated to 3.2.2, after 4.0 came out, that all my repositories had been removed from Xcode server even though the git repositories were still on disk at the same location as they always were. I eventually discovered that the location OS X Server / Server / Xcode Server stores the repository had changed. It was originally "/Library/Server/Xcode/Repositories" but after the update "/Library/Developer/XcodeServer/HostedRepositories" is where new repositories were being created. I'm pretty disappointed that it didn't either move the existing repositories during the update, or remember that the existing repositories were in the other location, rather than just making them inaccessible. I've moved the repositories to the new directory which has mostly worked Not too surprisingly though a subset of Xcode clients are now reporting peculiar git errors on some operations on newly checked out repos.

I installed Oracle application manager on top of existing server and I am not able to discover it in my Enterprise manager console how do I discover the oracle applications manager server and start it up and start using it.

Step I: Preparing for moving BOBJ application from Windows to AIX
There are some tasks that you need to perform:
To configure the existing deployment
Perform inventory and cleanup, to ensure that only the required content is moved.
Run the Repository Diagnostic Tool to detect any inconsistencies between the File Repository and the CMS repository. The upgrade management tool will not run successfully if there are inconsistencies between the File Repository and the CMS repository.
Identify any content that the upgrade management tool can't upgrade, along with the process required to upgrade that content. There is some content like Voyager Workspaces or Desktop Intelligence documents that require manual intervention before running the upgrade management tool.
Back up existing repositories, including the system database and the Input and Output File Repository Servers.
Back up custom web applications, HTML pages, and scripts in your existing deployment.
To configure the planned BI 4.x deployment
Setup and configure the Middleware and ODBC connections.
Ensure that your machines meet the deployment system's requirements, you can find information about the supported platforms in the Platform Availability Matrix (PAM) http://service.sap.com/support -> Help and Support -> SAP BusinessObjects Support -> Documentation -> Supported Platform s/PARs -> SAP BusinessObjects BI 4.x
Step II:
You can use database backup & FRS backup (Offline) in new environment (AIX) to deploy BOBJ 4.x Version
Take the help of DBA to move CMS & AUDIT database backup from SQL Server (Windows) to Oracle (AIX)
Test the Universe,reports, Check the rights
Step III:
If you are configured any SSO then make sure that same configuration is deployed in new environment (AIX).
Test the user SSO in new environment (AIX).
Or
You can also use Promotion manager to move the contenet from Windows (Business Objects Application) to UNIX (Business Objects Application)
Only prerequisite is Business Objects Application version should be same.
You can copy content only 50 Object at a time in One Job
FRS Offline backup is required.
Necessary files regarding custom web applications, HTML pages, and scripts in your existing deployment.
