[Oracle VM Manager 3.1.1] Unable to setup TCPS

Hello,
I'm trying the setup the TCPS protocol for Oracle VM Manager (OVMM) 3.1.1.
I used secureOvmmTcpGenKeyStore.sh to create a certificate and secureOvmmTcp.sh to setup OVMM.
However, when I start OVMM, I'm getting the following error and the TCPS protocol is not enabled:
:####<Jul 3, 2012 9:18:20 AM CEST> <Info> <com.oracle.odof.core.WorkflowManager> <ovmmanager.comunefaenza.local> <AdminServer> <[ACTIVE] ExecuteThread: '0' for queue: 'weblogic.kernel.Default (self-tuning)'> <<anonymous>> <> <0000JXBgyXBFw0WFLzePOA1FwdmX000002> <1341299900914> <BEA-000000> <Failed to start tcps service at port: 54322 message: java.security.NoSuchAlgorithmException: Error constructing implementation (algorithm: Default, provider: SunJSSE, class: com.sun.net.ssl.internal.ssl.DefaultSSLContextImpl)>
I checked the installation with
ovm_managercontrol -u admin -p XXX -h localhost -c keystoreinfo
whose output is:
Oracle VM Manager Control utility 0.5.2.
Manager version : 3.1.1.365
Connected.
Command : keystoreinfo
Key Store information :
Key Path : '/u01/app/oracle/ovm-manager-3/ovmmCoreTcps.ks'
The keystore ovmmCoreTcps.ks is there and is readable and writable for oracle:dba.
Any help will be appreciated.
Alessandro

I just did it a couple of weeks go in my system and it went pretty smooth. Are you running any firewall or have something that might be using the port used for tcps?

  • Unable to start Oracle Process Manager from the windows services for OBIEE

    Hi,
I have OBIEE 11g installed on a 32-bit windows machine. Of the two windows services installed, I am unable to start the Oracle Process Manager. When I try to start it I get the following error:
Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request  in a timely fashion.
At the back end, this service is calling the file opmn.exe which is placed at MIDDLEWAREHOME\Oracle_BI1\opmn\bin. On trying to execute this file the error we get is:
The procedure entry point longjmp could not be located in the dynamic link library orauts.dll
I have tried replacing the orauts.dll file, but to no avail.
Please let me know if you have any clue regarding what is to be done.
    Thanks
    Naman

    Hi Naman,
This error occurs for the following reasons,
*Path variable is not set properly
*Multiple Oracle homes exists in the same machine.
Follow the below steps and let me know if it works,
    1. Select My Computer -> Right Click -> Properties
    2. In the System Properties screen go to Advanced Tab
    3. Click on Environment Variables
    4. In the System Variables section select PATH variable & Click edit
    5. Now you will find that it will contain invalid directories. Remove the incorrect entries. This may happen when you have multiple oracle homes in the same machine
    6. Restart the service.

    Hi,
There is probably no much difference between the two.
The reason I have tried with 3.0.2 is that the minimun required RAM for installation is 4G.
With 3.1.1 it is 6 G, and I have a limitation in memory.
Or does someone know if it possible to perform the installation with less RAM that what is specified?
    Kind Regards.

  • Unable to access Oracle VM Manager from browser

    Hi,
I am unable to access the Oracle VM Manager from my browser at any of the url's e.g. /em; /OVS; /apex
I can connect to my server via putty, so I know the IP address that I am using is correct.
In the /var/ovm-manager/oc4j.log file I get the following message:
ERROR J2EE HTTP-00004 Internal error raised tyring to instantiate web-application: webapp defined in web site OC4J 10g (10.1.3) Default Web Site. Application: datatags does not exist. Error creating Web application: webapp
The oc4j service is running and the ovs-agent service is running but I cannot connect.
I am new to Oracle VM and Linux for that matter so it is entirely possible that something is not configured correctly somewhere
I'll appreciate it if anyone can assist
    Thanks

Try this command from the console or SSH to the server:
    service iptables stop
If you can then access the URLs you will need to modify iptables to allow port 8888
I think this is the command:
    iptables -I INPUT -p tcp --dport 8888 -j ACCEPT
    then:
    service iptables start
    Then try to connect again.

  • Unable to start Oracle Process manager (instance1) service.

When I try to start this service I get the following error in Event Manager:
Faulting application opmn.exe, version 11.0.0.0, time stamp 0x4ed8d1e8, faulting module yod.dll, version 6.0.6002.18541, time stamp 0x4ec3e855, exception code 0xc0000135, fault offset 0x00000000000b6fc8, process id 0x1ca4, application start time 0x01cd660277503c3a.
But if I try through the command prompt 'opmnctl start' it works just fine. The problem is now I have to stay logged into the machine, if I log out opmn shuts down.
This is happening on two servers we have this installed on. Windows Server 2008 (NOT R2) 24gb ram. Otherwise it is running just fine.
Very little help on google for this issue. Any help would be great.

Sorry if I was not clear on my issues, but it is when I try to start the windows service, (Oracle Process Manager (instance1), that I get this error in the Event Logs.
Does anyon know the difference between the commands for starting this service through Windows Services and 'opmnctl start'?
