Who can advise me if available any other option to upgrade OVServer version, like we update OVManager
without reinstalling.

10g2 Oracle HTTP Server - Upgrade PHP?

The new 10g2 Apache server comes with PHP 4.3.9 ready to go; however, I do not wish to use an older version, and want to upgrade it! Is this possible? When I try to disable it, I get all sorts of apache complaints about php being compiled wrong, or it just crashes!
It was very easy to add PHP to 10g's Apache server, so why did Oracle have to go playing around! :(
Any Ideas?
I would like to use the Zend Core, or PHP5 would be nice as well!

For some of us, due to the platform deployed on, zend core isn't an option. And since I've just begun investigating a migration out from under iPlanet 6.1 (likely using the same hardware so still on hp/ux) I am curious to know my options. Strangely enough Apache all by itself isn't on the TRM, so unless I start that approval process it isn't an option yet. Can PHP 5.1 be confgured under one of the Oracle servers (htmldb, 10g, etc.) and if so, being that we've paid up the internet license what is my best option not requiring massive code modification? I'm trying to take on oracle-php app and not sit it under the other campus-wide license of webspere (blasphemy).

Is their any way we can just upgrade the app server from 10.1.2 to 10.1.3 with uninstalling the older 10.1.2 and reinstalling 10.1.3 ?

No and yes. Please note that 10.1.2 is a full release and 10.1.3 is a Java only release, i.e. no Portal, Forms, Reports, Discoverer, Web Cache etc.

I want to upgrade my OS from official repository on Primary and Standby Servers. And I have a question:
Will I have a problem with my RDBMS after upgrade OS (e.g. statuses in dba_registry will become INVALID)?

First time upgrading Oracle Apps Server. So not that familiar in this area.
1. Step 6.1.2 in Oracle Application Server Patch Set Notes it says 
If you are applying 10g Release 3 (10.1.3) Patch Set 5 (10.1.3.5.0) to a 10g Release 3 (10.1.3.0.0) Oracle home and your system uses Enterprise Javabeans 3.0 applications, then you must undeploy your applications before applying the patch 
When I try to start Application Server Control I get the following error, please advice

It seems like you are upgrading E-Business Suite . If thats the case its better post the problem in Ebiz forum. Also post the document id you are following, your app and db release, OS release. We do not deploy J2EE applications on Ebiz Tech Stack app server. So un-deployment should not be applicable here.

If you're worried about messing up other software, why not download the SQL Developer bundled with the JDK? It resides inside the SQLDeveloper folder and to my knowledge it won't interfere with any of your other JDK installs.
You'll want to put newer installs of SQL Developer in their own folder, and not in the existing SQL Developer Folder.

Hi Sachin,
If you are indeed running Oracle (Web) Application Server 4.0.8.2 or similar, the best way to upgrade will depend on what applications that you are running.
There are upgrade guides from Oracle (Web) Application Server to Oracle Internet Application Server 1.0 as well as guides from 8i to 9i and 10g avaliable under documentation here at OTN.
The latest version avaliable right now is 10.1.2.0.2. It might make sense to go to 10.1.2.0.2 than to 9.0.4 at this time.

Upgrade from 11.2.0.1.2 to 11.2.0.3.0 without changing Oracle DB Server

I want to upgrade to the latest version of ODAC, but I am concerned for two reasons:
1. I am not sure if it will require that the Oracle database server be updated
2. I am not sure if it will negatively affect other applications on the same windows box running the older version of the DLLs
Can anyone alleviate my concerns about this? It really sucks not being able to use Entity Framework because the old DLL didn't implement IServiceProvider.

2) ODP.NET is designed to allow multiple versions on the same machine. Each version needs to be in its own Oracle home. We do install policy DLLs so you should remove them from the GAC if you do not wish older apps to pick up the new ODP.NET. There is some discussion of this in the ODP.NET online help with some additional information about using .net config files to achieve the same thing.

Upgradation to Oracle App Server 10.1.2.3

Our application was developed using JDev Build 1929. It was working fine.
We upgraded to JDev 10.1.2.3.0 Build 1936. The application was still working fine.
But recently we upgraded our application server patches from OAS 10.1.2.2 to OAS 10.1.2.3 patches.
After this upgrade, our application performance was worst. We increased our memory allocation to 3 GB. Even after that the performance was not good.
When we read the bug list for the Oracle Application Server 10.1.2.3, we found the following bug fix:
5473620 JDBC connection pool with limit on
maximum number of connections possible, if the AMs are not released
Does this mean that the JDBC Connection pool will not prvide any DB connection to the Application Module Pool if many application modules are not relased?
Can any one please explain the full description of the bug? Does that this bug fix affect the behaviour of the connection pool or the application module pool?
We are facing a major problem in our production. Pls help.

In your case I suggest to open a SR with Oracle Support. I am sure you have support if you experience major problems and are using the software in production.

Upgrade Oracle http server for last servlet function

Currently i use Oracle http server with servlet.
It seems that my version with jsdk.jar file don't support EncodeUrl function and web.xml file.
How can i upgrade my server ?
I have tried to replace jsdk.jar file with servlet22.jar file but without results !
Where can i found more information ?

That´s right, the OHS was installed with the Fusion Middleware Web Utilities installation and working fine !
The Apex application is online without problems.
Now, my challenge is to implement the security certificate (SSL) on OHS.
I´ve been read many things but I´m a little confused and looking for a specific documentation to do that.
The certificate was generated and got the especific files ( .cer / .crt / .key ) but the problem is how to configure.
Is it necessary to install another software ?
Is wallet manager must be used or just configure some files like ssl.conf ?

To upgrade your Oracle VM Server, you must upgrade the Oracle VM Manager first to the dedicated version and then upgrade Oracle VM Server also using Oracle VM Manager using the yum repository or by using the CD.
In this case: upgrade your Oracle VM Manager from the version 3.2.1 to the latest version and then upgrade Oracle VM Server from the version to the latest version.
Note: Oracle VM Manager and Server should have the same version.

Oracle Application Server 4.0.8.2 upgrade JDBC driver how ?

What I did was I replace the following classes12.zip (thid JDBC driver is from Jdeveloper library folder) file into OAS home directory under jdbc/lib and change the following env variables in OAS.
Lastly, tested out 2 simple servlet program
1) No Connection pooling (simple query)
2) With Connection Pooling (only JDBC 2 has this features)
both the servlet fail to display and throw me an error "An Application has occured error ..."
with the old classes111.zip it works fine not after I replaced the new JDBC 2 driver.

Installation problem in Oracle Content Server 10g

Hi,
I am trying to install 'ORACLE CONTENT SERVER 10g', as a part of this trying to click on 'Installer.exe' in '/win32'. When i click this installer.exe, it is prompting one COMMAND PROMPT SCREEN and it is disappearing soon. In fact it was suppose to ask language preference as per installation guide.
Dont know how to resolve this issue. please help me out.

Installation Problem about ORACLE HTTP SERVER 10g

I tried to install oracle http server on windows xp sp2. Everthing was all right until
it made some recommend tasks while installing. It could'nt start the http server at there. I completed the installation. After then when i connect to the internet and try to start http server it starts. But when i do not connect to the internet it gives an error like apache.exe couldn't start on executing ApacheModuleonsinst.dll. I want to learn what causes to this problem.
