Oracle web tier install+config: opmn does not start after install

Centos 5 box.
After a silent install of web tier 11.1.1.2 opmn will not start. The installation was "complete" but I found some errors in the various log files.
When I try to start a process (for example) using opmn this error occurs in the log file:

Command line says unexpected error, code 512 or something to that effect. The given wallet directory is empty.

The configuration of completed successfully.
Checking a screen shot of someone else's configure output theirs continues beyond
"Bootstrapping OPMN configuration files..."
and correctly generates the instance etc.
I have tried a reinstall, and also tried a generate a new instance using the silent config tool. Same errors each time.
Log also states;
Oracle Instance Home
                        Instance Home Size: 0 MB (or 40mb)
                        Available: 0 MB
. This varies between installs and configs but available is always 0. There is Gb's of space available in the directory and the user has write permissions.
Can anyone tell me why it is failing to correctly generate the wallet?

Solved. Oracle_home and Instance home must be subdirectories of MIDDLEWARE_HOME. MIDDLEWARE HOME and command to not install updates must be added to response file. Helpful to install and configure separately.

Apache does not start after installing the policy web agent

Hi,
We get the following error when we start the apache webserver on linux which has opensso policy agent installed/configured to it.

Environment:
OS: Linux SystemName 2.6.9-42.ELsmp #1 SMP Wed Jul 12 23:27:17 EDT 2006 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux (32 bit)

Could not find the issue/solution for this problem on internet... Please suggest if anyone has some solution to this.

Once I had an iAS 1.0.2.2 running without problems. However after installing Patch 7 for Forms (released 27 august 2001) I get exactly the same error messages as Pieter. I have tried starting apache as administrator, comment out mod_ose, set wv_gateway_cfg, but none seem to work. Please help.

You haven't indicated if you have tried multiple DVD/CD's or just the one. Look under the "Apple > About This Mac > More Info.. > Disk Burning " do you see the Superdrive? If the system recognizes it but it doesn't work try a
SMC RESET

Unplug the computer's power cord and ALL peripherals.
Wait 15 seconds.
Attach the computers power cable.
Wait another 5 seconds and press the power button to turn on the computer.
The 5 second timing is important to a successful reset.

InDesign does not start after installing it first time due to missing plug ins ("Zusatzmodule")

I was using up to now InDesign CS3, but I bought the upgrade to InDesign CS 6.
After installing the new version I tried to start it, but during the start it complains about missing plugins and stops.
So, I can not run CS 6.
The missing modules are: SVG Export.apln and Dynamicdosuments.rpln.
What can I do to make CS 6 running?

I have to admit, that unfortunately I dont understand the reply. I was uninstalling, running the Adobe CS cleaner tool for CS 6, reinstalling (as suggested in other entryies of the forum). No improvement.
Question A: Do I have to run the cleaner tool for all CS including CS 3? I am a bit afraid of side effects and have nothing running afterwards. Since nobody confirmed in the forum that this will help I dont dare to play around.
Question B: Coming back to your proposal, what do you mean by proper admin privileges? I am the only user on this laptop and never did something to any admin configurations.
Finally, I installed CS 6 on another laptop. This works. However, this one I dont want or can't work with for other reasons.

Macbook does not start after installing Leopard

I installed/upgraded to Leopard but had to cancel it despite the warning that the machine maz not be able to start up again. Hours later i started the mac again and the installation programe came on immedialtey. Installation was completed but on the restart it gets stuck. If you bought your RAM at a place that also sells PC RAM you may have gotten mislabelled RAM. PCs can handle different RAM speeds so they’ll often label higher speed RAM as a lower speed rather than make two different speeds of RAM. But Macs are much more picky. They require a RAM stick to be exactly 667mhz not 675mhz or 800mhz. The way to tell is to put one of your old RAM sticks in and it will force the new RAM to run at the correct speed.
This is from one review of PNY RAM:
"These modules are actually 800Mhz. PNY no longer makes or sells 667Mhz modules. Not all computers that require 667Mhz are compatible with 2 800Mhz modules. They refuse to down clock properly. This is especially true with a number of Core 2 Duo MacBooks. Spoke to PNY support, they flat out told me that yes, they sell 800Mhz modules in 667Mhz packaging. If you RMA a module that is 667Mhz (or supposed to be 667Mhz) they will replace it with an 800Mhz module as they no longer have any 667Mhz SODIMMs, not even for RMA replacement!"

Ok i bought a second hand MacBook from early 2009 and planned to use it to record songs in a small home studio using GarageBand, Live and protools, it came with 2gigs Of RAM and i tought i should take it up to 4 -the max it can handle- so i bought 2 2gigs a-data RAM sticks i took the factory ones out and put the new ones in but no way the "on/off" light turns on but nothing happens, no sound black screen, if i combine the factory ones and the new Inés whatever the order it works and i get 3 gigs combined but it just Won't Work with the 2 2gig ones in… the 4 are ddr2 working At 667mhz as i checked in the 'about this Mac > more options' what can i do… help! :(

Does your iTunes Hang or Does Not Start after install??

Instead of disabling or turning off ViruScan, Firewalls or Internet Security programs... go to the program's home site and look for way to add iTunes to exception list to run.
In my case I run Symantec Internet Security 2005. I went to Symantec Site, searched for iTunes and found the following link.

I then added iTunes to the exceptions list for my Personal Firewall.... voila.. iTunes works now no problemo.

JAVA_HOME is set to "/opt/java" in /etc/profile.d/jdk.sh. If you just installed the jdk, the behavior you're describing is expected as JAVA_HOME hasn't been exported.
Try logging out and then logging back in.

I have Oracle 9i release 2 installed on Unix HP box if system restart in case of power failure the Oracle service, Listener and http server does not start automatically, is there any ready reference available to check what's wrong is happening(I don't have knowledge of Unix).

You don’t install VS2010 on the client PC, then where did the Form Invoice not work? When you run it from another version of VS? Or when you run the application with application.exe?
Based on your description, one form works well, another form does not. I assume that two forms are in two different projects, then please check the .Net Framework used by the two projects. If they are different, you can use the
one used by the Form contact for Form Invoice.
Because this issue is a project issue, I recommend you to consult it on some application forum such as Windows Forms General forum for better support.

RAC does not start after trying to move storage

We have a two nodes RAC Oracle 10g and ASM groups defined on one external storage.
RAC does not start after we reformated the storage to RAID 10.
What we did:
1) deleted the database
2) reformated the external storage to RAID 10 and defined needed volumes for OCR, VotingDisk and ASM
3) on both nodes
- recreated VotingDisk
node1:root$ /u01/oracle/product/10gr2/crs/bin/crsctl add css votedisk /dev/rdsk/c0t600A0B8000347E7D00000EE74A5AF386d0s3 -force
Now formatting voting disk: /dev/rdsk/c0t600A0B8000347E7D00000EE74A5AF386d0s3

Problem is that the RAC is not healty, I know how to start it but now it doesn't start and I cannot find helpful logs.
You can see that cluster is not healty from cluvfy output.
When I tried to start crs whith crsctl start crs but:
- on node2 none of the demons starts (CSS, CRS or EVM)
- on node1 CSS and EVM demons start but CRS is not starting and I cannot find helpful logs
