Oracle Workflow is Down in R12.1.3

Dear Legends,
I'm facing this issue very first time in Oracle Apps R12.1.3 64 bit Linux Environment.
Navigation : SystemAdministrator ->Oracle Applications Manager -> workflow and i am seeing that all application components are down.
Notification Mailers          Down Down           Background Engines          Down Down
     Agent Listeners          Down Down           Purge          Down Down
     Service Components          Down Down           Control Queue Cleanup          Down Down
Please help me to bring this UP.

KarthikYou are right. And, to confirm this you can try to view any concurrent request log/output file from the application.
Do you have proper entry in the hosts file? -- R11i: adalnctl.sh fails to startup a cloned Instance - LSNRCTL shows 'Connection refused' [ID 1355564.1]
Please post the contents fo the hosts file here along with the application listener.ora file.

Oracle Workflow Monitor

I've seen plenty of references to Oracle Workflow Monitor, but I've never paid much attention. Yesterday I got an error message from Control Center that instructed me to use Oracle Workflow Monitor to solve my problem (a process was running and needed to be shut down before regenerating).
But how to I use Oracle Workflow Monitor? Is it installed by default when OWF was initially installed with OWB? What URL do I use access it? If it does not run after the conventional OWB install, is there a How-To document available for configuring it?
To be clear, OWF seems to be set up and working. I have created and run process flows successfully. I've just experienced a weird problem that Control Center cannot seem to handle -- and I'm looking for answers. Frankly, I'm mystified at the lack of information on Oracle Workflow Monitor given that OWB error messages reference it and plenty of people seem to discuss it in technical forums.

We are using OWB 11 on Oracle 11, but I'm going to press on and ask our DBA to install the OWF mid-tier components from the 10g Companioin CD. I don't think workflow has changed and so I'm hopeful.
(If anybody has experience, please chime in for the record.)

Oracle Workflow Vs Microsoft SharePoint Workflow

Hi All,
We are in a process of deciding technology required for implementing Workflow System in our application.
we have two option 1) Oracle Workflow 2) Microsoft Sharepoint's workflow.
I know how oracle workflow work and how to implement that in our system but have no idea how Microsoft sharepoint's workflow works and what are the advantage of using one over another.
I would like to request u all who knows about this to let me know with all the information you have on this topic.

Not heard much about share point.
Having gone through a similar process I chose Workflow over a MS solution for the following reasons, I however compared with Biz Talk :
Workflow is free (given that you are using Oracle already). Further it works with the standard editions so my pricing can be scaled to that of my client. If they are small they can use standard One if they are bigger Standard, Huge Enterprise.
Microsoft, although I love .NET, for things like collaboration tend to have a 'bite me' approach to comunicating with other systems. I like Workflow and AQ intergration because I can intergrate to anything without having to buy adaptors (well more or less).
It cuts down on disperate systems, I was keen to avoid having Presentation, ETL, Workflow etc etc managed by different systems. My solution is MS Presntation and Oracle Business Logic( ie PL\SQL and Workflow)
If I have a unix box it is the same as having an NT box for running Oracle including workflow. Gives my clients options.
Cost was the big factor for me. Whatever I have to pay in licences is passed onto my clients which reduces the strenght of my product offering.
Workflow however misses the mark in hiding complexity from the end user. With training and procedures I am sure we can counter this however I dare say that the MS Solution will allow you a great flexibity over the client VBA ect.

Oracle WorkFlow not receiving responce from Notified Approver

Hi,
I have designed custom workflow for approval process in OM Oracle Apps. The workflow could able to send the notifications to the respective approver roles. And the approver getting notification and the 'APPROVED' the same, but the response is not reaching to the workflow engine I guess. When I go and check the workflow status for that order in OM the workflow process till the Notification sent, and it says notified to the assigned person. Even though approver approved the rest of the process not getting completed.
Please let me know what could be the issue, would appreciate your response as I could not move forward.

Please post the details of the application release, database version and OS.
The best start point is to get the number of one of those notifications and then run
sqlplus apps/<passwd> @$FND_TOP/sql/wfmlrdbg.sql <notif #>
It will generate a HTML file that you can check to see the details of the roles associated to the notification, as well as the notification attributes that are involved in the e-mail processing.
You may also check on the following :

- Query the wf_users and verify/check on the values of notification_preference column.

Oracle Workflow Manager not working

hi
I have a problem concerning Oracle Workflow Manager.
When I access Oracle Workflow Manager,all workflow system are down e.g (Notification Mailers,Agent Listeners,Service Components,Background Engines,Purge and Control Queue Cleanup).
I tried several alternatives but was not successful.
I really need your help because we are going life in 2 weeks time?

How to Upgrade Workflow from 11i to R12

Hi,
We are upgrading our Oracle Application environment from 11.5.9 to R12. Currently we are using iExpense and PO Approval workflows. After doing upgrade in development environment, I expected to see workflow files being overwritten by R12 standard workflow processes. However I found my custom workflow processes in upgraded R12 environment. Does anybody has any documentation which can help me to understand what should I expect and how do I upgrade my customized workflow processes?

How to invoke Oracle Workflow software

I have successfully installed Oracle Workflow software in my mac laptop. Don't know how to invoke the software.
Getting the following exception.

I had never tried to install that, I prefer that DB to be down, since there may be some thing which requires the DB should be down if at all needed to apply or change any objects the servive might started or DB is started by installation application it self.
Let us wait for comments from others based on there comment you can proceed further.!!

Is Oracle Workflow Server 2.6 available for Linux as a
standalone product against an Oracle 8.1.7 database?
Oracle Workflow does not seem to be included in the Integration
Server option with the 8.1.7 installation.
I've only found the Oracle Workflow Server included with the 9i
database. Will this work with 8.1.7 as well or does it require
9i db?

Issue in notification API for oracle workflow

Hi,
I am facing issue in sending oracle workflow notification. i have created a simple workflow with a process.
I wrote one package which is creating adhoc role and sending the notification through api I(wf_notification.send).
I am able to get the notification as well as email notification but without attribute values. My workflow attributes are getting replaced by null, but message body is appearing.
Please help me, its urgent.

I doubt that Oracle 7 DB is not supported. You may consider raising a SR with support.

One of our customer wants to migrate Oracle Workflow 2.6.4 from http server to WLS server and they are following the this blog :

Custom Workflow using Oracle Workflow in ContentDB

Having registered custom workflows for Content DB via Enterprise Manager, potentially you can use any tool capable of dequeuing/enqueing messages from the IFS_BPEL_OUT/IFS_BPEL_IN advanced queues as part of a custom workflow process.
By default, we assume you are using Oracle BPEL PM with its Advanced Queue adapater to process the queue messages. However, there is nothing stopping using Oracle Workflow or any tool for that matter.
HOWEVER!!! Warning!!! There is a high probability that Content DB will drop the bundled Oracle Worflow installation in the near future. What this means, is that you should consider installing/configure/patching your own separate Oracle Workflow installation and not rely on the bundled Content DB solution which is used internally for Serial and Parallel Approval workflows.
