Oracle workflow versions

Hi,
could you please tell me what are the software requirements to work with workflow. (both stand alone and embedded versions)
I would like to know whether Oracle 11i applications, oracle 9iAS, oracle apps are required to work with workflow or is it enough if we just install oracle 9i database.
Regards

Hi,
Oracle Workflow standalone 2.6.2 is shipped with Oracle 9i. You do not need any other software for workflow. It comes embedded with Oracle Applications.
Cheers,
Raja

  • Which Oracle Workflow version required for Oracle Warehouse Builder 92

    Hi,
I have Oracle Database 9i and OWB 9.2. I want to install Oracle Workflow, which version is required for OWB 9.2.
Help required from anybody in this matter.
    Thanks
    Liyakat

    Goodmorning Liyakat,
Simply get the latest version, 2.6.3 that is for my platform.
There's an interesting and informative document on that on Mark Rittman's site, check the following link: http://www.rittman.net/archives/000770.html

  • Oracle Workflow version

I intend to use process flows in OWB 10.2.0.5 (with Oracle Database 9.2) and in OWB 11.1 (with Oracle database 11.1). I'm having difficulties to find the appropriate versions of Oracle Workflow I should install in each case.
Does anyone know where can I find this?

    Hi Luciene,
according [Workflow Administrator Guide|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/workflow.102/b15852/T319398T319402.htm#2298752] it is possible to install (create WF repository) Workflow server 2.6.4 (or 2.6.3) into Oracle8iR3 (8.1.7) and higher.
But I think you need to install Oracle Database 10gR2, because OWF 2.6.4 requires existing 10gR2 Oracle Home.
I think it is possible to install requried components (Oracle Database 10gR2 and OWF server 2.6.4) into different server/computer and then you can create WF repository in your 9.2 Oracle database remotely. I think it is possible to uninstal Oracle Database 10gR2 and OWF server after creating WF repository.
I have never installed 2.6.3/2.6.4 workflow into into 9.2 database so you need to check possibility of installation of 2.6.4 workflow into 9.2 database

  • URGENT: Oracle Workflow Error: API-10020 on Creation of OWB Process Flows

I am trying to use Oracle Workflow to create Process Flows, in order to link together various mappings and components in Oracle Warehouse Builder. However, in the process flow editor window when I attempt to drag an object such as a mapping onto the editor panel, I get an error message stating the below:
API-10020: Unable to determine if the map is a PLSQL or SQLLDR map, please correct the map or choose another map.
All my maps are in PLSQL, and the language setting is set to this. I have tried modifying the langauge settings to see if it makes a difference but with no luck. My colleague believes this is a known bug in Oracle Workflow and there is a patch available to correct it.
Can anyone help with this query please? Thank you for your time.

In some versions of OWB (10.1, 10.2) The mapping property will display PL/SQL, but will actually be set to NULL in the repository (which will cause PL/SQL to be displayed as default).
The fix is easy enough: in the developer navigator, right-click on the mapping and go to configure and set the generation language first to something other then PL/SQL (you should get an error) and then place it back to PL/SQL. This should force the GUI to reset the parameter.
    Alternatively, use OMB*Plus:
OMBALTER MAPPING 'MAPPINGNAME' SET PROPERTIES \
    (GENERATION_LANGUAGE) VALUES ('PLSQL');

  • Oracle Workflow Manager, Agent Listener, and Java Mailer problem

    Hi,
I am not sure this topic to this forum, since this might be installation issue.
But I am hitting a big wall.
    I had Windows 2000 SP4.
I have already installed Oracle Database 10gR1, Oracle Developer 10gR2, and Oracle Workflow 2.6.3 Standalone previously.
    Including :
    - Oracle Workflow Server 2.6.3
    - Oracle Workflow Builder 2.6.3.5
    - Apache HTTP Server 9.0.4
    - Workflow Middle Tier
Anything seems to right, including the Notification Mailer and the Business Event.
And I had also made backup of them surely.
    Now,
I'd like to change into Oracle Database 10gR2 because :
    1. Some errors I found when I tried to call a Report from Oracle Form.
Unable to connect to Report Server ...
I thought Oracle Database 10gR1 is not suitable for Oracle Developer 10gR2.
    2. And in the OWF 2.6.3 Workflow Home Page, there was no Logout button (which I found in OWF 2.6.4)
I removed my previous installation including Oracle Workflow.
After strugglineg in the installation of Oracle Database 10gR2, now I am facing another problem with Oracle Workflow.
I succesfully installed Oracle Workflow 2.6.4 Server and Oracle Workflow Manager (standalone version),
and the Oracle Workflow Middle Tier.
After I launch Oracle Workflow Configuration Assisstant, everthing seems to be normal.
I succed to open the Oracle Workflow Home Page (and found the Logout button there)
Next, I tried to navigate to the Oracle Workflow Manager.
    1. I start the OC4J_Workflow_Management_Container --> initialized
    2. OC4J_Workflow_Component_Container
The following error line appeared in the OC4J command prompt
    06/05/26 10:31:40 LOG_ID_UNKNOWN : oracle.apps.fnd.cp.gsc.Logger.Logger(String,
int) : Logging to System.out until necessary parameters are retrieved for Logger

    06/05/26 10:33:57 Oracle Application Server Containers for J2EE 10g (9.0.4.1.0)
    initialized
    3. finally it initialized
Next I tried to go to Oracle Workflow Manager from related link of Enterprise Manager
It is said that the OWF_MGR is locked
(I surprised since I had UNLOCKED the OWF_MGR after the installation and succeed to login at the Workflow Home Page)
And the following error line appeared in the commaned prompt after that
06/05/26 10:35:03 OrionCMTConnection not closed, check your code!
06/05/26 10:35:03 Logical connection not closed, check your code!
06/05/26 10:35:03 (Use -Djdbc.connection.debug=true to find out where the leaked
    connection was created)
    4. I re-UNLOCK the OWF_MGR and login to Oracle Workflow Manager
I noticed that the Agent Listener and Notification Service is Unavailable
(In OWF 2.6.3, The Agent Listener was started and Notification Service was waiting to be configured)
I tried to start one of the Agent Listener, but the following error appeared
ERROR: The Service Component Container is not running
Well, I had the same problem when installing the OWF 2.6.3
I tried to uninstall (remove) and re-install it like I had done before in OWF 2.6.3
(based on someone's post in Oracle's forum)
But this time, the re-installation won't fix this problem. (It was succeed in the OWF 2.6.3)
    Everytime I start the OC4J, using wfmgrstart.bat and wfsvcstart.bat
    the OWF_MGR is re-LOCKED(TIME) automatically.
And the servlet (WFALSNRSVC and WFMLRSVC) are not running.
I am worry, since I cannot use the Notification Mailer if this problem had not fixed yet.
(In OWF 2.6.3, the mailer was not available until those servlet is Started)
    Sorry for the long post.
    Any help would be grateful.
    Many thanks,
    Buntoro

    Hi,
Finally, I have found the solution.
    Step :
    1. Start all of the Oracle Service, except for the OC4J
If you have already started OC4J, then stop them
    Unlocked the <wf_manager_user>
    2. Search in your Oracle Home : data-sources.xml
    There should be two files,
    one is in the ...\OC4J_Workflow_Component_Container\application-deployments\WFALSNRSVCApp
    the other is in ...\OC4J_Workflow_Component_Container\application-deployments\WFMLRSVCApp
    3. Make sure, you create back up of them.
    4. Replace the following line
    password="-&gt;pwForOwfMgr"
    with
    password="<your_wf_manager_password>",
    should be look like this
    password="a"
    5. Now start the OC4J using wfmgrstart.bat and wfsvcstart.bat
    6. Next, login to the Oracle Workflow Manager
    This worked for me.
Hope this will help someone who has the same problem.

  • Oracle Workflow Builder and Oracle 9i

The Oracle 9i Client CD does not include the Workflow Builder and MAPI Mailer, however the Oracle 9i Server CD NT does under the Client Component option.
Customers on other platforms need access to the builder, so patch 2053572 has been released to remedy this situation.
Customers should not install any other version of the Oracle Workflow Builder into a 9i Oracle Home. Previous releases of the Workflow require and 8i Oracle Home.
See Metalink Note 161304.1 for more details.

Got around the error by not running the installer (setup.exe) that came with the workflow code tree. I ran my Oracle Installer and pointed it at the appropriate place in the workflow code tree, and that worked. The Net8 Config Assistant setup process didn't complete, but I just copied my 9i tnsnames.ora file into the workflow network\admin directory and everything worked fine.

Oracle Workflow is only available as a component of EBS. It has never been available on, and is not certified for Oracle 11g, nor any version of XE.

  • Plan to Migration from Collab 9.0.4  to  10.1.2 and include Oracle Workflow

We are running Linux AS RedHat 3, and collaboration suite 9.0.4:
We have 3 servers - one for storage, one for midtier and one for infrastructure.
The midtier has Oracle Mail and Calendar running. In addition, it has Oracle Files configured but not being used.
We plan to upgrade to 10.1.2. But we plan to implement Oracle Files (Content services) with Oracle Workflow.
What is the upgrade path? Should I install and configure Oracle Workflow in version 9.0.4 first and then upgrade to 10.1.2 ? or can I install and configure Oracle Workflow in 10.1.2 afterwards?

You could do both, as workflow can be installed separately but I would advise to look into BPEL in order to substitue workflow. Have a look at http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/cs/developer/contentservicesdev/contenservicesdevkit.html

  • OWB 11g2 & Oracle Workflow

    Hi all,
We are trying Warehouse Builder 11g2 and also database 11g2. He have seen it works fine, but we algo have seen that Oracle Workflow it is not supported in this database version, and from Oracle recomends using BPEL.
Is this true? What will we have to install? The way of develop is the same with BPEL?
    Thanks in advance

Is this true? What will we have to install? The way of develop is the same with BPEL?As I know OWB11gR2 doesnt support direct deployment processflows to BPEL.
Oracle Workflow server supplied with Oracle database 11g R2 (it installed with OWB, directory for WF is ORADB_HOME/owb/wf).
If you used Workflow monitor you can install it from Oracle database 10g R2 CD.

  • Oracle Workflow Internal Forced termination Error

We will appreciate if anyone can be of assistance in helping us with a problem we are experiencing with Oracle Workflow.
We have an Oracle Workflow Task which has several activities.
This exact version of the Workflow works in 2 other environments, with the exception of the current environment where we are experiencing the issue described below.
    1.     The Oracle Workflow Task is submitted via the Oracle Workflow monitor: Launch Processes
    2.     The Task terminates internally immediately after submission ***
    3.     The report result status on the first activity indicates “Force”
    4.     The overall Workflow reports result status indicates “Failure”
    5.     The first activity normally executes for 12 minutes before executing the next activity, we can see the process executing on the database level (Performing database steps as expected – logging to an audit table 6 times)
    6. The follow on activity never gets executed.
We believe that this is an environment issue. Out application stack is:
    1.     Oracle Database 9.2.0.5
    2.     Oracle Workflow 2.6.2
    3.     Oracle warehouse builder 10g R2
Thanks for any help in resulving this.

    Hi,
We have just had a similar problem, also when trying to deploy a process flow module.
After investigating the contents of the WF_ITEM_TYPES table we noticed that an entry allready existed with the same Name as the Process Flow Module that we were trying to deploy.
To fix this we simply renamed the Mapping and reran the deployment, with sucess.
We belive that a previous failed deployment of the Process Flow Module (due to a missing language), left the Database in an inconsistent state, renaming the flow meant that the PK was no longer broken, however the half finished deployment has probably left further rubish in the system.... we will see :-)
