Oracle XE Forum

I've been attempting to register for the Oracle XE Forum for two days and am having a critical failure with this product. I had to create an alternate account because my normal account has a defunct email that I can't fix...
short aside: PLEASE FIX THIS!!!!!!!! I BEG YOU!!!!!
Ahem, sorry for that, anyway, I've attempted to create new accounts but I never receive an authorization email. I do receive a "profile change" notification to the address on my new account, but when I click the "click here" it takes me back to my old account's profile. So it seems no matter what I do everything keeps cross-linking back to my old account which internally has the wrong email address.
I've tried different browsers (I normally use IE, but tried FireFox and Maxthon as well with similar results. I just want to get to this forum, which I'm not even certain why its protected anyway since the software is freely downloadable by anyone that cares to see this content.
Help is greatly appreciated.

Oracle Forms 10g is 9.0.4 internally. It is shipped with Oracle Application Server 10g and Oracle Developer Suite 10g (9.0.4). To develop and test Forms applications you need the Forms Developer Suite. For runtime during production you need Oracle Application Server.
Oracle Application Server 10.1.2.0.0 is a Java, BI and and Portal edition. Forms and Reports will be in 10.1.2.0.2, aka 10g R2, which is not out yet. Components in this stack are the "real" version 10.
You will be able to use Oracle9i database with Forms 10.1.2. To avoid conflicts, make sure the developer software gets installed in its own Oracle Home so, not to interfere with database files.

As a beginner to Oracle which Forum should I follow ?

Let me post my question again. I just bought
the Learner's CD to Oracle9i. I intend to install
Oracle Personal Edition. I am new to Oracle, but
not new to Programming. I have beeen a programmer
for 22 years, knowing many languages, many platforms.
I recently learned Java, using Books, The SUN Site,
Installed the Java compiler & use it iteratively.
I also found the SUN's beginner Java Forum extremely
useful. Every question I have, the Forum replied to,
which speed up my learning.
What would be the equivalent of the SUN Java Beginner's
Forum in --- Oracle. Which Forum in Oracle should I
follow and post beginner's questions to ?

WWC-43176 when register Oracle Discussion Forum Portlet.

Hi,
i want to install the Oracle Discussion Forum Portlet in our Oracle iAS 10.1.2.0.0.
My Problem is that all went fine until i want to register the Forum Portlet. I get WWC-43176 Error: The provider URL specified may be wrong or the provider is not running, but i did not belive this error message.
Have anyone sucessfully done this on this iAS Version? When yes how did you get this to work.
Any help will be nice.

Have you tried searching this forum for a similar issue. If i am not wrong there a lot of threads discussing the installation issues of the discussion forum portlet. I will let you know if i come across any information.

Oracle mapviewer forum - general question

If I google using string 'oracle spatial forum' it will list spatial forum in first page.
If I google using string 'oracle mapviewer forum' it will not list mapviewer forum. Why?

That question should probably be directed at Google since they control what appears where in the search results.
The Mapviewer forum probably appears lower down the list as it is newer. The Oracle Spatial forum has been around for years - the fledgling MapViewer forum is only a few weeks old. Give it some time and I'm sure it'll get promoted.

Oracle 11g forums

hi...experts...actually am nt able to get "TOOLTIP" option for a heirarchical tree item( SPECIALLY IN ORACLE 11G FORMS)..so..can you help me out ..

It's an old forum that's not used anymore. It was before Oracle acquired WLS, and the plan at the time was for OC4J to be used with JDeveloper 11g. You can ignore the forum.

Oracle Jive Forum Viewer Portlet problem in Firefox

Has anyone used the Oracle-provided JIVE Forum Viewer portlet? We have built one with the personalization function enabled, so users can go to the personalize page to select the forum they want to view in the portlet.
Everything works fine now, except that the tree menu to display all the categories and forums on the personalization page does not display or respond to mouse clicks correctly in Firefox. But if you right-click in the region of the tree menu, everything will just become fine.
We wonder if anybody can help us to identify the problem and fix it. Thank you in advance!

Oracle Utilities forum was archived and now users are lost

I really hope a forum admin reads this!
Oracle Utilities was a very active forum and for some reason was archived and now users can't post there. Consequently Users are now posting Utilities-related questions in random places and they are not getting any replies. e.g. in the Insurance place.
@admin: can you make sure a new group is created?

Can Oracle Discussion Forum be sort by Replies.

I wonder if somebody knows a way to parse into the Forums URL a way to sort by Replies. Supposed to be a way to help people on common questions, but how can this be done if there are some posts that nobody can see or they have "0" answer. It's kind of hard to browse all the forums looking for posts with "0" Replies.
Just something to keep in mind in order to make all this better !!!
