Oracle XE limited to less than 20 users?

Hello, it is true that XE is optimized to work with a lower limit to 20 users?
If this is true, if the parameter increased in 60 sessions, slow performance?
XE need to configure it to allow users to connect to 60.

XE need to configure it to allow users to connect to 60.When you install XE, there are a number of parameters set that are for the default install. As an administrator, you are expected to make changes to the initialization parameters to meet your needs.
Changing XE initialization parameters is done in exactly the same way as any other edition of the Oracle Database Server, and you can refer to the documentation at http://tahiti.oracle.com for either XE or 10g Release 2 to get more information.
However, XE has built in limitations (as described in the documentation, especially the license doc previously identified) and changes in the initialization parameters will not override those limitations.
Specifically to answer your question about processes or sessions - I have changed the value to 100 with no issues.

• Printing through Airport Extreme limited to less than one page.

I have my MacBook Pro, and my wife's MacBook (dual-core), connected wirelessly to my Airport Extreme (802.11n). I have my printer (Canon MP-800 Multifunction) connected to my Airport. When I try to print I can only get about 3/4 of one page to print, no matter how many pages the file really is. Any suggestions on how to resolve this issue?

Try the following on your Mac.....
Open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
Click Manual Setup
Click the Internet icon
Click the Internet Connection tab
Change the setting for Connection Sharing to read Share a public IP address
Click Update

• When I bought an iPod touch 4G, the service coverage limits was less than 12 months

Recently, I bought an iPod touch 4G 8GB model from a local apple store. I went home and checked the serial number and I found out that the guarantee time left was about 6 months (it said it was to expired on 2 January 2013, but I purchased it yesterday). I don't even opened the seal yet. I called the seller, and he told me to register my product after opening the seal. But I'm afraid to doso by myself because I thought he would just blame me that I blew the guarantee time myself by whatever way or means.
Now, I want to ask anybody. Does this matter is normal for all new purchases of iPod touch ?

I've checked the website you mentioned and that's where I put in the SN. However, this is what showed up.
I bought it not from an authorized seller but this store had quite good reputation for selling apple product in Indonesia. I bought the product on 2 August 2012 (2 days ago). I'm not sure if the store would sold me a used one but the case was still sealed. But I noticed that the PN was MD057ZP which is different from my other iDevice that had ID instead of ZP. When I tried to register the product, this what happens
(it said that my product had been registered with another ID)

• Error while creating more than 100 users using Flatfile Recon

Hi,
I am trying to create users in OIM 9.1 using flat file recon. The recon works when I have less than 100 users in the flatfile. But if I add more than 100 users to the file, the recon does not create all users. Less than 50 users get created in OIM if the number of users in the flat file is more than 100. I get the below error in this scenario.

• Is there replacement for (less than) and (greater than) in Oracle 10g?

Hi,
In the User Java Application using Oracle's > (less than) or > (greater than) is not working.
Can anyone help me onthis for any feature in Oracle 10g instead of using less than or greater than
Thanks and Regards

Hi,
What do yyou mean by "it's not working"?
Maybe you could use sign function, instead.
with t as (select 2 x, 3 y from dual union all
select 2 x, 1 y from dual union all
select 2 x, 2 y from dual)
select t.*
from t
where sign(y - x) = - 1;
X Y

• User input formula variable with greater than/less than operators for KFG

Hello all,
I have used a formula in my query that is a difference of two key figures .For e.g:
Difference = tax from system A - tax from system B.
Now when the users run the report they should be prompted for the 'Difference' threshold for seeing the report say where difference is greater 100 or equal to 10 and so on.Currrently I have created a formula variable with 'user input' and created a 'condition' to display 'Difference' greater than the user entered value.
However,it is required to have various selection options for setting the threshold of difference. For e.g User should be able to set say 'equal to'/'greater than/less than/not equal to operator for 'difference' in the initial selection screen of the report.
With the current user-input formula variable I am not getting these 'greater than' etc operators.Any ideas on how to achieve this?

Ya know, that's all well and good ... BUT ... WHAT IF you do want to sort text type columns with Greater Than and Less Than operatiors??
SQL does it just Fine ... so WHY does APEX have the limit??? This is an Oracle BUG ... it SHOULD NOT limit the operators ... I realize "they" may be trying to be helpful with proper constraints to field searches ... but ... if SQL can do it, then ... no need for a limit.
EG ...
Show the records where
the "Begin_Year-Wk" data is less than or equal to "2009-09" AND
the "End_Year-Wk" data is greater than or equal to "2009-04"
... to give everything that was running in that 5 week period whether or not it starts within that time frame
I can run this query perfectly fine via SQL ... but not in APEX ... unless I reconvert a lot of strings back to numbers, and for sorting / formatting / explain-to-user purposes, I really don't want them to be numbers.
So ... there's gotta be a hidden tweak for operators somewhere ...

• External user webmail timeout less than 1 minute

I had check the configuration on the webmail on the server, by default it set to 20 minute. Some how users trying to access from external will get timeout less than a minute. Any advise?

Do you have a proxy in between (like Novell Access Manager or something else)?
Another item is have you changed the security setting to NOT use "by IP" in the webaccess configuration?

• "Scale Images" has limited less than 180 files?

Hi,
I has made a Automator app that make jpeg images to a pdf.
For decrease pdf file size, I added automator task "Scale Images" and set "To Size (pixels)" to "960".
Then run Automator, the task seemed to be proceeding smoothly until 180 files.
But the task has not finished after ten minutes. The status icon was still in process "Scale Images (5/6)".
I stopped the app and try again. I have the same result. Nothing changed with the 181th jpeg file in Finder.
Does "Scale Images" has limitation less than 180 files?

mns579, thank you for reply.
I also tried under Snow Leopard (10.6.8). The workflow has completed without hanging!
The version of Scale Images on Snow Leopard is 1.2.
In the case of Scale Images 1.3 on Lion (10.7.4), it has never completed... under same files and same workflow.
It seems something buggy.

• User disk space available showing less than actually available on drive

Can anyone tell me why the space available to a user would be different, less than, that on the drive?
My user home folder is showing only 72Gb available, while I've actually still got some 350Gb available on the drive, which I can see in the finder by clicking on the drive. I certainly haven't manually given myself a quota or anything.
I am using encryption, file vault. And I'm using time machine.

FileVault only encrypts the Home folder. It does so by creating a sparsebundle type of disc image file. Any space available information you see is related to the sparsebundle. As your Home folder expands in space usage so will the sparsebundle. However, if you remove files from the Home folder the sparsebundle will not shrink.

• How to get 1 day less than user entered date

Hi
There is a user entry for date. If the user enters 20060427 then the report should run for 20060426. I tried giving 'LT' in the CMOD code. But it gives an error. Can anyone pls help. Is there a function module for this?
Thanks
Suja

Hi Suja,
You can use Less Than and Greater than for a user entry variable as follows: When you right click > restrict the char, then in the pop up box there is a drop down for Selection. Choose Value Hange here. Then in the drop down to the right you will have values ike Between, Less Than, Greater than...you can select as required.
Hope this helps...

• How do I represent "LESS THAN" using Oracle XMLDOM Package

I am creating a xml file using Oracle XMLDOM package.
I am creating a Text node with value "<". Following is the code that creates text node
CRRuleoptext := xmldom.createTextNode(MDRDocVal,var_mdr_rule_oper_flag);
The var_mdr_rule_oper_flag is coming from a table and its value is "<"
But once the XML file is created I see
<RULEOP>&;#38;lt;</RULEOP>
instead of
<RULEOP><</RULE>
How do I get < instead of &;#38;lt; using Oracle XMLDOM Package?

Just create a text node with a literal less-than sign "<", this will get serialized either as &;lt; or as &;XX; (where XX is the unicode value for less-than).

• Greater Than Less Than

Dear all,
I am Using oracle 10g R2 database on windows.
I have a doubt that,
If I have a 'Date' datatype column suppose a and want to (select Less than sysdate and greater than Sysdate-31(One Month).
e.i.

I had not considered the effect on an index with TRUNC. Thank you for pointing that out.
TRUNC doesn't actually remove time as you can see below
SELECT TO_CHAR(TRUNC(SYSDATE),'MM/DD/YYYY HH:MM:SS AM') "Today's Date and Time" from DUAL;
Today's Date and Time
01/19/2012 12:01:00 AMLet's say sysdate = Jan 19, 2012 11:00:00 AM
As shown above, trunc(sysdate) = Jan 19, 2012 12:01:00 AM
So, trunc(sysdate) -1 = Jan 18, 2012 12:01:00 AM
Removing the trunc from column a
select a,b,c
from T
where a between trunc(sysdate)-1 and trunc(sysdate);will also remove all data that is greater than Jan 19, 2012, 12:01:00 AM so you would only see data from one day -- Jan 18th.
Adding the trunc to column a returns all the data from Jan 18th and 19th.
It is my experience that users will ask for a date range, but then will ask for just one day. If Column a is not truncated, then no rows would be returned when between trunc(sysdate) and trunc(sysdate).
Most programmers will not use trunc(sysdate) in the where clause, but would use a variable with value assigned of sysdate or trunc(sysdate) as it provides more flexibility.
If you do not want to use trunc on column a, then the where clause should be BETWEEN trunc(sysdate) - 31 AND sysdate.
Edited by: Shinegar on Jan 19, 2012 12:40 PMThe trunc function does not remove the time portion, but it does set it to midnight. Or at least i would if you used the correct format mask in your TO_CHAR. The mask for minutes is MI not MM.

We just recently increased the available memory from 8GB to 24GB to help ensure that there is enough memory. This error never happened on CRM v4. According to the resource monitor, SQL is only reserving 20.7GB of RAM and there is 694MB of RAM in Standby.
The main Async service is using 660MB and the maintenance Async service is using 265MB.
To resolve the issue temporarily, I restarted both Async services this morning. Shortly after everything came back, they were holding fairly steady around 350MB and 200MB. It's been six hours since then.
The last time I spoke with Microsoft about a similar problem, they suggested increasing the amount of RAM.

It became more and more of a problem. It was impacting the users in a more subtle way at first. You couldn't configure the CRM for Outlook client. After a while, they couldn't use CRM in Outlook at all and users reporting not being able to complete phone
call activities. I opened a ticket with MS and they suggested the same as Wilson Lou did. The organization error had nothing to do with the creep on the async services usage of RAM. It was indeed caused by SQL stealing all of the memory. Limiting the max usage
to 24GB RAM has resolved that error.
My Async processes are still using a LOT of RAM, but now that I have more than enough RAM, it doesn't seem to be a problem anymore. They are currently using about 700MB RAM each.
Also, I have upgraded to SP1, UR2.
