Oracle10g instant installation for php 5.2.3 in slackware 12

Hi,
I don't know how to install oracle 10g instant for php 5.2.3 in slackware 12. There are install documents in his site but they aren't used in slackware 12. I need to solve this problem.

Hi,
I have gotten a stable and working environment doing installation of Oracle Instant Client on Mandriva Linux. I know it's a different distro, but remembering from my slackware days most of the stuff should be pretty similar. The only difference is that you will not be using RPM packages. Some of the paths might also be different.
The installation is basically in two parts:
1. Installing Oracle Instant Client package and verifying it's working from the command-line. This might be more important one to get working.
2. Getting and building oci8 extension. I prefer pulling latest stable stuff from pecl (pecl.php.net)
I have put together a little document with my notes that cover both parts of the install process: http://www.gena01.com/forum/index.php/topic,184.0.html
This is based on the research I have done and seems to work rather well for me. I'd love to hear if this helps you out and what things are different for slackware.

  • Licence Cost for Oracle Instant Clent for PHP

    Hi all
we have downloaded Oracle instant client for connecting our PHP application with oracle.
    We have Oracle licence already.
Do we need to have separate licence for Instant client or it is free?

Yes, thanks for pointing that out. When you download a thousand times such details might just become lost behind a click, scroll, scroll and click procedure.
However, what I was trying to get at was that most product downloads if not all requires a "real" license, unless you want to only play a bit with it on your laptop. But in this case the license is somewhat more generous. Of course, you or your customers would still need to license the database servers.

  • Failed to install php-oci8 with instant Client for linux 64

    Hello,
I have a 64-bits Linux box with RHEL4, and PHP version has been upgraded from 4.3.9 to 5.1.6. I try to make the connection to remote oracle server.
I download instantclient-basic-linuxppc-10.2.0.2-20060327.zip , and follow the instruction to
    install it.
But when i try to install php-oci8*.rpm, no matter which i use:
    php-oci8-5.1.6-1.el5.i386.rpm or php-oci8-4.3.9-2.2.el4.i386.rpm
The installation always failed due to dependencies errors with oracle instant client.
I also tried with some other packages like: php-oci8-4.3.9-3.el4.x86_64.rpm
All my tries gave me dependency errors.
    sometime like:
    error: Failed dependencies:
    libclntsh.so.10.1 is needed by php-oci8-5.1.6-1.el5.i386
    oracle-instantclient = 10.2.0.3 is needed by
php-oci8-5.1.6-1.el5.i386And I cannt find the right RPM for oracle instant client for linux 64 bits box, and php-oci8 5.1.6 64 bits.
I have been trying on this problem for more than one week, and so frustrated. I will appreciate if I can be guide on this issue.
    Thanks in advance!

    When instant client for windows:

    Thanks.

    Now, it seems :)
Thinking about it, I later downloaded Client CD from:
    http://otn.oracle.com/software/products/database/oracle10g/htdocs/winsoft.html
On the Select Install Type page we have as the first choice: InstantClient

Maybe it's not quite complete after all, or Oracle just forgot to update the Instant Client main page...

  • Cannot install Flash Builder 4.6 for PHP

I have FB4.5 premium installed, and have bought an upgrade license to the "for PHP" version. I downloaded the 2 files from the adobe web site (only V4.6 seems to be downloadable now) - that's FlashBuilderPHP_4_6_LS1.7z and FlashBuilderPHP_4_6_LS1.exe. The installation goes past specifying all the options but just before it finishes it says "rolling back installation" and exits. I hunted around and founf PDApp.log, and these are the last few lines. They give me no clue as to what has gone wrong except maybe the first line here but it keeps going for a little while after that message. I've tried 3 times now with a reboot in between, and it fails every time. Is it time to download a fresh copy of the installation files or get a DVD?
    Thanks

I worked it out in the end - I had to uninstall FB4.5 and reboot. Why couldn't the installation say so instead of just crashing? I found this out, by the way, by trying to run the installer created under c:\program files(x86)\adobe\adobe flash builder 4.6. That one told me at least that I had to uninstall a previous version, though even then it was coy about which one

  • When Flash Builder 4.6 for PHP is released will it support AIR 3.2 ???

We've all been waiting a long time since last November's Private Beta of Flash Builder 4.6 which was released shortly thereafter, for the Flash Builder 4.6 for PHP version.
However, Flash Builder 4.6 for PHP (The one with Zend Studio included in it) is scheduled for 2012 - Q1 release, meaning?
I guess, at the latest March 31st.
This is significant, because AIR 3.2 is Great, but it will Live or Die based on what happens, I believe, in the next year, the new demo with the 2 geniuses at Adobe, Lee Brimelow and Thibault Imbert, which essentially ARE the driving intellectual force behind AIR, make me feel more comfortable than the management at Adobe,
    http://tv.adobe.com/watch/adc-presents/hardware-accelerated-graphics-for-mobile-games-with -adobe-air-32/
So, when FB 4.6 for PHP is released, will it support AIR 3.2?
There's another thing, there are a ton of job offerings for iOS 5 or Android Java, but no AIR (very few and the damage control fromthe eff'ed up press release is still meandering).
Adobe needs to compliment its consumer base and developer base, with a Developer Network for Corporate integration so there are contracts out there for us who live between our dream ideas and meals, by doing contracting work, and it'd be nice to do it in Flash Builder 4.6 instead of taking on an iOS 5 or Android Java or PhoneGap project.  At least for Gamers.
REPORTS: Social Gaming will be a $5B industry by 2015. The total mobile market will be a $15B industry by 2015.
I'm shooting for the Social Gaming, and I like what I see in the above video.
But again, people have to pay bills, why doesn't Adobe reach our to Corporations for certified developers like Mickysoft and Apple?

I worked it out in the end - I had to uninstall FB4.5 and reboot. Why couldn't the installation say so instead of just crashing? • Oracle Instant Client for Intel MacOS X

Hi all, this is my first post here (so I don't know if it's the proper place, but to try it is free. Sorry for any inconvenience).
Anybody, can confirm/explain why, one year after launch, there isn't one available download of Oracle Instant Client for Intel MacOS X?
Without it's impossible, for example, to compile PHP with OCI support under Intel MacOS X (native mode) and it's really a pain.
With PPC version existing since ages, wouldn't be absolutely easy to recompile that cool stuff for Intel MacOS X?
TIA and ciao, Eloy Lafuente :-)

    Hi again...
just to know a bit more... two months later... how is customer demand going...?
Have you searched for "macos x instant client intel" ?
    Aren't PHP/Perl/Ruby applications enough?
I sincerely think it's a big mistake to don't offer native connectivity for MacOS X Intel users... of course, your mistake.
Some developers, like me, will stop developing/improving Oracle support in their applications just because they use MacOS X to develop. So, those applications won't run ok under Oracle, no matter where you deploy them.
With thousands of applications running natively under MacOS X Intel... isn't there (@ Oracle) able to recompile that tiny piece of software to run under Intels... sorry but I cannot believe it.
I'll email SJ right now! Ciao :-)

  • Question about SDK dependencies for PHP

    Dear Sirs,
I'm having a problem when I was creating the connection with my azure storage account. so I have the folloowing questions:
Is the folder structure of Azure SDK and its dependencies are correct?
In the case the folder structure is not correct, how the folder structure with PEAR and  Azure must be?
Please find below step-by-step I went thru trying to address the issue.
When I running the following line the program stopped processing.
    $ BlobRestProxy = ServicesBuilder :: getInstance () -> createBlobService ($ connectionString);
So I accessed the error log file that is in the LogFiles / php_errors.log and it showed the following error:
[16-Mar-2015 12:18:33 America / Los_Angeles] PHP Warning: require_once (HTTP / Request2.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory
    in D: \ home \ site \ wwwroot \ pear \ WindowsAzure \ Common \ Internal \ Http \ HttpClient.php on line 33
    [16-Mar-2015 12:18:33 America / Los_Angeles] PHP Fatal error: require_once (): Failed opening required 'HTTP / Request2.php' (include_path
    = '; C: \ php. \ Pear') in D: \ home \ site \ wwwroot \ pear \ WindowsAzure \ Common \ Internal \ Http \ HttpClient.php on line 33
I opened the file HttpClient.php on the line 33 and there was the following code:
    require_once 'HTTP / Request2.php';
We got information that Azure SDK for PHP requires the following PEAR packages:
    http_request2: http://pear.php.net/package/HTTP_Request2
    Mail_mime: http://pear.php.net/package/Mail_mime
    Mail_mimeDecode: http://pear.php.net/package/Mail_mimeDecode
Also, we got the following links to help install above packages?
    https://github.com/Azure/azure-sdk-for-php/issues/694
    and
    http://stackoverflow.com/questions/4483317/failed-opening-required-http-request2-php-include-path-c-php5-pear
We checked the above links and only way we could do thru below link:
    https://github.com/Azure/azure-sdk-for-php#install-as-a-pear-package
After installation we got the following folder structure:
    "ajao" -> root folder
"pear" -> folder that contains PEAR packages and Azure SDK
The autoload page is located at the following folder path "ajao\pear\WindowsAzure\WindowsAzure.php"
Even after Azure dependencies installation the above explained error still there.
Is the folder structure of Azure SDK and its dependencies are correct?
In the case the folder structure is not correct, how the folder structure with PEAR and  Azure must be?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Pedro Gustavo Duarte

    Dear Sean,
There is no spaces. When we copied from Azure to text editor, we end up getting those spaces. The main problem is that in order to connect
to Azure storage account we need to install Http_Request2, Mail_mime, and Mail_mimeDecode dependencies into Azure SDK for PHP. Unfortunately, we are not able to install them.
    Best regards,
    Pedro Gustavo Duarte

  • Flash Builder 4.5 for PHP trial expired in one week

    Hi,
I downloaded Flash Builder 4.5 for PHP on 6th october. Due to some misunderstanding i uninstalled the Flash Builder 4.5 for PHP. Today when i installed it again, after installation i launched the flash builder and got a popup saying that the trial has expired. I have tried reinstallation(after removing) 2-3 times but its not working for me.
Not sure is there any quick way to get support from Adobe tech team.
This forum seems to be my only hope.

  • Deletion of Flash Builder 4.5 when installing Flash Builder 4.5 for PHP

There is a very serious error with the Flash Builder 4.5 for PHP installer (from http://static.zend.com/topics/Flash-Builder-for-PHP-4.5.0-Release-Notes.txt ):
If Flash Builder 4.5 (not PHP) is already installed on the machine, and the
product (Flash Builder for PHP 4.5) is then installed in a different location,
the user gets the "FB is installed" dialog.
After clicking OK, the installation rolls back and removes both Flash Builder
      and Flash Builder for PHP.
    My questions:
Can Flash Builder 4.5 for PHP be installed in the same location without deleting Flash Builder 4.5? If so, please define "location."
Is there a workaround for installing both flavors of Flash Builder 4.5 and avoiding the deletion issue described above?
Can a single do-it-all version of Flash Builder 4.5 be installed that combines the SDKs and features of both flavors of the Flash Builder 4.5 product?

  • Can I develop CF projects using Flash Builder 4.5 for PHP?

I currently develop CF projects using Flash Builder 4.5.  I am considering purchasing Flash Builder 4.5 for PHP.  Will I still be able to work on my CF projects using FB for PHP?

Because in the installation instructions for FB for PHP it says that you have to uninstall the current installation of FB which I have several CF projects that I use regularly.  I hate to uninstall if it turns out that I can't transport my current projects into FB for PHP.
Oh that sux!  It's just an Eclipse plug-in, and one can have installed multiple installs of Eclipse OK, so I wonder why they're said this?
OK, because I give suck advice, I'll D/L it and install it on a spare machine and take a look.  FB usually has a CF perspective does it?  So what you need to know is whether FB for PHP still has the CF perspective?
Or are you asking whether you can install CFB (or CFEclipse) as a plug-in to FB for PHP, like one can with FB?
    Sorry about the bad advice.

  • 11.1.0.6.0 instant client for x86_64?

    hy,
since some day's the 11.1.0.6.0 for x86 linux is out. I need the DRCP Feature for PHP and I didn't want install the big client on every server.
My Problem is that I have an x86_64 system running. Does anybody know where I can find an 11.1.0.6.0 instant client for x86_64 linux?

Like you've said, the release for Linux x86 platform is out. The Database products was recently released for Linux x86-64, so I guess we can just wait and see. You could check the IC downloads pages until it happens:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/tech/oci/instantclient/index.html
Is your app (PHP in this case) designed to make use of DRCP features?

  • Apache in FMS 4 Developer vs XAMPP Environment for PHP

    1.  Have a Flash Webpage under development designed to permit preview and streaming of FLV video.  Downloaded FMS Developer as a test server on my computer.  Apache 2.2 loads with it with a checkbox option to install it or not. I'm able to stream my video OK in this setup using RTMP://localhost and the FLVPlayback component in Flash Pro.  I like some of the OSMF players better like the one in the FMS Start Screen, but I haven't been able to integrate/embed it into my Flash webpage using the HTML provided.  They say just paste it to the webpage, but in ActionScript how do you do that?  None of the online help really explains how to embed Strobe Media Player into an FLA webpage using their HTML.
    2.  I plan to use PayPal Express Checkout for Digital Goods (EC/DG) as my pay facility on the Flash webpage. My videos will play to a cuepoint and then jump to a PayPal button which executes (EC/DG) .  I'm having trouble integrating PayPal with my Flash webpage.  There's a lot of online help, but most solutions involve PHP.  To help me understand PHP I bought the e-book, "Adobe Dreamweaver CS5 for PHP" which recommends downloading the XAMPP platform which contains Apache, PHP, MySQL etc.  I have several questions concerning this:  (a) If I use the XAMPP software, as recommended in the Dreamweaver book, do I have to first uninstall the Apache that comes with FMS? I assume you can't have two Apache's running at the same time. (b) Is FMS the Server or is Apache the server in the FMS installation? (c) Does the Apache software installed with FMS include PHP and MySQL, which seems to be required for any server-side coding?
You can see by some of these questions that I'm new to all this Server stuff.  I'm doing it myself because I can't afford to pay the $400 to $500 a month for a Video Streaming Host.  I want to use FMS with Amazon Web Services to implement my Streaming Video Project, but I'm not sure I can do it with all the problems I'm encountering.  Anybody know any "reasonable" developers?   ;-)
    Two final questions:
    3.  Why would I need Flash Builder if I have Dreamweaver?  Don't they do essentially the same thing?
    4.  Can I do everything I'm trying to do in 1 and 2 above just using ActionScript and JavaScript, which I understand is just Server-side ActionScript?
I appreciate any help you can give me on any one or all of these issues.  Thanks
    Joel Cotten
    VideoArts

    1. backup your applications folder, fms.ini and any other config files that you have changed in the FMS install directory.
    2. uninstall FMS
    3. reinstall FMS and uncheck the option to install the bundled apache webserver . FMS should be installed on a seperate server as apache. Flashplayer uses port 80 and it  Will conflict adobe apparently bundles apache to be used as demo. I have never gotten PHP and all its modules such as gd to work on their version of apache. reinstall you applications folder and fms.ini(any thing else you backed up)
    4. install apache 2.2,PHP,PHP PEAR(if you ever want to send mail)  install  mysql and mysql workbench on the server machine.
    5. create a text document and change hide known file extensions in the windows folder options so you can change the text files extension to .html(myEmbedFile.html) paste the html provided into this file put it on the webserver and browse to it.
    Resources to keep in mind.
    1. You can use any desktop machine running windows that is has at least 512 mb of ram as development machine. I have installed all the above mentioned servers on desktop machines. I currently use a single quad core destop for all my delvelopment needs and because its a devlopment machine i took port 80 out of fms.ini and installed IIS,Mysql and FMS on it. Keep in mind if you are using windows 7 that you can install apache and PHP on it but I could not get GD (php graphics module) to install on it an currently use IIS. If you do all of this on Linux its not a problem but you may have to find a patch for FMS to get it to install.
    2. if you want to attach your ip adderess to a domain name use dyn.dns their client will autochange your IP address if your ISP gives you a new one or you change a nic card or for any other reason.
You should do everything I've described above to be able to learn and create apps as effiecently and with as little hassle as possible.
You can use a package such as  XAMPP to which will install all the above servers but i prefer to do it one by one and use config files without a config manager and I think its easier to install any sever modules I might want to use in the future to expand my development websites. Your choice though.

  • Griffin iMic USB vs. ADS Tech Instant Music for Vinyl Recording

This is a repost, I posted in OSX accidentally. Sorry! Anyway, can anyone advise me, I am new at this... I just bought an Audio-Technica AT-PL120 Direct Drive Turntable (on its way to me) so I can transfer old LP's to my Macbook Pro for iPod and CD listening. It has a selectable internal stereo phono preamplifier and the ability to choose from phono or line-level output. Now, to get the sound INTO my Macbook pro, should I go with the Griffin iMic USB or the ADS Tech Instant Music for Vinyl Recording? Also, anyone heard of THIS device and do I even need it?

    Macbook Pro 17"   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

I think you probably have everything you need except for appropriate audio recording software. For example, your MacBook Pro probably has an audio input jack that can be set to line level. If that is the case, then all you need is a cable from the turntable (set at line level) to the MacBook's audio in (plus the recording software).
However, a quick websearch on the ADS thingy found a review which should help you.
    http://www.macnn.com/reviews/review.php?id=164
Based on that, the ADS thing may be worth it just in terms of making it easier for you, even if you don't, strictly speaking, need it. It appears to include recording software called CD Spin Doctor. I'm not too fond if CD Spin Doctor, but it will get get the job done. I like Amadeus for audio recording.
The review may also provide you with sufficient explanation on how to do the whole process.
