Oracle9i - 92010NT_Disk?.zip, but what is client for?

I have downloaded all 3 disks for Oracle9i 92010NT_Disk?.zip.
My question is, what is the 600MB+ client download for?? Is this included with the 3CD's I already downloaded, or is this some additional goodies?

Ok, going to give it a chance. I hope that with next update, it won't be removed altogether. With this chaotic startup order, it is not so easy to move some filesystems to their separate partitions as i do not know what starts before the secondary HDD gets mounted. Mostly, /private/var/folders in .dmg gives problems. Will see with a normal partition and fstab...

  • Little plastic piece that the nano fits in but what is it for??

Ok, I give up. I feel like I'm on candid camera or something trying to figure out what this random piece of plastic included with the nano is for. The nano fits in one side at a slight angle which is cool, but the underside is configured for something (WHAT??) and is useless for putting the nano in until I figure out what. It definitely doesn't sit on the table.
Go ahead, tell me it's something obvious... I don't care... I just want to know what it is!!!
    iPod Nano (2nd Gen)

Don't worry. It happens to me too, and it's not so obvious. As it is said in this thread, that "random piece of plastic" is an adapter for the universal dock. That means you can use it for plug your iPod Nano into an apple speaker, for example, otherwise you would only plug an iPod (1st, 2nd etc. generation, I mean, "the classical" iPod) on it.
    Greetings.

  • Using SUN Ray thin client for UCCE CAD Agents

    Hi,
Does anyone tested the thin client SUN Ray for  Cisco Agent Desktops? Is this supported by Cisco?
We know that  Cisco supports Citrix for Cisco Agent Desktop but using thin client for  IP Communicator is not supported at all.
    Thanks.

I guess it all depends on what the SunRay client is connecting to? If it's a VDI, terminal server, or something else as long as that platform is supported by Cisco/CAD then it should be okay - after all the SunRay is just a way of connecting to a desktop environment that then runs the CAD software.
Hope you're SunRay deployment goes well!

  • IPod standard accessory - what is it for?

My iPod shipped with a white plastic thing that looks like an iPod Dock - the Nano fits into it from one size, the USB plug fits into it from the other - but what is it for???
It looks as if it was made to be stuck into something else, but what?
    Thanks a lot!

Is this the Dock you've got? It comes with adapters for the older iPods and newer iPods have the adapter suppled: iPod Universal Dock

  • FCP X, what do I give a client for their archives

I shoot events that can range from 5 minutes to 2 hours. After the edit is approved I'm looking to give the client a file that they can play and if necessary a file they can archive so if in the future another type of media becomes the norm they can transfer the file to that media. IE: today's is DVD tomorrow maybe Blu Ray. I'm assuming a .mov will be good to "play" on either a PC or Mac but what about the archive file. Someone told me they give the client the "ISO" files on a drive.  Not sure what "ISO" is!
    Thanls for the help

In Compressor, in Job Action. select Hard Drive for Output Device. It's something very similar in X.
    Good luck.

  • Oracle9i Database Release 2 Client for Microsoft WindowsXP

I downloaded the "Oracle9i Database Release 2 Client for Microsoft WindowsXP" but am having problems launching the setup.
Double clicking on the setup.exe or running it from the command prompt produces nothing.
How can I launch the installation?

the symcjit.dll file on the CD used to cause problems with P4 machines. Copy the CD to your HD, delete the file and run the install from your HD, or reburn it to CD.

  • Safari and firefox stop working after a few minutes of browsing, regardless of what site I'm on. I have to restart my computer to get internet access again but it only works for a few more minutes, then I have to restart again. Please help!

Safari and firefox stop working after a few minutes of browsing, regardless of what site I'm on. I have to restart my computer to get internet access again but it only works for a few more minutes, then I have to restart again. I don't get a spinning ball, it just stops working at whatever page it's on. I can close the program just fine but when I re-open it, either safari or firefox, it freezes trying to load the hompage. This started a few days ago after trying to stream a movie on my computer. I'm on a Mac Air OS X Version 10.6.8 and have downloaded all updates. When I go into finder, it says I have over 80 gigs available. Is there some other memory cache that I need to check? Thanks so much for your help.

It's not a router problem as I explained in my post. If it was a router problem then I wouldn't have the problem everywhere I go. It is an issue with the software.
Then I guess the millions of people running 10.5.7 with no issues are just hallucinating that their machines are working fine?
I'm not trying to belittle your issues; you're certainly having them and I know first hand how annoying an intermittent AirPort issue can be. (In fact, mine was due to an AirPort driver bug that no one else seemed to suffer from.)
The single best diagnostic you could do is take your system running 10.5.7 to an Apple Store, and try using their in-store network.
If your machine performs flawlessly, it may be a router issue.
If your machine has connectivity issues there, it may be a hardware problem with your machine.
There have been numerous people in multiple threads over the years who swore that an update was buggy because things used to work, but returned later to sheepishly admit that they took their machine in, a problem was found and fixed, and now their Mac works flawlessly with the newer software.
But simply reinstalling 10.5.5 in no way means the explanation of how firmware bugs may be at play here is incorrect.
In the context of that explanation, all you've done is possibly reinstall software that asks to add "2 + 3."

It appears what happened is the installer though it was looking at a empty drive and just went ahead and installed.
I of course am assuming here you didn't use Disk Utility to format the drive first before installing, that would wipe out your files and programs for sure.
So what to do, what to do.
Well there is hope for you as long as the drive wasn't Filevaulted.
I'll explain. When a hard drive writes data for the first time to a drive, it starts at the very top and works it's way down.
When OS X was installed the first time, it was at the top of the drive, unless you upgraded then the upgraded OS X could have been written elsewhere.
Now when you just reinstalled OS X, the new OS went on the top of the drive, overwriting any data that was there previously, so what was there you have lost forever which is about 8GB or so. If it was the previous OS there, then your more in luck because only the old OS X was overwritten.
The remaining space on the drive still can have a copy of your files, provided it's not overwritten yet.
It's because when a hard drive deletes data or reformats, it doesn't remove the data off the drive or overwrites it immediately, it's just made so it's SPACE is available for new files to be written there.
So technically one can recover the deleted data off a non-encrypted/scrubbed hard drive with special software.
The way it does this is it reads the 1's and 0's of the files themselves, and through a lot of figuring out, can tell what that file is and what it belongs too.
So what you will have to do is this:
Create a data recovery/undelete external boot drive
or if you don't have the skills, then take it to a local PC/Mac tech and they can do a direct image of the drive and then you can run Data Rescue on it to rebuild your files.

Nothing... why would they do anything?
Apple does not provide insurance and they are not law enforcement.

Any clue, how i can add a mail account to apple mail app, but with separate password / pin to open it.
Years ago there was a program called mail switcher which added this functionality, but thats gone.
    cheers
    Tom

They would have to be logged in as separate users in order not to see your account in Mail. Whatever accounts put in Mail under your account will show up. All mail accounts usually have there own user and password. The only thing you can do is to remove the password from Keychain and take the account offline so you don't keep getting prompts for passwords each time it checks for mail.
    Not a great solution.
Best way is to give the other user their own user account with their own mail and enable fast user swithcing to log between the different users if all access the computer frequently.

If you have not already, I would shut down (power off) your computer.  Do this to Reset your shuffle
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1655
Start up computer.  Run iTunes.  Connect shuffle.
If you have added a new USB device recently (since the last time it worked properly), you may want to try disconnecting it to see if that makes any difference.

  • Got a new hard drive for Snow Leopard, but what about all the applications?

    Hi,
Installing Snow Leopard revealed a faulty hard drive, but Genius Bar got me a new hard drive and installed Snow Leopard and the rest of the Mac Box Set for me.
I'm putting my computer back together, and I had all my files backed up on a Passport, but what do I do about the applications that I had? I could use a reinstallation of Office for Mac and Final Cut Express. Can I ask the companies directly?

More reason to back up your +*entire system,+* whether with Time Machine, a "clone" app like CarbonCopyCloner or SuperDuper, and/or some other way.
You should still retain the original discs, of course, but having a full system backup greatly reduces the chance you'll need them.
For info on Time Machine, you might want to review the Time Machine Tutorial
and perhaps browse Time Machine - Frequently Asked Questions (or use the link in *User Tips* at the top of the +Time Machine+ forum).
For info on others, see Kappy's post on Basic Backup, complete with links to the web sites of each product.

You can't "accidentally" put a passcode on any iPhone...its a multi-step process. Further, restoring an iPhone will remove the passcode, as the passcode is not included in an iPhone backup.
Are you sure you're talking about the phone passcode & not something else...like the "Restrictions" passcode?
