  • Download Problem for Oracle9i Developer Suite Release 2

    Hi,
I have been trying to download Oracle9i Developer Suite Release 2 from http://otn.oracle.com/software/products/ids/htdocs/winsoft.html
    There are two zip files
    1. A99230-01.zip (606,797,721 bytes)
    2. A99231-01.zip (207,292,517 bytes)
I was able to download (2) completely and is able to extract files from the Zip format. But after trying 4-5 times downloading the (1) still I am unsuccessful.
After the files download reaches somewhere around 250,000,000 bytes it says the download is complete but when I try to open the Zip files, it says the Zip is invalid. Is there any problem with the Zip that is uploaded to this site. How can I solve this problem.
Is it possible for me to get the Free S/w on CDs like we used to get for forms 6i through OTN site? If so where should I register for the same?
    thanks in Advance
    Anil Krishnan

It seems that it is only possible to start download of two files at a time. If you try to start more, the system hangs up. If you are trying to download the version that is split in ten files, you have to do this one file at a time. If you are trying to download a single file, make sure that this is the ONLY download session that is running on your computer.

  • Oracle9i Developer Suite

    Hello to all,
I download Oracle9i Developer Suite, but I'm having problems to install. When I downloaded, there were 10 files,
    File 1 (100,000,000 bytes)
    File 2 (100,000,000 bytes)
    File 3 (100,000,000 bytes)
    File 4 (100,000,000 bytes)
    File 5 (100,000,000 bytes)
    File 6 (100,000,000 bytes)
    File 7 (100,000,000 bytes)
    File 8 (100,000,000 bytes)
    File 9 (14,133,760 bytes
    File 10 (418 bytes)
This is what the Directions says
    1. Download the software (listed above) into a temporary directory.
    2. Run file10.bat.
    3. Run 9.0.2.ids_win32.exe.
    4. Run setup.exe (located in the \disk1 directory).
My question is: where do I get the 9.0.2.ids_win32.exe and setup.exe? because I don't see anywhere on the page. Any ideas?
Any help is greatly appreciate it
    Thanks in advanced
    Nato

    Hi vkw,
    Thank you for the answer.
I ran the bat file to extract the other 9 files and I got the 90201iDS_Win32.exe.
    I have two questions:
Could you please tell me how did you put the files on the CDs?
How did you get the setup.exe file? because on the directions on how to install says to run setup.exe (located in the \disk1 directory).
Coud you please be so kind to tell me how to do it?
    Thanks in advanced

  • Problem installing Oracle9i Developer Suite

When I try to install Oracle9i Developer Suite in my Windows ME system, the Universal Installer prompt me the following error message:
"Unable to setup inventory. You may not have proper permissions".
Does anyone know how to solve this problem.
I'm new to Oracle, sorry if this is a stupid question.
    Thanks and regards
    Ken

"Unable to setup inventory. You may not have proper permissions".
    Yes, this error is infuriating.
In the case of a first-time installation of Oracle9i Database Release 2 Enterprise Edition on AIX 5.3, the answer was to -
    1. Cancel the installation process.
    2. On the server -
    cd /etc
    rm oraInst.loc oratab
    3. Restart the installation process.
I don't know how applicable this solution is to Oracle9i Developer Suite, but would guess the problem is something similar.

  • Difficulty downloading Oracle9i Developer Suite

I'm having a terrible time trying to download the following file: A99230-01.zip (606,797,721 bytes)--Oracle9i Developer Suite Release 2 (9.0.2.0.1) for Windows (NT/2000/XP).
The smaller of the two files--A99231-01.zip (207,292,517 bytes)--came down the pipe with no trouble at all, but the larger one freezes at 99% completion and won't budge (I even left it to finish its business over the weekend but it was still stalled when I came back on Monday).
I've tried (and suffered the same fate) downloading the file to three different machines, all with high-speed connections, and I've spoken to our systems folks and there's no restriction on file sizes at their end.
    Can someone help me?
    Thanks in advance,
    Paul Berry

We recommend the use of a download manager such as GetRight (getright.com)...give that a try.

  • Installing Oracle9i Developer Suite

The installation of Oracle I Developer Suite on a Windows Xp Professional OS with Oracle 9i Enterprise Edition already installed fails because of this specific error:
Oracle 9i AS cannot be installed into an existing Oracle 9i 9.2.0.1.0 or higher Oracle Home
I would be greatful if someone finds a solution to this problem , (" I have changed the oracle home in the installation from ora92 to oracle") the installation was successful but the connection from the form developer to the database failed " tns listen could not find the database")
    thanx

There are separate TNSNAMES.ORA for each Oracle Home.
    e.g. Oracle 9i Release 2 in c:\oracle\ora92\network\admin
    and Oracle9i DS in C:\oracle\ora9ids\network\admin
Therefore, if you want to connect to an Oracle server using the same TNSNAME, you need to set Net Manager for both Oracle Homes.
Alternatively, you may copy the working TNSNAMES.ORA and copy and overwritten the other file in another Oracle Home.

  • Developer Suite Software Version List

I frequently need to install older NI software versions and have a library of several years of past NI Developer Suite Discs. Does NI provide a table of all the software versions and on which Developer Suite distribution they can be found?

Older developer suites contained cards that listed all the software and its version (and the version was in bold if there was a change from the previous developer suite release). I understand that maintinaing such a card, printing it and adding it to the disks may cost a few cents, but at least for the license agreement nobody seems to care about the cost for adding an extra paper in there  I could plaster an entire house with them by now.
rolfk: They still do... and you get a "nice" cover with too in every yearly major release.
Hmm, not here! I just get a card board box with a license document and a black fabric map full of DVDs but there is no printed list of software versions. I assumed this is because they decided to save a few pennies, but maybe there is something else going on. It is part of a multi user license, so maybe that is the reason.

  • Problems installing Oracle9i Developer Suite on Red Hat 8.0

Can anyone help me out what does this error mean? I am trying to install the Developer Suite but it wont continue because of this error message keeps popping up.
Error in invoking target install of makefile /opt/oracle2/plsql/lib/ins_plsql.mk
    Please help...Thanks
    Ian

There must be some other messages.
It could be that your .prd file does not match exactly with your installation or you have forgotten to do some stage in the installation procedure...
These are only clues. Look at the .log files to see what happened.
    Good luck.

  • Oracle9i Developer Suite - Forms Developer

  • Oracle9i Developer Suite Release 2 (9.0.2.0.1) for Windows (NT/2000/XP)

    Hi,
I have problem while installing Oracle 9i DS. I have downloaded all the 10 files and follwed the directions given in that page..Those are:
    Directions
Download the software (listed above) into a temporary directory.
    1. Run file10.bat.
    2. Run 90201iDS_Win32.exe
    3. Run setup.exe (located in the \disk1 directory).
So, I have implemented the 1st two steps successfully. But in regarding the step3 I don't find where the setup.exe file is located it says it is in \disk1 directory but in the files mentioned i don't find any disk1 directory..
So, could you please tell me where is this disk1 located.
i will be very much thankful for your Help.
    Thanks srinivas.

you should run the second step into a directory
    c:\tata for exemple.
the second step will create in this directory 2 sub-directory : disk1 and disk2.
the setup.exe exist within the disk1 directory.

  • Oracle9i Developer Suite Release 2 (9.0.2) for Windows (NT/2000/XP)

    You say ("Directions"):
1.Download the software (listed above) into a temporary directory.
    2.Run file10.bat.
    3.Run 9.0.2.ids_win32.exe.
    4.Run setup.exe (located in the \disk1 directory).
Steps 1 and 2 are OK.
Unfortunately, "9.0.2.ids_win32.exe" is just doing nothing!
In the DOS Box it says "This program cannot be run in DOS mode".
But trying to run it otherwise, it opens the DOS box and exits!
There are always problems with the split files.
Why don't you post the whole file as well?
    Best regards
    Jan Golka

I had a similar problem. To minimise the time on the download I tried to download all the files at one time. But when I started the download of file 3, the system just hang up. It seems that it is only possible to start download of 2 files at a time from the same webbrowser session. But if you start several instances of your browser it is possible to download all the files "at the same time". Of course the total download time will be the same, because all the browsers share the same bandwidth. But at least you don't have to watch your computer all the time. But it gave eksactly the same problem as you describe. When I took the time to download the files one at the time USING THE SAME WEBBROWSER SESSION everything worked fine !
I am well aware that this may be a coincidence, and I agree with you that these files should be packed in one big file !
    Yours sincerely

  • Don't see the SCM Installation Guide on 9i Developer Suite CD

    Hi everybody,
I don't see the SCM Installation Guide on my 9i Developer Suite CD. The CD is Release 2 (9.0.2.0.0) for Windows. I do see a file for the release notes titled 'Oracle Software Configuration Manager Release Notes Oracle9i Developer Suite Release 2 (9.0.2). Any leads on where to find the installation guide is appreciated.
I'd like to read the guide before installing Oracle Designer 9i. Any help with installing these two products is appreciated.
    Thanks very much,

  • Exp/imp on Developer Suite?

We recently moved our database to a RAC cluster, and we now host all of our developer applications on a box with Oracle9i Developer Suite. These applications were formerly hosted on the database server itself, which had Oracle9i Server installed. It looks like 9iDS does not include the exp/imp utilities, which some of our developer applications utilize. Is there an installation of the exp/imp utilities available that I could put on this 9iDS box, or will I have to install the Server software?
    Thanks.

    You must install Oracle Client.
