Oracle9i Enterprise Manager installation Problem on winXP Pro

While installing CD2 of the Oracle9i Version-9.0.1.1.1 it gives the error that error in copying file on Oracle/Ora90/assistants/dbca/components/Transaction_processing.dfj .
After this when I skipped this compnent installation and continued further after 100% completion it showed me in GUI that configuration Assistant could not be installed.. And finally showing the window that Oracle9i isntallation was unsuccessful. Please Help.

Are you sure your installation software is complete and not corrupted? Another possible reason for failure is, target destination has run out of space. Transaction_processing.dfj is one of the predefined seed databases, maybe it cannot be copied because lack of space.

  • 9i installation problem on WinXP Pro

I just downloaded 'Oracle9i Database Release 2 Enterprise/Standard/Personal Edition for Windows NT/2000/XP' from the OTN website. I then extracted each zip into their own directors as the site instructs. Then when I clicked on setup.exe I got an error message saying the JRE cannot be found in 'OraInstall2002-05-18_06-02-00PM'.
But something really strange is happening. Notice the '06-02-00PM' at the end of the directory name, that is my system time when I clicked on setup.exe. And everytime I click on setup.exe a new directory is created with the updated system time appened to the end of the directory name. So even if I install the JRE into the right place the installer still wont find it because it will be looking for it in the new directory it creates with the updated system time each time I click on it. I also have JDK 1.4.1 already installed.
I am trying to install it on my Windows XP Professional system. Is this a bug? Am I doing something wrong?
    Please Advise,
    Thank you in advance

Hi, I just installed 9i on XP Pro. I'm not familiar w/ the problem you have, but I did install from CD and not hard disk folders. Try burning (after unzip) the downloads onto CD's (total 3) and the installation will prompt you for each during the process. My download version was 9.2.0.1. Hope it helps.

  • Hyperion Financial Management Installation Problem on WinXP system

    Hi,
I am trying to install EPM/HFM 11g from scratch. I have downloaded the following files and extracted them in a folder. I started the installation with a specified hyperion_home as C:\Hyperion1.
    APS-11113.zip
    EPM-Architect-11113.zip
    EPM-FoundationServices-11113-Part1.zip
    EPM-FoundationServices-11113-Part2.zip
    EPM-FoundationServices-11113-Part3.zip
    EPM-FoundationServices-11113-Part4.zip
    Essbase-11113-Part2.zip
    HyperionFinancialManagement-11113.zip
    E12825_01.zip
    EPM-SystemInstaller-11113.zip
    Essbase-11113-Part1.zip
Unfortunately, the installation didn't go through well and I had the stop the installer as it was stuck. So, I thought I should start again with a clean slate. Thus, I uninstalled the program from control panel, extracted the files again and ran the installer. Somehow, the installer now fails with every product item lines marked as Failed.
I checked that the HYPERION_HOME/coomon/config/9.5.0.0/product directories are created and the Hyperion_Home/logs/install/installTool-install-stderr.log file indicates certain directories that are not present yet -

  • Enterprise Manager installation woes

Hi experts, I need some help desperately...
I've had a working 9.2 system for some time now but noticed that Enterprise Manager wouldn't work. It would lock up when trying to connect to the database in standalone (log in standalone then select database from navigator tree, log in form pops up but then seems to die at that point - no action after hitting OK).
So, rather than spend countless hours trying to fix it I decided to upgrade to 10. The installation of 10 would always stop at 21% while extracting files - no clue in the log file as it just said extracting file XXX. I then installed the database by selecting a Custom install and installing each component. All but the Enterpise Manager installed (stopped at 99% while extracting files).
Thinking, no problems, I'll get on with what I need to do, I then installed HTTP server (all this to get Application Express 2.2...). After installing HTTP server and finding that I don't think it will do what I need, I uninstalled it. Now the listener service is gone AND I still can't install Enterprise Manager.
Any ideas? (my patience is wearing a bit thin as I've been at this for 4 straight days now and my database is not up...) How do I get Enterprise Manager to install? How do I get the listner to install? (I've used lsnrctl but the error message is 193 meaning tnslsnr.exe is not a valid Win32 application)
    OS is Windows 2000
    Cameron

Well, i would suggest to star form the scratch rather then wasting time on hit and trial. Ra-install your OS if you can, If you can't then re install oracle software. As far as liostener is concerned, first un install the oracle net components and then re-install them on ther server and try to create a nre listener and run it.
For enter prise manager, install oracle 9,2 client in another home(administrative client) and then run OEM from that client home if its not wowkring from server's home

  • Looking for what software required for Enterprise Manager Installation

    Hi All,
I am fairly new in working with Enterprise Manager, Previously used 11g Database Control, but never install Enterprise Manager (OEM). Now due to the increase in databases, I am considering to install OEM (Oracle Enterprise Manager) to list all database (from over 20 Linux severs) to one location.
I have read documentation and still confused on what should be installed for OEM. I am planning to use OEM 12c Release (12.1.0.4), my current databases are 11gR2 (11.2.0.4 ).
Could you tell what I need from below list?
    OEM (12.1.0.4)
Web Logic server (Do I need that separately, or will this be installed with OEM?)
OEM Agent on all other 20 servers (do I need to install separate software on them? Please guide)
    Any specific version of Java.
Please guide me if I need any other software or plugin.
I have already installed oracle software and have created a database by using “Custom” option in DBCA. My server OS is Linux 64 Bit for Enterprise Manager.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi,
You would need 12c OEM cloud control software , Database software(For creating repository) and agent software (For monitoring targets on other hosts)
Java Development Kit (JDK) 1.6.0.43.0 and Oracle WebLogic Server 11g Release 1 (10.3.6) are installed by default with the 12c OMS installation although you do have a option of installing it separately if you want but Oracle strongly recommends using the 12c installation process to install the JDK and Oracle WebLogic Server for use with Enterprise Manager 12c.

  • Oracle9i - Enterprise Manager: Discover new nodes

    HI,
I am trying to discover additional nodes using Oracle9i: EM Management Server. I have 2 databases on different machines with the same SID and when I try to add the node I am getting "VD-4520: Targets with the same name have already been discovered". Is there a way to get around this?
    Thanks

Try editing your tnsnames file and Identify each database by an alias. For example, if your databases are both called ORCL then change the tnsname.
"Change this from ORCL to -->" Server1 =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS_LIST =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = Server1)(PORT = 1521))
    (CONNECT_DATA = (SERVICE_NAME = ORCL))
"Change this from ORCL to -->" Server2 =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS_LIST =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = Server2)(PORT = 1521))
    (CONNECT_DATA = (SERVICE_NAME = ORCL))
Then EM would identify each by the alias Server1 and Server2.

  • 9i installation problem on WinXP Professional

I'm installing Oracle9i on WinXP Professional. The agent
configuration assistant fails when installing and gives the following:
    Parameter "orahome" = d:\oracle\oracle9i
    Parameter "nodeinfo" = NO_VALUE
    Agent Service Failed
Any idea what's causing it and how to solve it?

OK, I have the same problem.
As a result I don't have a tnsnames.ora file and am trying to config. my ora files.
i'll paste my current situation below:
These are questions that i have and I'll copy the
files below and write my questions above the file.
this is the error when logging into sql plus with
    scott/tiger and system/manager.
this is the tnsname.ora file. I had to write it from
scratch because it wasn't generated and later the #
Comments were added by Oracle at some point later when
it was generated during some configuring.
I'm not sure if targis is my Host. During the process
the listener file created it so I'm going with it as
    my host.
I'm including the service name as targis also. i
think the service name is the global database name so
i don't think its correct but noticed a similar
    pattern in a fourm.
How do you find out what the service name is???

  • Windows XP Installation problem on Mac Pro (Early 2009)

I am wanting to install Windows XP on 400GB of my hard drive in Bay 2
I have 2 hard drives in my Mac Pro. The 1st one came pre-installed and I got a 1TB Western Digital SATA and formatted it as Mac OS Journaled. I used The Bootcamp Utility to make a Windows partition on my 2nd hard drive.
Once I do that I insert the Windows XP SP3 install disc to install it and it says it cannot install it because some random file is missing that is a random bunch of letter and numbers and it says I should erase the partition and try formatting it again. While I'm still using the Windows XP install disc I try doing this it does not work and then when I boot back into Snow Leopard the Bootcamp partition is still there.
Is this not possible? Or is the only way to install Windows XP on the hard drive in bay 2 by formatting the entire drive for Windows?

Since the Vista recovery works fine there must be a problem with the XP installation CD created by nLite. And yes this installation CD was not good. I created it with all current Security Patches and with all available Toshiba Satellite A200 Windows XP drivers. Obvisiously i picked up a wrong driver. May a 64-bit one.
    I tried this:
First I created a new Windows XP disc only with the Toshiba Storage Manager driver. This XP Installation works.
Then I created again a Windows XP disc will all Security Patches and all Toshiba Drivers. I doubble checked that I did NOT picked up a 64-bit driver. And this disc works. Thanks all.

  • Performance Management Installation problem

    Hi all
I'm in a big trouble with Performance Management XI installation on a BO XI R2 environment.
When I reach the CMS logon information, the CMS box is left blank by default, so I fill it and I got the following error:
"Logon Information for the CMS is invalid"
But when using java launchpad I can enter CMS with the same information (username, password, and authentication).
Anyone knows a file or something else where setup file looks for CMS configuration info?
    thanks in advance
    marco

    Hello Marco,
I recommend to post this query to the [BusinessObjects Enterprise Administration|BI Platform; forum.
This forum is dedicated to topics related to administration and configuration of BusinessObjects Enterprise, BusinessObjects Edge, and Crystal Reports Server.
It is monitored by qualified technicians and you will get a faster response there.

  • Sun Federation Manager installation problem

I'm trying to install Sun Federation Manager on a machine running RedHat Linux and Sun Application Server. The installation in itself appears to go ok, and the loginpage appears when i connect to http://x.x.x.x/federation The problem is when I try to login with the username and password, it only redirects back to the login page. It seems like it tries to go to AMAdminFrame, but gets redirected back. First I thought i didn't login correctly, but when I look in the amAuthentication.access file, it says that the login was correct.
Has anyone else had this problem? I've tried with both 8.2 and 9 of the application server, and the problem is the same on both. All help would be appriciated.
I've also tried with the Sun Webserver, but it threw an nullpointerexception on me. Does anyone have any ideas?

    Hello,
When you create any user through SUN Access Manager, is that user is created in LDAP
datastore, or is it created in SAM flat file repository ?
