Oracle9iAS WE  Support for Wireless LAN Architecture?

Hi All,
Here is one basic question. Does Oracle9iAS Wireless supports Wireless LAN Applications? if so how it could be. can some body provide references to this topic..waiting for the positive response
thanks & regards
krishna

Hi
I have goen through the FAQ which we refereed, but it has little information. stating that yes, there is a support but there is no prrof of concept or some additional information. and one more thing, can i use my cell phone with Wireless LAN to connect ASWE. if so what would be the Application type. which sort of applications would be preferable. it might be looking out of this domain, but if it includes in ASWE then it would be a intresting point to think of.
hoping for the positive reponse and thanks in advance

  • Seeking advice for Wireless LAN solution

I have a site that has a pipeyard in which I am considering covering with Wireless LAN. The transport vehicles that roam the pipeyard have terminals which currently use cellular cards & VPN to connect to an app server that is updated with stock that they move. The server is actually in an office adjacent to the pipeyard. The cellular coverage is poor and the connection drops are frustrating to the operators. For this reason, I am considering covering the area with Wireless LAN and replacing their cellular cards with 802.11a/b/g radios. The pipeyard has no obstructions. The area is outdoors and is about 122 acres in size.
Does anyone have suggestions about what Cisco solution could be applied to this pipeyard so that the mobile operators can maintain continuous connection to their server as they move about the yard?

For starters, you'll need to use mesh access points. You have the following choices:
Cisco Aironet 1520 Series Lightweight Outdoor Access Points

  • Password Recovery for Wireless Lan controller

Hi, I am new to Wireless Lan Controller.
I just wanted to reset the password for the Controller. Can anybody help me with this. link/procedure anything will be appreciated.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Jvalin

I think they mean that they can not type "reset system" since they can't log in in the first place.
The key point to be made is that you need to restart the controller. So power it off if you can't login. Then console in to the controller and type "Recover-Config" as the username. This will default the configuration and allow you to start over with a new username/password.
There is no other password "recovery".

  • Cisco NAC Layer 3 OOB Support for Wireless

We are currently using NAC 4.7.2 and I am curious if Layer 3 OOB for Wireless users is on the roadmap. We have a WISM and 5500 controllers. Thanks.

    Hello,
I know it's being worked on, but isn't in the near releases coming out soon. 4.8 is expected very soon and it's not in that release.
So long story short, don't know, but it will be there eventually.

  • Jaguar OS Support for Wireless

I'm not very familiar with the various Apple OS's so be patient. Does a laptop with Jaguar OS have support for 802.11b/g WPA TKIP security.

    Jaguar is 10.2
    Panther is 10.3
    Tiger is 10.4
None of these are free upgrades.
Depending on your Apple laptop, I would suggest going for Tiger.

  • You have set the device to scan for wireless LANs,...

I don't get the "four small hollow squares" icon show up, like it says in the "Essential Indicators" section of the manual, when I'm within range of a Wireless LAN. I do get "Wireless LAN found" in the status bar on the standby screen. How come I don't get the icon?

It does seem silly the way it works doesn't it.
I don't think the one on the active standby screen refreshes itself so you are best leaving that one switched off.

  • Support for Dual LAN "Teaming"

I bought a WRT600N router, which was far & away the most expensive (& only) consumer wireless dual band router available at the time + 2 compatible Ultra Range Plus USB receivers.  Apparently Linsys/Cisco decided to scrap this model & any further support--still ver. 1.0 firmware (from 2008).  OK, so repeat businessis not high on their priorities.
I recently completely upgraded my hardware to an Intel 1156 platform running Win 7 Ultimate 64-bit.  The new motherboard, a Gigabyte GA-P55-UD5, has "dual LAN" support that allows "teaming"--potentially 2GB support & auto-switching if one port is not functional.  Apparently it requires a router that has "IEEE 802.3ad" capabilities.  As far as I can tell, this potentially REAL nice feature is not supported, & the failure to update the firmware suggests it never will be.--bought their "Network Magic" Pro software to add another $50.
So the question is this: am I correct--no dual LAN support is built in & never will be--or is there a way use this functionality?  Suffice to say, if I paid about $420 for the router & USB receivers where if other router DO support it on the consumer level, I'll never consider a Linksys/Cisco product in this lifetime.
Thanks for whatever clarity anyone can offer.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I would say teaming is no consumer router feature. If you really need a 2 Gb/s connection of a single device to your network I wonder to which other device it should communicate with that speed. It can't be a single other device because that would only have 1 Gb/s unless you team the remaining two ports as well. (Not to forget that most consumer-level desktops are not even fast enough to deliver or receive data at that rate even if they have a Gigabit ethernet port).
If you have a set of other devices which in combination require 2 Gb/s server access then you'll have the same problem again: you have to connect them somewhere which means you need a switch which must be connected to the remaining two LAN ports. But then you could just as well get a switch which supports teaming and enough ports and connect everything there. Of course, an ethernet switch which supports teaming is usually some "intelligent" managed switch which easily costs more then your WRT600N.
Thus I think teaming will never be supported on any consumer Linksys device. If you need then you have to look at the Cisco Small Business series or better. They have some devices which support 802.1q VLANs and thus potentially also 802.3ad. Although even then I doubt it because considering the number of ports available on those devices it does not really make a lot of sense to support it at least on a 4 port router. Consumer and SOHO devices are not made for internet connections of 1 Gb/s or more. Thus you can only use the speed inside the LAN but with 4 ports that would be difficult... Thus I would say by design these routers do not support teaming. If you need teaming inside your LAN get a managed switch...

  • What types of files do HP printers natively support for wireless/bluetooth printing?

I've been trying to find this information, but digging it out of the HP Support Pages is daunting...
What are all the file types that HP wireless-enabled printers can support, without having to have some sort of driver/rip?  Since you can stick media cards directly into many printers, the printing driver/support must reside in the printer itself, so I'm assuming that simply transferring files to an HP wireless-enabled printer will cause them to print, ala the HP iPrint iPhone app.  But, other than the native iPhone image format, what is the full list of types of images/files that can be printed directly to the printers?
    Thanks,
    Mark

    Great question, Mark!
We support several formats in our printers.  *Note, depending on the model, some formats may not be supported.  If you want a model that supports ALL formats mentioned look for a PhotoSmart Premium branded model like our new line in hpshopping.com with Bluetooth and Wireless Networking capability.
    Now for the formats:
    For iPhone:
    -Graphics Interchange Format (*.gif)
    -JPEG File Interchange Format (*.jpg)
    -Portable Network Graphics (*.png)
    -Device Independent Bitmap (*.bmp)
    -Tag Image File Format (*.tif)
    -Windows Metafile (*.wmf)
    -Enhanced Metafile (*.emf)
      For Sybian OS models:
    Graphics Interchange Format (*.gif)
    -JPEG File Interchange Format (*.jpg)
    -Portable Network Graphics (*.png)
    -Device Independent Bitmap (*.bmp)
    -Windows Metafile (*.wmf)
The above formats would be used when printing over wireless (wireless N, G, A - depending on radios in phone and access point)
For printing via Bluetooth, and UPnP/DLNA we use an xhtml-print standard to support the following:
    Image Format:
-JPEG File Interchange Format (*.jpg) -Portable Network Graphics (*.png)
    Document formats:
     XHTML-Print.

  • VLANs for Wireless LAN controller

    Hello,
Just finished the configuration of wireless controller and connected Access point.
I have a scheme like this:
    Cisco 3945 with WLC on SRE------TRUNK-------L3 switch-------TRUNK----------L2 switch--------ACCESS PORT-------ACCESS POINT-----WIRELESS----CLIENT
2 VLANs on the  WLC (with DHCP on the router):
    1. management (VLAN 200 for management and access points - works fine)
    2. clients (VLAN 300, all setting are same, except Enable Dynamic AP Management setting, which is off and IP subnet, DHCP on router too).
Clients are able to connect, but they can't get address or ping the gateway of the clients VLAN (if i put this VLAN in the WLAN
Interface/Interface Group(G) setting), but everything is fine, if i set management VLAN to Interface/Interface Group(G) setting of the WLAN.
do i need to add any additional setting on the switches or on the router to allow this clients VLAN?...
P.S. i am able to ping both vlans, or get DHCP address from the switch and router...

yes, just for test, i set up IP from clients VLAN on the L2 switch, and from that switch i am able to ping the controller interface (clients interface).
Just to be clear, do I need to have both VLANS (ap-management and clients VLANs) on all the switches and router on my setup?
As I understand i need to have ap-management vlan only on L2 and L3 switches. Any other VLANs go throught the tunnel between AP and WLC?

  • Preview support for wireless keyboards

    Hi . . . .
    A simple question.
Is there a keyboard command to preview video and/or audio if you have one of the Apple wireless keyboards (that do not have a numeric keypad) ?
Or am I destined for a life time of sub menu slavery if I need to preview audio (which is 99% of what I do !).
    Cheers for any help.
    Lee

    Help !
Ok, I went to the Sebastien Perier website . . . and found the keyboard shortcuts text file, it was straightforward enough to change 'Audio Preview' to the period button on my wireless keyboard (below: italicised and in bold) - after first making sure nothing else was using the period button.
I then tried the same with 'Preview' (below: italicised and in bold) - but regardless of what I assign the command to (currently in this example F5) it won't work ? I am also making sure what I try is not in use by anything else, and all the obvious stuff like relaunching AE after each edit of the text file . . . . but nothing will seem to work, whatever key (or combination of keys) I try AE does nothing when I relaunch AE and press the key/s ?
    Anyone got any clues ?
Here's the section I am editing.

  • SA60-742 and Wireless LAN

    Hi
I was told when I bought this that it had support for wireless LAN, but to me it seems that there is no such built in functionality. Am I correct?
No button to turn on/off the wireless function, and no trace of such communication in control panel.

    Hi
I am sure that your notebook supported wireless card. First of all you must be sure do you have one or not. Please check in device manager under Network adapters if there is wireless card listed. If not you must buy one. In your case it can be some Wireless LAN Mini PCI Card or you can buy PCMCIA Wireless card and use it in PC Card slot.
Both solutions are ok but the second one is maybe easier because Mini PC Card must be build in on right place and it is necessary to open the notebook cover.
