Oracle9R1 on RedHat installation problems

Hi,
During installation ofOracle9i on RedHat9:
Kernel:2.4.20-8
gnu C library stable release version2.3.2
Gcc3.2.2(RedHat linux3.2.2-5)
i got this message after lauching of runInstaller
/tmp/OraInstalO/jre/bin/../lib/i686/green_thread/libzip.so:symbol errno,version GLIBC-2.0 not defined in file libc.so.6 with link timerefence(libzip.so)
unable to initialize threads:cannot find class java/lang/thread could not create Java VM.
Does somebody help me?

This bug in java runtime can be worked around by using
$ LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.4.1 ./runInstaller
Next there's another jre bug, of referencing an internal libc symbol, which will lead to a smiliar error output. For that you will need to us a later java runtime, like 1.3.1_11 (change install/linux/oraparam.ini to point out another jre dir)
When you get it running, OUI installs two java runtimes (1.1.8 and 1.3.1). The gui config tools ("Assistants") uses 1.1.8 so there's some bugs to potentially get hit by later on.
The 9.2.0.4 full distribution for Linux-based OS has some workarounds in place (if you can spare the 3 cd download)....
