Hi,
I am testing the integration and encountering some problems :
my portalTemplate.ear was deployed to a standalone OC4J instance (904).
The portalTemplate.xml contains valid information ( tested with sqlplus ).
The Dreamweaver extension was correctly installed.
When I try to login to Portal, i get a "There was an error connecting to Portal. Please check the db connection in portalTemplate.xml" .
I thought about many potential causes like starting my OC4J instance with -Dhttp.proxyHost and -Dhttp.proxyPort or to provide LDAP users credentials instead of db credentials when login in ... what's wrong ?
PS : When navigating to http://localhost:8888/portalTemplate/portalTemplate?operation=getName I cannot invoke the operation successfully; I get the same error "Error in making the database connection".

OracleAS Portal Extension for Macromedia Dreamweaver errors

I have installed the .ear file and the extenstion into Dreamweaver without any problems.
I then created a Portal Template page and tried to save it to the Portal (Portal - Save As). Entering the Portal instance and testing this was ok but then when I try and save my new template to Portal I get an error:
"A local copy of the file must be present before uploading the Template to Portal. Would you like to save a copy now ?"
If I OK this I then get the following error:
"While executing onClick, the following Javascript error(s) occurred:
At line 443 of file c:\Program Files\Dreamweaver MX\Configuration\Commands\saveAsTemplate.js": The function closeDocument() is currently unavailable"
Any ideas ?
Anyone got this to work ?

wrt to the "This Template was either not stored properly or defined incorrectly. This Template cannot be opened" error.
One of the probable causes for this error is when you define more than one portal connections with the same name or you define a portal connection with a name which has invalid characters and then save a template into that portal or try to open a template from that portal.
This error basically means that the web service is returning a null value or an undefined value for the template code. This could also be because of malformed template code.
Could you please check the following:
1. You have not defined more than one portal connections with the same name
2. You have not defined the portal connection with a name that has invalid characters.
3. Template does not have malformed code.

Portals Extensions for JDeveloper 10.1.3

I am trying to install the portal extensions for Jdeveloper, I get the following error when I run Jdeveloper after the install command
java -jar C:\portal-addin-install.jar C:\Jdeveloper
The error is
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: oracle/ide/addin/Addin
Severe(2,369): No class def found for addin oracle.webdb.jdev.PortletDevelopmentAddin

The extension installer was for JDev 10.1.2 and 9.0.5. JDeveloper 10.1.3.2 comes with an up to date version of the portlet creation extension.

Are there critical or security updates for Macromedia Dreamweaver since Adobe took over?

Are there critical or security updates for Macromedia Dreamweaver Flash and Macromedia suite since Adobe took over? I can still use it but I am worried about security issues.

What sort of security are you worried about? DW creates plain text files and they are as safe as any other text files you create with Notepad or Wordpad.
How old is your DW? I personally thing#k that it is time for you to get a new version so that you can create websites based on modern standards that are compatible with modern browsers.

OBEO is part of the server download. Normally, it is deployed to the clients only from an installed Beehive server, and updated automatically, too. There are instructions to do a manual install in "lock down environments", see here.

in portal 11g, this folder is in Oracle Instance and not in Oracle home, here.
config/OHS/<ohs_name>/htdocs

Are extensions for older Dreamweaver (CS5) archived somewhere? Can an installed extension be exported?

Today's wild goose chase is the extension that restored the deprecated validator into CS5.
I'm trying to re-install the validator extension for CS5, but the link (http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/exchange/index.cfm?event=extensionDetail&loc=en_us&extid=2188 524) just redirects to https://creative.adobe.com/addons, which no longer seems to offer any way to get to older extensions.
Oddly, I can't seem to find the original package (I assume it was an mxp or zxp) on the computer where I already have the extension installed. Maybe it's got a different filename and is eluding my search, or maybe it just went into a temp folder I've long since emptied.
I know that the Dreamweaver/Downloaded Extensions folder in Windows would contain the downloaded install file, but this is a Mac and I haven't been able to find out what the equivalent directory here is.
I'd pack up the installed extension and copy that to the other computer if I knew how to do that, but I don't even know the filenames or locations involved in this extension.
My employer isn't going to update my copy of Dreamweaver, so getting a current editor isn't an option.
Blah, what a mess. Does anyone know where I can get my hands on an install file for this ancient extension? (Or have any other thoughts on how I can track it down?)

I don't think that extension exists anymore b/c DW ultimately put their built-in validation feature back in to CS6. And CS5 is no longer supported.
Why don't you just use W3C's online validation service which is much better than the DW feature?

GeoRaptor Oracle Spatial extension for Project Raptor

As GIS professionals using Oracle Spatial we suffer by the lack of support for Spatial management features in professional database management and development tools like Toad. We were very excited when Project Raptor arrived, because it is based on JDeveloper platform and allows Java developers to extend its functionality with custom extensions, so we decided to start open source project GeoRaptor. Our primary goal is to extend functionality of Raptor, so that it provides most needed tools for developers and DBAs that use Oracle Spatial. Right now extension only includes functionality to update metadata and geometry validation but we have many ideas for the future. Some useful links:

Version 1 of the Oracle interMedia Extension
for Macromedia UltraDev is available for
both the Windows NT/2000 and the Macintosh
platforms. It supports the development of
Web applications in both the JSP and ASP
(with either JavaScript/or VBScript) models.
This extension should also work with
UltraDev 4.
We are going to submit the extension shortly
to Macromedia in order to get an approval.

Will the Portal Extension for

I followed the instructions on the web site and get errors:

I want to prepare a presentation regarding Oracle Portal 11g for a group of senior management in my company which sells electricity for commercial building. So i need to know from where i can find related papers that gives some practical examples for how implementing an Oracle Portal 11g can reduce operational costs and can improve ROI over time. So that if the company buy Oracle Portal 11g which costs for example X dollars then the company can cover this cost from reducing the operational costs in few years.

JDeveloper 10.1.3 and portal extension

Was the Portal Extension for developing portlets using the wizard upgraded for use with Oracle JDeveloper 10.1.3 or is this JDeveloper extension only compatible with the previous version 10.1.2 ?
If I upgrade to the latest version of JDeveloper 10.1.3.1 will I get this feature ?
