Per the documentation it appears that SSXA in JDev will work with 10gR3. I'm currently trying to configure this.

I want to add another management server to our existing SCOM environment. But whenever I run this setup on a new server I get stuck in the window for selecting the OperationsManager database. The database field stays blank and in the OpsMgrSetupWizard log
there are lines that the setup version is not compatible with the database version. But I use the same installer as when I installed the other management servers a year ago.
Maybe there is a newer setup installer? But I can't find it.

  • Oracle Developer 6 applications with database 10g

    Hello,
My all applications are developed and running in Oracle Developer 6 with database 9i. But now i want to use
database 10g with these Oracle Developer 6 build applications.
Already compiled files (with dev 6 and DB 9i) are runing with database 10g quite nicely, but when i try to
recomplie the source files of these applications with 10g database i got the fowlloing error.
    ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [17069], [45468896], [], [], [], [], [], []
After it i open these Oracle Developer 6 applications source files with Oracle Developer 6i and use 10g database,
    compile and run very easly.
I think it is old version problem .But my development team dont want update all applications to new version (6i or other) yet.
Is there any solution to use Oracle Developer 6 applications with database 10g ?
    Thanx.

The general rule is "Ora-00600s (and 7445s, 3113s) are to be reported to Support". Look in Metalink to see whether any one else has reported it, based on the first argument. If so, there may be a workaround or a patch.
Since you are asking this generically without database version, patch level or operating system, I assume you are using the unsupported free download and do not have access to Metalink. In that context
    1) What is the problem:
The problem is your request (QSL, PL/SQL, Java) is hitting a bug or abusing a part of the Oracle software in an unexpected way. ORA-00600 is simply one of the 'unexpected and unhandled exceptions'.
    2) Required action:
Since it is unexpected and unhandled, there are several ways to proceed:
    - Search the net for the first argument (ktspgetmyb-1) to see whether someone has a workaround
    - Reproduce and Simplify your offending code until you find your own workaround.
Often this happens with some sql statement

  • Forms 6 not connecting with Database 10g

I can not connect Oracle forms 6 with database 10g

    795192 wrote:
I can connect to sql plus but i cannot connect my forms 6 with database 10g. getting the following error:
ORA-12154: TNS: could not resolve service name=================================
ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified
This error means one thing, and one thing only. The client could not find the specified entry in the tnsnames.ora file being used.
As a follow-on to that statement, remember that when you use a dblink, the database in which the link is defined is acting as a client to the database that is the target of the link. So in this case, the tnsnames.ora file on the host of your source should have an entry for your target db, as defined in the db_link.
And for the umpteenth time ... this error has <b><i><u>NOTHING</u></i></b> to do with the status of a listener. The connection request never got far enough to reach a listener. If anyone tells you to check a listener in response to ora-12154, they are not paying attention, or do not understand how TNS works. This error is the equivalent of not being able to place a telephone call because you don't know the number of the party you want to reach. You wouldn't debug that situation by going to the other guy's house and testing his telephone, or by going to the phone company and testing the switchboard. And you don't debug a ORA-12154 by checking the listener. If I had a top ten list of "Incredibly Simple Concepts (tm)" that should be burned into the brain of everyone who claims to be an Oracle DBA, it would include "ORA-12154 Has Nothing To Do With The Listener".
    =================================
    A couple of important points.
First, the listener is a server side only process. It's entire purpose in life is to receive requests for connections to databases and set up those connections. Once the connection is established, the listener is out of the picture. It creates the connection. It doesn't sustain the connection. One listener, with the default name of LISTENER, running from one oracle home, listening on a single port, will serve multiple database instances of multiple versions running from multiple homes. It is an unnecessary complexity to try to have multiple listeners or to name the listener as if it belongs to a particular database. That would be like the telephone company building a separate switchboard for each customer.
Second, the tnsnames.ora file is a client side issue. It's purpose is for address resolution - the tns equivalent of the 'hosts' file further down the network stack. The only reason it exists on a host machine is because that machine can also run client processes.
Assume you have the following in your tnsnames.ora:
    larry =
      (DESCRIPTION =
        (ADDRESS_LIST =
          (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = myhost)(PORT = 1521))
        (CONNECT_DATA =
          (SERVICE_NAME = curley)
)Now, when you issue a connect, say like this:
$> sqlplus scott/tiger@larrytns will look in your tnsnames.ora for an entry called 'larry'. Next, tns sends a request to (PORT = 1521) on (HOST = myhost) using (PROTOCOL = TCP), asking for a connection to (SERVICE_NAME = curley).
Where is (HOST = myhost) on the network? When the request gets passed from tns to the next layer in the network stack, the name 'myhost' will get resolved to an IP address, either via a local 'hosts' file, via DNS, or possibly other less used mechanisms. You can also hard-code the ip address (HOST = 123.456.789.101) in the tnsnames.ora.
Next, the request arrives at port 1521 on myhost. Hopefully, there is a listener on myhost configured to listen on port 1521, and that listener knows about SERVICE_NAME = curley. If so, you'll be connected.
    What can go wrong?
First, there may not be an entry for 'larry' in your tnsnames. In that case you get "ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified" No need to go looking for a problem on the host, with the listener, etc. If you can't place a telephone call because you don't know the number (can't find your telephone directory (tnsnames.ora) or can't find the party you are looking for listed in it (no entry for larry)) you don't look for problems at the telephone switchboard.
Maybe the entry for larry was found, but myhost couldn't be resolved to an IP address (say there was no entry for myhost in the local hosts file). This will result in "ORA-12545: Connect failed because target host or object does not exist"
Maybe there was an entry for myserver in the local hosts file, but it specified a bad IP address. This will result in "ORA-12545: Connect failed because target host or object does not exist"
Maybe the IP was good, but there is no listener running: "ORA-12541: TNS:no listener"
Maybe the IP was good, there is a listener at myhost, but it is listening on a different port. "ORA-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error"
Maybe the IP was good, there is a listener at myhost, it is listening on the specified port, but doesn't know about SERVICE_NAME = curley. "ORA-12514: TNS:listener does not currently know of service requested in connect descriptor"

  • SQL Developer 3.0.04 generated scripts not compatible with Oracle 10g (XE)

    HI,
I tried to do an export from one XE database (still 10g) to another XE database. (also 10g).
I tried to do a database copy as well as a separate export and import (by loading the file and running as a script).
Neither of them work without modifying the files as it seems that SQL Developer generates scripts that are only compatible with Oracle 11g.
    - Create table contains "segment creation automatic"
    - Storage clauses contain parts that are not compatible with 10g
I ran through the wizard several times but neither can I find an option to choose for compatibility with earlier versions of Oracle.
Checked the preferences screen as well.
Is this a well hidden option or is it not possible to make this work for 10g.
Extra : found workaround by removing the storage clause to the export. Is there another way that does not force me to remove the storage clause?
Edited by: kcaluwae on 24-jun-2011 6:03

I'm sure this is far from the supported way to fix this but, seeing that it's apparently an issue with the classpath or something in it, I hacked <sqldeveloper_install>\sqldeveloper\bin\sqldeveloper.bat and added [ORACLE_HOME]\jdbc\lib\ojdbc6.jar to the classpath. At least that gets me started with 3.0 and lets me create TNS connections.
I'd really appreciate a better solution, if any of you kind folks knows of something.
    Thanks,
    Kelly

  • Is Windows 7 Ultimate compatible with Oracle 10g?

I am trying to install Oracle 10g for Windows on my Windows 7 OS. However, it is failing at the TNS listener configuration section. It is giving me error:

  • Oracle Data Miner 10.1.0.2 Interoperate with Database 10g Release 2

    Hi all,
I cannot connect from Oracle Data Miner to a newly upgraded Database 10g Release 2 with Data Mining option. This database was 10.1.0.2 before upgrade, and I could connect via Oracle Data Miner before the upgrade (though it needs to be upgraded to 10.1.0.3+ for data mining to function).
I have similar problem for a new installation on another computer. The error message in either case is "Cannot connect to specified Data Mining Server. Check connection information and try again."
I can use SQL*Plus to login as the data mining user using the net service corresponding to the connect string. I check the v$option and DBA_REGISTRY as per the Data Mining Admin. documentation to verify that the data mining option exists and is valid. I am able to use the same connect string "host:port:SID" to connect from Analytical Workspace Manager to verify that the connectivity is OK.
Furthermore, some Oracle by Example seems not valid for a DB of version 10.2. For example, at the URL http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe10gdb/bidw/odm/odm.htm#p, the point 6 <ORACLE_HOME>\dm\lib\odmapi.jar is not applicable, because the path <ORACLE_HOME>\dm no longer exists.
Therefore, I have query if Oracle Data Miner 10.1.0.2 can work with DB 10.2? What procedure should I follow? Please advise.
    Thanks and regards,

  • Is 10g Grid Control compatible with database 11g R2?

    Hi all,
I've searched the certificaction matrix for Grid Control in Metalink and it shows the last compatible version of database to create the repository is 11.1 also I don't know if it could monitor a 11.2 database...
If I try installing it the usual way I get an error of invalid version and if I use the silent mode, I get stuck always on an error, so I suppose, for the moment, it's impossible.
Any of you have had some experiences like mine?? I planned to use it for administering Data Guard...

if it could monitor a 11.2 database... It can monitor, at least the basic functions,I added a 11gR2 database to the monitored targets (more exactly the agent discovered it properly). New features (and there some for dataguard, too) aren't yet covered. And it's not supported. 10g isn't very specific,I'm talking about the latest release 10.2.0.5 running on Windows Server 2003,not sure about lower versions.
Because of the lack of official support, I wouldn't yet include 11gR2 databases in production environments.

  • HP 10G "NC510F" NIC compatible with X2 10G tranceivers?

Specifically, does anyone know if the HP 10G NIC work with Cisci X2-10G-LRM or X2-10G-SR?
    -Jim

    Jim,
according to the datasheet for that NIC (http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/servers/networking/nc510f/index.html), it says that it is "10GBASE-SR fiber optic".
The "SR" (short range) part here is the important part. The specifications for SR are standardized - so anything that is "SR" will interoperate.
so: the Cisco "SR" part will work fin, the "LRM" won't, as LRM is a different standard.
SR optics use multimode fiber - so you'll need that.
from memory, an Cisco X2 optical module has SC connectors, the HP NIC looks to be LC connectors, so you'll need a multimode patch cable that is LC-SC - again - something that is fairly standard.
