OracleBI Discoverer Version 10.1.2.55.26 hanging

i have the OracleBI Discoverer Version 10.1.2.55.26 and after enteriing the +Connect To , User name, Password and Database and press Go, it displays the next page  Account Details: Select Responsibility and after press continue button , the white page is displaying for long time.
Can anybody help me

Hi
If this is in a production environment, personally, I would suggest raising an immediate SR with Oracle. That will be the quickest way to get this resolved.
Short term things to check are whether you are starting the services in the right order and whether the services are up and running.
It sounds like you have an infrastructure database in place so the right order for starting everything are:
1. Start the listener for the infrastructure database
2. Start the infrastructure database
3. Start the infrastructure tier
4. Start the database where the Discoverer EUL is located
5. Start the database where the data resides, if not the same as in step 4
6. Start the Discoverer middle tier instance
Steps 4 and 5 can actually be started at any point prior to actually connecting to Discoverer. I just show them in that position as that is where I do it in my instance.
If the above is right and working make sure that all of the Discoverer services are in fact up and running. You can do this as follows:
1. At the operating system log in as Oracle user
2. Go to home directory for middle tier
3. Go into OPMN/BIN folder
4. Type opmnctl status and press the Enter button
What services do you see alive?
Best wishes
Michael

    Dear All,
I have a translation issue in Oracle Discoverer viewer by the name of the Month in German.
If I login in the German version of the system and try to run a report with the month "MAI-10" no data is retrieved. And if I select the English date "MAY-10" in the German version then the name of the month is incorrect. Please, check.
Could you please help me if there is a bug in the application or the database translation?

  • [urgent] D4O-1014 error when connecting to OracleBI Discoverer

    Hi everyone,
I try many approaches even remove all dimensions and cubes, still has the error msg when connecting to OracleBI Discoverer Version 10.1.2.2.
    Oracle Database is 9.2.0.7.0
D4O-1014: An unknown exception had occurred while connecting to the database
Do you have any hint or suggesion?
    Thanks.

First : make sure you have a backup of your AW data model.
I think you will find there are some additional CWM/CWM2 dimensions/cubes owned by SH in the metadata catalogs that do not actually exist. I cannot remember all the commands but if you look in the OLAP documentation for 9i one of the OLAP manuals refers to the CWM_ and CWM2_ views and the PL/SQL packages that can be used to remove the dimensions and cubes. I think all the offending objects will be owned by the user SH but check before you delete anything.
Once you have removed the old objects run the following commands as the OLAPSYS user:
    exec CWM2_OLAP_METADATA_REFRESH.MR_REFESH;
    exec CWM2_OLAP_METADATA_REFRESH.MR_AC_REFESH;
Also make sure you do not assign the OLAP_DBA role to your user, only assign OLAP_USER role.

  • OracleBI Discoverer error message

    Hi,
I am using Discoverer with following version details
    OracleBI Discoverer 10g (10.1.2.3)
Oracle Business Intelligence Discoverer Plus 10g (10.1.2.55.26)
    Discoverer Model - 10.1.2.55.26
    Discoverer Server - 10.1.2.55.26
    End User Layer - 5.1.1.0.0.0
End User Layer Library - 10.1.2.55.26
    Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.3.0 - 64bi
Today, suddenly when I was creating a report, got some error for the first time. Even with this error report was populated with data. So, dont know what caused this. Below is the error:
model.xml.PropertyDriver: can't write property isEDASupported on class oracle.disco.model.corbaserver.worksheetlmpl
    Reason: java.lang.illlegalStateException: TranslatedEventSupport
oracle.disco.model.corbaserver.worksheetlmpl@1c67c6d(sheet 1, wsWorkbook 31225342092) out of sync with TransactionManager.
    Event Support is:
    oracle.disco.model.corbaserver.Transactionlmpl@1e60d9e
    [transaction2 state: 804] TransactionManager: null
Please suggest what could be the issue. Thanks in advance.

    Hi Shah,
If this is a workbook corruption issue, perhaps you can go to another instance (e.g. your test or development instance) and see if this workbook is throwing this error there. If it works in this environment, your next task would be to identify the differences between the instance end user layers (and from this perhaps identify and correct the root cause).
If you strongly feel like there are no differences in the end user layer, perhaps consider exporting/importing the working copy into the instance you are working in.

The best way to check the discoverer version is to go to $ORACLE_HOME/bin and run the
    command:
    strings -a dis51ws | grep "Discoverer Version:"

  • Error in connecting to oracleBI discoverer 10.1.2

    Hi all,
I'm using OracleBi Discoverer 10.1.2. I have created an EUL user "dmuser".
The problem is when I try to connect to oracle bi discoverer using "dmuser", I have this errror msg:" ORA-1254: TNS:listener does not currently know of service requested in connect description" .
I have checked the tnsnames.ora file and it's ok.The problem persits despite I have entered the whole description of the database.
All the services of the oracle databse 10G release 2 are working.
    Any suggestions?

Yes, I have created an EUL user using oracle BI discoverer administrator (Oracle Business Intelligence Tools 10g (10.1.2)).
The problem is the same in both of Discoverer Plus and viewer(Oracle Business Intelligence 10.1.2).
    Cheers.

  • Problem in publishing datamining results in OracleBI discoverer

    Hi all,
I'm working with oracle dataminer 10.2 and I need to publish datamining results in oracleBI discoverer 10.1.2.I have registered the Oracle Data Miner Discoverer Gateway in the EUL.
The problem is that "Publish to Discoverer menu" doesn't appear in the" Publish pull-down menu" in oracle dataminer.
My question is: this problem has happened because I didn't install Patch 4430506 for OracleBI Discoverer Administrator ?
If it's the case, Does anyone have the patch 4430506? I can not download this patch, since I have no metalink account. Could anyone help me this patch? If possible, please send this patch to my email: [email protected]
    Thanks much

    Hi,
That looks like a patch for 10.1.2.
If you are using 10.2, I would think the patch would be unnecessary.
For more information on Discoverer, you should query their forum:

  • Correct Discoverer version for EBS 11.5.10

    Dear Members :
Could you please guide me the right Discoverer Version, the link to download from and configuration steps, in order to connect to EBS 11.5.10 (base) running on Linux ?
I am completely confused looking at so many views and my own failure with ver 4.1.37 (both admin & desktop), login error (same TNS setting I am using with so many applications to connect to database).
Do I need to check anything on apps server side - do appreciate it very much ?

    Discoverer Server: V4.1.48.08.00

Could you please tell me now, which Discoverer Standalone (Admin/Desktop), should I go for ?

AtanuDisco 4.1 is the version that comes bundled with EBS 11.5.10. It is currently de-supported (http://blogs.oracle.com/stevenChan/2006/04/discoverer_4i_to_be_desupporte.html)
You can download 4.1.37 Admin/Desktop version from here (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/discoverer/downloads/index-095113.html) and you will have to request Support to provide you the 4.1.48 patch which you will need to apply.

  • OracleBI Discoverer Plus OLAP

    Hi
I need to use Discoverer for OLAP. I have installed BI and BI Tools, but I have there only Discoverer, not Discoverer Plus..
I dont understand where can I get Discoverer Plus...
    Please help.
    Thanks
    Marketecka

    Hi Aparna
You're obviously using Discoverer 4i which uses an older method of connecting. In this method you have to supply the full path and file name of the file being used to launch Discoverer on the URL. You have no choice but to run this path. However, you could create a proxy for it.
In newer versions the path and file name are all embedded configuration files within the application server, thus you only have to pass a port and the application name. The system then looks in its configuration files to determine the path and which file to run.
Having to use Netscape rather than IE is one of the oddities of 4i. While the IE connector may well work, it was noticed a long time ago that the Netscape file was far more robust. This is because when 4i was written the version of IE at the time was 6.0.28n pack 1 which could not handle JInitiator very well when called using standard IE commands. Seeing as the IE of the day could run the Netscape commands, the rest is history.
By the way, as a side issue, you need to upgrade ASAP because 4i is about to be desupported. I place a new posting on my blog last night which might help understand the Discoverer versions:

  • Patchset 10.1.2.2 and latest Discoverer version

Hi all, I have successfully installed Discoverer 10g 10.1.2.0.2 version from the ΟAS_Business_Intelligence_Pack_101202_(HP), but after a couple of days I discovered some bugs like the double '00' for totals and
On Metalink I found the Note:399843.1 (Upgrading Discoverer 10g (10.1.2.0.x) to Patchset 10.1.2.2) to fix this and other problems.
    So...I have 3 questions:
    1) Which is the latest Discoverer version actually available ? is the 10.1.2.2 ?
    2) with this Patchset, can I upgrade Discoverer 10g to the latest version ?
    3) Instead of installing this patchset, does exist a "business intelligence pack" from the latest Application Server 10g Release 3 (10.1.3.x) in order to install the latest Discoverer version ?
    Thanks you all
    Alex

    Hi,
We had the same issue (discoverer displaying '00' instead of '0') along with couple more issues. We fixed them as below.
    1. Install iAS patch 10.1.2.2 (Disco 10.1.2.54.25) on a development or test server.
This patch is on Metalink and does not require a password.
Patch 4960210 Oracle Application Server Products Family: Patchset
    PLACEHOLDER BUG FOR AS/DS 10G R2 PATCH SET 2 10.1.2.2
    2. Open a Service Request (SR) with Oracle Support to request the password for Discoverer Cumulative Patch III:
Patch 6155500, CUMULATIVE PATCH III: MLR ON TOP OF 10.1.2.2 FOR MLR 6129303 + NEW BUG FIXES
    3. Install patches as described in the patch readme.txt files.
    4. Retest Viewer and workbook identifier to ensure errors no longer occur and workbook identifier is unchanged.
    5. Promote patches to your production environment once bug fix is confirmed.
    Hope this Helps!

Firefox 3.6.4 and 3.6.6 use a process called, "plugin-container.exe" which was using up most of my CPU when I opened up multiple tabs that contained Adobe Flash files, and caused Firefox to lock up.
My solution was to use Firefox 3.5.10 which you can get from the Mozilla website at [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html]
I am using Adobe Flash 10.1.53.64 without any problem in this version of Firefox. Check the release notes, I believe it contains all the latest security fixes in "Firefox 3.6.4".
Hopefully, they will fix Firefox 3.6 in the next version (e.g. Firefox 3.6.7), until then you should probably use "Firefox 3.5.10".

  • Forms 6i and Discoverer versions

I'm in a legacy thick client on Windows NT environment upgrading from Forms/Reports 5 to 6i, backend database is 8.0.6.
What version of Discoverer works with these ? and where can I download it, please ?
I've currently tried to install Discoverer 3.1.26 and the Forms application irun32 doesn't work due to DLL clashes. I can manually fix this by replacing 2 DLLs but this isn't right, and report background engine clashes when I do. ALterntively which DLL(s) stops report engine from crashing ?
I may need to co-exist with another Forms 4.5 developed application, which the old version did, so the version of discoverer needs to right.
    Any comments/thoughts ?
    Thanks in advance
    David

Discoverer version 4.1.37 otherwise known as 9iDS is the answer.
Downloaded Admin version only which contains Desktop version too (previously called User edition).
You need Admin version, because you have to update End User Level (EUL) tables to new version, which you can't do with User Edition.
    Regards
    David.
