OracleOraDb10g_home1iSQL*Plus service is not starting..
Hi,
I am getting error while starting "OracleOraDb10g_home1iSQL*Plus" service. and my oracle is not stating. When i am trying to connect to oracle it is giving me following error
C:\Documents and Settings\patelpa>sqlplus
Error 6 initializing SQL*Plus
Message file sp1<lang>.msb not found
SP2-0750: You may need to set ORACLE_HOME to your Oracle software directory
I am running Oracle 10g on Windows 2003 SP2 server.
Every thing was working fine i have done of HP Service desk Integration Agent installation on the server and did restart and from then the service is not running.
I have tried "isqlplusctl start" command and it started perfectly fine and i have started database after that and i could connect to database from that session but.. not luck with service.
I have tried to do research on the forums but didn't got answer for the specific scenario i am in.
Thanks,
Pankit.
try unselecting it, save the changes, go back in and select it, save the changes. there is a problem with the path, so that should fix it. either that, or you can fix the PATH environment variable manually, putting all the correct oracle directories at the beginning, in the correct order.

Oracle10g Installation Error isqlplus service could not start
I have successful installed Oracle10g on Windows 2000 Professional on a machine with no previous installation of Oracle.
I uninstall Oracle9i on another machine with Windows 2000 Professional using the Universal Installer, run regedit to remove Oracle under Software; stop all Oracle Services; delete the oracle physical folder.
I restart the PC and install Oracle 10g, but the following error appear:
Could not start the OracleOraDb10g_home1iSQL*Plus service on Local Computer.
Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.
I neglect this error and continue the installation. All services work, e.g. sqlplus, and Enterprise Manager
http://localhost:5500/em works except
isqlplis on http://localhost:5560/isqlplus
I check the Control Panel's Administrative Tools, Services and found that OracleOraDb10g_home1iSQL*Plus is starting, but you cannot stop or start it. What happens?
Is there a way to seolve this problem?I resolve this problem caused by JAVA_HOME path of the Windows 2000's System Variable by changing it to map to c:\oracle\product\10.1.0\Db_1\jdk and then OracleOraDb10g_home1iSQL*Plus service can start successfully on Local Computer

I bought my IPad 2 from a friend. I have reset to clear all of his information out. I am trying to connect it to my computer to sync my itunes and I keep getting the message that my IPad can't be used because Apple Mobile Device Service is not started can anyone help with this?
I cannot find "Other" devices. I found Apple Mobile Device under Universal Bus Controllers but cannot see "recovery mode" or any other status. I use Windows Vista.
When I try to restart Apple Mobile Device Service I get the following message: "The Apple Mobile Device Service on Local Computer started then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs". What does this mean?
During the last 48 hours I was able to see my iPad in iTunes only one time during many attemnpts to connect . I haven't been able to see it during the llast several attempts.
Any suggestions? The standard suggestions have not worked: i.e. stop then start AMDS; tuurn off iPad and PC, then restart both and reconfrom iPad to PC; reload iTunes. -

Trying to sync my phone to update because it wont let me update apps on the phone itself. When I plug in to iTunes I'm getting a message saying "This iPhone cannot be used because the Apple Mobile Device service is not started." How do I fix this?

On my registered iTunes computer, the following message appears every time one plugs in a device and refuses to load said device to be synced: "This iPod cannot be used because the Apple Mobile Device service is not started". Each device has been registered onto this account and this computer, and all have worked finely in the past. I am so confused as to why now seemingly without reason, none of our apple devices (one iPod, two iPhones) are allowed to have music and other material downloaded onto them. Also, as a side note, they still are charged by plugging them into the computer, however they do not even show up on the left-hand sidebar in iTunes.
It should also be noted that for my iPhone it does not allow for the new update software to be uploaded; it just says that an error has occurred, nothing more.Try Here > AMDS > http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1567

When I tried to sync my iphone 4 and ipad in iturnes, an error message popped up saying this device cannot be used because Apple Mobile Device service is not started! What does that mean and how do I start service? I've had these devices for over a year and update and sync regularly and have never seen this message before!
I got that message yesterday. I'm new at this so don't know if this is the correct solution but it worked for me. I reset my iPod by holding the 2 buttons down until the apple appears AND I restarted my computer. After that everything worked.

Thanks Ryan Sensei. I followed your link. Though I didn't have any Megaupload software installed on my computer, I saw a related article on http://senseiphone.com/fix-apple-mobile-device-not-started_itunes-0315129/ which was my actual problem and fixed it perfectly.
